"I'll take it!" exclaimed Kagome as she turned back towards the counter, carefully detaching the arrow shaft from the bow's taut string.
"Kagome, are you sure?" murmured Temari uneasily. She didn't mind her friend being armed, after all Kagome at least had a pouch of twenty shuriken on her at all times, but to be so obviously armed in an enemy's village? That spelled danger to her rather accident prone friend. What if the other Konoha nins saw her with the weapon, would they arrest her? Or think her a spy and send her to their T&I department? That one supervisor of the exam had clearly been tortured before, who was to say that he hadn't told his subordinates about what someone had done to him and then Konoha improved upon it. Kagome wasn't like that guy! She wouldn't be able to survive that torture!
"I'll need to see your traveling papers. Sorry, I know it's a pain but we can't just go around equipping every foreign diplomat," Tenten said, and Temari thought that she did sound apologetic.
"That's no problem, wait," cheered Kagome as she dug through the giant yellow pack on her back. Temari scowled at Kagome's eagerness.
