Gai subtly looked over towards the raven haired girl that walked beside him. She was interesting, in the same way that contradicting parts in a machine worked together was fascinating. She didn't fit his definition of Suna and its culture, but he found her refreshing.
Kagome had positively glowed as he pointed out the landmarks around Konoha as he led her towards Suna's private training grounds. Not in a way that would have made Gai suspicious though, because Kagome was much too genuine about her awe, awe that couldn't be manufactured by even the most experienced ninja. She had even beamed when he had pointed out the Hokage Monument, and that had earned points with him.
Gai had run across his share of Suna ninja's and citizens and Kagome was an anomaly to him. She showed only the slightest mannerism Gai associated with Suna's culture, her accent, although having a minor inclination towards a Suna dialect, was entirely foreign. She laughed easily and smiled readily, much different to the more reserved countenance that Suna's culture usually rewarded. She was also entirely too open with her emotions, when she was angry, he knew it. All in all Gai quite liked her.
