Kagome stopped within arm's reach of Gaara. Her instincts were flaring in warning, and tendrils of her power lashed through the air as though to warn any demons nearby of her Miko powers, and her ability to completely destroy them. Kagome cursed, and took one step back to rein in her overflowing energy, it might harm Gaara.
Kagome tightly closed her eyes and breathed, filling her lungs. Taking careful note of everyone's aura in the room, and the feel of her own aura overtaking the hospital room with panicked, Miko radioactivity.
A mewl of pain filled the air at a nearly inaudible level and Kagome had to stop herself from starting and losing her concentration. Nothing could be fixed if she didn't concentrate…
Her thought abruptly died as she felt something small and warm impact her stomach. Kagome gasped and her eyelids shuttered open quickly enough to see a wincing blonde holding on to her abdomen as they fell through the air. Kagome didn't know what was going on but she could feel the malevolence in the air sprouting out of Gaara. Two warring factions of his aura fighting for control of its vessel.
Kagome blanched, because she understood now.
