Artazon Gym Battle
The next morning at Naranja/Uva Academy, the Eds got dressed and went to the cafeteria to grab some breakfast. As they ate, they went over their plan for today.
"So are we gonna go to Artazon to get my next gym badge?" asked Eddy.
"Yes. Now that that Team Star base is out of the way, we can focus on your gym battle." said Edd.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"So what Pokemon are you going to use in your gym battle, Eddy?" asked Ed.
"I believe Lincoln told you yesterday that the Artazon gym leader uses grass type Pokemon; so, your Crocalor and Murkrow would have an advantage." said Edd.
"Okay." said Eddy. After breakfast, the Eds went back to their dorm rooms and grabbed their backpacks. They all meet at the academy's front doors and exit through them. As they walk down the stairs, they see Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Cartman, Butters, and a boy they haven't seen before walking up them.
"Greetings, gentlemen." said Edd.
"Hey, dude." said Kyle. Edd then looks towards the unknown boy.
"Who is your friend?" asked Edd. Kyle looks at the boy.
"This is Trent Boyett." said Kyle.
"You mean the boy you got sent to juvie?" asked Eddy.
"Yeah." said Stan with a look of shame. The boy now known as Trent stares at the Eds.
"Why do they have different colored pants than yours?" asked Trent.
"We'll tell you later." said Kyle.
"So what are you guys up to?" asked Kenny.
"We were just heading for Artazon so Eddy can try earning his next gym badge." said Edd.
"Oh." said Stan.
"Well, we're gonna get Trent here enrolled here." said Kyle.
"So, you all made peace?" asked Edd.
"In a way." said Stan as he rubbed his forearm.
"I see." said Edd. "Well have a pleasant day." With that, the two groups went on to do their own things. Once the Eds exited the academy, Ed lets Miraidon out of his pokeball and they climb onto him.
"Hey, Ed. Before we head to Artazon, I want to stop by Delibird Presents. I want to buy one of those Sharp Beaks for Murkrow." said Eddy.
"Okay, Eddy." said Ed. They ride Miraidon through Mesagoza until they arrived at Delibird Presents. Eddy hops off Miraidon and went into Delibird Presents while Ed and Edd waited on Miraidon. A minute later, Eddy walks out of Delibird Presents with a Sharp Beak in his hand. He lets Murkrow out of his pokeball and gives him the Sharp Beak. After returning Murkrow to his pokeball, Eddy climbs back onto Miraidon.
"Okay, before we get to Artazon, I want to fight a couple of Tera Raid battles." said Eddy. "I'm practically broke, so I want to find some stuff to sell for more loot."
"You got it, Eddy." said Ed. They ride Miraidon out through the east gate and arrive in South Province Area Three. They ride through the area while Eddy looks around for a Tera Den until he sees one.
"Hey! There's a Tera Den!" said Eddy. Ed turns Miraidon towards the Tera Den and ride over to it. They hopped off Miraidon and enter the den, being blinded by bright light. When the light faded, the Eds open their eyes to see a light brown crocodilelike Pokemon with black stripes. Eddy takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Sandile, the Desert Croc Pokemon. They live hidden under hot desert sands in order to keep their body temperature from dropping." said the Rotom Phone. On top of the Sandile was a cut through model of the Earth, indicating Sandile's Tera Form was a ground type.
"It seems that Sandile's Tera Form is a ground type." said Edd. "So, Water and Grass type attacks should work on it." He, along with Ed and Eddy take out a pokeball.
"Come on out, Floragato!" said Ed as he throws Floragato's pokeball and releases him.
"Smoliv, please assist!" said Edd as he throws Smoliv's pokeball and releases her.
"Let's go, Murkrow!" said Eddy, throwing Murkrow's pokeball and releases him.
"Good thinking, Eddy. Flying types are immune to ground type attacks." said Edd.
"Floragato, Magical Leaf!" said Ed. Floragato leaps into the air and spreads his arms, releasing glowing green leaves and they hit Sandile, doing super effective damage.
"Smoliv, use Razor Leaf!" said Edd. Smoliv releases green leaves from her body, and they hit Sandile, doing super effective damage.
"Murkrow, finish this with Wing Attack!" said Eddy. Murkrow flies at Sandile and strikes it with his wing. Sandile's crystal skin and half Earth shatter and it stumbles around. Eddy takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Sandile, crystalizing as it got closer to it. It hits Sandile and sucks it in. After the pokeball wiggled around a few times, it stops and clicks, indicating Sandile's capture. "Sweet. Sandile is mine!" The pokeball vanishes. The Eds exit the den and it shatters apart. Eddy sees a pearl and a few berries on the ground and picks them up.
"Let's be on our way, gentlemen." said Edd. They all hop onto Miraidon and continue heading east. As they do, they keep their eyes open for Gimmighouls. They find several of them and get fifty Gimmighoul coins for Eddy's Gimmighoul. Soon they reach Artazon.
"We're finally here, Eddy." said Edd.
"Finally! said Eddy. "Now let's look for the Pokemon League building." They all explore Artazon in search of the Pokemon League building. As Edd looked around, he notices all the sculptures that were in the western part of the city.
"Look at all this exquisite artwork. It really puts the art in Art-azon." said Edd as he chuckles at his pun.
"Yeah, yeah. You can stare at it later; now help me find that building." said Eddy. Edd lets out a sigh.
"Some people don't appreciate art." said Edd. They kept walking around until they soon found the Pokemon League building. Eddy runs towards it with his friends following after him. Eddy burst into the lobby and goes up to the front desk.
"Hello, young man." said the receptionist. "What can I do for you today?"
"I'm Eddy, the future Paldea League champion, and I'm here to earn my second gym badge." said Eddy with a large grin.
"Very well. I'll just need your information and I can get you registered for your Gym Test." said the receptionist.
"Sweet." said Eddy. He gives the receptionist the information she wanted, who then puts it into the computer.
"Okay, young man. You're registered to begin your Gym Test. That mean completing a game of Sunflora Hide-and-Seek." said the receptionist.
"All I need to do is play Hide-and-Seek?" asked Eddy. "That sounds easy!"
"I'm certain that you've noticed that Artazon is a city of artists." said the receptionist.
"Yes. I noticed the sculptures around the city." said Edd.
"Yes. A lot of the artwork is mostly inspired by nature and the sun that nurtures it. That's why we gather Sunflora because they embody those concepts." said the receptionist. "So your task is to gather Sunflora that are hidden all over the city and bring them to the Sunflora Lawn."
"Pardon me. But what do these Sunflora look like, just so Eddy knows." said Edd.
"Oh. They look like sun-shaped flowers." said the receptionist.
"I see." said Edd.
"To begin your Gym Test, go to the Sunflora Lawn, and talk to the staff member that's there and she'll get you started." said the staff member.
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"To get to the Sunflora Lawn, just head right, after you leave this building; you can't miss it." said the receptionist.
"Let's go, boys." said Eddy as he runs out of the building with Ed and Edd following after him. They soon reach the Sunflora Lawn and go up to the staff member.
"Hello. Are you here for your Gym Test?" asked the staff member.
"You bet. So, when do I start?" asked Eddy.
"We can start now. All you need to do is find at least 10 Sunfloras and bring them here." said the staff member.
"Easy as pie!" said Eddy. With that, Eddy starts running around Artazon in search of Sunfloras. It wasn't as easy as he thought, considering that some statues in the city looked like Sunfloras. He also got lost in the hedge maze that's in the city but found a couple Sunfloras in the process. It took half an hour, but he found 10 Sunfloras and brought them to the Sunflora Farm.
"Congratulations. You have found 10 Sunfloras." said the staff member.
"Yeah. Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be." said Eddy.
"Well, you still passed your Gym Test. Report to the receptionist at the Pokemon League building and you'll be able to challenge the Artazon gym leader." said the staff member.
"Let's go, boys!" said Eddy as he runs back to the Pokemon League building. He enters the lobby and goes to the receptionist.
"Hello. I was just notified that you successfully passed your Gym Test. Congratulations." said the receptionist.
"So when can I battle the gym leader?" asked Eddy.
"Whenever you're ready." said the receptionist.
"Sweet! Let's do it right now!" said Eddy.
"Very well. Go to the center of Artazon and climb up to the top of the stage that has the windmill on it." said the receptionist. The Eds exit the building and go to where the receptionist told them to. They go to the top of the stage and look around for the gym leader.
"So where is the gym leader?" asked Eddy as he looked around some more.
"Greetings, challenger!" said a voice from above them. They look up and see a man with pale skin, green hair, wearing a crimson jacket with yellowish green thorn designs on it, black pants, green shoes, and on his waist was a thorny whip, standing on one of the windmill's blades. He leaps off the windmill and lands on the stage.
"Cool." said Ed.
"I am Brassius, the Artazon gym leader." said the man now known as Brassius. "I observed your Gym Test from the top of the windmill."
"I was great, wasn't I." said Eddy.
"You're searching style was a little...helter-skelter. You got lost in the hedge maze for a short while;" said Brassius, making Eddy growl. "But you did complete the Gym Test and have earned the right to challenge me." A referee steps out onto the battle arena.
"This will be a three-on-three battle between the Gym Leader, Brassius, and the challenger, Eddy. Both trainers will battle until all three of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. The last trainer to have any Pokemon remaining will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the referee. Brassius then takes a pokeball out of his pocket, making Eddy do the same. Brassius throws his pokeball, releasing a green, bulblike Pokemon with three small green leaves on its head. Edd points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Petilil, the Bulb Pokemon. If the leaves on its head are pruned with regularity, this Pokémon can be grown into a fine plump shape." said the Rotom Phone. Eddy throws his pokeball and releases his Murkrow.
"Okay, Murkrow!" said Eddy. "Use Peck!" Murkrow flies at the Petilil and pecks at its face, doing super effective damage.
"Petilil, use Stun Spore!" said Brassius. The Petilil releases a cloud of yellow dust from its head which covers Murkrow, paralyzing him.
"Oh yeah?!" responds Eddy. "Murkrow! Use Wing Attack!" Murkrow tries to fly at Petilil, but paralysis kicks in, stopping it mid-flight.
"Petilil, use Charm!" said Brassius. Petilil flutters its eyes, making Murkrow nervous, and lowering his attack power.
"Come on, Murkrow! Use Wing Attack!" said Eddy. This time, Murkrow fights through his paralysis and manages to hit Petilil, knocking it out.
"Petilil is unable to battle. Murkrow is the winner." said the referee.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. Brassius returns his Petilil to its pokeball.
"You were splendid, Petilil." said Brassius as he puts Petilil's pokeball away and pulls out another one. He throws it and releases a Smoliv.
"Look, Double-D." said Ed. "Brassius has a Smoliv, too."
"I can see that, Ed." said Edd.
"Smoliv, use Growth!" said Brassius. Smoliv becomes surrounded by green energy and its attack and special attack strength increases.
"Murkrow, Peck!" said Eddy. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Murkrow from attacking.
"Smoliv, Tackle!" said Brassius. Smoliv leaps at Murkrow and rams it, knocking it to the ground. Murkrow gets back up.
"Murkrow, Gust!" said Eddy. Murkrow breaks through his paralysis and flaps his wings, releasing a strong gust of wind and it hits Smoliv, causing super effective damage. Smoliv struggles to get up.
"Smoliv, Flail!" said Brassius. Smoliv flails around and its head hits Murkrow. He falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Murkrow!" exclaimed Eddy.
"Murkrow is unable to battle. Smoliv is the winner." said the referee.
"Magnificent work, Smoliv." said Brasssius.
"Flail is quite the attack." said Edd. "The lower the user's stamina is, the stronger the move becomes." Eddy returns Murkrow to his pokeball and pulls out another one.
"Oh yeah! Let's see that overgrown vegetable handle this!" said Eddy. "Let's go, Crocalor!" He throws Crocalor's pokeball and releases him. "Hit that Smoliv with Incinerate!" Crocalor opens his mouth and unleashes a fireball out from it and it hits Smoliv, knocking it out.
"No, Smoliv!" said Brassius.
"Smoliv is unable to battle. Crocalor wins." said the referee.
"Great work, Crocalor." said Eddy. Brassius returns Smoliv to its pokeball.
"You were incredible, Smoliv." said Brassius. He puts Smoliv's pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. He throws it and releases a treelike Pokemon. Eddy takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Sudowoodo, the Imitation Pokemon. To avoid being attacked, it does nothing but mimic a tree. It hates water and flees from rain." said the Rotom Phone.
"Why would Brassius use that Pokemon?" asked Edd. "It's not even a grass type, unless..." Brassius brings out a Tera Orb. "he Terastilizes it." Brassius throws the Tera Orb at Sudowoodo and crystal pillars rise up from the ground around it and shatter. Sudowoodo now had crystal skin and had crystal flowers on its head. Eddy pulls his Tera Orb out of his pocket.
"Two can play that game!" said Eddy. He throws his Tera Orb at Crocalor and terastilizes him.
"Sudowoodo, Slam!" said Brassius. Sudowoodo leaps at Crocalor and hits him with one of its arms, knocking him back.
"Crocalor, Ember!" said Eddy. Crocalor opens its mouth and unleashes bits of fire at Sudowoodo, hitting it, causing super effective damage. Sudowoodo was suddenly surrounded by a thin layer of fire.
"Looks like Sudowoodo has been burned, so now its attack has weakened." said Edd. Eddy smirks. Sudowoodo flinches from its burns.
"Sudowoodo, Rock Throw!" said Brassius. Sudowoodo releases rocks from its body and they hit Crocalor, causing super effective damage. As Crocalor struggled to stay on his feet, he was surrounded by an orange aura.
"Eddy! Crocalor's Blaze ability has activated!" said Edd.
"Sweet! Okay, Crocalor, use Incinerate!" said Eddy. Crocalor unleashes a bigger fireball than the previous one and it blasts Sudowoodo, causing super effective damage, knocking Sudowoodo to the ground. As Sudowoodo struggles to stand back up, it winces from its burn from Ember. It was too much for Sudowoodo and it passes out, his crystal skin and flowers shatter.
"Sudowoodo!" said Brassius.
"Sudowoodo is unable to battle. Crocalor wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Eddy." said the referee.
"We win!" cheered Eddy. Crocalor returns to his original form and sighs in relief. Brassius returns Sudowoodo to its pokeball.
"You were magnificient, Sudowoodo." said Brassius. He walks up to Eddy. "Although your Sunflora finding skills were bland, you're battling style was full of passion!"
"Uhhh. Thanks?" replied Eddy. Brassius reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a gym badge with a design looking like blades of grass, along with some pokedollars.
"As proof of your victory, here is your Artazon gym badge." said Brassius. Eddy happily accepts the badge and pokedollars.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. Ed and Edd run up to Eddy and congratulate him.
"You did good, Eddy!" said Ed.
"You and your Pokemon were splendind!" said Edd.
"How about a picture of us to commerate this occasion?" asked Brassius.
"I never turn down a photo-op." said Eddy.
"Especially when it's your picture being taken." said Edd with a smirk.
"Zip it, sockhead!" said Eddy. They then take a picture together with Eddy and Brassius in front of the windmill, standing back-to-back with their arms crossed across their chests. Eddy looks at the picture with a smile on his face. "I think pictures look more awesome when I'm in them."
"Enjoy your new gym badge." said Brassius. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to help my double with a sculpture we were working on."
"Oh yeah." said Edd. "Almost everyone has doubles of themselves."
"Indeed." said Brassius. "It makes getting through all our gym battles go a lot quicker."
Later at the Pokemon Center, the Eds were going over what they were going to do next while their Pokemon were being treated.
"So, what now?" asked Ed.
"Well, the nearest gym is the one in Levincia." said Edd.
"Isn't that Iono's gym?" asked Eddy.
"Indeed, it is." said Edd.
"Sweet! I'll get to be in one of her livestream videos like Lincoln got to." said Eddy.
"We'll see, Eddy." said Edd.
