Temari stayed stationed where she was across the clearing, watching the Konoha nins send teasing looks Kagome's way. They were playing with her friend, and if that was the only punishment Kagome was going to get for doing something stupid then Temari would stay silent, for now. If they tried to arrest the girl though, Temari would use any form of diplomatic immunity she had ever learned to get her friend out of trouble.
There was no doubt that Kagome had done something stupid, and that she had gotten caught. Temari knew that, but that didn't mean that Kagome deserved any form of punishment greater than a single slap on the wrist and a warning. If there was one thing that Temari knew in this irksome world, it was that Kagome was kind, and she was benevolent. Temari would bank anything that whatever stupid thing Kagome had done, it had been for the benefit of the Village that had graciously hosted her friends for the past two months.
"Kagome, I believe you still have the Kazekage's arrival to prepare for, as your duty as his personal assistant," said Temari, a warning clear to everyone in the area. Kagome was untouchable.
