"Kagome?" called someone behind them. Naruto and Kagome turned as one to see her pigtailed friend.
"Temari! I'd like to introduce you to my friend Naruto, he's a ninja, like you!" cheerfully introduced Kagome with a wide smile. She ignored the surprise on Naruto's face, but he nodded politely towards Temari in greeting.
"We've met," admitted Temari, careful to keep her tone neutral. Kagome was grateful the girl was trying.
"So you're all done with training for the day, right?" asked Kagome, a plan forming in her mind.
"Yes… but—" Temari began before Kagome held up a hand to stop her.
"Perfect!" cheered Kagome as she turned towards Naruto, "do you know of any good hot springs around here? I've heard that Fire Country is filled with them. There isn't any in Suna but the Villages at the very edge of Wind Country boast having a few, and they're heavenly but I don't get to go to them at all, not with work."
"Yeah, there's one just down this road, here, I'll draw you a map! Hey Old Man! Do you have anything to write with around here?!" shouted Naruto, eager to be of assistance to his new friend.
