Kagome would be blind to not see that hidden underneath the boy's sunny aura was the inky red of contained, hazardous, uncontrollable youkai. She hoped that the mewling that she had heard when her unleashed energy overflowed the room hadn't come from the boy.
"Nope, not at all! I'm a ninja after all! I've fallen to the ground worse than that before, believe it!" said the boy. Kagome's lips tugged into a frown, she couldn't have this joked away.
"No, not just then, I mean before, you weren't hurt were you?" asked Kagome. Gai made a strange aborted sound from where he had stood frozen and Kagome nearly jumped out of her skin at the sudden intense look in Gai's eyes.
"Are you talking about that funny electricity that went through me when I tackled you? Cause that didn't even sting! I'm tougher than that! Believe it!" exclaimed Naruto and Kagome winced, her eyes looking at the shoulder that he had tackled her with, looking for any sign of her Miko energy harming him.
"Oh how YOUTHFUL it is to be concerned about your SAVIOR, Kagome!" exclaimed Gai from his position beside her ear. Kagome froze.
"Where did Gaara go?"
