The month leading to the final Chuunin exam was spent in various ways by the Suna team. Temari, although not worried about her match up with Shikamura had thrown herself into training. Taking advantage of Konoha's training fields, to not only learn the Leaf's terrain but to also scout out the competition. She was under no illusions that she would be strong enough to face any of the Leaf's Jounin and probably not even half of their Chuunin.
Kankuro spent his time scouting out the city, taking in the civilian's side of the Village as well as where the Leaf ninja spent most of their time. He wandered from weapons shop to mechanics to clock makers in the city collecting parts to improve the two puppets that he had brought with him.
Gaara would disappear for hours on end into the many forests surrounding the Hidden Village and would often return with blood in his hair and a dead animal floating in his sand behind him. His siblings didn't see much of him and they didn't know where he went but so long as he wasn't broadcasting his presence they couldn't do much. No one could control Gaara after all.
