Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan
The next morning, after the Eds had breakfast and put all their stuff away; they tried to decide what to do next.
"So where to now, boys?" asked Eddy. Edd looks around the area they were in.
"I would like to explore this area further, Eddy." said Edd. "Perhaps we can find new Pokemon for our teams."
"Yeah, Eddy!" said Ed.
"I don't see why not. I think my team could use some tweaking anyway." said Eddy. The Eds hop onto their Miraidon and start heading west of Cortondo. They soon reached an area called West Province, Area One. As they explored, they take the time to capture Pokemon for their collections. Ed caught a Mankey, Edd caught a Capsakid, and Eddy caught a Phanpy. As they explored, they soon reached another part of South Province Area Two that has a dry area with a small lake in it. Ed looks around and sees a small, light purple, sluglike Pokemon. Ed takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Goomy, the Soft Tissue Pokemon. Goomy's horns have excellent sensory organs that cover all five of Goomy's senses. Goomy picks up on danger from the movement of the air." said the Rotom Phone. Ed pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Shroodle, come on out!" said Ed, throwing Shroodle's pokeball and releasing him. "Shroodle, use Acid Spray!" Shroodle unleashes a stream of orange liquid out of his mouth, and it hits Goomy, hurting it and weakening its defense. Goomy releases a light blue beam of energy from its mouth, and it hits Shroodle. Shroodle suddenly becomes surrounded by electricity and he shudders.
"Ed! That was Dragon Breath!" said Edd. "There's a chance it will paralyze the opponent!"
"Uh-oh. Shroodle, Poison Fang!" said Ed. Unfortunately, Shroodle's paralysis prevents him from attacking. Goomy opens its mouth, and it unleashes a spiral of water out of it and it hits Shroodle. "Poison Fang!" Shroodle fights through his paralysis, and it leaps at Goomy while its front teeth were glowing purple, and it bites onto Goomy. Unfortunately, Poison Fang doesn't poison Goomy. Goomy hops towards Shroodle and rams him. Goomy takes out the Oran Berry Ed gave him to hold and eats it, restoring some of his stamina. A strong burst of wind came out of Shroodle's body.
"Ed! I think Shroodle's Unburden ability has activated!" said Edd. "Since he used an item he was holding, his speed has doubled!"
"Oh boy! Shroodle, Bite!" said Ed. Shroodle fights through his paralysis again and leaps at Goomy while his front teeth were glowing white, and he bites onto Goomy. Goomy begins to slump. Ed takes out an empty pokeball and he throws it at the Goomy. It hits the Goomy and sucks it in and after a few seconds of wiggling, it stops and clicks. "Yay! Goomy is mine!" Goomy's pokeball vanishes since Ed already has six Pokemon on him, so he uses his Rotom Phone to transfer Lechonk to storage and put Goomy in his place. Ed uses his Rotom Phone to learn more about Goomy. "Okay. It says Goomy is a boy, he knows Tackle, Absorb, Water Gun, Dragon Breath, and Protect. It has an ability called Sap Sipper."
"That makes it that Goomy doesn't get hurt by grass type attacks, but instead, makes Goomy's attack strength stronger." said Edd.
"Cool." said Ed. Ed took the time to train his Pokemon. Soon, Floragato learned Seed Bomb, Shroodle learned Flatter, Klawf learned Metal Claw, and Mareep learned Charge. Mareep suddenly begins to glow. "Guys! Mareep's evolving!" When Mareep stopped glowing, she was now standing on two legs instead of four, she was mostly pink, has a mane of white wool on her head and upper body and her tail was now longer with a blue orb on the end of it. Ed takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at his newly evolved Mareep.
"Flaaffy, the Wool Pokemon and the evolved form of Mareep. Because of its rubbery, electricity-resistant skin, it can store lots of electricity in its fur." said the Rotom Phone. Ed pats Flaaffy's head.
"Congratulations, Ma...I mean, Flaaffy." said Ed.
"Congratulations, indeed." said Edd. As they further explored the area, they find a tunnel and decide to check it out. As they go further into it, they see a shark fin in the floor coming towards them.
"SHARK!" said Eddy.
"In the dirt?" asked Edd. When the fin got close to them, it stops. A few seconds later, a small grayish blue Pokemon that looked like a small shark with small arms and legs, along with a reddish orange belly pops out of the ground and looks at them. Edd takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Gible, the Land Shark Pokemon. It nests in horizontal holes warmed by geothermal heat. Foes who get too close can expect to be pounced on and bitten." said the Rotom Phone.
"You think you're so funny, scaring me like that?!" said Eddy. The Gible just stares at Eddy and seems to laugh at him, making Eddy growl in anger. "Well, I'll teach you a lesson."
"Eddy. According to the Rotom Phone, it's part dragon type and part ground type. Might I suggest using Murkrow. If that Gible knows any ground type moves, Murkrow, being a flying type will be immune to them." said Eddy.
"Fine." said Eddy as he pulls Murkrow's pokeball out of his pocket and releases him from it. "Murkrow, use Peck!" Murkrow flies at the Gible and jabs it with his beak. Gible stares at Murkrow and charges into him, knocking him back. "Oh yeah? Murkrow, use Wing Attack!" Murkrow flies at the Gible and strikes it with his wing, sending it flying. Gible opens its mouth and a stream of green energy out of its mouth which hits Murkrow. Murkrow suddenly shudders as it becomes coated in electricity.
"Eddy! That Gible knows Dragon Breath! Murkrow's paralyzed now!" said Edd.
"Well, that stinks! But we won't let that stop us! Right, Murkrow?" asked Eddy. Murkrow turns to Eddy and nods. "Okay, Murkrow. Try using Gust!" Murkrow fights through paralysis and releases a gust of wind that hits the Gible and knocks it over. Eddy quickly takes out a pokeball and throws it at the Gible, hitting it and sucking it in. After the pokeball wiggles a few seconds, it stops and clicks. Eddy runs over and picks up the pokeball. "Gotcha, Gible."
"Well done, Eddy." said Edd. The pokeball suddenly vanishes to storage. After thinking for a while, Eddy uses his Rotom Phone to swap his Silicobra for Gible. Eddy uses his Rotom Phone to check out Gible's information.
"This says my new Gible is a girl, she knows Tackle, Sand Attack, Sand Tomb, and Dragon Breath; and she has the Sand Veil ability which makes her harder to hit during a sandstorm." said Eddy. Edd walks up to Eddy and hands him a Cheri Berry.
"Give this to Murkrow to cure him of his paralysis." said Edd.
"Thanks, Double-D." said Eddy. He feeds Murkrow the Cheri Berry, and his paralysis is instantly cured. He returns Murkrow to his pokeball and puts it, along with Gible's pokeball into his backpack. As he looks around, he notices that Ed was nowhere to be seen. "Hey. Where did Ed go?" Edd looks around and sees Ed staring at some sort of stake with a glowing yellow aura that was stuck in the ground. Edd and Eddy go over to where Ed was and examine the mysterious object.
"What do you suppose this is?" asked Edd.
"Who knows?" asked Eddy. Without thinking, Ed grabs the stake and pulls it out of the ground.
"Ed! Don't touch that! It could be dangerous!" said Edd. Suddenly, the stake crumbles into dust.
"Smooth move, lumpy! You wrecked it!" said Eddy.
"Sorry, guys." said Ed.
"I hope no one saw that and we don't get into trouble." said Eddy.
"Yes. Perhaps we should leave before we cause more damage." said Edd. The Eds leave the tunnel and continue exploring the area. While they do, Edd and Eddy also take the time to train their Pokemon. As they do, Edd's Quaxwell learned Water Pulse, his Spidops learned Block, his Nacli who already knew Tackle, Harden, Rock Throw, Mud Shot, and Smack Down; learned Rock Polish, and Headbutt. His Swablu learned Round, his Bronzor learned Hypnosis, and his Smoliv learned Flail. Eddy's Crocalor didn't learn anything, but it did get a bit stronger, his Luxio got a bit stronger; as well as his Murkrow. His Spoink learned Psybeam, and his new Gible learned Bulldoze. Eddy also found several Gimmighouls and took their coins for his Gimmighoul. The Eds travelled a bit further before deciding to stop and have some lunch.
"We're doing pretty good, boys." said Eddy as he took a bite of his sandwich.
"I agree, Eddy. We're making good progress." said Edd.
"Yeah!" said Ed. As they ate, a loud squawking sound appeared, startling them.
"Hey! What was that?!" asked Eddy. They looked around and saw a large, white, storklike Pokemon circling a nearby mountain. Edd takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Bombirdier, the Item Drop Pokemon. Bombirdier uses the apron on its chest to bundle up food, which it carries back to its nest. It enjoys dropping things that make loud noises." said the Rotom Phone.
"That Pokemon is huge!" said Eddy.
"Is that a Titan Pokemon?" asked Edd. Ed takes out his Rotom Phone and brings up his map with the locations that Arven marked on it. Edd looks at the screen. "It is in the same area as one of the spots on the map, so maybe it IS a Titan Pokemon."
"Man, I hate birds." said Eddy. The giant Bombirdier suddenly begins dropping boulders onto the path coming down from the mountain and they begin rolling downhill.
"Ed. You have to stop that Titan Pokemon." said Edd. "People and other Pokemon could get hurt from those boulders its dropping."
"Got it, Double-D." said Ed. He takes out Miraidon's pokeball and releases it. Ed climbs on.
"Ed. Bombirdier is part flying and part dark, so electric, rock, ice, and fairy type moves should work well against it." said Edd.
"Okay." said Ed.
"And with Miraidon able to dash, it should be easier for you to dodge those boulders." said Edd.
"Okay, Double D." said Ed. "Let's go, Miraidon." Miraidon folds his legs so its wheels could touch the ground. Ed begins riding Miraidon up the path.
"I hope Ed will be okay." said Eddy.
"We must have faith in him, Eddy." said Edd. Ed rides Miraidon up the path, dodging the boulders the Titan Pokemon is dropping down the hill. Thanks to Miraidon's new dash ability, dodging the boulders was easier. After riding up the path, Ed arrives at a large open area near the top of the mountain. The Titan Pokemon swoops down and hovers near the edge of the area. Ed pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Flaaffy, come on out!" said Ed, throwing Flaaffy's pokeball and releases her. The Titan Pokemon flies towards Flaaffy while its beak is glowing white and jabs Flaaffy with it, not doing much damage to her due to flying type attacks not being strong against electric type Pokemon. "Flaaffy, Thunder Wave!" Flaaffy becomes surrounded by electricity and releases electrical rings at the Titan Pokemon, paralyzing it. "Now use Thunder Shock!" Flaaffy releases electricity from her body and it hits the Titan Pokemon, causing super effective damage. The Titan Pokemon fights through its paralysis and spreads its wings, releasing large rocks and they hit Flaaffy. "Flaaffy, are you okay?" Flaaffy nods in response. "All right, Flaaffy, use Tackle!" Flaaffy leaps at the Titan Pokemon and rams into it. The Titan Pokemon raises one of its wings, but its paralysis stops it from making an attack. "Thunder Shock!" Flaaffy releases electicity from her body and it hits the Titan Pokemon, dealing super effective damage. The Titan Pokemon turns towards the side of the mountain and pecks it, breaking it and revealing a cave. Ed sees the Titan Pokemon eating a glowing green herb.
"Ed!" said a familiar voice. Ed turns to see Arven running over to him, followed by Edd and Eddy. "So you found a Titan Pokemon, huh?"
"Yep." replied Ed. Arven turned towards the giant Bombirdier. "So that's the Open Sky Titan? Was it the one dropping boulders?"
"Yes." said Edd.
"Good thing you stopped it, Ed." said Arven. "It was difficult getting up here with those boulders coming down." Arven sees the Titan Pokemon eating the herb. "Looks like it's trying to power itself up with some kinda mystical meal power. We'd better get ready, Ed."
"Right." replied Ed. Edd and Eddy go behind a large rock. The Titan Pokemon circles around Ed and Arven and stops in front of them. Green energy erupts from the Titan Pokemon and it becomes surrounded by a green aura. It was also cured of its paralyis. Arven throws a pokeball and releases a Nacli while Ed releases his Flaaffy. Ed then takes out his Tera Orb and throws it at Flaaffy. Crystal pillars come out of the ground around Flaaffy and they shatter. Flaaffy's skin and wool were now crystallized, and she now had a giant lightbulb on her head. The giant Bombirdier flies at Nacli and hits it with its wing, not doing much damage to it due to rock pokemon being resistant to flying type moves. "Flaaffy, use Charge!" Flaaffy becomes surrounded by electricity and she begins bulking up.
"Good thinking, Ed." said Edd. "Not only is Flaaffy's defense increased, but the next attack she uses will be more powerful if it's an electric type one."
"Nacli, Rock Throw." said Arven. Nacli releases rocks from its body and they hit the Titan Pokemon, doing super effective damage. The Titan Pokemon spreads its wings and releases rocks at Flaaffy, damaging her, but not as much as before due to her defense being increases.
"Careful, Ed. That Titan Pokemon probably has the Rocky Payload ability." said Edd.
"What's that?" asked Ed.
"It's an ability that powers up rock type moves." replied Edd. "So it's a good thing you used Charge to strengthen Flaaffy's defense."
"Flaaffy, Thunder Shock!" said Ed. Flaaffy releases a more powerful Thunder Shock thanks to Charge powering it up and it hits the Titan Pokemon, dealing super effective damage. The Titan Pokemon becomes surrounded by electricity and it shudders.
"Looks like Thunder Shock paralyzed that Pokemon." said Edd.
"Nacli, Smack Down!" said Arven. Nacli creates an orb of golden light and launches it at the Titan Pokemon, dealing super effective damage and knocking it to the ground. The Titan Pokemon slowly gets up and flies towards Flaaffy while its beak is glowing white, but paralysis stops it.
"Flaaffy, Thunder Shock!" said Ed. Flaaffy releases electricity from her body and it hits the Titan Pokemon, dealing super effective damage. The Titan Pokemon falls to the ground, unconscious. "You did it, Flaaffy!"
"Flaaf!" cheered Flaaffy. She returns to her original form. Edd, Eddy, and Arven walk over to Ed.
"Way to go, Ed!" said Arven.
"Splendid work." said Edd.
"You did it, monobrow!" said Eddy.
"Thanks, you guys." said Ed. Arven turns towards the cave the Titan Pokemon made and runs to it. Ed, Edd, and Eddy follow after him.
"There must be more of the Herba Mystica that Pokemon ate in here." said Arven. "Let get it before that Pokemon recovers."
"Okay." said Ed. The Eds and Arven enter the cave. Once inside, they look around until Arven sees a glowing green herb at the end of the cave.
"I knew it." said Arven. He runs over to it with the Eds following him. Once they reach the Herba Mystica, Arven examines it. "This is definitely one of the herbs." He pulls the herb out of the ground. "We did it, Ed. Thanks to you." Ed smiles in response. Arven pulls his book out of his backpack and opens it. "Let's see what this book has to say." He reads through it. "This is the Bitter Herba Mystica. It's great for your ciruclation. It really gets the blood flowing. And it warms you right up, even boosting the immune system."
"Remarkable." said Edd.
"If I can just slip this into a tasty sandwich and get him to eat some." Arven muttered. Arven begins rolling up his sleeves. "What are we waiting for? It's time to dig in."
"Yay!" cheered Ed.
"Let me whip up something." said Arven. He sets up a table and begins cooking. Minutes later, a submarine sandwich was in the middle of it. "And here you go. My special, whimsical, herb-filled super sandwich."
"Oh boy." said Ed. Arven reaches into his bag and pulls a badge with a wing symbol on it.
"And it comes with a Titan Badge as a token of my gratitue." said Arven. He gives Ed the badge.
"Thanks, Arven." said Ed. Arven also takes a picture to commemorate the occassion. The picture showed Arven with an appalled look on his face while Ed was looking at the sandwich, drooling. As Arven looks at the Eds, he takes a deep breath and pulls out a pokeball from his pocket. He throws it, releasing a large, doglike Pokemon with a trail of thick white fur going down the middle of its back, and dark brown and grayish brown fur covering the rest of its body. Stan pulls out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Mabosstiff, the Boss Pokemon, and the evolved form of Maschiff. This Pokemon can store energy in its large dewlap. Mabosstiff can unleash this energy all at once to blow away enemies." said the Rotom Phone.
"This is Mabosstiff; my partner." said Arven. "My buddy here was...hurt pretty bad a while ago. Real bad, in fact." The boys looked at Mabosstiff with concern and pity on their faces. "He never really recovered."
"Why not? Didn't the Pokemon Center have sufficient resources to heal him?" asked Edd.
"I tried, but they said it wasn't any regular injury or illness. Aside from you guys, Mabosstiff is by closest friend. I care about him more than just about anything else in the world. So, I promised him I would make him better, whatever it takes." He then kneels down to Mabostiff and starts stroking his head. "I searched online, read every book I could find, tried every known cure and remedy I could find. But nothing really worked. I almost given up hope. That's when I found out about the Herba Mystica." He shows the others a page in the book he had, and they see a page talking about the Herba Mystica. "This book is full of crazy legends and stories no one would normally believe. But I believe it! I think what the book says is true! And according to this book, eating all five Herba Mystica can cure anything that ails you! Case in point; before Mabosstiff ate the first Herba Mystica, his paws were as cold as ice. But after he ate it, they warmed up. I know they did."
"So, you're collecting the Herba Mystica to help your friend?" asked Ed.
"Yes." said Arven. Ed starts to get tears in his eyes.
"I shall keep helping you get more Herba Mystica to help your furry friend!" said Ed with a look of determination in his eyes.
"Thanks, Ed." said Arven. He then takes a sandwich and cuts it into small pieces. He puts the pieces close to Mabosstiff and he starts eating them.
"Now don't eat too fast, fella. You don't want to choke." said Butters.
"Take little bites, Mabostiff." said Ed. After Mabosstiff finished eating, they all watch him to see if anything happens. Soon, Mabosstiff stands up and opens his eyes, surprising Arven.
"I don't believe it! Mabosstiff. Did you open your eyes?! Can you see?" asked Arven.
"His eyes did appear to open." said Edd.
"Yes! We did it!" said Arven. "It's been so long since I seen your eyes open!" Arven then begins to cry. "Oh man, I-I-I'm so glad!" The others smile at Arven and Mabosstiff. Arven turns to look at the others. "Thank you for helping me heal Mabosstiff, Ed."
"You are welcome." said Ed.
"Eat up, guys. There's plenty for everyone, so eat up." said Arven. Everyone ran and each grab a sandwich. Before they can take a bite, Edd thinks of something.
"Hey. Remember when Miraidon ate an Herba Mystica sandwich last time?" asked Edd.
"Yeah. That's how it got that speed boost ability he has now." said Eddy.
"Do you think if it eats another one, it can get another ability?" asked Edd.
"Hey, yeah. Let's try it out you guys!" said Eddy as he releases Mirraidon from its pokeball. Ed takes one of his sandwiches and holds it to Miraidon's mouth. It sniffs at the sandwich before eating it in one bite. They all watch as a large surge of energy come out from Koraidon. The boys were shocked when something different happened this time. As the energy from Koraidon surged, it looked like it was clashing against something they couldn't see; kind of like an invisible wall.
"What's happening you guys?" asked Ed.
"This didn't happen before?!" said Edd. All of a sudden, large bolts of energy started erupting from the invisible wall throughout the cave and outside. They all watch as the invisible wall, along with the very air around them seem to suddenly shatter in a blinding light which forced them all to shield their eyes. A minute later, the light fades. They open their eyes and look around.
"Is everyone okay?" asked Edd. Everyone examined themselves for injuries.
"Yeah, I think so." replied Eddy. Ed then sees that they were no longer the only ones in the cavern.
"Who are they?" asked Ed. Everyone else looks to where Ed was looking and were stunned when they see ANOTHER ARVEN AND MABOSTIFF! With them were six boys they didn't recognize. They were dressed in outfits that were similar to theirs, but their pants and neckties were orange instead of purple. Two boys have blonde hair, one has black hair, one has red hair, a pudgy one had brown hair, and one had white hair. With them was a Pokemon that was similar to Miraidon, but at the same time completely different. The Pokemon was flesh and blood, it was covered mostly in red scales, and on its head and rear was red, purple, and white plumage. The other boys were all looking at them.
"Hey! Who are you guys?!" asked Eddy.
"I was going to ask you guys the same thing." replied the white-haired boy.
