Disclaimer: I do not own that which belongs to another.

Kankuro remained sitting up after Temari's gentle kick. His mind whirled as he turned his head and he could just see Kagome's face through the curtain of hair that she had hung in front of her, her eyes downcast as though in shame. That look shouldn't be on Kagome's face, she had done nothing wrong, but Kankuro wondered if perhaps the more meek stance that Kagome posed was due to his Father's influence?

Kankuro had known his Father his whole life, but he had only met the Kazekage's side of his Father when he became a ninja, and he hadn't seen his Father's desperate political side until Orochimaru showed up in town a few months back. Needless to say, his Father was not a gentle man, and often he broke the things he liked. His Father had broken their mother and their brother after all.

Kankuro growled lowly as he saw such a humbled Kagome before him, if his Father had broken Kagome as well, the two of them would be having much more than just words. Kankuro would kill the man, because Kankuro could not let what happened to Gaara and his Mother happen to anyone else ever again.
