Natsu was furious. He's never been so angry in his life and he's been angry plenty of times in the years of living with his cousins or attending balls or meeting suitors or dealing with his stupid family which he means to say he fucking hates. He despises his male cousins (mainly Sting, Gajeel, and Laxus ) but he now just downright wants to kill Gajeel. He wants to throw him in jail, torture him till he begs for mercy, and then murder him in front of everyone.

Vile, it sounded, but what Gajeel did was unforgivable. Terrible. He's never been disrespected in his entire life.

"Are you fucking crazy?!" Natsu screamed at the Prince who just stood in silence as the Knights held back the pink-haired Prince who thrashed and jerked. "I'm going to murder you! You incompetent fool, I will throw you into jail and let the dogs eat you alive! Throw you out into the streets and pull your piercings out one by one!"

Yawning as if he was disinterested and bored, Natsu felt even angrier as the other royalty came rushing into the room.

"What is going on?" Sting was first to ask as they looked at the scene of Natsu and Gajeel.

"Prince Gajeel has banished a commoner and Prince Natsu does not agree." A butler informed the royalty making them all look in surprise.

"Banish a commoner?" Sting echoed till he realized who. "Lucy," he gasped as he walked towards the two. "you banished a commoner?!"

"Not just any commoner, he banished Lucy for no fucking reason!" Natsu glared at Gajeel in fury. "You have no reason to banish a citizen from Fiore! This is my kingdom, I banish you!"

"You fool," Laxus spoke up this time, his arms crossed against his chest. "you can't banish your own kind. Especially Gajeel who is your cousin," the blonde yawned. "who cares, anyways? Why are you making such a huge deal about this?"

"Maybe Natsu-San is trying to protect his citizens," Wendy tried to say but the others didn't agree leaving her to stand there in silence once more.

"Gajeel, why did you banish this commoner so we can just go to sleep," Cobra said, a tired look mirroring his face as he was woken up from his slumber.

It wasn't every day that Prince Natsu made a riot in his kingdom, especially against a commoner.

"Because Gajeel is a selfish bastard who doesn't think for anyone but himself!"

"I did this thinking of you, you dimwit!"

"If you were thinking of me you wouldn't have put Lucy in exile!"

"Lucy?" Laxus echoed. "That blonde chick from couple weeks back? Natsu's Lucy?"

"Natsu is right," Sting stood beside the Prince to yell at Gajeel. "you've got no right to banish Lucy from Fiore!"

"I don't need you help, you fucker!" Natsu jerked towards the blonde who flinched and backed away. "You were against me, too, couple of hours ago and now all of you are!"

"What is going on here?!" A new and deep voice joined into the conversation leading all heads to turn and look at the newcomer.

Dressed in his silk red pajamas, King Igneel Dragneel emerged from his chambers after hearing the commotion from everyone. He had the look of anger and worry flashed across his face and he immediately looked at his son who also had the same expression.

"What is all this about?! Do you all not realize that it is one in the morning and people are asleep?! Do you not have any manners at all?!"

"Your Royal Grace," Happy bowed towards the king. "I deeply apologize, please refrain from screaming and you may return to your chambers in peace. I will take care of this."

"Well obviously you couldn't have since im down here," he snapped. "what is going on?" He looked at all the boys who were glaring at each other or looking away. Wendy was the only one who looked like she was about to start crying, soon making his expression harden. "Is anybody going to answer me?!"

"Gajeel banished a commoner!" Sting spoke up, pointing at the Gajeel who just stood his ground in silence. "And Natsu is angry that he banished her without a reason!"

"Why is your face so beat up, boy?" Igneel scrunched his face up to look Sting who lowered his head in shame. "You, too, Natsu," he let out a sigh. "what is this fight about? Can we not speak about this in the morning?"

"No," Natsu's voice was hard making Igneel look at his son. "I need to know now and I need this banishment lifted." His voice sounded as if it was going to crack as he looked up at Gajeel once more, his bangs covering his eyes. "Tell me," he said. "why?"

"Natsu," Igneel spoke up before Gajeel. "why does this concern you? It is just a commoner—"

"No," he shook his head. "she is not just a commoner." He looked at Gajeel's straight face. "Tell me!" He shouted, his voice echoing through the large room making the Steel Prince smirk and the ones in the room jump.

"Because I wanted to, I didn't like her."

Clenching his hands into fists, Natsu felt fire run through his veins.

"I felt like she was a disgrace in this kingdom. She acted like a country bumpkin, treated us as if we were her friends, and most importantly, she's annoying. She has no ground to be around us and therefore I banish her sorry ass."

Hushed silence slipped through the crowd making everyone exchange uneasy glances with each other, waiting for an outburst from the Prince of Fiore but he silently stood his ground.

"If this is—" Igneel spoke up but stopped when Natsu suddenly jerked and threw a hard vicious punch right at Gajeel who was caught by surprise.

He flew back and fell to his bottom making everyone rush to his side, trying to see if he was alright.

"Natsu—"

"From today forth," Natsu glared down at Gajeel. "I, Prince Natsu Dragneel of Fiore, step down as Prince and put myself in exile."

"What?!" The entire room exploded in commotion as the Royal members started to gawk and look around.

"Y—You can't do that!" Happy shouted as he came over to his Prince, his eyes wide. "Prince Natsu—!"

"Yes, I can," he threw Happy a hard look as he turned around to face his family and workers. "it was a pleasure to have you all by my side but I am no longer Prince,"

"Natsu," Igneel's voice was hard. "what do you think you're doing?!"

"I am stepping down, father." Natsu turned to look at his angered and baffled father. "Goodnight." He started to walk away making everyone look at each other, wondering what they should do or react to this situation.

Even the King was so baffled that he could only watch his only heir leave the kingdom, just throwing away the throne as if it was just some kind of toy. He didn't raise his son like this but he did raise his son to do what he felt like was right for the ones he loved.

And one thing he knew about Natsu's decisions was that they always end up right.

A commoner?

Igneel was definitely fired up.

"You what?! Are you crazy?!" Lucy shouted in the midst of the night, the blonde watching as the Prince just laid in her bed with his arm covering his eyes. "You can't just step down from the throne because of me! So what if I'm banished, this has nothing to do with you! It's probably for the best, anyways!" Her voice got louder and louder as the Prince just laid there in silence. "Are you even listening?! Natsu!"

She watched the male who just silently laid there making her grow angrier.

"Natsu Dragneel, I demand you listen to me!"

"I'm listening."

"Then why aren't you saying or doing anything?!"

"What do you want me to do?!" Natsu suddenly say up startling the blonde as the Prince looked so stressed out. "What do you want me to do, Lucy?"

"G—go back to the kingdom and take back your spot as King?!"

"And let you go?"

"I have nothing to do with your decision on becoming future ruler of Fiore. I am just a commoner who is now banished and—"

"The love of my life," he finished for her, his voice cracking slightly as Lucy's eyes widened. "you're the love of my fucking life." He said, his eyes full of sorrow. "That's why," he looked up at her. "I'm going with you. That is why I gave up my position so we can be together." He stood up to tower over the blonde, his rough hands being gently placed on her shoulders. "We can leave the country and live somewhere together and have many children. We can get away from here and start our lives," he said making Lucy watch him. "and we can't do that if one of us is here and the other is who knows where. We have to be together for this and I choose you." He brushed his knuckles against her cheek making Lucy's gaze cast down. "So, please," he whispered. "let me."

"I—I can't," she pulled away from his grasp making Natsu watch her walk away from him as she held herself. "this is too much. This is my fault, I can't let you do this."

"This isn't your fault, it was my choice—"

"Because of me!" Her eyes were wide with fear. "If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have to sneak around to see me, you wouldn't have to step down from the throne, and you definitely don't have to leave your own country!"

"Lucy—"

"No, Natsu, I don't need you to step up for me. I need you to do what is right."

"What's right is me and you!" He raised his voice, stepping forward. "I don't care about the throne! I care about you! About us! And even if I have to step down and banish myself, I'll do it with pride because I love you and you only. My life wouldn't be the same without you," he approached her once more. "can't you see that?" He whispered, the blonde watching him with hesitation. "I love you... do you love me?"

Staring up into the eyes of her lover, Lucy felt her eyes become all hot and water as tears spilled from her perfect brown eyes.

"I love you," she nodded as she pressed herself against his chest. "alright, let's do this." She took in a deep breath to look up at Natsu who looked back down at her. "What do I need? What should I bring?"

"Spare clothes, nothing more. We won't go far, maybe a town or two away. We can live in the woods, I have this secret place nobody knows about but me. We can live there," he brushed a strain of hair behind her ear. "don't worry," he said as he noticed the look of fear in her eyes. "I promise I won't let anything happen to you."

"I trust you," Lucy nodded as Natsu leaned in to press a kiss against her forehead. "let's go."

With the reassurance of her lover, the couple rushed to get their things packed and ready to get out of town as they believed in themselves.

It was very late and Igneel knew that he shouldn't be awake at this hour but after his son just walked out on him and the entire kingdom going into frenzy trying to figure out where Prince Natsu went, he couldn't bare to sleep. This entire situation made him curious, as well, as he never believed his own son would step down from royalty and banish himself for a commoner.

Igneel learned that his son has been meeting this woman for a while, now, and she has been to the Royal kingdom several times as well. She was not news to the other royalty but to him, she was news.

Sitting in his library where he has stacks of books sitting on his desk, Igneel had several books open.

That last name, Heartfillia, sounded familiar to him. Very familiar and he couldn't quiet put his finger on it as he wonders if he heard it from a neighbor or it was in a story or it was somebody he once knew. But his dead son fell in love with this Lucy Heartfillia gal and she was important to him so he was curious to find out. He was fired up and he swears that he was going to find where he saw or heard of Heartfillia and find his idiotic son.

Grabbing a thick book, Igneel opened the cover to look at the history of royals as he wonders if it could be in here. It could all be bullshit as it was rare for a commoner to become royalty. He doesn't think there ever been an instance where that happened as the traditional way of marriage is royalty and royalty.

Flipping to the H section, Igneel's dark eyes scanned through the page through the Hans to the Harks when he finally handed in the Hearts where he read where the page lead to them.

He frantically flipped through the pages till he came to the official page of the Heartfillia's where his eyes widen.

It was an old painting of a couple in their mid-thirties with a very small infant in their arms.

It says that they ruled the kingdom back then but the mother passed away quick and a few years later the father was assassinated by an unknown figure. Their daughter was unknown to be found as she was lost and forgotten and that is when the Dragneel's have gone into power.

Igneel, now realized, that the one Natsu fell in love with was not just a mere commoner, she was the lost forgotten Princess.

Standing up in his seat, the red-haired King pulled his glasses off as he shouted for his people.

"I want the entire kingdom to look for Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfillia, this instant! I need them both in my kingdom, immediately and alive!"

notes: everyone was like "oh make Lucy like a forgotten royalty and it'll be perfect" & all i could think was "how do my fans always do this. they always think ahead of me & plan my stories out" so yes, here is what most of you have been waiting (& hoping) for.
