Kagome noticed that Temari relaxed minutely while she talked to Tenten. It had been enlightening, and Kagome hoped to be able to crush the ill will that Tenten obviously still held on to, it was small, but it was there, buried in her heart. Temari seemed to be genuinely contrite towards the other girls defeat, but she remained stony towards the girl and Kagome wondered if that had anything to do with the Kage's future battle plans.

"Short bow," finally cut in Tenten holding out the weapon that Kagome had earlier requested. Kagome reverently accepted the bow, her fingers gliding across its polished surface and running across the taunt bowstring.

"May I try it with an arrow?" asked Kagome her eyes still drawn to the bow. She heard Temari huff but Kagome just sent her a rueful smile as Tenten handed her an arrow without its head.

With expert hands and well-earned callouses Kagome turned from her companions drawing back the bow and aiming at something they couldn't see.

"Come on Kagome, we need to find Kankuro!" hurried Temari, uneasy about the expert way her friend held the weapon, Temari could see her as the Miko she claimed to be.
