Lily catches a Pokemon
The next morning, Lincoln was sound asleep in his bed in his dorm room at Naranja/Uva Academy with Lily sleeping next to him; at least they were sleeping when loud knocking on his door woke him and Lily up. Lincoln sat up and looked at his door.
"I wonder who that is?" asked Lincoln. He climbed down off his bed while carrying Lily, walks over to his door and opens it. Standing outside it was Lynn.
"Morning, Lincoln!" said Lynn.
"Lynn? What are you doing here?" asked Lincoln.
"Time to begin your morning workout!" said Lynn.
"Now?" asked Lincoln.
"Would you rather have me tell Ms. Dendra that you're slacking off?" asked Lynn with a smirk, making Lincoln sweat.
"All right." said Lincoln. "Can we at least get breakfast first?" Lynn thinks for a few seconds.
"Well, breakfast is the most important meal of the day; and I guess you can't have a workout on an empty stomach." said Lynn. "Okay; first cafeteria, then workout." Lincoln gets dressed, straps Lily to his chest, and they all head to the cafeteria. After breakfast, they head over to the schoolyard and begin Lincoln's new morning workout regime, which consisted of fifty sit-ups, fifty push-ups with Lily on his back, twenty squats, and ten laps around the track. Two hours later, Lincoln was lying on the ground, sweating up a storm, with Lily sitting on his chest, giggling. Lynn walks over to Lincoln and hands him a water bottle, which he happily accepts and drinks from.
"Thanks." said Lincoln after he finishes the water.
"No problem." said Lynn. After a few minutes of rest, they all head into the main plaza to go to the hotel that the rest of their sisters, Leonard, and the others were. They soon see them coming out of a restaurant.
"Morning, everyone." said Lincoln.
"Morning, Linky." said Leni.
"What are your plans for today, elder brother?" asked Lisa. Lincoln brings up his map of the Paldea region.
"I did plan on going to Medali to earn my fifth gym badge." said Lincoln.
"What would be the best way to get there?" asked Lori.
"Well, I promised Ms. Dendra I'd rely on my legs more, and I don't really feel like walking through the Asada Desert again." said Lincoln. "But I still need to go there to take on that Titan Pokemon so I can help Arven get another Herba Mystica to help his Mabosstiff."
"Oh, Linky. That is like, so nice of you to help your friend." said Leni with tears in her eyes.
"Yeah. He really cares about Mabosstiff." said Lincoln. "We've already got two of the Herba Mysticas, we just have three more to get. Hopefully, that will help Masbosstiff make a full recovery."
"Well, I hope you help your friend's Pokemon like you promised." said Leonard.
"I intend to, Gramps." replied Lincoln. Leonard smiles in response. He looks back at his map app. "Okay. If we go through South Province Area Three from the east gate here, we can go through Artazon, then continue through East Province Area One, we'll eventually get to...Levincia." Lincoln stops and blushes.
"What's wrong, Lincoln?" asked Luan.
"Wait. Isn't Levincia where Iono lives?" asked Lola with a smirk.
"Yeah, she is the gym leader there." said Lincoln. His sisters squeal with delight, while Ronnie Anne clenches one of her fists.
"Maybe we can take the time to pay her a visit." said Lori with a smile.
"Well, I wouldn't mind it." said Lincoln with a blush. "Anyway, after we exit Levincia through the north entrance, we go through East Province Area Three, where the Steel Titan Pokemon is supposed to be."
"Are you going to try taking it on?" asked Lana.
"I don't see why not. I have plenty of time, and I did promise Arven that I'd help him." said Lincoln.
"Totes." said Leni.
"Once I take care of the Titan Pokemon, we'll keep heading through the area until we reach a town called Zapapico; after that, we keep walking until we reach Medali." said Lincoln.
"Sounds like a plan." said Lori.
"Let me get some stuff for the trip and we'll get going." said Lincoln.
"Sure, little bro." said Luna. Lincoln goes to a PokeMart and buys some Super Potions and some more pokeballs. He also stops by a few other shops in Mesagoza and buys some food and drinks for the journey. Lincoln looks at his money and sees he didn't have a lot left.
"Looks like I'll have to do some more Tera Raid battles to get more stuff I can sell for more travel funds." said Lincoln.
"What are Tera Raid battles?" asked Clyde.
"It'll be easier if you see them for yourselves." said Lincoln.
"Okay." replied Clyde. As they walk towards the east gate, Lincoln looks down at Lily who was strapped to his chest.
"I do want to help Arven with the Herba Mystica, as well as Cassiopeia take down Team Star, but I don't want Lily to be caught in the middle of all that." Lincoln thinks to himself. "I wish there was something to keep her occupied so I can take on the Titan Pokemon and Team Star so she won't be in harm's way." Lincoln and the group soon exited the east gate. As they travelled through South Province Area Three, Lincoln looks around for a Tera Den until he sees one.
"What's that?" asked Leni.
"It's so sparkly." said Lola.
"That's one of the Tera Dens, I told you about." replied Lincoln. He walks over to it and crawls into it.
"What's in there?" asked Clyde.
"Tera Form Pokemon." said Lincoln from inside.
"How can a Pokemon fit into such a small space?" asked Luan.
"It's roomier on the inside than it looks from outside." said Lincoln. Everyone else looks at each other and follows Lincoln inside. To their surprise, they were in a crystallized cavern.
"Whoa. Lincoln was literally right about it being roomier than it looks." said Lori.
"Hey, guys. Check that out." said Lana. They all look to see a bipedal Pokemon with red and white fur, and long claws in the center of the cavern. On its head was a crystallized fist. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Zangoose, the Cat Ferret Pokemon. It's Seviper's archrival. To threaten those it encounters, it fans out the claws on its front paws." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Judging by the crystal fist coming out of its head, its Tera Form is probably fighting type." said Lincoln as he pulls a pokeball out of his backpack.
"You gonna catch it?" asked Lucy from behind Lincoln, startling him.
"Might as well. I'm already in here, and I haven't caught one of these guys yet." said Lincoln as he throws the pokeball, releasing Floette.
"Do it, Lincoln!" said Lynn.
"Okay, Floette. Use Disarming Voice!" said Lincoln. Floette opens her mouth and lets out a pink soundwave which hits Zangoose, doing super effective damage. The Zangoose then charges at Floette with great speed and rams her.
"That was totes mean!" said Leni.
"Don't worry. I got this." said Lincoln. "Floette, use Draining Kiss!" Floette floats at the Zangoose and plants a kiss on its head, draining it of a lot of its stamina, and healing herself.
"Go, Floette!" said Leni. Zangoose glares harshly at Floette, making her uncomfortable, and lowering her defense.
"What's with the nasty look?" asked Luna.
"That was Leer. It weakens the defense of the Pokemon it's used on." said Lincoln.
"Hurry and finish this, Linc!" said Ronnie Anne.
"You got it!" said Lincoln. "Floette, use Magical Leaf!" Floette swings her flower and releases a bunch of glowing green leaves which hit Zangoose hard enough to dispel its Tera Form. Lincoln quickly pulls out a pokeball and throws it at Zangoose, hitting it, and sucking it in. The ball wiggles a few times before it clicks, indicating a successful capture.
"Linky did it!" said Leni.
"That's my grandson!" said Leonard. Lincoln watches as the pokeball is teleported to storage. A bright light fills the cavern, and everyone soon finds themselves back outside.
"That was weird." said Lynn.
"How did we end up back outside?" asked Lana.
"That happens after a Tera Raid battle ends." said Lincoln. The Tera Den vanishes and Lincoln sees two bags of Stardust, along with two Star Pieces on the ground. He picks them up and puts them in his backpack.
"So you get valuable gems and things by doing those Tera Raid battles?" asked Lola.
"Yep." said Lincoln. He takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to learn more about his new Zangoose. "Zangoose is a normal type, it's a male, he knows Scratch, Leer, Quick Attack, Fury Cutter, Metal Claw, Hone Claws, Slash, Power Trip, Crush Claw, False Swipe, and Switcheroo. He has the Immunity ability, which makes him immune to poisoning." They continue to travel. As they did, Luna begins to sniff the air and quickly covers her nose with both hands.
"Dude! What's that smell?!" asked Luna. Everyone sniffs the air and quickly covers their noses.
"Lori, what did you eat?!" asked Luan.
"That wasn't me, I swear!" said Lori.
"She's telling the truth." said Lincoln. They all turn towards Lincoln to see him looking down at Lily.
"Poo Poo." said Lily.
"Lily needs a diaper change." said Lincoln.
"Not it!" said the others, touching their noses. Lincoln frowns.
"Dang it." said Lincoln. He lifts Lily out of the baby carrier and sets her on a grassy spot. He removes the soiled diaper from her and Lisa uses a pair of tongs to grab it. "Thanks, Lisa."
"You're welcome." said Lisa. Lincoln pulls a bottle of baby powder, along with a clean diaper, out of Lily's diaper bag. He turns to where he set Lily to see she was gone. He looks around and sees her looking through some tall grass.
"Be careful, Lily." said Lincoln. Lily reaches into the grass and pulls out a pokeball.
"A pokeball?" said Sam.
"Yeah. I heard sometimes other trainers sometimes misplace items they have with them." said Lincoln.
"Talk about careless." said Ronnie Anne. Lisa walks over to Lily.
"May I examine that pokeball for research, younger sister?" asked Lisa.
"Mine!" said Lily, pulling the pokeball away. Lincoln pulls a white pokeball with a red band around it out of his backpack.
"Here, Lisa. You can have this one." said Lincoln. Lisa takes it and looks at it.
"Why does this pokeball look different from the ones you have?" asked Lisa.
"That's called a Premier Ball. I got one for free from a PokeMart one time for buying ten pokeballs at once." replied Lincoln.
"Oh. Well, I thank you for donating this Premier Ball to me, Lincoln." said Lisa. After changing Lily, he puts her back in the baby carrier and the group continue walking with Lily playing with the pokeball she found until they were close to Artazon.
"Is this Levincia, Lincoln?" asked Clyde.
"No, this is a place called Artazon." replied Lincoln. "I already beat the gym here."
"Oh." replied Clyde.
"Look at all the beautiful flowers." said Lola, looking at the flowers with glee.
"What's with all the statues?" asked Lori, looking at the Sunflora statues.
"Artazon is a city of artists." replied Lincoln.
"What are those statues of?" asked Luan.
"A Pokemon called Sunflora." replied Lincoln. "In fact, my Gym Test here was finding ten real ones here. Basically, a game of Hide and Seek."
"Sounds like fun." said Lana.
"Hey, Lincoln." Leni whispered. He turned towards her to see her pointing at something. "What are those?" Lincoln looks to see a pair of white, mouselike Pokemon, sleeping in the shade of a tree. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Tandemaus, the Couple Pokemon. Exhibiting great teamwork, they use their incisors to cut pieces out of any material that might be useful for a nest, then make off with them." said the Rotom Phone.
"They're totes adorbs." whispered Leni.
"They look like stuffed toys." whispered Lola holding her hands together near her head. Lily looks at the Tandemaus, then at the pokeball she was holding. She thinks back to Lincoln catching Crabrawler. Giggling, she tosses the pokeball at the sleeping Tandemaus, hitting them. They get sucked into the pokeball and after it wiggled around a few times, it stops and clicks, indicating a successful capture. Everyone looks with stunned looks on their faces. Lincoln picks up Tandemaus' pokeball.
"Lily. You caught a Pokemon." said Lincoln.
"I thought battling Pokemon to weaken them makes them easier to capture." said Leni.
"They're also easier to catch when they're sleeping." said Lincoln. "I got Floette when she was a Flabebe when I had Skeledirge back when he was a Crocalor put her to sleep. Pawmot, Lycanroc, and Palafin voluntarily joined me." He gives Lily Tandemaus' pokeball. "Tandemaus is your Pokemon, Lily." She tosses the pokeball and releases Tandemaus. Lincoln lifts Lily out of her carrier and sets her on the ground. The Tandemaus walks over to Lily. After looking at each other for a few seconds, Lily spreads her arms and the Tandemaus runs over to her and she hugs them, who in return, nuzzles her cheeks, making her laugh.
"AWWWWW!" everyone else says with glee. Lincoln takes out the Rotom Phone and uses it to learn more about Lily's new Tandemaus.
"Okay. Tandemaus is a normal type, and like a stuffed animal, Tandemaus has no gender, it knows Pound, Baby-Doll Eyes, Echoed Voice, and Helping Hand. It has the Run Away ability, which lets it run away from battle when it's at half of its stamina." says Lincoln. He then looks at Lily continuing to hug Tandemaus. "This should keep Lily occupied while I take on the next Titan Pokemon and Team Star."
"Who's Team Star?" asked Lynn.
"Aside from collecting badges and helping find Herba Mystica; I'm also taking on a gang of students who are giving other students a hard time." said Lincoln.
"Sounds like you're keeping busy during your Treasure Hunt assignment." said Lori.
"Yep." said Lincoln. They then enter Artazon with Tandemaus following them, and Lincoln looks at his Rotom Phone. "Looks like it's pretty close to lunch, everyone."
"Well let's find a place to eat after I drop my Pokemon off at the Pokemon Center." said Lincoln. After Lincoln does so, he sells the stuff he got from his earlier Tera Raid battle and he and the rest of the group go find a place to eat.
