"Why it is so YOUTHFUL for a damsel in distress to seek out a ninja to help her!" cried out the man, and Kagome could feel her lips turn down into a scowl. He was poking at a rather sensitive spot.
"I am not a damsel in distress," forced out Kagome balefully. The man must have noticed her displeasure because he instantly snapped into a bow, and Kagome could almost swear that his eyes where shinier than usual.
"I am most regretful in my choice of words, for I did not intend to offend a Desert rose so precious!" cried out the green beast. Kagome blushed, and waved her hands in the air, this was too much! She hadn't been that offended, it was just that the wording had annoyed her!
"Oh no, it's okay, really, please don't do that," urged Kagome as she looked around the market for any passersby taking too much interest in them, "I'm Kagome by the way! It's nice to meet you!"
"I am the Leaf's Green Beast! Gai Maito!" introduced Gai as he whipped his arm across his too bright eyes, "I would be most pleased if you would allow me to help you."

AN: So sorry that I have not updated, my laptop totally freaked out and stopped working on me and it has all of my pre-made chapters! I had to rewrite this one. I'm still hoping for a miracle though, so I don't have to rewrite the next 25 chapters. But anyway, I hope that you've enjoyed this chapter!
