South Province Area Two
After leaving Mesagoza, the Eds looked around the area known as South Province Area Two.
"Well, it's not nearly as rocky as the last area we explored." said Edd.
"Yeah. So where is Cortondo?" asked Eddy.
"It's further west of here, Eddy." said Edd.
"Okay. Let's get going, boys." said Eddy. They walk forward and Eddy takes the time to grab some coins from a Gimmighoul he spots. As they travelled, Ed spots a sheeplike Pokemon. Ed takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Mareep, the Wool Pokemon. Its fleece grows continually. In the summer, the fleece is fully shed, but it grows back in a week." said the Rotom Phone. Ed runs to the Mareep and picks it up in a hug.
"Woolly Bully!" said Ed. The Mareep becomes surrounded by electricity and shocks Ed who, to Mareep's surprise, looked unphased. "Zappity Zap Zap." Ed puts Mareep down and pulls out a pokeball. "I'm going to catch you, Mareep! Floragato, come out!" He throws Floragato's pokeball and releases him. "Floragato, use Leafage on Mareep!" Floragato spreads his arms apart and unleashes light green, glowing leaves at Mareep, hitting it. Mareep becomes surrounded by electricity and unleashes electrical rings and they hit Floragato. Floragato shudders and becomes surrounded by electricity.
"Ed! I think that was Thunder Wave! It paralyzes the Pokemon it hits!" said Edd. The Mareep charges at Floragato and rams into him, knocking him back.
"Floragato, Bite!" said Ed. Floragato fights through his paralysis and bites Mareep's back. Mareep charges at Floragato and rams him again. "Floragato, Magical Leaf!" Floragato tries to jump up, but paralysis kicks in, stopping his attack. Mareep becomes surrounded by electricity and unleashes it at Floragato, hitting him, but not doing a lot of damage, due to grass type Pokemon being resistant to electric type attacks. "Try Magical Leaf again!" This time, Floragato jumps up and spreads his arms, unleasheing glowing green leaves and hitting Mareep, knocking it to the ground. Ed quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Mareep, hitting it and sucking it in. After it wiggles around for a few seconds, it stops and clicks, inidicating Mareep's capture. Ed picks up Mareep's pokeball. "Yay! Mareep is mine!" Mareep's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage. Ed uses his Rotom Phone to transfer Pawmi to storage and putting Mareep in her place. Ed uses his Rotom Phone to learn more about his new Mareep. "Okay, Mareep is a girl, she knows Tackle, Growl, Thunder Wave, and Thunder Shock. She has an ability called Static.
"That has a chance of paralyzing a Pokemon that physically attacks her, Ed." said Edd. He looks down and sees a red berry on the ground. He picks it up. "Ed, you should give this to Floragato." Ed looks at it.
"What is it, Double D?" asked Ed.
"It's a Cheri Berry. It cures paralysis." replied Edd. Ed takes the Cheri Berry and holds it close to Floragato's mouth.
"Here. Eat this, Floragato. Double D says it'll make you feel better." said Ed. Floragato eats the berry, and seconds later, the electricty that surrounded Floragato vanishes. Floragato smiles and flexes his arms. Ed smiles and pats Floragato's head.
"Okay. Now that that's out of the way, let's get going." said Eddy.
"Perhaps we can explore this area some more, Eddy. There might be some more Pokemon you can use for your team, as well as more Gimmighouls you can get coins from." said Edd. "And I would like to train my Pokemon a bit more."
"Well, I wouldn't mind getting more coins for my Gimmighoul." said Eddy. He looks at the clock on his Rotom Phone. "Okay. We'll meet at that Pokemon Center over there at noon for some lunch." They both look at a Pokemon Center
"Okay, Eddy." said Edd. He, Ed, and Eddy split up to explore South Province Area Two. Ed trained his new Mareep for a while and she learned Cotton Spore. As he returns Mareep to her pokeball so she can rest, a man approached Ed.
"Excuse me, young man, but would you like to have a Pokemon battle with me?" asked the man.
"Yeah!" replied Ed. Soon, Ed and the man were standing several feet from each other. The man pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Phanpy, go." said the man, throwing the pokeball and releasing a light blue Pokemon with a trunk with a red pad on it and floppy ears that each had two red pads on them. Ed takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Phanpy, the Long Nose Pokemon. It is far stronger than it appears. If a Phanpy is swinging its trunk around and your arm gets hit by it, your arm bone will shatter." said the Rotom Phone. Ed pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Floragato, come on out!" said Ed, throwing Floragato's pokeball and releasing him. "Floragato, Magical Leaf!" Floragato jumps up and spreads his arm, releasing glowing green leaves from his body and hitting Phanpy, causing super effective damage and knocking it out in one hit, shocking its trainer.
"Phanpy!" exclaimed the man.
"I win!" cheered Ed.
"Gato!" cheered Floragato, raising his arms. The man returns Phanpy to its pokeball and walks over to Ed.
"You've trained your Floragato well, young man." said the man.
"Thanks, mister." replied Ed. The man gives Ed pokedollars and walks away. Ed turns to Floragato. "You did great, Floragato."
"Flor." said Floragato. At another part of South Province Area Two, Edd trained his Pokemon for a while as well and his Diglett learns Bulldoze, his Nacli who already knew Tackle, Harden, Mud Shot, Smack Down, and Rock Polish learns Headbutt; and his Swablu learned Fury Attack. Eddy mainly spent his time looking for Gimmighoul coins as well as train his Pokemon. As Edd explored, he sees a small, green, olive-shaped Pokemon with an olive on its head, walking about. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Smoliv, the Olive Pokemon. This Pokemon converts nutrients into oil, which it stores in the fruit on its head. It can easily go a whole week without eating or drinking." said the Rotom Phone.
"Interesting." said Edd. "I think I'll try having you on my team." He takes out his Spidop's pokeball and throws it, releasing her. "Spidops, use Bug Bite!" Spidops jumps at the Smoliv and bites down on it, doing super effective damage. The Smoliv charges at Spidops and rams her. "Spidops, use Feint!" Spidops moves left, then swiftly moves at Smoliv and slams into it, knocking it down. Edd takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Smoliv. The pokeball hits it and sucks it inside. After the ball wiggles a few times, it clicks and stops. "Success. I've captured a Smoliv." After the pokeball goes to storage, Edd uses his Rotom Phone and uses it to swap his Diglett for Smoliv. He also uses his Rotom Phone to look up his new Smoliv's information. "This says that my new Smoliv is a girl, she knows Tackle, Sweet Scent, Absorb, and Growth. She has the Early Bird ability which cuts the duration of a sleep status condition that she's afflicted with. Too bad Eddy doesn't have this ability. It's frustrating having to bang on his door in the mornings at the academy when he refuses to get out of bed." As Eddy was searching for Gimmighouls, he sees a crystal cluster nearby.
"Hmm. Maybe I can get something good to sell for money from that Tera Den." said Eddy. He goes to it and crawls inside. Once in, he looks around and sees a small brown Pokemon with a treelike growth on top of its head with three green orbs on it. Eddy takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Bonsly, the Bonsai Pokemon. From its eyes, it can expel excess moisture from its body. This liquid is similar in composition to human sweat." said the Rotom Phone. Eddy sees a crystal eye on its head.
"I don't know what your Tera Form is, but I'm still gonna battle you." said Eddy as he takes out Murkrow's pokeball and releases him from it. "Okay, Murkrow! Try Wing Attack!" Murkrow flies at the Bonsly and strikes it with his wing. Bonsly drops rocks onto Murkrow, doing super effective damage. "Uh oh. Hurry, Murkrow! Use Astonish!" Murkrow turns his back on Bonsly, then quickly turns back around, surprising Bonsly and makes it fall backwards, making it hurt itself and doing super effective damage to it. Bonsly flinches as well. "Murkrow! Use Peck!" Murkrow flies at the Bonsly and strikes it with his beak. Bonsly's Tera Form shatters and it stumbles around weakly. Eddy takes out a pokeball and throws it at the Bonsly. The pokeball hits it and sucks Bonsly in. After the pokeball wiggles a few times, it stops and clicks. "Oh yeah. I caught a Bonsly." The pokeball then vanishes and gets sent to storage. The den flashes brightly and Eddy finds himself back outside. He sees a couple bags of Stardust and he picks them up. "Sweet!"
`He looks around some more and he sees a tower just like the one he saw in South Province Area Three. Eddy decides to check it out. When he gets to it, he sees a ladder and he climbs it to the top. He soon sees a Gimmighoul Chest Form. He releases his Crocalor from his pokeball and he stands ready. "Crocalor, use Incinerate!" yells Eddy. Crocalor launches a fireball from his mouth, and it hits the Gimmighoul. The Gimmighoul responds by jumping at Crocalor and slams into him. "Crocalor, use Bite!" Crocalor jumps at the Gimmighoul and bites it, doing super effective damage and making it flinch. "Now hit it with Ember!" Crocalor releases bits of fire from his mouth and they hit Gimmighoul. Gimmighoul passes out from exhaustion, dropping a moderate number of coins onto the ground. "Jackpot!" Eddy picks up the coins and gives them to his Gimmighoul along with the other ones he found.
After that, he looks down from the tower and he sees a small town surrounded by farmland. He looks at his map and learns that the town is Cortondo. "That's where my first badge is." said Eddy. He climbs down from the tower and heads for the Pokemon Center he and the others planned to meet up at. Edd was busy training his new Smoliv. During the training, his Smoliv learned Razor Leaf and Helping Hand. At noon, the Eds meet at the Pokemon Center and give the nurse their Pokemon. While they waited for their Pokemon to be healed, they had some lunch and talked about their progress.
"It seems we're making exceptional progress, gentlemen." said Edd.
"Yeah!" said Ed. "That next Titan Pokemon better watch out!"
"After lunch, I'm selling the Stardust I got from that Tera Raid battle and buy some more pokeballs for myself." said Eddy.
"Good idea, Eddy." said Edd. After they ate, sold Eddy's Stardust, bought some more pokeballs, and got their Pokemon back after they were healed, they hopped onto Miraidon and travelled west some more. A few minutes later, they reach Cortondo.
"Here we are, boys." said Eddy. "Cortondo, home of my first gym badge."
"I'm certain you will do just fine, Eddy." said Edd.
"You know it! Let's go!" said Eddy. And with that, the Eds enter Cortondo.
