"Naruto?" asked Kagome, resolving to think about home later, much later, when a decision actually needed to be to made. As it was she was stuck in this world for now, and it wouldn't do to give herself a headache for nothing.
"Yeah?" he answered, ramen noodles hanging out of his open mouth.
"Is it very difficult living in Konoha?" she asked. It had been bothering her since the Hospital. Naruto was just like Gaara, demonic energy entombed inside of them like Feudal Villagers would seal away malicious objects in shrines to be purified and watched over.
Kagome had seen how Gaara was treated in Suna. She tried not to think about it often, but it was hard to ignore, especially when assassins would sneak in through her apartment windows at night to get to him. She had seen the way that a crowded street would become deserted if he walked her to the Mission Office or she forced him to go shopping with her in the Market.
Kagome just wanted to know that there was somewhere in this world that people like Gaara, beings with demonic energy locked away, were respected or at the very least treated with kindness.
