Call from Home
Once everyone was done eating lunch and Lincoln picks up his Pokemon from the Pokemon Center, He decides to give everyone a tour of Artazon. He showed them all the sculptures that were all over the city, the pool, the hedge maze, the play area in the southeast part of the city, including its rock climbing wall which Lynn had him climb up a few times for exercise, and the stage where he had his gym battle.
"This place is so nice, Lincoln." said Luan.
"Yes, it is, isn't it?" replied Lincoln. Just then, Lori's device rang. Lori looks at the Caller ID and sees she was getting a call from Lynn Sr.
"It's Dad, everyone." said Lori. Everyone but Lincoln gathers around behind her, and she turns on video chat. A few seconds later, Lynn Sr, and Rita Loud's faces appeared on the screen.
"Hi, everyone." said Rita.
"Hey, Mom." replied the Loud sisters.
"Are you all doing, okay?" asked Lynn Sr.
"We're doing fine, Mom." said Lori.
"Anyway; is Lincoln there with you?" asked Rita. Lori looks over at Lincoln.
"Yeah, he is, Mom." replied Lori.
"Can we talk to him?" asked Lynn Sr. Lori looks at Lincoln who nods at her. She then hands Lincoln her device.
"Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad." said Lincoln in a neutral tone.
"Lincoln! Are you all right?" asked Rita with concern in her voice.
"I'm fine, Mom." said Lincoln. Lynn Sr and Rita look away with guilty expressions on their faces.
"Lincoln, we are so sorry for kicking you out of the house over a silly superstition!" said Lynn Sr.
"Especially after you and Mom made that promise that you would never do something like that to me or any of my sisters." said Lincoln.
"Huh?" replied Rita.
"After that time, we thought you were going to get rid of us when you were really just talking about Dad's tie collection?" replied Lincoln. Lynn Sr slaps his forehead in exasperation.
"Oh, that's right. I forgot about that." said Lynn Sr.
"Honey. Can you ever forgive us?" asked Rita.
"If I couldn't, I wouldn't have gotten you off with just community service." replied Lincoln.
"I guess that's true." said Lynn Sr.
"So, when are you coming home?" asked Rita.
"I'm gonna wait until after I finish my education at Naranja Academy." said Lincoln.
"What's the academy like?" asked Lynn Sr. Lola then snatches Lori's device from Lincoln's hands.
"It's like a palace, Mommy." said Lola.
"There's so many books containing so much knowledge of Pokemon." said Lisa.
"And one of Lincoln's teachers, Ms. Dendra, is super awesome." said Lynn Jr.
"Not to mention the cafeteria food there." said Lana as she drooled, remembering what it was like.
"Linky has a dorm room that comes with its own bathroom!" said Leni.
"Lincoln has his own bathroom there?!" replied Lynn Sr.
"Yeah!" said Lana.
"You are so lucky!" said Lynn Sr. Lincoln snarls in response.
"What was that?! Is there a vicious Pokemon there?!" asked Rita.
"No, that was Lincoln." said Lori. "We don't say the...L-word in front of him; it upsets him."
"Ohhhhh. That's understandable." said Rita.
"We'll definitely not use that word around the house ever again." said Lynn Sr. "From now on, we only rely on our own talents and skill."
"That would be a good idea." said Lincoln as he calmed down.
"So, what are you up to now?" asked Rita.
"We're on our way to a city called Medali so Lincoln can challenge the gym there." said Lori.
"Gym?" asked Lynn Sr. Lincoln takes Lori's device and explains to his parents about his Treasure Hunt assignment and his intention on competing in the Paldea League.
"Well, that sounds like fun." said Rita.
"It is, and I know my Pokemon will not let me down." said Lincoln. "I'll be proud of them no matter what."
"So, what are your Pokemon like?" asked Lynn Sr. Lincoln takes his pokeballs out of his pockets and tosses them up, releasing his Pokemon, including Koraidon.
"Wow! Your Pokemon look amazing." said Rita. Lincoln introduces his parents to his Pokemon.
"Lily has her own Pokemon also." said Lincoln.
"She does?" replied Lynn Sr. Lincoln points Lori's device at Lily, who was sitting in grass, hugging her Tandemaus.
"Oh they look so cute." said Rita. "What are they?"
"They're called Tandemaus, Mom." said Lincoln.
"So what else are you doing besides battling gyms?" asked Lynn Sr. Lincoln then tells them about Arven's injured Mabosstiff and helping him find the Herba Mystica so he can heal Mabosstiff.
"Lincoln, that is very nice of you to help your friend's Pokemon." said Rita. "Just be careful with these Titan Pokemon."
"Don't worry, I'll have my Pokemon at my side." said Lincoln. He also tells them about how he's helping take down Team Star.
"Well be careful when doing that." said Lynn Sr. "They sound like bad news."
"I can handle them. They're not that tough." said Lincoln.
"So what else is new with you, son?" asked Lynn Sr. Leni quickly snatches Lori's device out of Lincoln's hands.
"Linky has a girlfriend here!" said Leni with excitement, making Lincoln blush, and Ronnie Anne growl.
"Ohhhhhh." said Lynn Sr with a smirk on his face. "Lincoln has a girlfriend, huh?"
"What's she like?" asked Rita. Leni quickly reaches into Lincoln's backpack, pulls out the picture of Iono hugging and kissing Lincoln, and holds it to Lori's device's screen so Rita and Lynn Sr could see it.
"I'm so proud of you son." said Lynn Sr as he wiped a tear from his eye. "You're becoming a ladies' man."
"It's just one girl, honey." said Rita. "That doesn't make him a ladies' man."
"What about Nemona?" asked Luna.
"Who's Nemona?" asked Lynn Sr.
"One of Lincoln's classmates. She seems to like hugging Lincoln a lot." said Luna, making Lincoln blush some more.
"Do you think she likes him?" asked Lynn Sr.
"Not sure, we only met her once in Cascarrafa." said Luan.
"Well..." Lincoln started to say, getting everyone's attention.
"Is there something else you didn't tell us?" asked Lola.
"When she saw Iono kissing me in the livestream video after my gym battle with her, she did seem a little jealous." said Lincoln as he rubbed the back of his head, making his sisters and parents squeal with glee. "And during dinner after our universe's Paldea merged with another one, she was in a hurry to sit next to me."
"Ohhhhhh." said Lynn Sr with a smirk.
"Wait. What do you mean by 'our universe's Paldea merging with another one'?" asked Rita. Lincoln then goes on to explain the incident that resulted in the Naranja Universe merging with the Uva Universe. It was safe to say that the Loud parents were stunned.
"That sounds hard to believe, son." said Lynn Sr.
"It does sound hard to fathom, father; but it is true." said Lisa.
"Well try to be careful everyone." said Rita.
"We will." said Lincoln. Just then, the room where Rita and Lynn Sr were in right now suddenly shook.
"What was that?!" asked Lori. Rita and Lynn Sr looked behind them at a large metal door behind them that Lisa recognized.
"Are you two in my bunker?!" asked Lisa.
"Yeah, honey." said Lynn Sr.
"We're hiding in here from the Fox Quintuplets right now." said Rita.
"How did you get in there?!" asked Lisa.
"The passcode's your birthday." said Lincoln. "You're smart, Lisa, but you stink with passcodes."
"I see." said Lisa. She then pulls out a small audio recorder from her pocket. "Memo to self: Change passcode to bunker's security lock." Just then, the metal bunker door shook.
"Oh no!" said Lynn Sr. "They got inside!"
"How did they know the passcode?!" asked Rita.
"I don't know!" said Lynn Sr. Rita looks back at the screen.
"We gotta go, kids." said Rita. "We love you all, and that definitely includes you, Lincoln."
"Do your best, son. And if I don't survive this, I'm leaving you Vanzilla, and you'll be the man of the house." said Lynn Sr.
"Okay, Dad." said Lincoln. "I love you all, too." Lori grabs the device from his hands.
"And whatever you two do, don't let them surround you." said Lori.
"Thanks, honey." said Lynn Sr. Just then, the door breaks down, and the Fox Quintuplets leap at them.
"OH NOOOOO!" said Rita just before the call ended, leaving everyone in stunned shock.
"I hope they'll be okay." said Luna. Everyone else nods in agreement. Just then, Lincoln's Rotom Phone rings and flies out of his pocket. Lincoln sees he was getting a call from an unknown caller. He turns on video chat, and he sees Edd's face.
"Hey, Double-D." said Lincoln, everyone gathers behind him.
"Who are those people?" asked Edd.
"These are my friends and family from America." said Lincoln.
"Why are they there?" asked Edd. Lincoln explains why they all came to Paldea. "Well, I still think it's despicable what your sisters and parents did to you."
"How does he know about that?" asked Lori.
"I told some people about how I was thrown out onto the street." said Lincoln with guilt in his voice.
"You told people?!" replied Lori.
"Just a few people. I only told my friends; Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, Butters, the director of Naranja Academy Mr. Clavell, the Eds, and the guy who was doing the raffle where I won my scholarship." answered Lincoln.
"Are you sure that's all the people you told?" asked Lola.
"That's all. If I told Nemona or Iono, they wouldn't have been glad to meet you." said Lincoln. "Nemona probably would've sent her Pokemon after you."
"I guess that's true." said Lori with some relief. Lincoln then looks back at his Rotom Phone's screen.
"So, what's up, Double-D?" asked Lincoln.
"We got a Team Star situation in East Province Area One." said Edd. "They have a base that has a wall blocking off a road which leads to an area where another Titan Pokemon is." Lincoln then looks at the maps of Titan Pokemon and Team Star base locations.
"I think they're blocking off the road I need to take to get to Medali also." said Lincoln. "It's like the Cascarrafa roadblock all over again."
"Indeed. Your other friends are with us, too." said Edd.
"That's cool." said Lincoln. "We won't mind a little extra help."
"Quite so." said Edd.
"I'll see you all in a little bit." said Lincoln.
"Very well. We'll meet at the Pokemon Center that's near a road leading to the Team Star base." said Edd.
"Okay. See you soon." said Lincoln. He then ends the call.
"So, you're taking on another Team Star base?" asked Sam.
"Yeah. I have to if we want to get to Medali." said Lincoln.
"We'll be there to cheer you and your friends on, Lincoln." said Lynn Jr.
"Totes." said Leni. Lincoln smiles at everyone.
"Thanks, guys." said Lincoln.
"No problem, buddy." said Clyde. After that, they all exit Artazon through the east exit.
