Shikamaru sighed as he crouched down, his chakra was depleted but at least backup had arrived. Shikamaru wondered if he was quiet enough if he'd be able to sneak past the Jounin that stood in the doorway. He sighed deeply already knowing Naruto would just shout at him or bring attention to him in some way before he accomplished his goal. Naruto was troublesome, but he was also intriguing, although Shikamaru knew the trouble wasn't worth it.
"Naruto…" muttered Shikamaru, hoping to stop the blonde from antagonizing their backup. The blonde was covered in bandages and Shikamaru wasn't in fighting shape, they wouldn't be able to hold off the maniac in their condition. Shikamaru had heard Team 8's description of what they'd seen in the Chuunin Exam, the two of them were out of their league.
"It has been most YOUTHFUL for the two of you to defend a fellow Genin!" cried the Beast, tears leaking from his eyes as he entered all the way into the room, taking Naruto's hands in his own. Shikamaru sighed, he was surrounded by idiots.
"Gaara?" a feminine voice called from the doorway. Shikamaru looked over with interest as Gaara froze in his spot.
