Chapter 13
It was about a month after our paintball adventure, and I was home alone on the weekend, getting ready to take a shower when I happened to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I stopped and looked at myself more closely with interest. I couldn't be sure, but I thought my breasts looked fuller somehow. I examined from the left and the right, doing a little pose with my hands on my hips, and they did indeed appear a little more substantial. Reflecting on the past week, I had noticed they felt somewhat constricted in my bra, but I hadn't paid much attention to it. That would be a nice surprise if that was the case.
Looking at myself in the mirror, I smiled and brought my hands up to tease my nipples. A shot of arousal went through my body. I closed my eyes and decided to imagine Adam sucking on them. Hmm, even in his imagined form, he was not doing it for me, and Demetri quickly pushed him out of the way. Now that was much better. I looked at the shower behind me and knew I was going to pleasure myself. I started getting more aroused just thinking of it and told the fake Demetri in my mind we'll get it on in a minute. As I turned the water on and started to get in, a mischievous thought intruded in my mind, and the imagined Adam popped back in, and I told him he could watch. I giggled as I stepped into the shower, readying myself for what's to come.
Later that day, I went to the mall, and to my surprise and delight, I discovered that my breasts had indeed gone up a full cup size, from a 34B to a 34C. I couldn't help but laugh when I thought about all my future lovers getting to play with the 'bigger funbags.'
I was quite pleased with this change and picked out a few regular bras to wear to school and even got a few sexy ones, just in case I ever had a hot date. As I was trying the new bras on in the dressing room, I caught sight of a measuring stick on the wall. Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to measure myself too. To my surprise, it showed I had gained an inch of height as well. I was shocked, bigger tits and height, all in one day. It would be hard to top that.
It took one week to top that day, though. I was doing my now-normal run after school. I usually just ran and had no set place I wanted to go. As I ran, I had been deep in thought, thinking about an essay I had to write when I got home. I was thinking of all the points I wanted to make. Suddenly, I realized I had been running for a while and had lost track of time. I looked at my phone, and my GPS said I was a little over 10 miles away from home. Damn, that's pretty far. I stretched, feeling my muscles, and I smiled. I did not feel worn down at all. I wondered if this is how vampires felt when they ran. I certainly did not have vampire speed, but it seemed I was getting some more benefits from my time with Demetri while still human.
I looked around and had no idea where I was. Luckily, my phone would tell me how to get home. It was starting to get dark, so I thought I should run faster and not the normal jogging rate I usually went at. All too soon, I was running through an intersection, and either I forgot to look both ways or the driver was speeding, but all of a sudden, I heard the screech of tires. I froze, turning my head, seeing a car barreling towards me. I thought, 'oh shit,' just as the car seemed ready to run me over, it bashed into an invisible object 5 feet in front of me. I was astonished. What the fuck had just happened? The car had been going so fast, and then it just stopped instantly, and the whole front of the car was crumpled in on itself and was smoking profusely.
My legs unlocked, and I tentatively walked around to see if the driver was okay. The car was old, probably from the late 70s, and it didn't have any airbags. As I went around, I saw that the driver was unconscious, and there was blood all over his face. I prayed he was still alive. I looked around but saw no other people or cars in any direction. We were not in an active area of whatever part of the city I was in. I got a sick thought and wondered if the smell of blood would smell good to me. I had always hated the smell of blood. I went over and took a whiff through the busted window, but thankfully I only felt a little sickened by the smell. Okay, I'm not turning into a vampire yet, but after what just happened, I can't be completely human anymore either. This was kind of like the power Demetri told me I had but a lot more powerful than he had described.
The driver started to groan, and I breathed a sigh of relief that he was not dead, but then I realized this whole situation screamed supernatural. I had just stopped a car with an invisible force and demolished said car. I had to get out of there before I was discovered. I took off running as fast as I could and made it home in a little less than an hour. I really had run further than I ever had before. I had to watch out for that.
When I got back to my house, I poured myself a big glass of water and sat on the sofa, my mind racing with anxiety and confusion. I hoped that the man in the car had received the help he needed, but I couldn't risk calling it in myself. I needed to keep my newfound abilities a secret, and any questions about me could lead to unwanted attention.
The incident replayed in my mind, and I couldn't fathom how I had managed to stop the car in its tracks. It would have crashed into me, causing serious harm or worse, but somehow, I had instinctively reacted to protect myself. This made me wonder if I could harness this power in non-life-threatening situations. Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to experiment with my newfound abilities.
I picked up the remote control, placing it upright on the coffee table and focused on it, attempting to move it or knock it over with my mind. However, after minutes of concentration, nothing happened. The remote stayed in place just as I had put it. It was clear that I had a power, but I had no clue how to control it yet.
With a sigh, I set aside my experiments and realized that I had to get started on my homework. My after-school run had taken up more time than I had anticipated. As I headed to my room to work on my paper, I couldn't shake what had happened.
I decided I really should call Demetri; this was pretty major, and I wanted to be honest in all my dealings with him.
I was alone in the house but closed the door to my room anyway and got on my bed while the phone dialed Demetri's number.
"Good evening, Bella," Demetri's clear voice rang out through my phone.
"Hi Demetri, how are you?" I didn't know if I should play up or play down what had just happened.
"Fine, I'm on my way to Germany on a mission."
"Oh, ah, are you free to talk? Something else unusual happened to me. I'm fine, but I thought I should let you know."
"What happened? I'm on our jet, so I am free to talk."
"Well, I was jogging. I do that every day now. I'm trying to get in better shape. But that's not important. What happened was while I was running, all of a sudden, a car came out of nowhere and was going to run me over."
"What happened? You said you're fine." Demetri said in a worried voice.
"Yes, well, the weirdest thing happened. The car was going really fast, and right when it was about 5 feet in front of me, it hit an invisible object. The car stopped instantly, crushing the entire front of it. I looked around, but I was in a pretty deserted area, and thankfully there were no other people or cars in sight. I quickly realized I had to get out of there and fled. I did hear the driver groan, so at least he was not dead," I recounted to Demetri.
"Wow. I'm glad you were not hurt, Bella. It sounds like your ability has been greatly enhanced since that first time I discovered you using it. That is actually good. It gives you some form of protection if you ever need it."
"When I got home, I tried to see if I could get whatever I had done to happen again, but nothing happened. I'm going to keep trying and see if I can figure it out. I just figured that was something you might want to know," I explained to Demetri.
"Yes, thank you for telling me. I can have the police report checked on the incident and make sure there is nothing that leads to you. Hopefully, the police will think he hit another vehicle which took off," Demetri replied.
"Wow, you know how to hack into police stations?" I said, genuinely impressed.
"Ah, no. But we do have individuals we hire to do that sort of work. It's important to know what's happening when there are supernatural incidents to make sure nothing gets into the public sphere of knowledge that we don't want to be there. As long as there were no cameras that caught the incident, I think you should be fine,"
"The area was pretty remote and run-down. I doubt there were cameras around anywhere. I actually had not meant to travel so far. I lost track of time when I was running."
"Okay. The jet is landing soon, Bella, and I need to take it off autopilot and communicate with the flight tower. I'll talk to you later. Let me know in the future if anything else like this happens. Good talking with you."
"You too, Demetri. Good luck on your mission," I replied, feeling grateful for his concern and assistance.
I felt relieved after sharing the incident with him. It was intriguing to think that Demetri knew how to fly a jet. The idea of becoming a member of the Volturi and possibly flying with him and other vampires was exciting, but I had to shift my focus back to reality and tackle my essay. School work couldn't wait, so I delved into the task at hand, determined to do my best.
In the following days, I switched up my routine, running in the morning before school. Then after school, I would retreat to my room, spending hours attempting to unlock this strange ability that I had. Surprisingly, on just the second day, I experienced a breakthrough. I had arranged numerous pens on my desk, and to my astonishment, three of them toppled over as I focused on pushing them. Though my progress was inconsistent throughout the day, there were moments of success when I managed to nudge objects around.
Building on these little triumphs, I decided to switch things up the next day. This time, I attempted to pull something towards me, and much to my delight, it worked, just like the pushing did before. It occurred to me that mastering this power was a matter of training my brain to work in a new, unfamiliar way. While it wasn't something I was accustomed to, I knew that practice held the key to honing this newfound ability.
It made me feel kinda like one of those superheroes where you see them working on using their powers after they were bitten by a radioactive spider. It was just like that but instead of the spider bite, I drank a gallon of vampire semen. Okay, they probably won't make a movie of the girl getting her powers that way. I laughed just thinking about the trailer for that one.
A week later, and my control had vastly improved. I could push or pull pretty much anything to or away from me. I wondered if I could use my power to lift something. I put a book down on my desk and first pushed it away a little, then pulled it back towards me. Knowing that my powers were working, I tried to do the same thing but thinking "lift." My powers didn't seem to cooperate as it only just seemed to push it away again. I kept trying, and eventually, it did start to raise up a little off the desk surface before falling back down. I smiled and kept at it.
After three more days I could lift up an object into the air. It was the coolest thing. The weight of the object did not seem to be an issue. I could lift something extremely heavy or something light as a feather just as easily. The size of the object did matter as I seemed to only have control right now of a relatively small object. I could not seem to get coverage of a larger object. Maybe with practice I would get better with that as well.
It was during this time that Phil came back from his extended road trip and moved into our house. It felt weird having a man in the house on a regular basis. He still went on away games, so he wasn't here 100 percent of the time. I was thankful I had my own bathroom; I would have hated having to share it with a man. My mom was so happy when he came back from his trip, and they were acting like lovebirds, which I was happy to see. I was glad my mom had not lost interest in Phil as she had done with some of her previous boyfriends who had temporarily moved in before she gave them the heave ho. Dinner was more normal now, but I think Phil quickly realized that my mom could not cook at all. I noticed he liked to bring takeout home with him, and sometimes when he did, I gave him a wink, like, 'I see what you're doing, buddy.' Life was good at home.
Time flew by, and before I knew it, the school year was more than half over. I was truly having a blast, enjoying every moment of my life. However, I had to be careful not to reveal my supernatural abilities to anyone, so I kept them a secret and refrained from using them outside the safety of my home. Well, except for that one time with the car incident. My social circle expanded, and I became more amiable with many people at school, but my three best friends remained my main companions. The improvement in my gym performance were undeniable; but I just put them on a growth spurt and leaving behind the awkward phase my body had been in. It actually made sense so nobody questioned it. I was now one of the most athletic girls in the class. Some suggested I try out for sports teams, but I politely declined, worried about attracting unnecessary attention. Staying under the radar was my top priority.
Regrettably, the spotlight was soon going to be squarely on me, and it was for something I truly didn't want to be known for.
Let me know your thoughts.
