*Everest pov right before dusk*
I was laying in my pup's house after an exhausting workday at the resort. I look at the clock on my nightstand with a pendant. Already 5:40! I get up and take the pendant and put it on my neck and take a look around my pup house. I look at my pup pack and the one next to it. The one next to my first one was teal with red outlines.
My pup house is mostly kept clean thanks to Skye. I smile at the fun time I had with her the first time she came in here, it was a mess! If it were not for her I don't think it would have ever of been cleaned. Then my mind goes to a certain pup I hold dear and I smiled at the thought.
"Hey Everest, dinner's ready! I hear Jake yell out to me."
"I'm coming! I yell to him. I wonder what is on the menu."
I walk into the cabin and smell the sweet smell of pizza and liver, my favorite. I see Jake pulling out the pizza and putting it on the table. "Dinner is served." He tells me and puts a few slices in my pup bowl.
We just sit and enjoy our meals for a few just enjoying each other's company. "So, Ryder told me that the yearly Paw Patrol meeting is on this Friday!" He tells me in an ecstatic voice.
"That's great! I can't wait to see the pups again!" I say excitedly.
"Are you sure that is not just an excuse so you can see a special some pup?" He teases me and I blush. "Shut up," I tell him flustered at what he said, and look away from him.
"Oh come on Everest, I see the way you stare at him." He tells me and I blush brighter. "Stop it, Jake!" I yell at him and he laughs a little.
"Anyway, you want to watch a movie after?" He tells me.
I finally stop blushing, "Sure what could go wrong?" I say to him…
The time is 6:05.
me and Jake were just getting ready to start the movie we heard some rustling from outside, then something busted through the window.
The thing that burst through the window shook me to my very core. There stud a black wolf starring me down. It looks at me and smiles.
"So this is where you have been hiding all these years," he tells me.
I just look at him and snarl. He chuckles at that. "No need to be hostile not like you could do anything anywa-" the wolf tried to say but was cut off by Jake throwing a chair at him.
"Come, Everest, into my room," Jake tells me and I follow.
We make it into his room and try to lock the door but the wolf from before jumps in after us. "Come here, you little Shit!" Yell the wolf, jump on Jake, and scratched his neck, but Jake quickly recover and grabbed a knife that fell off his nightstand and plunged it into his neck. He screamed but Jake grabbed his neck and broke it.
"Jake, your neck!" I say pointing at his new neck wound.
He looks at me. "Everest, you need to run, they are after you so here." He tells me and picks me up and opens the window and puts me on it. "You need to go now." He tells me.
"But what about you?" I ask him knowing he is in danger too. He looks at me and hugs me. "I will be fine just be safe now go." He pushes me to go and I run straight to my pup house and grab the teel and red pup pack. I strap it on quickly, see three wolfs, and start running.
I run as fast as I can not knowing where I am going but I still hear they're howling behind me. I run past tree by tree until I meet a cliff. I almost fall off and see a few pebbles fall, I turn around and see the three wolfs look at me.
"Finally, you stop running, I like better when they just sit there so we can get this over with." One of the wolfs tells me.
"Now, please follow us, or will you try to fight us?" another asks.
"I won't go with you not this time," I say and bark out a command to my pup pack. A cyan bow comes out and a quiver. The metal arm that holds the bow loads an arrow in.
"So you think just cause you can use a human tool you can face us, think again," The second wolf said and tried to attack me but I block him with my bow which just so happens to be aimed at his neck, I pull a string and fire it straight into his skull, ending him quickly.
"HOLY SHIT, he's dead." One said
"I'll kill you for that!" He other yell running at me but he was too late as my bow already has a new arrow in it. I pull the string again and I land another headshot killing him instantly.
I see the other one start to run. "Not dying today thank you." He said while running while away. I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding and looked down the cliff and saw the bay.
Normally it would be so peaceful but now I hear howling and screams for help. I see a few fire litter around the bay. This is all my fault, I should have never come here. "You can still save them." I hear a voice from behind me and snarl. I turn around and see a black wolf bigger than the rest with yellow eyes.
"Why come look for me?" I ask him.
"Simple, all the wolves want you dead so here is the deal, you will be executed at midnight in front of the whole clan if you wish the people here to be safe you will come with me or you can run and watch as you see your friends cut down one by one until there is no one left so what will it be, be a coward and run or will you face your death and save many." He asks me making me make a hard decision.
On one hand, I can try to find help or I can give up my life for others. There were so many things I wanted to d before by death but I guess it came a little too fast. "Will leave my friends out of this if I go with you," I ask him, hoping I can protect them this time so things won't turn out like last time.
He snarls at what I said. "I can't believe you actually call those feeble canine friends, it is a disgrace but if it gets you there faster I will promise that no harm will be or will be caused to the Paw Patrol." He tells to my relief.
I look down at my pup tag and think of all the fun I have had with them these last five years, I will miss them. I rip off my pup tag and put it on the floor. "I will go with you," I tell him and he smiles
"Good, now let us get going let's not keep the devil waiting." He tells me as I follow him into the darkness…
*Nobody's pov*
You see Spyro finish watching the tape of Everest last time she had her pup tag on. you look around and see he is in a ship-model modified omicron-class shuttle. You can see the blue hwoo of hyperspace out the ship's windshield.
He looks at his watch but it is big and can do more than just any watch. It was given to him by his friend Bolt when he was first getting into the world and just how cruel it was but that isn't why you are here.
He turns to the picture app on his watch and scrolls to a picture of him and Marshall, which was just taken a few days ago when he brought him to an Italian restaurant to enjoy some much need of time with his favorite pup.
Then he makes it to a picture they took as a team, the one most of the team cherishes. He looks at how Everest is hugging Marshall and smiles but only for a moment has the day finally caught up to him and sheds a few tears.
"You are on your own now kid, just keep her alive until midnight, I can do the rest." He says to himself as he looks onto the road ahead.
