Her eyes fluttered; a small groan was drawn from her. Everything looked hazy as she tried to adjust herself to the new surroundings. Shaking her head, she looked upwards and then she knew where she was. Fear instantly instilled into her chest as she slowly and cautiously pushed herself up. The fade. She scanned every nook and cranny without so much as moving. I haven't been to this part before… Not like last time. I can even see the Black City. Slowly her gaze lifted as she viewed the city itself. It was too far in the distance to see any details, but the story was true. It was there in all its glory… Well, once a glory; before it was defiled by humans. Leliana and Mother Giselle had hardwired that into her memories. It was part of her daily routine before she got to train with Solas.
Solas. She bit her bottom lip as everything came flooding back. The Pride Demon which was brought on by her own emotions. One mistake and everything is thrown into chaos. Eva sighed as she rubbed her eyes gingerly. Poor Cullen… What she said to him before charging into the lake. Throwing his special gift back at him as if was absolutely nothing. It once was something to her, but now instead of the peaceful company of the Commander; it is now fearful and tense. He watched her like a bomb that was moments away from ticking. It all happened after her magic peaked. "At least I am not dead…" She mumbled to herself as she ran a free hand through her hair. She could feel Solas's mana flowing through her veins. All she could remember was landing on something sharp. What condition was Cullen in? Had anyone tended to his wounds as well? All questions that couldn't be answered when her body laid unconscious.
Cautiously Leliana opened the door to Eva's cabin. It was no surprise that Solas was at her bedside, still flowing what mana he had left to help quicken the healing process. Gingerly she stepped with cat like reflexes around the potent lyrium bottles. He has not rested since her fall. Analyzing the scene, she could tell Solas was beyond exhausted but continually refused the help from other healers. "Solas." She spoke gently and he immediately held up his hand while shaking his head. "Solas, you must rest yourself or you will completely deplete your energy and end up right next to Eva." She heard a grunt of frustration, followed by a long sigh. She watched him as he took his hands off their Herald. Slowly he rose from the wooden chair, feeling every ache in his bones from sitting in such a position for hours on end.
"I will continue to stay with her until her eyes are open. I do not need the aid of others." Solas said firmly. "They are not nearly experienced to handle this type of damage…" Solas slowly stepped aside and gestured his hand to Eva. "Do you see how deep these wounds are? If they aren't properly sealed, stich by stich, she could very well die." Those words made her eyes widen as she looked down to the elf. She had blotted bruises along her face, arms, and from what else she could see, her side. Her clothes were still stained with blood, some of her own and some of the demons. "I will send for a giver to wash her up gently, you can monitor them as you please. She needs to be rid of those rags… As do you, Solas."
He looked down to his clothes and hands. Every inch of his hands and even some on his upper his arms; he was covered in blood. Even his clothing had been immersed by it. Since he got her in here to safety, his main goal was keeping her alive and tending to the internal damage she had. If Compassion hadn't aided him earlier, not even he would be able to save her. He cleared his throat and looked at the Spy Master. "What is the Commander's condition?" The question took her by surprises. So rare for that to happen nowadays. "He will live. In and out of consciousness and running a fever. He is mumbling Eva's name in his sleep. I believe he wishes to reconcile what was broken."
Solas scoffed, his head turning to Eva. "That will not be as easy as he thinks. She is-" Leliana raised up her hand and Solas ceased talking. "I know the situation, Solas… Cassandra updated me of what happened. But you must give her a chance to accept forgiveness, especially for a mage that just came into her own."
Solas said nothing but his eyes never left Eva. The Commander did damage emotionally, and it would not be easy for her, especially if he is part of her training. If he is there, watching her every move for one slip up he would not hesitate to subdue her. "I remember while traveling with the Hero of Ferelden. A kind mage was one of our companions… She told us a story of her experiencing her magic for the first time. Lit a boys head on fire, intentionally." Leliana smirked just a bit, Wynne had always told it better. Solas tore his gaze from Eva and looked to Leliana.
"Please send in someone to help clean her up. I wish for you to stand in my place and once they are done, come find me at my cabin." He began to make his way to the door but not before placing a hand on Leliana's shoulder. "Take care of her, alright? I believe I will clean myself up as well." Leliana nodded as Solas walked past her and as he did so, his smile immediately faded.
