Tera Raid Battles
As Lincoln, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, and Butters exited the cavern; they were talking about the intense battle they all just had with the Titan Pokemon and the horde of Klawfs.
"Man that was a lot of work." said Stan.
"Even though our Pokemon did all the fighting, I still feel tired out." said Lincoln.
"Speaking of our Pokemon, I wonder if all that battling with the Klawfs made them any stronger." said Kyle. Lincoln looks at his Rotom Phone to check out the information on his Crocalor, Rockruff, Pawmo, and Smoliv.
"Well my Pawmo evolving and learning Arm Thrust was noticeable. But he also learned Wild Charge and Bite. Crocalor got a bit stronger but didn't learn any new attacks which I'm okay with, I'm certain he'll learn new moves when he gets stronger. Smoliv learned Flail and Mega Drain, and Rockruff learned Bite." says Lincoln. The others looked at their Rotom Phones to see if their Pokemon learned any new moves.
"My Quaxwell learned Low Sweep." said Stan.
"Floragato learnd Quick Attack." said Kyle.
"Wooper's a bit stronger but didn't learn new attacks." said Kenny.
"My Crocalor didn't learn any new moves either; but my Magikarp evolving into Gyarados was super awesome!" said Cartman. "And my Rotom Phone says that Butters' Skiddo learned Synthesis which will heal her when she uses it, and his Tinkatink learned Rock Smash and Draining Kiss."
"What do those moves do, Eric?" asked Butters.
"Rock Smash is a fighting type move that has a chance of weakening the opposing Pokemon's defense, and Draining Kiss is a fairy type move that will not only damage the opposing Pokemon, but it will heal Tinkatink also." explained Cartman.
"Wow. Draining Kiss sounds like it will come in handy." said Butters. The boys look around at all the Klawfs that were starting to get up and walk away. Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball.
"What are you doing?" asked Stan.
"I don't have a Klawf for my collection. Now would be a good time to catch one while these ones are still weakened from our battle." said Lincoln. He throws the pokeball at one of the Klawfs and catches it. Following Lincoln's lead. The others each catch a Klawf for their collections as well. All their Klawfs except for Kyle and Butters were sent to storage.
"Hey. What happened to your Klawfs, fellas?" asked Butters.
"You see, Butters, trainers can only carry six Pokemon with them." said Kyle. "Any Pokemon you catch while you have six Pokemon on you gets sent someplace for storage. I already had five Pokemon with me, so my Klawf remained here with me."
"But you can use your Rotom Phone to exchange one of the Pokemon you have on you with a Pokemon from storage." said Kenny.
"Oh. Well, I hope to get my own Rotom Phone someday." said Butters. Lincoln suddenly remembered the pearls he found after his Tera Raid battle and pulls them out of his pocket. Everyone was surprised by what he had.
"Dude. Where did you get pearls?" asked Stan.
"Do you see those pillars of light?" replied Lincoln. Everyone looks around and notices them.
"Yeah. But we didn't think too much of them at first." said Kyle.
"Well. They're coming from these clusters of crystal coming out of the ground. Inside them are crystallized caverns with Terastillized Pokemon in them." explained Lincoln.
"What are Terastillized Pokemon?" asked Butters.
"They're like regular Pokemon, but they look like their skin or fur are made of crystal. Sometimes a Pokemon's Tera Form, that's what we call a Pokemon's Terastillized form, type is different from what it would normally be." explained Cartman.
"Wow. I really have a lot to learn." said Butters.
"Don't worry. You'll catch up with us soon enough." said Kenny.
"So what do those caverns have to do with you having pearls, Lincoln?" asked Stan.
"You see, after I battled the Terastillized Sunkern I found in the cavern and left it, the cluster of crystals disappeared and in their place were some items, including the pearls." said Lincoln.
"You mean we could get pearls by going into those caverns and beating the Terastillized Pokemon in them?" asked Cartman.
"Maybe. I've only done that once so I can't say for certain. But if we can get stuff like these pearls, maybe we can sell them and use the money to buy Butters his own Rotom Phone." said Lincoln.
"That's an awesome idea!" said Stan.
"Yeah, dude." said Kyle.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's get started." said Kenny. The boys run to the nearest pillar of light and see the cluster of crystals that Lincoln was talking about.
"So what now?" asked Kyle.
"See that small opening on the side?" asked Lincoln who was pointing to a hole in the side of the cluster.
"Yeah?" replied Stan.
"Just crawl into it and you'll enter the cavern." said Lincoln. Everyone does so and they soon enter a crystallized cavern.
"Just like you described it, Lincoln." said Kenny. They look around and in the center of the cavern they see a Terastillized Shellder with what looked like half of a planet on its head.
"Is that a Shellder?" asked Stan as he pulls out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Shellder.
"Shellder, the Bivalve Pokemon. It is encased in a shell that is harder than diamond. Inside, however, it is surprisingly tender." said the Rotom Phone.
"Who wants this one?" asked Kyle.
"I wouldn't mind having a water type on my team. And if I remember correctly, Shellder's evolved form, Cloyster, is part water and part ice. A dual type Pokemon would be great to have." said Kenny.
"We'll help you battle it." said Lincoln as he throws Pawmo's pokeball, releasing him. Stan lets out Quaxwell, Kyle lets out Floragato, Cartman lets out Gyarados, Kenny lets out Wooper, and Butters lets out Skiddo. "Okay, Pawmo. Use Thunder Shock." Pawmo zaps Shellder with a jolt of electricity, but to everyone's surprise, Shellder was unaffected.
"What's up? Electric type attacks are suppose to be super effective against water types." said Kyle. Then Stan remembered something that Nemona mentioned yesterday.
"Hold on, guys. Remember how Nemona mentioned that a Terastillized Pokemon's type can be different from how it normally is?" asked Stan.
"Oh yeah. Since electric type attacks have no effect on that Shellder, its Tera Form must be a ground type." said Kyle.
"So we need water, ice, and grass attacks against this one." said Lincoln.
"Quaxwell, use Aqua Jet." said Stan.
"Floragato, Magical Leaf." said Kyle.
"Hit that Shellder with Ice Fang, Gyarados." said Cartman.
"Use Slam, Wooper." said Kenny.
"Razor Leaf, Skiddo." said Butters. Quaxwell becomes surrounded by water and he flies at Sheller and crashes into it, Floragato unleashes glowing leaves at Shellder, hitting it, Gyarados lunges at Shellder while his fangs become covered in ice and he bites onto Shellder, Wooper leaps at Shellder and slams his tail into it, and Skiddo unleashes leaves and they hit Shellder. Shellder's crystalized skin shatters and it passes out. Kenny takes out an empty pokeball and he throws it at Shellder and captures it.
"Woohoo. Shellder is mine." said Kenny. The cavern brightens up with a bright light, causing the boys to shield their eyes with their arms. Seconds later, they uncovered their eyes and saw they were back in South Province Area Three.
"How did we get back here, fellas?" asked Butters.
"I think once the Pokemon in the Tera Cavern is beaten, we return to the real world." said Lincoln. "It happened to me after my first Tera Raid battle." Butters looks down and sees several berries and two small blue bags filled with sparkling pink powder.
"What are these?" asked Butters.
"I don't know." said Stan.
"Let's take them to a PokeMart. Maybe the shop clerk will know what they are." said Kyle. Butters picks up the items and the boys head for the nearest PokeMart. Once there, they go to the clerk and show him the two bags.
"Excuse me. But do you know what these are?" asked Kenny. The clerk takes the two bags and examines them.
"These are bags of Stardust. I can pay you 1,500 pokedollars for each one." said the clerk, surprising the boys.
"Wow! And since there's two bags, we can get 3,000 pokedollars!" said Kyle. Lincoln shows the two Pearls he got to the clerk.
"How much can we get for these Pearls?" asked Lincoln.
"I can give you 1,000 pokedollars for each Pearl." replied the clerk.
"That's a decent amount of money." said Lincoln. The clerk takes the Stardust and Pearls and gives the boys 5,000 pokedollars. After that, the boys walk away while looking at the money they got.
"This is so cool." said Lincoln.
"Yeah." said Kyle.
"We should definitely do more of those Tera Raid battles and get more stuff to sell until we at least get enough money to buy Butters a Rotom Phone." said Stan.
"Yeah! Let's do it." said Cartman. The boys start going all over South Province Area Three and go to all the crystal caverns they found. Stan captured a Dunsparce and Shroomish. The boys enter a Tera Cavern and saw a Terastillized Pokemon that looked like a yellow bird chick. Kyle takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Flittle, the Frill Pokemon. Flittle's toes levitate about half an inch above the ground because of the psychic power emitted from the frills on the Pokemon's belly." said the Rotom Phone.
"I'll catch this one. I could use a psychic type Pokemon." said Kyle. He examines the Flittle and saw it had what looked like a crystalized ghost on it. "Judging by the crystal ghost on Flittle, I'd say its Tera Form is a ghost type, so dark and ghost type moves should work on it." He lets out Floragato and Cartman lets out Gyarados. "Use Bite on Flittle, Floragato."
"You too, Gyarados." said Cartman. Floragato leaps at Flittle and Gyarados lunges at it and they both bite down on the Flittle, causing super effective damage due to Bite being a dark type move, which are strong against ghost types. Flittle's crystalized skin shatters and it passes out. Kyle takes out an empty pokeball and he throws it at the Flittle and catches it.
"Yes! Flittle is mine!" cheered Kyle. The boys soon returns to the real world. Kyle uses his Rotom Phone to transfer his Klawf to storage and puts Flittle in his place. Kyle then takes out his Rotom Phone to learn more about his new Flittle. "Okay. Flittle is male, he knows Growl, Peck, Confusion, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Disarming Voice. He has the Frisk ability, which lets him see what item an opposing Pokemon might be holding." He sees a small mushroom on the ground near where the Tera Cavern used to be and picks it up. "I wonder if this is worth something." The boys continue doing Tera Raid battles. Cartman caught a Bonsly and Drowzee, Kenny caught a Surskit and Nymble, and Butters caught a Pichu and Deerling. After all the Tera Raid battles, they collected a large number of Pearls, bags of Stardust, and Tiny Mushrooms. They then brought them to the nearest PokeMart and sold them all for a large amount of money.
"I think this is more than enough to buy Butters his own Rotom Phone." said Stan.
"Yeah. We'll split the extra money between us." said Kyle. They put most of the money aside for Butters' new Rotom Phone and divided the rest between the six of them.
"Thanks, fellas." said Butters.
"So what do we do now?" asked Kenny.
"Well we can go to Mesagoza and buy Butters his Rotom Phone." said Kyle. "What are you going to do, Lincoln?" Lincoln looks at his Rotom Phone's map.
"Well this says there's another gym close by in a city called Artazon. Maybe I can check it out and challenge the gym leader." said Lincoln.
"Okay, dude. The rest of us will go to Mesagoza." said Kyle.
"Maybe we can check out the Cortondo gym after we buy Butters a Rotom Phone." said Cartman.
"What can you tell us about the gym, Lincoln?" asked Stan.
"I don't want to spoil the surprise. But I'm certain you guys can easily handle what the gym has to throw at you, especially after all the experience we got from battling all those Klawfs, including that Titan one." said Lincoln.
"Yeah." said Kenny.
"See you later, guys. It was nice meeting you Butters." said Lincoln.
"It was nice meeting you too, Lincoln." said Butters.
"I'm certain we'll meet again down the road." said Stan.
"I know we will." said Lincoln. Lincoln and the others go their seperate ways for now with Lincoln heading east and the others heading back to Mesagoza. As Lincoln headed down a dirt road, he notices another crystal den nearby. "Maybe I'll check that den out and see what's inside. Lincoln crawls into the opening and enters the crystal cavern. He looks around and was surprised when he didn't see anything at first. But he notices an orange flower in the center of the cavern. When Lincoln got close to it, he notices a small white crystallized Pokemon with a green lower body, two long notched ears extending from the sides of its head, a pointed nose, a tail and several beads of pollen encircling its head like a crown, sitting on the flower. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Flabebe, the Single Bloom Pokemon. This Flabebe rides an orange flower. On its head, it wears a crown of pollen that has healing properties." said the Rotom Phone. Upon closer observation, Lincoln notices a crystallized hatchet sticking out of Flabebe's head.
"I wonder what your Tera Form is." says Lincoln. "I'm guessing that since hatchet blades are made of metal, your Tera Form must be steel." Lincoln looks at Flabebe and notices it staring at him with a cute look on its face. "I don't feel right about attacking you, but I wouldn't mind having you on my team. Maybe Crocalor's Yawn attack will help." Lincoln takes out Crocalor's pokeball and releases him from it. "Okay, Crocalor. Use Yawn." Crocalor yawns which makes Flabebe yawn itself in response. A minute later, Flabebe falls asleep. Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Flabebe. The ball hits and sucks in Flabebe, successfully capturing it. Lincoln picks up the pokeball and looks at it with a smile on his face. "All right. I caught Flabebe." The cavern lights up and Lincoln finds himself back on the surface. After he picks up the berries and the two bags of Stardust the crystal clusters left behind, Flabebe's pokeball was sent to storage. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to swap the Smoliv he had with him for Flabebe. Once that was done, Lincoln looks up his new Flabebe's information. "Okay, this says that Flabebe is a girl, she knows Vine Whip, Tackle, Fairy Wind, and Safeguard. She also has the Flower Veil which protects ally grass type Pokemon from status conditions and stat-lowering effects." Lincoln decides to set camp for the night. He lets out his Pokemon and he starts making sandwiches for them and himself. As he makes sandwiches, he takes the time to bond with his new Flabebe. "Hi, Flabebe. I want to just take this moment to welcome you to the team. I like the flower you have with you; orange is my favorite color." Flabebe looks at Lincoln with a smile, hops onto his shoulder, and starts nuzzling his cheek, making Lincoln laugh. After dinner, Lincoln returns all his Pokemon, except for Flabebe, to their pokeballs. Seeing the confused look on Flabebe's face, Lincoln figured she wondered why she wasn't returned to her pokeball. "Just wanted you to sleep with me tonight so we can bond better. Are you okay with that?" Flabebe nods in response and the two enter the tent with Lincoln getting into his sleeping bag and Flabebe lying on top of it. Lincoln looks at Flabebe and smiles, then the two drift off to sleep.
