Hey, guys!

Yep, we've finished rewriting the backstory of Cinder but since we never really saw the episode but only saw clips and the wiki. It won't be much. Lately, watching RWBY is hard ever since volume 4. But we'll do the best we can.

Disclaimer: We do not own RWBY and Naruto.

Chapter – 2

Let's see… where do I go and tell the life I lived up till the day I met you, young master.

The first thing I would say… the life I lived before that encounter was dull and horrible. But those circumstances… hmm… let's just say that I wouldn't call it as it is now.

Now then, that part of my life started the moment I grew up in an orphanage that could be found anywhere slums were nearby. Even though the Atlas land was prosperous, it didn't mean that everyone within it could have a piece of the cake.

I never knew my parents nor did I ever desire to know anything about them. They could've been the kind that abandons their child or naïve people that died too early because, to me, one only needs strength and authority.

The peers that grew within in that place hated me; it wasn't much of a bother because the feeling was mutual. I can't tell the amount of time I had to fight others that kept looking down on me. There wasn't any time for me to be an ordinary girl, surviving was the only thing in my head at the time.

I did have hope, hoping one day some nice family would take me in and accept me as all orphans do. There wasn't much to desire back then even though that hope of mine was never realized. Who would want the unkept and ruffed orphan?

When those hopes died, I had to change plans. That was freedom, where I wouldn't need to rely on those that would never give me a chance.

But honestly, it was ironic when I had given up on adoption for my freedom. Some atlas elite came to the stick and suddenly took me in.

If they had come to a lot earlier, I might've been ecstatic but at that moment I realized something about the person, the woman that came for me did not want me as a part of her family. No, she just wanted someone to as a working slave.

I was just a kid then, just starting 10 years old. I couldn't go against adults especially when I was such a weak child.

Those do days of weakness kept on, not only did the woman treated like a dog, her daughters add into the fray and a day didn't go by where I hadn't thoughts of doing something to get back at them for the pain and embarrassment. But I couldn't act on it, if anything were to be even misplaced, I would be punished. Something no child shouldn't go through. Sorry, I was being self-pity a lot back then.

Under such a place, I was practically a prisoner. Funny how things turn out after from one horror house to another.

*sigh* I do daydream a lot under such conditions. And it was then when I saw one of the most interesting things. A shiny new weapon was being held by some huntsman. I was a strange child, I'll admit it.

Then one day, I had a thought. A plan or a whimsical thought if you will.

The plan was dangerous but I was already in a state where I would be no better than dying day by day living in that place. So, I did not hesitate.

I stole the weapon and my reason was to gain freedom from that place. A simple plan for a simple child.

The night would've ended quickly with my plan until the owner of the weapon caught me and offer to train me.

The man had hope for me to change plans but he wouldn't understand. In the end, I put a hold because I was weak.

I shared my goals with him only because he was the first person to show real sympathy to me. But the way he shows them was annoying, I rather didn't want such attention.

I had no future, so, I let him train me.

He pities me, I knew that. It wasn't the first time someone had given me such a look. It was frustrated to look down, but with no way on my own. I could only endure.

Years passed by as he trains me, at one point, I wonder why he couldn't just take me away from that place. But I didn't bother asking.

Even from his attention and training, I was still a lonely girl. I kept blaming the life I was living.

Due to the short normal exchanges from the man, I sometimes dreamt of a friend but this stop since, I began to think the only person I should trust was myself.

I couldn't trust anyone because I didn't want to be naïve for an early grave. And yet, because of you, I had hoped for something better but they just had to push me. So, when I went ahead again with my plan for freedom. The person that trained me for the past years didn't support me. He pulls out his weapon and aims at me.

I only wanted the freedom to do what I want when I want. So, I decided to get rid of the obstacles. What was so wrong about that? I had thought and then felt so stupid for trusting.

He should've easily beaten me but his naivety led me to take that chance.

But…

As I was about to plunge the blade into his unguarded chest. You came.

You… came in the way saying, "Please, he was the first one to care about you."

During my training sessions, I came out improving day by day but one particular day led me to you. I only came out to throw away the garbage alone and on that one day where they starved me because of a simple smile I made.

Sitting beside one of the trash cans, you heard me or maybe you heard my growling belly. I was at the time, beaten again, bruise, and also very dirty from their harassment.

Yet, you invited me to eat with you. Even eating in a dark and dingy alley was good in my eyes, though I steel myself then. I had too much pride.

I wouldn't even give a glance but before I left the area, you came to me and just handed me warm food without asking for anything. You just went back and enjoy yourself. On my way back, I wondered why you were even there because better thinking why than my life.

Days went by and I tried to not think about it but it was hard as you always stayed near the trash can as if waiting for me.

At the time, I thought it was nice to find someone giving me nice smiles and words that wouldn't trigger me.

You listen and you never ridicule my actions nor do you pester me for betterment. You were just there, waiting for me and keeping me company. It was enough to get me by the horrible days. Just someone to talk to about trivial things was a nice change.

But… things were always different for me. Maybe I was just very unlucky and as far I could remember, there was no good fortune in my life that last long.

Those people found you and learn why I took longer detours.

They thought you were a fanus and being the elite atlas they were, that woman took you behind others. She must've hurt you so much and yet I couldn't do anything but watch. You were treated even worse than me.

And you never complain, resisted, or hated them. You suffered and yet you never cried in pain. You said you were just glad to see me. Even when I never thought of you as a friend, you just saw me as one without asking for anything. I could apologize.

I asked the huntsman who was training me for help but he was just the same as everyone. Even though, he trains me and gave me good words. He wasn't willing to do much for you saying that it was not easy to help you legally in Atlas because of some excuses people won't cross a line.

He told me to be smart and I hated myself for understanding it.

But it didn't take long for me to snap.

When I saw those daughters of hers, doing atrocious things to you especially with those lust and curiosity in their eyes. I did not hold back my rage anymore. Using everything I learned from the huntsman, I killed those bitches and never bothered the blood now on my hand as I carefully took you down from the chains you were locked on.

You endured just like me but you never retaliate nor asked for helped. We were both so alike and yet so different. Did you stay because of me? Never complained because I was nearby?

I… was taken aback because you were so different.

The woman came in and scream in anger but you were more important.

Maybe if we've met much earlier. Just maybe, I wouldn't have to kill to reach my goal of freedom.

But right then, I knew I couldn't stop but at least I could kill those that hurt me and you. It was too late for me, but I don't mind since I had a reason to kill.

So, when you stop the sword with your body never fearing death. You pled to me, not to hurt him. You knew that the huntsman was the first to care about me, was that why you stop me?

But I hurt you too in the end.

You saw my tears and push yourself into the sword even further never letting the pain get to you, just so you could wipe my tears. I watch in horror and asked you why.

You simply said, "Because we're friends."

My knees weaken, letting go, I let myself fall. Yet, you still caught me, using those warm tails of yours.

So much weld up in me. I apologize to you, tears desperately trying to come out. I asked you not to leave me because I acknowledge your words. After all, there was nothing left for me.

You didn't answer nor you left my side. Why do you make me feel this way? I asked and yet, I don't hate it though…

I fell unconscious for some minute and when I came to. You were still by my side. The sword that I lunge at you now out and you wound already healed. Yet, you never left me.

"Follow me, child. Because it would be best to listen."

That was the first time I heard such a powerful and threatening tone from her. I had thought, I might die then.

By her instruction, I followed her while carrying the sleeping you in my arms.

We were able to safely escape Atlas following her.

I wanted to ask things but I knew if I did then, I might not see another day. I could only follow as my grip tighten to you.

I later learned the death of my previous supposed guardian and her daughters were found dead and that a huntsman confessed he did it. It was strange, I knew the man wouldn't be such a person to cover for me but she came and order me to take you somewhere as I followed the floating Grimm-like orb. I wonder if it was her doing.

Until I met you, I never realized the fun of freedom. The ability to act and do what you like without others' views in the way. The power to enjoy a moment.

And until I met her, the never realized how powerless I was and my hunger for power. There was no such strength nor position higher than hers, she was just the embodiment of power and authority. I desire it.

So, I've decided to follow her. My goals will come eventually and I know you'll be there too.

A day came, the most unprecedented event that trickle my emotions in the wrong way.

"MISTRESS!"

I barged into the meeting room. I needed her help to find him.

How could I make myself be fooled by a mere intruder…? My frustration for being fooled by some mere intruder anger me so much.

"…" There, the powerful followers of the Mistress sat while the Mistress explained what they'll need to do. But now, something more important has come to hand.

"Cinder… what can be so important to disrupt this meeting?"

I shiver down under her calm yet dominant gaze but I still need to speak out.

"The young master *huff*…" I lost my posture but it was the least most important thing now, "…the young master was-"

"Taken, I know."

I could see the anger in her eyes and the powerful dark aura she was exerting but I cannot understand why she wasn't doing anything about it.

"Then what should we-"

"Quiet, I let this happened, the little one requires to learn the remnant this world has become, alone again."

"Mistress…"

I was pent up with rage. The young master was taken. Something very important and she dismissed it as something inconvenient.

"I can see your anger child."

"!" I was lifted by her again, the suffocating power she held grips my senses but my rage did not subside.

"By no means will I let this slide seamlessly. Remember child, some things need to be done, things that require a more drastic measure to acquire for a greater rate of success."

"!" She let me off the hook this time but I don't think I can anger her the next time without a death warrant.

"Young master…" I wonder if this is another weakness but it's a weakness I simply can't let go of.

"haha… Does the little girl have affection for the young paramour?"

"!" That man, I despise him. Not only does he disregard the young master's presence he also comes up with those annoying jabs. I can't wait for the day I control more power than he will ever dream off.

"Dr. Watts, I believed I warned you before."

"My apologizes."

"!" I politely excuse myself from the room. I will surpass that fool and gain more. Wait for me young master. The day when we'll reunite will come.

Normal P.O.V

"Your grace, forgive me for my sudden question but I fear the young master's memories will fade again… making your plans a bit more difficult. Is it not the time of his interval yet?"

"Yes, that time has come yet again." The woman with immense dominant aura had her slender palm grip in anger, "…."

Not understand the silence of their leader, the man named Dr. Watts called out, "Your grace?"

"This short 2 years with him again... You should know how powerful his promises are."

"You don't mean… I see… I believed I understand what you mean."

"No matter what happens… even fate won't change the promise the little one and I made. Even dear Oz won't find a solution."

The woman was so certain in the future she foresaw with a mere thought. So sure, that she couldn't help the small smile to etch on her pale lips.

Mistral

Outside the realm of the barren land, we find the intruder that had snuck into the castle appearing out of some sort of portal.

The intruder then runs through the forest of the kingdom and region of Mistral.

The region is known for its geographical nature; this intruder runs through the trees step by step. This person wore a mask and from the physic, it was a woman with a deathly aura.

She was also carrying a large brown bag containing something alive. And from the fast pace, she was on, it seems she was not out of danger yet.

"GRAAAA!" Powerful multiple screeches came from behind and even pushed the woman a little out of her pace.

"tsk!" The woman cursed at the luck she had. She did not account for the sudden number of Grimms to follow her.

*Sling!*

*Slash!*

The woman stopped and so did the horde of Grimms. Both sides turned to the person that had suddenly killed a few of the Grimms.

"Qrow…"

"Whoops! thought you were some random huntresses I could pick up."

"You're drunk."

"And you're my sister so… HA!" The man slipped and fell on his butt.

"…." The woman was annoyed but didn't let the chance slip away.

"Take care of them for me…" She smirked at a good chance. She knew he'll be able to handle them and start running again.

"huh?" The man was a bit too drunk to catch on until he found she left him to fight the charging horde of Grimms.

"I hate... her…." Positioning himself forward, the man grumbles. Even with his drunk state the man named Qrow ready himself for the first grim to come.

"Graa!" But the strangest thing happened and the man will never forget even if he was drunk.

"What the….?" The man withdraws his weapon and with a shocked expression stares at the horde of Grimms that just run past him to start chasing his sister again. They completely ignored him.

"…?" The woman was annoyed again at the horde of Grimms chasing her again. "…." She gritted her teeth feeling a bit frustrated.

She wondered why the horde of Grimms chased her again. She knew her brother would've stayed and fight as well as easily defeat them. But there they were still chasing her for some reason and their number just increased as well.

"Hey…"

And her brother also immediately caught up to her. She felt annoyed even more. She was a woman who did not like it when her plans did not go how she wanted.

"How did you get so… popular with those bunch, huh? And how did you get those injuries? Did you get your butt kick? Thought the Raven I know was so~ strong."

The man was right. The woman indeed had numerous injuries and blood spilling out of her forehead.

"Shut up." She snapped at him, "If you're not gonna help get lost."

She cursed for falling into the trapped she thought she could avoid. Now, she had other things to worry about but she was still glad she at least took something really important.

"What's funny is that? Even though, even though I'm drunk…"

"….."

"I still caught up to you? Did you get rusty sis?"

*slash!*

The man jumps backward and smirks for avoiding her sudden attack, "You missed."

"I don't have time for this Qrow! If you only came to bother me at least take care of those Grimms."

"Oh~ my sister can't even handle a few Grimms *hic* what a joke."

"If you had gone through what I had tonight… I don't think you'd be even standing here."

She was serious, what she had done tonight was a suicidal mission o her own. A death warrant she just placed on herself.

Her aura was almost drained, she might be a powerful huntress but it doesn't mean she can always stay at the top.

"Whatever..." he was too drunk to care, "Whatever you did… made them ignore me to chase you, so what could…."

His eyes landed on the large brown bag she was carrying, "What's you got there?"

"…" The woman narrows her eyes at him and turned away to start running.

"A bandit that steals from people and Grimms… haha… that's funny." He was again in her way, "So what's in it?"

This time the drunken man expressed his seriousness by drawing his blade at her.

"None of your business."

"I wonder how long can you keep this up by the amount of blood your losing, you'll go down after a few more minutes and get to be a meat sack for those Grimms."

"…"

"The clock is ticking Raven." Qrow now glaring at the woman became serious, "What's in it?"

"…." A smirk forms on the woman's lips, it was an expression the man was very familiar with.

"!" Diving down to avoid a gunshot, the man then deflects the others before staring at the woman now on a motorbike with a few bunches of other bandits appearing with their motorbikes. He still hated the place his sister returned to.

"Looks like it's my lucky day."

Her words tickle his funny bone and this made him look at her with a smirk, "There's one thing you forgot."

The man was surely lucky for the funny misery his sister was facing.

The incoming Grimms got closer and closer but none of them move yet.

"What?"

"I'm bad luck."

"…." Her eyes widen at the sudden realization but she could not react fast enough due to her injury. Thus, a nevermore swoops down and took the large brown bag, and flew away.

"!"

"Hehe… Sorry sis but my rides here." The man jumps as a huge aircraft pulls him up before the plane chase after the nevermore that took the large brown bag.

"Boss?"

*slam!* Her fist smashed the helm of the motorbike.

"Withdraw!" She and her goons then rode back to their hideout while the horde of Grimms scattered as if the rage they had earlier was suddenly gone the moment her large brown bag was taken into the air.

It started to drizzle a little. It did not affect the land much, though it made the night a little colder than usual.

"Hmm… what was really in here?"

Qrow was able to catch up with the nevermore but couldn't find what was inside since it was empty the moment he arrives.

"What is going on?" The man was confused especially at the small footprints left where the large brown bag was.

"….."

"!" Quickly drawing his blade, Qrow immediately points his blade at the person that made a noise behind him.

"….." But for some reason, his eyes widen, his heart beating painfully and his mind questioning the person he was pointing his blade with.

He couldn't understand what and why he was seeing someone that was supposed to be dead.

The familiar white cloak, the familiar beautiful pale face, and the familiar silver eyes, all made him muttered a single name. "S-Summer…"

"….."

"Wait!" The man chased her. He desperately needed to know if what he was seeing was real or not.

"Summer! Is that you!?" As he chased after her, he needs to at least make her talk.

"…."

"It's me, Qrow!"

"…."

"How are you still alive?! If you're alive answer me!" The man was annoyed that he couldn't catch up to her. He remembered she was as fast as usual.

"….."

"Summer! Your kids need you! Ty needs you too!"

"…"

In the end, he couldn't catch up but from the way she went the man figured where to go and finally stopped before a large oak tree giving shelter from the rain above.

"….."

He didn't know what was going and why he saw her. He never thought about how the woman he was following never made any footprints.

"Summer… what are you trying to tell me?" Even though he accepted the idea of her being alive was not possible. He could not ignore the very familiar white cloak on the ground or more specifically the cloak covering a child with golden hair and eight golden tail fox.

"I need a drink." Feeling extremely tired, the man sat beside the sleeping child while drinking the reserve he still had on. He continues to stay quiet while watching over the child under the oak tree.

And done!
