[Twelve Sixteen Franklin Ave: Rita and Lynn Sr's bedroom]

'So this is Professor Augustine Sycamore...' thought Rita, looking at the man who was apparently one of her father's oldest friends despite the fact he doesn't look as old as her father.

But then again Albert always told her that Augustine looked young for his age, so maybe that was what was going on.

"So this is the grandson you were telling me about the last time we talked."said Professor Sycamore as she got a good look at Lincoln through the screen." I must say he looks a lot like you when you were his age, down to the turkey tail haircut."

"Yeah, Lincoln does look a lot like me when I was his age."agreed Albert with a smile.

"I'm sorry but what is this Pokemon trainer thing and what does it have to do with the dragon in the room?"asked Lincoln while pointing his thumb at Flygon.

As soon as those words came out of Lincoln's mouth did Professor Sycamore give Albert a look."Albert, you didn't tell your grandchildren about Pokemon?"

This made Albert scratch his head nervously as how was he supposed to respond to that."Well... it kind of just slipped my mind as I've been quite busy trying to live my life. Retirement is not easy and the slightest and you better than anyone know that."said Albert in his defense.

"Yes, I suppose..."said Professor Sycamore, although the look on his face stated that he thought otherwise.

"Well, I suppose I should explain everything from the beginning."said Professor Sycamore before he took a deep breath."Hello, my name is Professor Augustine Sycamore but many call me the Pokemon professor of Kalos."

Lincoln on the other hand wondered why the professor was reintroducing himself although it sounded like he was reading from some kind of script that was off screen. Rita and Lynn Sr thought the same thing as they looked at the professor with bewilderment.

"I come from a land known as Kalos, a large Island located off the coast of France. Where I am from Liv magnificent creatures known as Pokemon. You can find Pokemon pretty much all over Kalos, from the skies, to the land, all the way to the ocean. This world is filled with Pokemon of different shapes and sizes, and each is more unique than the last. You can go anywhere as long as you have pokémon by your side. Are you ready to begin your adventure through the world of Pokemon? Tres bein, I hope to see you soon."said the professor before he appeared to have finished his sentence."Sorry, the Pokemon League has made its standard that I give that speech to anyone who wants to become a Pokemon trainer."

"Wow, they really changed the rules since I became a Pokemon trainer."said Albert, who appeared to have been amused by the speech.

"So what do I get to do if I become a Pokemon trainer?"questions Lincoln.

"Well most pokémon trainers either train their pokémon for contests, or for the purpose of battle."said the professor, before noticing a look on Lincoln's face.

"Oh no, it's not what you think. This is nothing like the barbaric practices that are practice all over the world. I can I show you Pokemon battling is one of the safest professions in the world as there is on site medical care with some of the most cutting edge science that is available."said the professor, as he could immediately tell that Lincoln was skeptical about this whole Pokemon trainer thing.

"And even if we didn't tell him to do it Pokemon would battle each other anyway as it's in their very nature."added Albert, causing his grandson to look at him.

"Really, Pop-Pop?"questions Lincoln with a confused look.

"Since their great ancestor Mew Pokemon battle each other out for the purpose of getting stronger. Some do it just to get stronger while others do it to achieve some form of evolution. Then about a couple centuries ago Pokemon discovered that by joining up with a human, the process of leveling up so to speak happens at a much faster rate as the strongest known Pokemon are owned by Pokemon trainers. That is why many wild Pokemon will purposely run in front of a human to see if they are worthy of capturing them and training them for battle."said Albert, all the while Professor Sycamore was nodding his head in agreement.

"Think of it as a sport more than anything."added the professor to his friend's conversation.

"Well I'm still skeptical about this but I guess as long as the Pokemon are okay with this then I have no complaints. So what exactly do I need to do to be a Pokemon trainer?"question Lincoln as the professor took a deep breath.

"Well, all you really need to do is pass a test and go through a background check."said Professor Sycamore, causing Lincoln to look at him with a look of confusion.

"Ah man, I have to take a test."said Lincoln has he was never the biggest fans of test that's who what his age would be a fan of a test.

"A test and a background check? That was never an issue when I became a Pokemon trainer back in my day?"fat Albert, who was clearly just as confused as his grandson.

"Well, after certain incidents involving several inexperienced trainers the Pokemon League decided that Pokemon trainers from now on need to go through a background check, along with going through a standardized test issued by the Pokemon League to see if they are capable of handling Pokemon."said the professor has the Louds in the room quickly understood what he meant by his words.

Pokemon weren't your run-of-the-mill pets. They we're literally creatures that could breathe fire and shoot electricity, so it makes sense that they don't just want to give anybody a Pokemon when they're clearly not capable of handling the responsibilities needed to properly take care of them.

"Well, I guess that makes sense."said Lincoln as he quickly understood the situation as he was a bit mature for his age thanks to growing up in a hectic household his whole life.

"So how soon can you take this test because I have a feeling he's going to pass the background check no problem."said Albert, has Lincoln didn't have a criminal record so passing the background check should have been quite easy.

"Tell me your address."said Professor Sycamore, confusing the people in the room.

"Twelve sixteen Franklin Street: Royal Woods, Michigan."answered Lynn Sr, before the professor look like he typed something down.

"Thank you. Now please wait a moment while we respond."said Professor Sycamore through the screen, confusing everyone including his old friend Albert.

They wondered how he was going to send something so fast before they got their answer a few seconds later when they saw that something teleported into their room! A yellow humanoid creature with a long, thin snout, long pointed ears, two long wispy mustache-like tufts of fur on the sides of its face, bulky brown-colored shoulders, a long thick tail with a brown band around its base, three clawed fingers on each of its three-fingered 'hands', and a red star on its forehead. In its left 'hand' was a spoon that appeared to be made of silver. On the creature's head was a little postman cap while draped around its shoulder was a canvas bag that reminded the Louds of something a postman would use.

"Kadabra."said the creature before it reached into its bag and handed linking a package and an envelope with an official seel of a pokeball.

"I sent Kababra here to deliver you the test along with several other items you will need if you pass the test and become an official Pokemon trainer."said Professor Sycamore before he looked Lincoln in the eye."I suggest you use the next following hours to study as tomorrow I will call at this time and I expect the test to be shown to me with every single question answered."

"I will do my best to study and pass this test as there's no way I can cheat as I don't think I'll find anything about Pokemon with my phone."said Lincoln as he gave the scouts honor salute.

"Well then, I expect to hear from you soon, Lincoln Loud."said Professor Sycamore, before he looked at his old friend Albert."And do not help him cheat."

"Augustine I'm hurt. Do you think I would go against the Pokemon League's rules just to help out my grandson."said Albert who was clearly faking his hurt feelings, causing the professor to give him a look."I promise to behave... just this once."

"That is all I ask."said the professor, before cutting off the screen as the Pokemon known as Kadabra teleported out of the room as soon as it handed Lincoln the parcel.

"Wow, that was fast."said Lincoln as he looked over the box and the envelope.

"Yeah, really fast."said Rita, before everyone in the room noticed that she had a look on her face that said she didn't agree with any of this.

"What's wrong, Rita?"questions her father, as he could immediately tell that she was not on board with this.

"Well I'm still not a hundred percent on board with sending to Kalos."said Rita, causing her son to give her a look.

"Before anything else is said I must mention that I want to take this trip alone."said Lincoln, shocking his parents.

"Alone? Lincoln, I understand that you're still mad about the Protocol and being left out of it, but aren't you being a bit...well, unfair here?" questioned Rita with a raised eyebrow.

"Unfair, Rita? Before you two finally put an end to protocol nonsense on the matter, both of you were just fine with your girls bringing this Protocol business into your home and excluding Lincoln from it, but he mentions that he'd like to have something to himself and you call it 'unfair'?" asked Albert in disapproval. "I thought you two would be above playing favorites with your kids."

This causes Rita to stutter before she answers her father's question "I-it's not that, Dad. It's just that...well, we're supposed to be a family and as such, all of us should be doing stuff together with each other."

That is when Lynn Sr besides to add his two cents "What she said. Family should stick with each other, no matter what. And no one gets left out in the Loud family. No sirree."

"...Unfair, you say?" repeated Lincoln, his smile fading. "...Do you want to know what's really 'unfair'?"

"Er...what's 'unfair', son?"asked both Loud parents.

"...'Unfair' is my sisters tricking me into doing stuff for them because I decided that I wanted to enjoy some much-needed peace and quiet from the usual insanity I have to deal with on a daily basis. 'Unfair' is me being the one to keep everything going smoothly during school morning so we won't be late because the girls can't keep themselves focused on getting ready. 'Unfair' is Luan getting away with keeping a collection of all of my embarrassing moments on tape as well as posting videos of our family's embarrassing moments on her channel while I catch flak from the others just for doing it once. 'Unfair' is me having to face the scorn of both my teacher and my entire class about how much energy our family uses when something like that is completely out of my control. 'Unfair' is me catching a bunch of crap from the rest of you about Lisa purposely dumbing herself down and being unable to help you out with stuff that you can easily do yourself."

"I wouldn't say my request is unfair, Mom." said Lincoln as he turned to face his mother and continued with "You see, 'Unfair' is me catching all the blame for getting our family banned at the grocery store, even though I wasn't the one causing trouble there. I'm especially mad at you about that one because you didn't even give me the chance to explain what had happened! You just saddled me with the blame and left it at that, even though I was the only one trying to get the shopping done while the girls were goofing off!"

Like her husband, Rita was left feeling embarrassed, especially since she had learned the truth about what had happened once the manager lifted the ban on her family.

Continuing his tangent, Lincoln says "Do you two want to know what else is unfair? The fact that my sisters are apparently allowed to kick me out of my own room or take my belongings whenever they please while the Protocol was in effect. And it's especially unfair that everyone else - and that includes you two - apparently knew about the Sister Fight Protocol for the longest time while I hadn't even heard a whisper of it until just yesterday! I mean, sure, you two thought that the others had told me about it, but it would've been nice to inform me of it anyway instead of leaving me out to dry! And I haven't forgotten that you two decided to let me fend for myself after you two boarded yourselves up in your room!"

"Now everything I stated above is unfair. Am I a saint? No! But the girls have done far worse than I have and it's not okay that I can never butt into their business but they can do it anytime I do anything. So me asking to go on a solo trip isn't so hard to swallow."said Lincoln, justifying his reasons for wanting to go alone.

Instead of replying to their son's rant, both Rita and her husband just stood there, completely speechless for a few moments before the former finally spoke.

"You two aren't bad parents. Far from it." said Lincoln, trying his best to calm down."But it seems that when it comes to the girls and me, you two usually give them a fairer shake at things compared to what I get when it comes to our family. The fact you two had gotten on my case about wanting this trip for myself is proof of that. I mean, sure, you banned the Protocol from the house, but let's face it. If he incident didn't get out of hand and the girls didn't wreck the house with their fight earlier, you two would still be fine with them using the protocol whenever things don't go their way."

That final statement just caused the Loud parents to lower their heads in shame, unable to refute their son's words.

"Lincoln, that's enough. I think you've made your point." said Albert, causing his grandson to nod before sitting back down.

That is when Albert looks at his daughter and son-in-law."Still, he's right - if you had allowed the girls to have this Protocol business - especially with it being called the 'Sister Fight Protocol' - for themselves without their brother's input, then I think it's only fair that Lincoln should get something meant for himself, too."

That is when Lincoln spoke up again."What he said. You two can't have it both ways." before giving his grandfather a smile. "Thanks for having my back on this, Pop-Pop."

"Anytime, kiddo. Now then, let's get back to the matter at hand." replied his grandfather before continuing. "I know you two are keen on the whole 'family should stick together' deal, but I want you two to recall something: Lincoln and the girls nearly got into it with each other just a few moments ago in the front yard. Wouldn't it be better to put some distance between them until things calm back down again? Especially with how angry they are at him because he didn't get grounded like they did? They nearly attacked him in front of me, in public"

This causes Rita to wince before she decides to concede her argument. "Alright, that's a fair point."

Then she looks over at her son. "Still...a year away from home is a long time, even if it's to help you become a Trainer like Pop-Pop. And while I know that you really want to become one...well, wouldn't you rather wait somewhere closer to home until things blow over so you and your sisters can all go together? How about Aunt Ruth's house? I'm sure that she'd welcome the company."

That is when she got deadpan look from Lincoln, Lynn, and Albert, and that was enough of an answer to her suggestion.

Frowning, Lynn Sr. answers "Honey, you know that I don't like speaking ill of people, right? Well, even I think that would be a bad idea. Making Lincoln stay with your aunt would be more like a punishment than anything else. No offense, Albert."

"None taken." replied the older male, understanding his son-in-law's reasoning.

"Agreed. Sorry Mom but I rather have to listen Luan's bad jokes for a whole day then stay with Aunt Ruth. I'm sure you understand what I mean, Pop-Pop"said Lincoln to his grandfather, who just nodded his head.

"The place smells like a litterbox that hadn't been cleaned out in a year or two, so I can't blame you for that. Heck, I'm pretty sure that during my last visit to see Ruthie, I'm pretty sure I stepped in some pudding that hasn't been used since World W ar II."said Albert before he was cut off

Clearly flustered, Rita exclaims "Okay, that's enough! Aunt Ruth's out of the question!" before addressing her son again. "...I guess there's no changing your mind about this? Are you absolutely sure that you want to go alone?"

"I'm sure. This is something I want to do, Mom."said Lincoln, who wanted to do this ever since he saw Flygon

"Well, that's all well and good, but now I'm concerned about how you're going to contact us in case of an emergency, son." answered Lynn Sr with his usual worry worry.

"Well according to this contract that sycamore sent from the Pokemon League. All you have to do is connect a device that's in the package to any computer and you will be able to speak to the person on the other hand who is either using a Rotom phone, or a VideoPhone to communicate. Also it is standard issue for the Pokemon professor of the region to give regular reports of a trainer's progress to the trainers immediate family."said Albert who had opened up the envelope to see that there was a contract inside.

"Well, that eases a lot of my concerns." said Lynn, smiling. "You've got my okay on the matter, son. Sure, part of me wishes that you could bring the girls with you so it'd be a 'real' adventure, but I suppose there's always next time, right?"

Nodding, Lincoln replies "Yeah, I guess. I mean, they can't stay mad at me forever over this and it's not like Kalos is going to be the only region that I'm going to be visiting in the future."

"And I think this will teach the girls some responsibility."said Albert, before he continued."Lincoln has told me countless stories about how Lola uses him as her pageant coach / butler. He also told me how Lori is under the delusion that He and her boyfriend's little sister are meant to be together or something like that even though they have only agreed to stay friends. So in short I believe the girls need to learn what life will be like without their brother to have their back whenever they get into trouble. Now I'm not saying they can't get out of trouble themselves they just need to learn that they can't always use their brother as they're punching bag whenever they're upset or want something to go their way."

"In short, I'm expected to do a lot of things for our family, namely the girls." added Lincoln before he continued."It'll teach them not to take me for granted once everything blows up in their faces. Either way, they're bound to learn something from this, too."

Quickly realizing what this meant, Albert starts laughing uproariously, saying "Oh, you sneaky little son-of-a-gun! That's brilliant!"

"That's our little 'man with the plan' for you!" chuckled Lynn Sr, while Rita puts on an expression of mock disappointment, trying to fight the urge to smile herself.

"Hmph. And here I was thinking you were better than that, Lincoln." scolded the blonde, wagging a chiding finger at her son. "I suppose, in that case, it might be best to put some space between you and your sisters after all."

Realizing what this meant, Lincoln whoops joyously before hugging both of his parents tightly, causing both of them to return the gesture with just as much enthusiasm while Albert smiles in approval at the sight.

"Now that that is all settled I think Lincoln should use this thing I brought from the retirement home to help him out with his studies."said Albert before he pulled out an uncyclopedia that said Pokemon 101.

"Where will you keeping that?"questions Rita, who doesn't remember seeing her father bring it in.

"I have my ways."said Albert probably has Lincoln took the book away from him.

"Wow, thanks Pop-Pop."said Lincoln as he open the book and immediately began reading.

"I suggest that you stay here for the night as clearly the girls are still mad with you and might try to attack you in your sleep. So the safest place you can be tonight is here."said Albert, causing all three Louds to know their heads as they knew that this was the truth.

"Yeah, I'll just use the corner away from the poop bucket to study up and then take my test first thing tomorrow morning. I'm going to have to pull my first all-nighter but it will be worth it."said Lincoln with a smile before he headed to a nearby corner and began reading the book that his grandfather provided.

"He looks so excited about learning about Pokemon."said Rita, who was glad to see that her son finally found something he could dedicate his heart to as he was never one to stick with anything.

Like when he tried karate but that was because he heard himself and ended up having to go to the hospital after he broke his hand...

Or when he ran that marathon and pathetically came in last place when everyone else had already left...

"I know what you mean."said Albert, before he noticed that Flygon was biting Lynn Sr's hair all the while the man in question was asking that he stopped."Alright buddy, return as I don't want you to take what's left of Lynn's hair."said the old man before he recalled his Pokemon.

Meanwhile upstairs the girls will communicating through their phones as they didn't want to be caught in the same room doing a sister only meeting as they figured any moment their parents would go up and check them.

"Ahh, I hate being confined to my room."said Lola, mainly cuz she had to be near her twin sisters stinky clothes pile all the time.

"Well it's not like we can do anything when our grandfather is this upset with us as he is the patriarch of the Loud family for a reason."said Lisa with her usual monotone voice.

"All we tried to do is teach that twerp a lesson and now we're being punished."said Lori, still upset that they had to give up some of their stuff to make payments for the stuff they broke.

"Ahh, I don't want to lose my instruments dude but the rents are super pissed."said Luna, who had never seen her father that angry before today.

"I know... I'm going to miss my sewing equipment."said Leni, who was hugging her mannequin.

"Why doesn't Lincoln have to give anything up when he's the one who started this."said Luan, clearly upset that you was about to lose her laptop.

"I know! Why do I have to give up my tools just for Lincoln!"said Lana in agreement.

"What do you think Stinkcoln is even doing it right now."said Lynn while doing push-ups to calm herself down.

"I don't know and I honestly don't care. All I know is that he will be gone for a while and that is all that matters. I swear, I'll give him a few days before he comes back groveling before I forgiveness as he won't be able to handle being away from home for too long."said Lori with a smile.

"I know. Lincoln has never been away from home before and he is too much of a softy to handle how tough the real world is so I'm sure he'll come back begging for forgiveness."said Lola with a similar smile.

"What if he leaves it never comes back?"asked Lucy, causing the Loud sisters to grow quiet.

"Oh come on Lucy, it's Lincoln. I'm sure he'll never do that as we're family."said Luna, noticing the distress in her little sister.

"But I overheard him in the events earlier and he clearly wants to leave."said Lucy, who overheard some of the conversation Lincoln had with their parents through the vent in the bathroom.

She didn't hear everything as the sound was muffled here and there thanks to the way their family was speaking.

"Don't worry Lucy's I'm sure that loser will never think of leaving us. After all sooner or later he's going to realize that this is mostly his fault and that he'll have to do a lot to make it up to us."said Lynn, trying to assure her roommate that everything was going to work out.

"Oh, but what do you think he's going to do and where do you think he's going to go?"asked Leni with concern.

"Why are you asking for his well-being when literally just a moment ago you tried to attack him with the rest of us."said Lori, wondering what her roommate was doing with her sudden one eighty.

"Well I'm just worried as he's my little brother and nothing's going to change that."said Leni, justifying herself.

"Just you watch as I'm sure Lincoln will realize what he's done and will spend the rest of his life trying to make it up for us for messing with the protocol."said Lori, assuring her roommate that everything was going to be okay.

Little did any of the Loud sisters know that things were not going to be that easy...

(A few hours later)

Lincoln had just memorized the last page of the book is grandfather provided him. Albert decided to stay the night at the loud house in order to ensure that none of his granddaughters try anything funny at night by sleeping on the living room couch.

As for Lincoln he was sleeping on the corner of his parents bedroom with a few pillows to act as a back support as he tossed and turned as he appeared to be having a dream.

In the dream he was standing at a large stadium with crowds of people cheering his name. He looked around and saw many familiar faces including his friends and family cheering him on as he wondered where he was and what he was doing there.

That is when he noticed six particular creatures standing in front of him. They were too blurry to see any particular details but Lincoln was sure they were six of them and they appeared to have trusted him with every ounce of strength they could muster in their bodies.

Lincoln didn't know why but he felt close to these creatures like they had been through so much together, and he could do anything with them by his side.

That is when Lincoln noticed that someone was standing in front of him. That someone was a beautiful looking woman wearing a strange white outfit. In front of her was an assortment of creatures of her own, including one creature that look vaguely feminine from the details he could see. There was also a necklace around the woman that was similar to the necklace that the creature was wearing.

Then out of nowhere the woman grabbed the necklace and strange energy started to come out of the necklace in the form of many laser beams. The creature in front of her meanwhile release laser beams of its own and soon they connected and the creature took on a new shape.

'Is this a premonition of what is to come?' wondered Lincoln as he did his best to get some sleep as tomorrow he was going to take his test and see if he would pass it with flying colors.

After all that test will decide whether or not he would become a Pokemon trainer!

[After experiencing a hectic day with the sister fight protocol, learning about Pokemon, and a chance to becoming a Pokemon trainer, it is safe to say that Lincoln has a lot going on in his life. Will Lincoln be able to pass his test and background check to become a Pokemon trainer? Only time will tell as the journey continues as it appears Fate has something big in store for the young middle child of the Loud family]

[To Be Continued]

Phew... finally managed to finish this chapter of XY Loud.

I already have the starter Pokemon chosen but if you want to give any suggestions for Lincoln's team feel free to leave a comment or send me a PM with your suggestion.

Hey, I was thinking about making another Galar story starring Lincoln but I'm still not sure if I'm going to do it or not.

If I do do it Scorbunny will not be the starter Pokemon as I'm already using him for 'Lincoln's Galar Adventures.'

So if I do a Galar story, should Grokey be the starter Pokemon?

Or should it be Sobble?

I'm still not sure if I'm going to do this or not as it's just an idea in my head right now and I'm right now trying to focus on making my other stories a bit longer before I finally complete them.

Lincoln's Galar Adventures should get a update soon, so please wait until then.

I hope to see all of you again and I will be here next time.

PrimusPilus signing off!
