Getting Trent Started
After riding through South Province Area Three, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, Butters, and Trent arrived in Mesagoza. Trent looked around in awe.
"Wow. This city looks nice." said Trent.
"Yep. Biggest city in Paldea." said Stan. He, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, and Butters lead Trent to the stairs that lead to the gates of the academy.
"That's a lot of stairs." said Trent.
"Yeah. We have to climb up these, every school day." said Kenny.
"It pisses me off." said Cartman.
"Everything pisses you off." said Kenny.
"Pokemon don't piss me off!" said Cartman.
"I guess." said Kenny.
"Come on guys." said Stan. As they head up the stairs, they see the Eds climbing down them.
"Greetings, gentlemen." said Edd.
"Hey, dude." said Kyle. Edd then looks towards Trent.
"Who is your friend?" asked Edd. Kyle looks over at Trent.
"This is Trent Boyett." said Kyle.
"You mean the boy you got sent to juvie?" asked Eddy.
"Yeah." said Stan with a look of shame. Trent stares at the Eds.
"Why do they have different colored pants than yours?" asked Trent.
"We'll tell you later." said Kyle.
"So, what are you guys up to?" asked Kenny.
"We were just heading for Artazon so Eddy can try earning his next gym badge." said Edd.
"Oh." said Stan.
"Well, we're gonna get Trent here enrolled here." said Kyle.
"So, you all made peace?" asked Edd.
"In a way." said Stan as he rubbed his forearm.
"I see." said Edd. "Well have a pleasant day." With that, the two groups went on to do their own things. The boys soon reach the top of the stairs. Trent was amazed by how nice Naranja/Uva Academy looked.
"This is a school?! It looks like a..." Trent started to say.
"Palace?" replied Kyle. Trent looks at Kyle with surprise.
"Yeah. How did you know?" asked Trent.
"We all thought the same thing when we first saw this place." explained Kyle. They all enter the main entrance and Stan sees his mom at the front desk.
"Hey, Mom." said Stan.
"Hello, sweetie." said Sharon. She then sees Trent Boyett. "Who's this?" Stan looked uncomfortable.
"This is Trent Boyett." said Stan, surprising Sharon.
"Trent Boyett?! That boy from your old preschool class who set your teacher on fire?!" asked Sharon. Stan and his friends look at each other.
"Mom? Can we talk about that later today?" asked Stan. Sharon looked at Stan with confusion.
"Okay." said Sharon. Later that night at the Broflovski residence, the boys, except Trent were sitting on the sofa while and Trent was standing next to it, while Sharon, Sheila, and Liane were standing in front of them.
"Okay, you boys said you want to tell us something involving Trent here?" asked Sheila.
"Yeah, Mom. We...have a long overdue confession to make." said Kyle. The boys went to to explain how Trent started the fire because they asked him to because they wanted to play "fireman" and thought they could put out the fire. They then admitted how Cartman caused Miss Claridge's chair to go out of control and caused is to crash into a propane store which set her on fire, and a pet store causing her to be attacked by cats and letting Trent take the blame for it and getting him sent back to juvie because of it. It was needless to say that Sharon, Sheila, and Liane were most furious with their boys.
"I can't believe you boys would do something like that!" exclaimed Sharon.
"We're sorry." said Kyle, looking down.
"Sorry is not going to give back the five years you took away from this young man!" yelled Sheila.
"I already punished them, ma'am." said Trent.
"Whatever you did, I don't think it's enough!" said Sharon.
"And Butters, you should've told the police what really happened that day." said Liane.
"I thought my parents would punish me for being involved." said Butters.
"I don't think your parents would punish you for saving an innocent person from Juvenile Hall." said Sheila.
"I guess." said Butters with guilt.
"As your punishment, for the next six months; half the money you boys get from Pokemon Battles and selling stuff you find in Tera Dens goes to Trent." said Sharon.
"What?!" said Cartman. Stan quickly covers his mouth.
"Yes, Mom." said Stan. He and the others pull some money out of their pockets. "We already decided to help Trent get enrolled at the academy."
"Well, that's very nice of you boys." said Sheila. Sharon takes the money from the boys.
"I'll take care of getting Trent enrolled." said Sharon as she and the other moms walked out the door after giving the boys one last look of disapproval.
"Wow. We really messed up." said Stan.
"I can't believe we have to give Trent half our money for six months!" said Cartman.
"Be grateful that's our punishment; it could've been a lot worse." said Kyle.
"Like how my parents punish me." said Butters.
"Just do some more Tera Raid Battles to get stuff to sell to break even." said Kyle.
"Fine." said Cartman. A couple hours later, Sharon returns from Naranja/Uva Academy.
"Okay. Trent's enrolled now and he can still join the Treasure Hunt assignment." said Sharon.
"That's cool." said Stan. Sharon reaches into her purse and pulls out a keycard.
"Here you are, Trent." said Sharon as she hands Trent the keycard. "That keycard will get you into your dorm room. There should be some uniforms and pajamas in there for you by now."
"Thank you, ma'am." said Trent.
"And you four can start making it up to Trent by helping him catch a Pokemon to help him." said Sheila.
"He already caught one right before we came back here." said Kyle.
"Oh. Well, that's good." said Liane. Sharon gives the boys a stern look.
"Well, you boys better get started." said Sharon. The boys quickly leave with Trent following after them. Once outside, they go over their plans.
"So, what now?" asked Kyle.
"Well let's head back to the academy and get Trent one of his new uniforms to wear." said Stan.
"Okay, dude." said Kyle. They all head back to the academy and look for Trent's new dorm room. When they find it, they let him go in so he can shower and get dressed. While they wait, Kenny looks at videos on his Rotom Phone. Twenty minutes later, Trent's dorm room door opens and a clean Trent Boyett, now in a Naranja Academy uniform, walks out.
"So how do you feel now, Trent?" asked Kenny.
"Very good." said Trent. "So, what do we do now?"
"Well, we can start by helping you catch Pokemon for your team." said Stan.
"How do we do that?" asked Trent.
"First we should buy you some pokeballs." said Stan. They all exit the academy and head for the nearest Pokemon Center. Once there, Stan buys Trent ten pokeballs and five Potions.
"Where should we go to catch Trent some Pokemon?" asked Kyle.
"Let's go to South Province Area Three." said Stan. "It's on the way to Artazon."
"Good call, dude." said Kyle. They all exit through the east gate and enter South Province Area Three. They look around for some Pokemon to capture, as well as teach Trent the basics of Pokemon training. As they look around, they see a small lake and decide to check it out. Upon examination, they see a green fishlike Pokemon with white fins, a black stripe going down its back and in front of its face with a blue stripe on each side of it. Stan takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the new Pokemon.
"Basculin, the Hostile Pokemon. These Pokémon form schools with others of the same color. The greatest foe of a school of blue Basculin is a school of red Basculin." said the Rotom Phone.
"How about this one?" asked Kyle. Trent looks at the Pokemon and sees how sharp its teeth looked.
"This one looks dangerous. I like it." said Trent. "So, what now?"
"Well to make it easier to capture, have your Mankey battle it to wear it out." said Kyle. Trent takes out his Mankey's pokeball and examines it.
"How do I let the Mankey out?" asked Trent.
"You just toss the pokeball." said Stan. Trent nods and tosses Mankey's pokeball, releasing him from it. "You have to tell Mankey what attacks to do."
"What attacks does Mankey know again?" asked Trent. After they remind him what Mankey's attacks were, Trent turns around and stares down the Basculin.
"Get it, Trent!" said Butters.
"Okay. Mankey, use that Leer attack." said Trent. Mankey glares harshly at Basculin, making it nervous and lowering its defense.
"Good move, Trent. Leer makes the defense of the Pokemon it's used on weaker, so it won't handle getting hit as it normally would." All of a sudden, Basculin leaps out of the water and bites down on Mankey.
"I think that was Bite." said Kyle. "Good thing dark type moves like it are not very effective against fighting types like Mankey." Trent looked a little confused.
"What do you mean 'types'?" asked Trent.
"Don't worry. You'll learn as you keep travelling." said Kyle. Basculin became engulfed in water, and it flies at Mankey, slamming into him.
"That was Aqua Jet!" said Stan. Trent growls in frustration.
"Okay, Mankey! Let's try your Fury Swipes!" said Trent. Mankey leaps at Basculin and unleashes a barrage of slashes on it. "Now use Low Kick!" Mankey then swings his leg at Basculin's belly and lands a hard kick to it. Basculin was soon struggling to stay afloat.
"He's weakened enough, Trent! Catch it!" said Stan. Trent takes out a pokeball and throws it at the Basculin, hitting it and sucking it in. After a few seconds of wiggling, the pokeball clicks, indicating a successful capture.
"You did it, Trent!" said Butters. The pokeball floats over the water to the shore, allowing Trent to pick it up.
"I caught a Basculin!" said Trent.
"Good work, Trent!" said Stan. He looks at his Rotom Phone and looks up Basculin's information. "This says that your Basculin's a girl, she knows Tail Whip, Water Gun, Tackle, Flail, Aqua Jet, and Bite. She has the Rock Head ability which makes it so she doesn't suffer recoil damage from moves that normally cause it."
"Sounds like I have a lot to learn." said Trent. "But that was so much fun!"
"Yeah. Being a Pokemon Trainer is awesome!" said Kenny.
"Yeah!" said Cartman.
"Let's find some more Pokemon for my team!" said Trent with enthusiasm.
"You got it, dude." said Kyle.
"Hey. What's that Pokemon?" asked Trent. The others turn to see a grayish-green, bipedal Pokemon with straight tusks coming out of the sides of its mouth walking by. Cartman takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Axew, the Tusk Pokemon. This Pokémon lives in nests that are made in the ground. People in ancient times used its tusks as cooking knives." said the Rotom Phone. Trent turns towards Mankey.
"Okay, Mankey, help me catch this Pokemon." said Trent. Mankey nods in response. "Okay, use Focus Energy!" Mankey becomes surrounded by a red aura. Axew turns towards Mankey. It looks at Mankey and leers at him while its eyes glow blue.
"Looks like Axew knows Leer, also." said Kenny.
"Use Low Kick!" said Trent. Mankey leaps at Axew and kicks it hard in its chest, knocking it to the ground. Axew gets back up, runs at Mankey and slashes him with one of its tusks, landing a critical hit. Mankey drops to one knee. He glares angrily at Axew and he becomes surrounded by a red aura.
"That Axew must've landed a critical hit on Mankey." said Kyle. "That activated Mankey's Anger Point ability."
"You mean Mankey is so pissed off from being hit with a critical attack he becomes stronger?" asked Cartman.
"Yeah." replied Kyle.
"Mankey, Seismic Toss!" said Trent. Mankey runs over to Axew and grabs it. Mankey then leaps up into the air and throws Axew down onto the ground, causing it to shake.
"I think you can catch it now, Trent." said Butters. Trent takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Axew, hitting it. It gets sucked into the pokeball and after it wiggles around for a few seconds, it clicks, indicating Axew's capture.
"All right!" cheered Trent, raising his arms. He runs over to Axew's pokeball and picks it up. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to learn about Trent's new Axew.
"Okay, it says Axew is a dragon type Pokemon." said Kenny.
"Cool. Dragon type Pokemon are pretty strong." said Kyle. Trent smiles in response.
"Your Axew is a boy, he knows Scratch, Leer, Bite, False Swipe, Assurance, Taunt, and Slash; and he has the Rivalry ability, which makes his attacks stronger if he hits a pokemon that's the same gender as him, but weaker it he hits a Pokemon that's the opposite gender."
"In other words, his attacks will hurt more if he hits a boy and will hurt less if he hits a girl." said Kyle.
"We should get your Pokemon to a Pokemon Center, Trent." said Stan.
"Okay." said Trent. They make their way to the nearest Pokemon Center to get Trent's Pokemon treated.
"So, what do we do while we wait for Trent's Pokemon to be treated?" asked Kenny.
"Maybe tell me about all the stuff you've been through during this Treasure Hunt assignment of yours." said Trent.
"Sure. Let's have lunch as we do." said Stan. They spent half an hour eating and telling Trent all the stuff they've done for the last few days.
"You got two Paldeas merged together?" asked Trent.
"It's not like we did it on purpose." said Butters.
"Right now, Professor Sada and Professor Turo are trying to separate our universes and get things back to normal." said Stan. Kenny decides to look at videos on his Rotom Phone and sees one that gets his attention.
"Hey, guys. Check this out." said Kenny. Everyone gathers around Kenny's Rotom Phone and watch a video of Lincoln battling the Cascarrafa gym leader.
"Damn. Lincoln kicked that gym leader's ass." said Cartman.
"And he only needed one Pokemon to do it." said Kyle.
"Why is he holding that baby in his arms?" asked Kenny.
"Who knows? We'll ask him later." said Kyle.
"You know that white-haired boy?" asked Trent.
"Yeah. His name is Lincoln Loud. He's a friend we made here in Paldea." said Stan.
"Why does he have white hair?" asked Trent.
"He doesn't know. He was born with it." said Stan.
"But that doesn't matter to him or any of us." said Kenny.
"Yeah. He's still cool." said Cartman.
"We're really far behind Lincoln right now." said Stan. "He has four badges while each of us only has one."
"We really need to start winning more gym badges." said Kyle.
"Totally." said Cartman. When Trent gets his Pokemon back, they continue heading east towards Artazon. Along the way, Trent sees a cluster of crystals nearby.
"What's that?" asked Trent. The boys look and see the crystals Trent saw.
"That's a Tera Raid Den." said Kyle.
"What's a Tera Raid Den?" asked Trent.
"It'll be easier to explain by showing you." said Stan. They go over to the Tera Raid Den and enter it. Upon entering, Trent was amazed how big it looked on the inside.
"Looked smaller from the outside." said Trent.
"Hey, guys. Check it out." said Kyle. They look to see a black, doglike Pokemon with white bands around its ankles, two white ridges along its back, a white, skull-shaped mark on its head, and a crystallized half Earth on its head. Stan takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Houndour, the Dark Pokemon. It is smart enough to hunt in packs. It uses a variety of cries for communicating with others." said the Rotom Phone.
"This one looks cool." said Trent.
"Then catch it." said Kyle.
"We'll help with this one." said Stan as he releases his Quaxwell. Kyle Arrokuda, Kenny releases his Shellder, Cartman releases his Gyarados, Butters releases his Mudbray, and Trent releases his Basculin. "All right, Quaxwell; use Aqua Cutter!"
"Arrokuda, use Aqua Jet!" said Kyle.
"Shellder, use Water Gun!" said Kenny.
"Gyarados, use Brine!" said Cartman.
"Mudbray, use Bulldoze!" said Butters.
"Basculin, use Aqua Jet!" said Trent. All their Pokemon unleashed their attacks at the same time, doing enough damage to dispel its Tera Form.
"Catch it!" said Stan. Trent takes out a pokeball and throws it at the Houndour. Trent watches as the pokeball becomes coated in crystals which combine making a big one. The crystal-encased pokeball hits the Houndour and sucks it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture. Trent runs over and picks up the pokeball.
"I caught a Houndour!" said Trent. A bright light fills the cavern and the boys soon find themselves back outside. Looking around, Trent sees some berries and a couple Pearls.
"That stuff is yours, dude." said Kyle. Trent picks it up and puts them in his pocket.
"You can sell those Pearls for 1,000 pokedollars each." said Stan. Cartman looks at his Rotom Phone for information on Trent's new Houndour.
"Okay. This says Trent's new Houndour is a girl, she knows Leer, Ember, Howl, Smog, Roar, Bite, and Incinerate. She has the Flash Fire ability which makes her fire move stronger, along with being immune to fire type moves after she's hurt by another Pokemon's fire type move." said Cartman. Trent nods in response. The boys look ahead and see Artazon up ahead.
"It's finally time for our Artazon gym battle." said Stan.
"It's about time!" said Cartman. With that, the boys enter Artazon for their long-awaited gym battles.
