"Why," Gaara whispered, his rage seeping into his bloodstream, making his blood boil, his heart race, his mind ache. He could feel the rage color his cheeks, a flush that started up the back of his neck and warmed his ears, but his suit of sand jealously hid the signs of his disquietude.
Gaara's eyes took in the scene before him. Where his enemy should be, in the cocoon of his sand, he was not and instead a few meters away the boy was crushed in his older clone's arms. Gaara could no longer comprehend what was happening before him. Whatever had snapped caused Gaara to quickly forget the humanity that he had been embracing. An animalistic rage was the feeling that filled his hollowing chest.
"He is precious," answered the older clone, his smile was small but sincere and Gaara couldn't understand it. There had been a brief glimpse of familiarity and warmth as a similar smile flashed in his mind, but soon enough the remembrance was washed away into the tide of incredulity and rage, rage, rage.
"My cute little student is precious, I will not see him harmed needlessly," the clone continued. Gaara thought it was unnecessary.
