Artazon Gym Battles (Part One)
The boys make their way to the Pokemon League building in Artazon to do their gym battles.
"Finally. We're going to get our second gym badges." said Kyle.
"Take it easy, Kyle." said Stan. "We have to do our Gym Tests and battles first."
"I know, dude." said Kyle. Kenny then turns to Trent.
"You gonna do a gym battle?" Kenny asked Trent. Trent thinks for a minute.
"Maybe I'll wait until I get the hang of this Pokemon stuff before I try." said Trent.
"Good call, dude." said Kyle. They soon reach the Pokemon League building and enter it. They then go to the front desk and talk to the receptionist there.
"Hi." said Stan. "We're here to do our gym battles."
"Very well. I'll just need your information and I can get you registered for your Gym Test." said the receptionist.
"Okay." said Stan. He, Kyle, Kenny, Cartman, and Butters give the receptionist the information she wanted, who then puts it into the computer.
"So, which of you boys will be going first?" asked the receptionist. Kenny steps forward.
"I'll go first." said Kenny.
"Okay, young man. You're registered to begin your Gym Test. That mean completing a game of Sunflora Hide-and-Seek." said the receptionist.
"What's that?" asked Stan.
"I'm certain that you've noticed that Artazon is a city of artists." said the receptionist.
"Yeah. They looked pretty cool." said Kyle.
"Yes. A lot of the artwork is mostly inspired by nature and the sun that nurtures it. That's why we gather Sunflora because they embody those concepts." said the receptionist. "So, your task is to gather Sunflora that are hidden all over the city and bring them to the Sunflora Lawn."
"Oh boy." said Butters. "I love Hide-and-Seek."
"What do Sunfloras look like?" asked Kenny.
"They look like sun-shaped flowers." said the receptionist.
"Oh, okay." said Kenny.
"To begin your Gym Test, go to the Sunflora Lawn, and talk to the staff member that's there and she'll get you started." said the staff member.
"Got it." said Kenny.
"To get to the Sunflora Lawn, just head right, after you leave this building; you can't miss it." said the receptionist.
"Thanks." said Kenny. He turns to look at his friends. "I'll be right back."
"Do your best, dude." said Kyle. Kenny exits the lobby and runs over to the Sunflora Lawn. He sees a female staff member and walks up to her.
"Hello. Are you here for your Gym Test?" asked the staff member.
"Yes." said Kenny.
"Very well. All you need to do is find at least 10 Sunfloras and bring them here." said the staff member.
"You got it." said Kenny. He sets out and starts looking for Sunfloras. It takes him a little while, but he manages to find enough of them to complete his task. He returns to the Sunflora Farm and goes to the staff member.
"Congratulations, young man." said the staff member. "You have found enough Sunfloras to pass your Gym Test."
"All right!" said Kenny as he jumps for joy.
"Just report your success to the receptionist at the Pokemon League building and you'll battle Brassius." said the staff member. Kenny returns to the Pokemon League building where his friends were waiting for him.
"Hey, Kenny." said Stan.
"How did you do?" asked Cartman.
"I passed my Gym Test." said Kenny.
"Wow." said Butters. Kenny then walks over to the receptionist.
"I was just notified about your success in passing the Gym Test." said the receptionist.
"Great." said Kenny.
"Are you ready to battle Brassius?" asked the receptionist.
"You bet I am." said Kenny.
"Very well. Go to the center of Artazon and climb up to the top of the stage that has the windmill on it." said the receptionist who then looks at the other boys. "While your friend is doing his gym battle, one of you can do your Gym Test in the meantime."
"I'll go next." said Kyle. He then looks at Kenny. "I'll see you later, dude."
"You got it." said Kenny. He then looks at Trent. "How about coming with and watch? That way you can see what a Pokemon battle between two trainers is like."
"Okay. That sounds like a good idea." said Trent. He and Kenny head for the location the receptionist told him about and go up to the top. They see a battle arena and looks around until they hear a pair of identical voices shouting out.
"Greetings, challenger." said the voices from above them. Kenny and Trent look up and sees two identical men with pale skin, green hair, wearing a crimson jacket with yellowish green thorn designs on it, black pants, green shoes, and on his waist was a thorny whip, standing on one of the windmill's blades. They leap off the windmill and land on the stage.
"Whoa." Trent said with astonishment.
"We greet you, challenger." said one of the men. "I am Brassius; and this is my associate...Brassius." said the Brassius we'll call Naranja Brassius. Kenny steps forward.
"Hi, I'm Kenny." said Kenny. Naranja Brassius steps forward.
"We saw your Gym Test from up on the windmill and you were quite impressive." said Naranja Brassius.
"Yes." said the other Brassius who we'll call the Uva Brassius. "The last challenger took a lot longer. He got lost in the hedge maze for a while."
"Anyway, we're getting off track here." said Naranja Brassius. "You are here for a gym battle, and I intend to give it my all."
"That makes two of us." said Kenny. Naranja Brassius smiles and then walks to one side of the battle arena while Kenny goes to the other, while Trent walks off to the side. A referee steps to the center of the arena.
"This will be a three-on-three battle between the Gym Leader, Brassius, and the challenger, Kenny. Both trainers will battle until all three of a trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. The last trainer to have any Pokemon remaining will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the referee. Naranja Brassius then takes a pokeball out of his pocket, making Kenny do the same. Brassius throws his pokeball, releasing a green, bulblike Pokemon with three small green leaves on its head. Kenny points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Petilil, the Bulb Pokemon. The leaves on its head grow right back even if they fall out. These bitter leaves refresh those who eat them." said the Rotom Phone. Kenny puts away his Rotom Phone and throws his pokeball, releasing his Corvisquire.
"Okay, Corivisquire. Use Pluck!" said Kenny. Corvisquire flies at Petilil and jabs her beak into Petilil's body, doing super effective damage.
"Petilil, use Stun Spore!" said Naranja Brassius. Petilil releases a cloud of yellow dust from its head and it covers Corvisquire, causing it paralysis.
"What happened?" asked Trent.
"Stun Spore causes paralysis to the Pokemon it's used on." said Kenny. "Paralysis not only slows down the Pokemon afflicted with it, it also makes it that the Pokemon won't be able to attack sometimes."
"What now?" asked Trent.
"Well I'm not giving up!" said Kenny. "Corvisquire, try using Pluck again!" Corvisquire manages to fight through paralysis and hits Petilil with another Pluck attack, this time knocking it out.
"Petilil is unable to battle. Corvisquire is the winner." said the referee.
"Yes! Way to go, Corvisquire!" said Kenny. Corvisquire nods in response, despite the fact she had paralysis. Naranja Brassius returns Petilil to its pokeball.
"You did well, Petilil." said Naranja Brassius. He then puts Petilil's pokeball away and pulls out another one and throws it, releasing a small, light green, olive-shaped Pokemon that had an olive growing out of its head. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Smoliv, the Olive Pokemon. It protects itself from enemies by emitting oil from the fruit on its head. This oil is bitter and astringent enough to make someone flinch." said the Rotom Phone.
"Smoliv, use Tacke!" said Naranja Brassius. The Smoliv runs at Corvisquire and rams into Corvisquire.
"Corvisquire, use Pluck!" said Kenny. Corvisquire tries to use Pluck, but paralysis kicks in, preventing her from attacking. "Oh, crap."
"Smoliv, use another Tackle!" said Naranja Brassius. Smoliv hits Corvisquire with another Tackle attack, this time knocking out Corvisquire.
"Corvisquire is unable to battle. Smoliv is the winner." said the referee. Kenny returns Corvisquire to her pokeball.
"Thanks, Corvisquire." said Kenny as he puts Corvisquire's pokeball away. Trent looked at Kenny with concern.
"Will Corvisquire be okay?" asked Trent.
"Don't worry." said Kenny. "A trip to a Pokemon Center and she'll be as good as new." He then pulls another pokeball out of his pocket and throws it, releasing his Nymble.
"Go get that Smoliv, Nymble!" shouted Trent. Kenny looks back at Trent and nods.
"Nymble, use Double Kick!" said Kenny. Nymble jumps at Smoliv and lands two hard kicks to it, doing super effective damage. "Good thing Smoliv is part normal type. Fighting type attacks are super effective against it." Smoliv struggles to get up.
"Smoliv, use Flail!" said Naranja Brassius. Smoliv runs at Nymble and starts flailing around wildly, hitting Nymble hard and sends him flying.
"Whoa." said Kenny. "Clever move using Flail after Smoliv take that damage he just got. It made the attack stronger."
"Thank you for the compliment." said Naranja Brassius. Nymble started to surge with energy.
"Looks like Nymble took enough damage to activate his Swarm ability." said Kenny. "Now, Nymble. Use Bug Bite!" Nymble jumps at Smoliv and bites down on it, doing super effective damage and more thanks to Swarm, and knocks it out.
"Smoliv is unable to battle. Nymble is the winner." said the referee.
"Sweet! Good work, Nymble!" said Kenny. Nymble gives an eye smile in response. Naranja Brassius returns Smoliv to its pokeball.
"You were magnificient, Smoliv." said Naranja Brassius as he puts Smoliv's pokeball away. Just then, Kyle shows up and walks over to Trent.
"What did I miss?" Kyle asked.
"Kenny just beat Brassius's second Pokemon." said Trent. "He just needs to beat one more to win."
"Sweet!" said Kyle. "I just passed my Gym Test, so I'll be battling next." Naranja Brassius pulls out his last pokeball.
"You did well to get this far." said Naranja Brassius. "But let's see you beat my strongest one." He throws it, releasing a Pokemon that looked like a tree with three green orbs coming out of each of its branch arms. Kyle takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Sudowoodo, the Imitation Pokemon. Although it always pretends to be a tree, its composition appears more similar to rock than to vegetation." said the Rotom Phone. Naranja Brassius then pulls out a Tera Orb from his jacket, surprising Kyle and Kenny.
"A Tera Orb?!" replied Kenny.
"What's that?" asked Trent. Naranja Brassius throws the Tera Orb above his Sudowoodo, making crystal pillars rise up and cover it, surprising Trent. The crystals shatter, showing Sudowoodo with crystal skin, and crystal flowers growing out of its head. "What happened to that Pokemon?"
"It got Terastillized." said Kyle. "That's when a Pokemon is turned into a Tera Pokemon."
"I have a lot to learn." said Trent who then looks back at the battle.
"Okay, Sudowood. Use Rock Throw!" said Naranja Brassius. Sudowoodo throws rocks out of his hands which hit Nymble, doing super effective damage and knocking him out.
"Nymble is unable to battle. Sudowoodo is the winner." said the referee.
"Excellent work, Sudowoodo." said Naranja Brassius. Sudowoodo turns to Naranja Brassius and salutes him. Kenny returns Nymble to his pokeball.
"You were great, Nymble." said Kenny as he puts Nymble's pokeball away and pulls out his last one. He throws it, releasing his Clodsire.
"Good move." said Kyle. "Clodsire is part ground type so Rock Throw won't do much to hurt him. And since he's part poison, grass type moves won't do as much damage also."
"Okay, Clodsire. Use Poison Tail!" said Kenny. Clodsire's tail glowed purple and he swings it at Sudowoodo, hitting it, and doing super effective damage, thanks to Sudowoodo being a grass type right now.
"Hurry, Sudowoodo. Use Trailblaze!" said Naranja Brassius. Sudowoodo glowed green and it leaps at Clodsire, ramming him, and doing some damage to him. Sudowoodo suddenly surged with energy.
"What's with that Sudowoodo?" asked Trent.
"Trailblaze also increases the speed of the Pokemon that used it." said Naranja Brassius. "Now, Sudowoodo. Use Slam!" Sudowoodo swings one of its arms down onto Clodsire's head.
"Clodsire! Use Poison Tail one more time!" said Kenny. Clodsire quickly swings around and hits Sudowoodo with one more Poison Tail, which sends Sudowood flying to the floor. It's crystal skin and flowers shatter, and it was knocked out.
"Sudowood is unable to battle. Clodsire is the winner. That means the winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Kenny!" said the referee.
"We did it!" cheered Kenny. He then runs over to Clodsire and hugs him. "You were awesome, Clodsire!" Clodsire smiles at Kenny. Naranja Brassius returns Sudowoodo to its pokeball.
"You did a splendid job, Sudowoodo." said Naranja Brassius. He returns Sudowoodo's pokeball to his pocket and walks over to Kenny who looks up at him. "I must say; the way you battled was a splendid masterpiece. Quite spectacular indeed."
"Thanks." said Kenny. Naranja Brassius reaches into his jacket and pulls out some pokedollars, along with a gym badge that had the image of three blades of grass on it.
"As proof of your victory, I present to you the Artazon gym badge." said Naranja Brassius. Kenny smiles and takes it, along with the pokedollars.
"Awesome! I got the Artazon gym badge!" said Kenny.
"To commerate this moment, let's take a picture together." said Naranja Brassius.
"I'm cool with that." said Kenny. They took a picture of the two of them standing back-to-back with each other with their arms crossed across their chests. After the picture was taken, Naranja Brassius walks off to the Pokemon Center to get his Pokemon treated. Kyle and Trent run over to Kenny and congratulate him.
"That ruled, Kenny!" said Kyle.
"Good work, Kenny." said Trent.
"Thanks, guys." said Kenny. Remembering his punishment from his mom, he gives Trent half the pokedollars he just got. He then heads for the Pokemon Center to get his Pokemon treated. Uva Brassius steps forward.
"Who is the next challenger?" asked Uva Brassius. Kyle steps forward with a look of determination on his face.
"I'm Kyle Broflovski, and I'll be battling next." said Kyle.
"While my double gets his Pokemon healed, I'll be your opponent." said Uva Brassius.
"One good thing about gym leaders having doubles, I won't have to wait a while to have my gym battle." said Kyle.
"Indeed." said Uva Brassius. He and Kyle soon faced each other on opposite ends of the battle arena. A referee steps to the center of the arena.
"This is an official gym battle between Brassius the Gym Leader, and the challenger, Kyle." said the referee. "Each side will use three Pokemon. The battle will end when one trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. The last trainer with any Pokemon remaining will be the winner. Let the battle begin." The referee walks out of the arena while Kyle and Uva Brassius each pull out a pokeball.
"Petilil, I choose you." said Uva Brassius, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Smoliv.
"Fletchinder, go!" said Kyle, releasing his Fletchinder. "Fletchinder, Flame Charge!" Fletchinder becomes surrounded by fire and flies into Petilil, dealing super effective damage. Fletchinder suddenly begins surging with energy. "Cool. Flame Charge increases the speed of the Pokemon that uses it."
"Petilil, Stun Spore!" said Uva Brassius. Smoliv shakes its body and releases an orange powder from it and onto Fletchinder. She begins twitching.
"Damn it, now Fletchinder's paralyzed." said Kyle. "Fletchinder, try using Flame Charge!" Unfortunately, paralysis stops Fletchinder from attacking.
"Petilil, Mega Drain!" said Uva Brassius. A green stream of energy comes out from the top of Petilil's head and wraps around Fletchinder, draining only a little of her stamina, due to her being resistant to grass type attacks.
"Fletchinder, Quick Attack!" said Kyle. Fletchinder breaks through her paralysis and flies at Petilil with incredible speed and rams Petilil, knocking it out.
"Oh no, Petilil!" said Uva Brassius.
"Petilil is unable to battle, Fletchinder wins." said the referee.
"Sweet." said Kyle. Uva Brassius returns Petilil to its pokeball.
"You did well, Petilil." said Uva Brassius. He puts Petilil's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Come out, Smoliv!" He throws Smoliv's pokeball and releases it. "Use Tackle!" Smoliv leaps at Fletchinder and rams her.
"Try using Flame Charge, Fletchinder!" said Kyle. Fletchinder fights through her paralysis, becomes surrounded by fire and rams into Smoliv, dealing super effective damage.
"Use Flail!" said Uva Brassius. Smoliv leaps at Fletchinder and flail arounds, hitting Fletchinder and knocks her to the ground. Fletchinder struggles to get up.
"Use Flame Charge!" said Kyle. Paralysis gets the best of Fletchinder and stops her from attacking.
"Flail once more!" said Uva Brassius. Smoliv jumps at Fletchinder and flails, hitting her and knocking her out.
"No!" said Kyle.
"Fletchinder is unable to battle. Smoliv is the winner." said the referee.
"Fine job, Smoliv." said Brassius. Kyle returns Fletchinder to her pokeball.
"You did great, Fletchinder." said Kyle. Just then, Stan arrives and stands next to Trent.
"Hey, guys." said Stan.
"Hey, Stan." said Kenny.
"How did Kenny do?" asked Stan.
"He won." said Trent.
"Sweet!" said Stan. He looks out at the arena, and sees Kyle as he was putting Fletchinder's pokeball away and pulled out another pokeball.
"Flittle, go!" said Kyle as he throws Flittle's pokeball and releases him. "Use Psybeam!" Flittle unleashes a beam of multicolored energy from his eyes and it hits Smoliv, knocking it to the ground.
"Smoliv, Razor Leaf!" said Uva Brassius. Smoliv spins in the air and releases green leaves and they hit Flittle, knocking him back.
"Peck attack!" said Kyle. Flittle floats towards Smoliv and pecks it, knocking it out.
"Smoliv is unable to battle. Flittle wins." said the referee.
"Good job, Flittle." said Kyle. Uva Brassius returns Smoliv to its pokeball.
"You rest now, Smoliv, you earned it." said Uva Brassius. He puts Smoliv's pokeball away and pull out another one. "You've done well so far, Kyle, but let's see how you do against my final Pokemon. Sudowoodo, come out!" He throws Sudowoodo's pokeball and releases it. Uva Brassius then takes out his Tera Orb and uses it to terastilize Sudowoodo into his grass type Tera Form. "Sudowoodo, Trailblaze!" Sudowoodo's arms become wrapped in small, leafy vines and he charges at Flittle and rams him, knocking him back. Sudowoodo begins to surge with energy. "Excellent. Trailblaze can increase the speed of the Pokemon that uses it, much like your Fletchinder's Flame Charge."
"Use Peck!" said Kyle. Flittle floats at Sudowoodo and pecks it, dealing super effective damage.
"Slam!" said Uva Brassius. Sudowoodo runs at Flittle and swings one of its arms at him, hitting him.
"Psybeam!" said Kyle. Flittle releases another multicolored beam of energy from his eyes and it hits Sudowoodo, knocking him back. His eyes become swirly and it stumbles around. "Sweet. Psybeam has a chance of causing confusion to the Pokemon it hits."
"Sudowoodo, try using Rock Throw!" said Uva Brassius. Sudowoodo fights through its confusion and throws rocks at Flittle, knocking him out.
"Flittle!" said Kyle.
"Flittle is unable to battle. Sudowoodo wins." said the referee.
"Excellent." said Uva Brassius. Kyle returns Flittle to his pokeball.
"You were great, Flittle." said Kyle. He puts Flittle's pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Floragato, go!" He throws Floragato's pokeball and releases him. Kyle takes out his Tera Orb and throws it at Floragato, terastilizing him to his Tera Form, which is a grass type. "Now use Tail Whip!" Floragato leaps at Sudowoodo and wags his tail onto him, weakening his defense.
"Use Slam!" said Uva Brassius. Unfortunately for Uva Brassius, confusion gets the best of Sudowoodo and it ends up hitting itself.
"Use Bite!" said Kyle. Floragato leaps at Sudowoodo and bites its abdomen.
"Try using Slam again!" said Uva Brassius. Sudowoodo gets through its confusion and swings its arm at Floragato, hitting him.
"Scratch attack!" said Kyle. Floragato runs at Sudowoodo and scratches Sudowoodo across its chest. Sudowoodo shakes its head, snapping itself out of its confusion.
"Rock Throw!" said Uva Brassius. Sudowoodo throws rocks at Floragato.
"Dodge them!" said Kyle. Floragato leaps up, dodging the rocks. "Bite!" Floragato comes down towards Sudowoodo and bites its head, causing it to flinch. "Scratch!" Floragato scratches Sudowoodo in the chest. Its Tera Form shatters, and it falls to the arena floor, unconscious.
"No, Sudowoodo!" said Uva Brassius.
"Sudowoodo is unable to battle. Floragato wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Kyle." said the referee.
"Sweet." said Kyle. Floragato raises a fist in victory as he reverts back to his regular form. Uva Brassius returns Sudowoodo to its pokeball.
"You were incredible, Sudowoodo." said Uva Brassius. He puts Sudowoodo's pokeball away and walks over to Kyle, who was hugging Floragato.
"You have raised your Pokemon well, young man." said Uva Brassius.
"Thanks, dude." said Kyle. Uva Brassius reaches into his pocket and pulls out an Artazon gym badge.
"As proof of your victory here, I reward you with the Artazon gym badge." said Uva Brassius. He gives Kyle the badge, along with pokedollars.
"Thanks." said Kyle. After he and Uva Brassius take a picture together like the Naranja Brassius did with Kenny, he walks back to his friends. He gives Trent half the pokedollars he just won after he remembered his punishment.
"You were awesome." said Kenny. Uva Brassius and Kyle start to leave to get his Pokemon treated, just as Naranja Brassius arrived onto the stage.
"Is the match over?" asked Naranja Brassius.
"Yes. Your next match is about to begin." said Uva Brassius. He and Kyle then continue to head for the Pokemon Center, just as Naranja Brassius walks over to the boys.
"So, who am I battling next?" asked Naranja Brassius. Stan steps forward.
"I'm Stan Marsh. I'm your next opponent." said Stan.
"Very well." said Naranja Brassius. Looks like the next match is Stan vs. Naranja Brassius. Who will win?
