Butters

Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman couldn't believe what they were seeing. Butters, someone they knew from South Park, was in the Marshs' living room right in front of them.

"What's Butters doing here, Mom?" asked Stan. Sharon looked away with an uncomfortable look on her face. As the boys wondered what she was upset about, Butters walked over to them. As he got close to the boys, they noticed that Butters looked like he had some bruises on his face that were slightly faded, but still visible. Out of curiosity, Kyle decided to ask what he figured his friends were wondering.

"Dude. What's going on? Why do you have those bruises on your face?" asked Kyle. Butters started to tremble and tears started forming in his eyes. After a few seconds, he started to cry uncontrollably and he latched onto Kyle with a hug. Kyle started to feel his shoulder get wet as Butters' tears started soaking into his shirt.

"Mom. What's wrong with Butters?" asked Stan.

"I think you boys should sit down. We have something to discuss." said Sharon. After Butters calmed down, the boys all sat down on the couch and waited for Sharon to start talking.

"Okay, Mom. What's going on?" asked Stan.

"You see...Butters' dad attacked him." said Sharon, shocking Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. Butters started to tremble a bit.

"What?! Why would he do that?!" asked Kenny.

"He did it just because Butters' shirt was inside out!" yelled Sharon. Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny couldn't believe what they just heard.

"What?! He beat Butters over a shirt?!" yelled Kyle.

"I know! It's horrible!" said Sharon.

"I know Butters' parents overreact a lot. Like when Mr. Stotch trashed the pantry because Butters misplaced one measly item, and when Mrs. Stotch tried to drown Butters because she found out Mr. Stotch was doing things I don't want to think about; but beating him over a shirt?! And I thought our dads were stupid!" said Stan.

"Anyway, while Butters' father was...I don't want to talk about it; a neighbor heard the noise and went over to see what the problem was. The neighbor looked in one of the Stotchs' windows and saw Mr. Stotch hurting Butters and called the police. Mr. Stotch was arrested for child abuse and sent to prison. Mrs. Stotch went crazy and tried attacking the police when they put Mr. Stotch in handcuffs, and she ended up getting arrested for assaulting officers. Because of that, and past actions such as the attempted drowning, Child Services decided that the Mr and Mrs. Stotch were unfit to raise Butters. They decided to send Butters far away from South Park. Butters remembered that you boys told him about us moving here and suggested he be sent here to Paldea because he wanted to be with people he knew. They had Butters pack his clothes and some of his possessions and they sent him here." explained Sharon. Butters was sniffling after Sharon was done explaining everything.

"My god. Are a lot of adults in South Park just a bunch of morons?!" asked Kenny.

"Are there any dads who are actually good at being one in South Park?!" asked Kyle, thinking about his, Stan's, and Kenny's fathers.

"Who knows." replied Sharon.

"So what are we going to do about Butters?" asked Lincoln.

"We can figure that out soon enough. For now, he'll stay with us. Are you okay with that, Stan?" asked Sharon. Stan thought about all the times they took advantage of Butters and made him do things like when they made him glue a pair of fake testicles to his chin, or when they made him gain a lot of weight and did amateur liposuction on him afterwards which didn't really go that well. After all that, Stan felt like they really owe Butters.

"I'm cool with that, Mom." said Stan.

"Really, Stan?" replied Butters.

"Sure, dude. After all you did for me, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny; we owe you a lot." said Stan. Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman look down in shame as they remember some of the things they made Butters do. Cartman especially remembers the time he impersonated Butters over the phone to his parents and REALLY got them angry and all he did was sit on a lawn chair with popcorn and soda and listened to Butters' parents being very angry with him.

"T-T-Thanks, fellas. That really means a lot to me." said Butters with tears in his eyes.

"No problem, dude." said Kyle.

"So what are you boys up to now?" asked Sharon.

"Mr. Clavell gave all the students an independent study assignment called the Treasure Hunt. We're supposed to travel all across Paldea and find something we can treasure, as well as experience everything the region has to offer." replied Stan.

"Well I guess it's okay for if you boys go on this assignment. Just be careful and have your Pokemon with you at all times." said Sharon.

"We will, Mom." said Stan. Butters was curious about something that Sharon just said.

"Mrs. Marsh. What's Pokemon?" asked Butters. The boys look at each other, nod, and each pull out a pokeball. They then open them, releasing Fuecoco, Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Wooper. Butters look at them with awe and surprise.

"These are Pokemon, Butters." said Stan.

"Pokemon are these awesome creatures that live in this region. There are way more kinds of Pokemon than these guys. There are hundreds of different kinds of Pokemon to be found here." said Kyle. Butters walks up to the boys Pokemon with a nervous look on his face.

"A-A-Are they friendly?" asked Butters. Kyle's Sprigatito answers Butters by walking up to him and nuzzles his leg. Butters slowly lowers his hand toward Sprigatito and slowly rubs his back, making him purr. "Aww. You're a nice kitty."

"Actually, this Pokemon is called a Sprigatito." said Kyle.

"My Pokemon is called a Quaxly." said Stan.

"Mine is a Fuecoco. He's super awesome." said Cartman.

"And mine is called a Wooper." said Kenny.

"Yeah. We have other Pokemon besides these guys too." said Kyle.

"Wow. Neato." says Butters. Stan looks at Butters, then their Pokemon.

"Hey, guys. Do you think we should help Butters catch his own Pokemon?" Stan asked his friends.

"Yeah, dude. That sounds like a good idea." said Kyle.

"Do you think Butters can come along on your Treasure Hunt assignment? It might help him get over what his parents did to him." asked Sharon.

"I don't see a problem with that. We can teach Butters the basics about training Pokemon." said Stan.

"Really, fellas?" replied Butters.

"No problem, dude." said Kyle.

"Hold on. I got to do something first." said Stan, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his Rotom Phone. He dialed Lincoln's number and the Rotom Phone floats in front of Stan, surprising Butters.

"Whoa. Neato." said Butters. A couple seconds later, Lincoln answered.

"Hello?" said Lincoln.

"Hey, Lincoln. It's me, Stan." Stan says from the other end.

"Hi, Stan. What's up?" replied Lincoln.

"Listen, dude. Something just came up so we'll be a little late; so you can go on ahead and we'll catch up as soon as we can." said Stan.

"Oh. Well I hope to see you guys soon. I'll be leaving through the west gate to Cortondo." said Lincoln.

"Okay. See you later, Lincoln." said Stan. He disconnects the call and puts his Rotom Phone away.

"Who was that?" asked Butters.

"That's Lincoln Loud. He's a friend we made here in Paldea." replied Stan.

"Is he nice?" asked Butters.

"Yeah, he cool." said Kenny.

"What was that phone of yours." asked Butters.

"It's a Rotom Phone. We each have one." said Kyle as he, Stan, Cartman, and Kenny take their Rotom Phones out of their pockets to show Butters.

"Whoa. Do you think I can get one?" asked Butters.

"Sure, dude. We just need to save up some money." said Cartman.

"Speaking of money, we still need to get our savings. After that, we'll have Butters come with us while we get supplies for our journey. That will give him a chance to see Mesagoza and see some other kinds of Pokemon that usually hang around the city." said Cartman.

"Good idea, Cartman." said Kenny.

"Let's go, guys. We'll meet at the center of the city." said Stan. Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman went to their homes to get their savings while Stan and Butters went to Stan's room to get Stan's savings. As Stan started gathering his savings, he was thinking about what Butters' parents did. "I can't believe Butters' parents could be so stupid. Is their something in the air in South Park that make adults complete idiots? If so, our moms must be resistant to whatever it is; otherwise they wouldn't have had enough common sense to divorce our dads and leave South Park. And maybe whoever saw Butters' parents hurting him was resistant as well or he or she wouldn't have been smart enough to call the cops. Anyway, this journey will definitely be good for Butters. It will give him time for his emotional scars to heal." Stan thought to himself. Butters looked at Stan and noticed he looked like his mind was elsewhere.

"Are you okay, Stan?" asked Butters, snapping Lincoln back to reality.

"I'm okay, Butters." said Stan. He gathers up the last of his money and they both go to the living room.

"Are you boys ready?" asked Sharon.

"Yeah, Mom." said Stan.

"Well have fun on your assignment." said Sharon. Stan and Butters start heading for the front door before Sharon stopped them to say something else. "And, Stanley..."

"Yeah, Mom?" asked Stan.

"Thanks for taking Butters with you. It really means a lot to me that you and your friends want to help him." said Sharon.

"No problem." said Stan. "See ya, Mom. Bye, Shelly."

"Good luck, Stan." said Sharon.

"Don't come back too often, turd." said Shelly.

"I'll miss you too, Shelly." said Stan. He and Butters exit the house and start walking towards the center of Mesagoza. As they do, Butters couldn't help but be amazed by the sights and many kinds of Pokemon he saw.

"Whoa." said Butters as he took in the sights he saw.

"Yeah. This city really is amazing. And there's all sorts of stuff to see outside the city also." said Stan.

"Oh boy. I can't wait to join your adventure and see it." said Butters.

"Neither can I." said Stan. They soon reached the center of Mesagoza where they saw that Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny were.

"Hey, fellas." said Butters.

"Hey, Butters." Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny said in unison.

"So what now?" asked Stan.

"Let's get some supplies for our journey. We can also get some pokeballs for Butters so he can catch his own Pokemon." said Kyle.

"Good idea." said Stan. They went around the city and purchased stuff for the journey such as potions, pokeballs, and sandwich ingredients. Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny each gave Butters a pokeball.

"How do you use these?" asked Butters.

"We'll show you once we leave the city." said Stan.

"Where should we go?" asked Kyle.

"Let's leave through the east gate." said Stan.

"Let's ride our Koraidons there. We've been walking around the city shopping for supplies and my feet are tired." said Cartman.

"Good idea." said Stan. The boys each released their Koraidons, surprising Butters.

"Whoa! They look amazing." said Butters.

"They are, aren't they." said Kenny. The boys each climbed on their Koraidon.

"I wish I had one of those." said Butters. Cartman reached out with his hand open.

"Come on, Butters. You can ride with me." said Cartman.

"Really?! Thanks, Eric." said Butters. Cartman grabs Butters' hand and pulls him up and sets him down behind him.

"Hold on, Butters. These guys can really move." said Cartman. Butters wraps his arms around Cartman and the boys ride off towards the east gate. When they got there, Butters looked up at how big the gate is.

"This is a big gate." said Butters.

"Yeah." said Stan.

"This is it, guys. Our journey begins now." said Stan. "We don't know what to expect out there, but we're ready for whatever the region has to throw at us."

"Yeah!" the boys cheer in response.

"And Butters; we will help you get over what your parents did to you." said Stan. Butters looks down with an upset look as he recalled what his parents did to him. "Sorry to bring that up, Butters."

"T-That's okay, Stan." said Butters. Cartman turns and pats Butters' shoulder.

"We will get you through what happened." said Cartman. "And if I had your butthole of a dad here, I would kick him square in the nuts!"

"I hope you do someday, Cartman." said Kyle.

"Thanks, fellas." said Butters.

"Okay. Let's go." said Stan. The boys ride through the gate to start their journey.
