Kobol, Early morning.
With the moonlight still filtering through the trees, and with the hundreds of vampires that were coming up from behind them, Angel and the others moved as fast as they could towards Willow and her team. The ensouled Vampire walked alongside Jon and Colonel Dixon, who was curious about the man since he was his first vampire. While he was getting his questions answered, as was Satterfield and the rest, the Colonials and Cylons believed that the Earthers were insane to have a monster among them.
"This is crazy," whispered one of the Number Threes while she glanced at Angel, and then at her fellow Cylons while the Colonials murmured in agreement, "it. It's a monster and these people are following it as if there is no problem."
"And these Earthers are our only way back," said a middle-aged woman as she glanced at Angel, and then at the young woman she was carrying, "and did you see what the girl did?"
"I've never seen that before." That was some of the whispers that were being spread around the Colonials and Cylons, including some who were saying that Dawn and Angel were illegal experiments. However, there were those who reminded the others, both Cylon and humans that Dawn and Angel were instrumental in saving them, and that they needed to be grateful. It was one of eh Number sixes, and one of the scientists from the Colonial delegation who spoke up, resulting in some uncomfortable looks form the others.
"I was once a monster," said Angel as he looked over his shoulder at the Colonials and Cylons while they continued their trek. He had already asked Colonel Dixon if it was alright if he told everyone about who he was so that they could ease up just a little bit. The Colonel then nodded his head, while Colonel Ferretti said that Dawn had already told them his story, but he felt it would be good to hear from the source. Angel then asked Satterfield to translate for the Earthers, while he spoke in Greek, "I am not as old as the vampires here; these ones I can guess are at least a thousand years old given how strong they were… and how hungry. I am only two hundred years old, and when I became a vampire the first time… I was instrumental in killing thousands of people."
"How many?" asked a Number Three.
"I can't tell," said Angel as he looked straight ahead while he remembered, with a shudder, what he, Drusilla, Spike, and Darla used to do when they were together. He shuddered at the screams of the people he murdered, "but it was thousands upon thousands. I read a report from a friend of mine that the Colonies had this television program called 'The Protector'."
"Yes," said one of the archaeologists from New Kobol while nodding his head, "my son loved that program, he thought that the lead character was very beautiful. But.. but he's gone now and… wait… are you saying that the legends are true?"
I'll let you decide," said Angel as they moved onwards. Angel told them about the night he died, and then rose again as a vampire. He told them about the deaths he caused with Darla, and then with Drusilla, and Spike. He could sense their fear growing as he continued tell them stories about what he had done as Angelus, the killer with the angelic face. It was about forty-five minutes later, that Angel's voice became more sombre when he talked about the gypsy he had killed, "she was her tribe's favourite daughter. And as their vengeance, they cursed me by restoring my soul."
"Impossible," said a few of the Colonials while the Cylons looked on amazed. The Cylons looked at each other while whispering among themselves while the Colonials said that once someone is dead, they are dead. A few of the Colonials did admit that perhaps Angel really was simply a demon in a human body, just like the legends had claimed, but they drew the line at someone who was not a god restoring a living soul.
Ignoring the concerns of the Colonials, the Cylons had suddenly gotten curious and asked how it was possible that he regained his soul. One of the Number Two's mentioned that Angel seemed almost saddened by having a soul, since he had referred to it as a curse.
"When I was a monster," said Angel as he looked over his shoulder while they continued walking, and Satterfield continued translation for the silent Earthers, "I had no feelings, well.. I did, in a way. I loved the kill. I enjoyed the fact that I killed whoever I wanted, I did whatever I wanted. I pillaged, I raped, I destroyed things that would make.. make you want to die a thousand times over. When I was cursed with my soul, all of those feelings came at me. I remembered every scream, every death. I weighs on my mind even now… it's something that I cannot forget."
"So every…" asked Jon as Angel nodded his head.
"Everything," whispered Angel before he looked at Jon, "I see their faces every day. Their screams tearing in my mind, and I keep on apologizing. That's all I can do. I'm still working on redemption, I can't escape what I did.. and I won't even try. All I can do is help as many people as I can. All I can do is protect them from harm."
As Angel looked back at Dawn while continuing to walk through the brush, Satterfield had translated everything he had told the Colonials and Cylons; leading to even more questions.
"Have you ever lost your soul, I mean after regaining it?" asked one of the Colonials. It was a question that made Angel stop, as did the others.
It was just them that the subspace radio's went off again, with Willow's voice saying that she could see them.
"We're maybe twenty minutes away, sirs," said Willow with a smile as Buffy ran past her.
While Willow chuckled before following the blonde Slayer, the others jogged behind them. Angel then turned and said that he did lose his soul once again.
"I became the monster Angelus," said Angel with embarrassment and regret in his voice while the Colonials murmured, and the Cylons looked on, unable to make a decision on Angel either way. In the meantime, they just listened, "I killed people, I hurt my friends, their friends, I murdered the love a close ally's life. I did things that… that should never have been done to the people who loved and cared about me."
"But you have your soul now," said one of the Cylons.
Angel nodded his head before saying, "yes, but before I got it back again, I tried, and succeeded, in opening a gateway to Hell. It would have sucked Earth into Hell, dooming every living thing."
Angel could see that the Colonials, Cylons, and Colonel Dixon was about to say something, but the ensouled vampire pre-empted them by continuing, "At the last moment, my soul was restored by a dear friend of mine. She is the only person on Earth to successfully restore a human soul. And the person I once loved, the person I hurt the most, was the one who stabbed me."
"After you got back your soul?" asked a Colonial archaeologist.
"There was no choice," said Angel, "my blood opened the doorway, so I had to be cut down and sent to hell so that the gateway could be shut down. And a few months later, by a miracle, I was sent back to Earth. And later, to prevent me from losing my soul again, another dear friend of mine bound my soul to the soul of the woman I love. I can never lose it again."
"That is actually romantic," said a Number Six, "not the death part, but the binding of a soul."
Angel just nodded his head before he looked down upon seeing Dawn stirring. The young woman rubbed her forehead, and groaned before opening her eyes and looking at Angel. Giving off a half smile, Dawn thanked Angel before asking him if everyone was safe.
"Yea," said Colonel Ferretti, with Colonel Dixon standing next to him, "interesting stuff you did back there."
"I've been practising," whispered Dawn before she asked Angel to put her down, that she was able to walk. Nodding his head, Dawn felt herself being lowered feet first onto the ground while the Cylons and Colonials behind them were abuzz with whispers at Dawn who was holding onto Angel and Jon's shoulders as she steadied herself. Dawn told them, in English after asking Satterfield not to translate, that she knew that since her body was still technically that of an Ancient, there was the possibility that she could wield her powers if she concentrated.
"Neat," replied Colonel Dixon as Dawn nodded her head at the man. One of the Colonials then asked Dawn what she had said to the others, and if she could translate; but the reply from the young brunette was that it was classified.
"Are there many people like you?" asked a Number Eight.
"A few," replied Dawn as she looked at the Satterfield look-a-like, "but right now, we need to keep on moving."
The group, with Dawn holding onto Jon, then started moving once again only to encounter a beaming Buffy and Willow fifteen minutes later. The blonde Slayer cried out as she hugged Dawn tightly, while Willow ran up behind her and then smiled at the two of them. She then gently squeezed Angel's arm and nodded her head with a smile on her face before turning to the two Colonels.
"Sirs," said the redhead nodding her head, "I take it the trip's been going good so far?"
"Oh yeah." Colonel Ferretti sarcastically told Willow that he loved being chased by ancient vampires through the forest, "really exciting, Major. And I hope to do it again sometime."
"Yes, sir," chuckled Willow before turning to Dawn, who was still holding onto Buffy. She patted Dawn's shoulder while she was still holding on to Buffy, while Colonel Dixon told Willow about how Dawn pretty much saved them all thanks to her shield.
"Shield?" asked Willow while Buffy looked into Dawn's eyes.
"I was kinda practicing," whispered Dawn as she looked at Buffy, and then at Willow, "I wanted to see if I still had my Ancient powers and… well… I do."
Willow was slightly confused about why Dawn hadn't told her about this earlier, or why Dawn hadn't asked her for advice. But all of that was pushed to the back of her mind by the fact that Dawn was safe, and she was able to use her abilities to protect her people. The redhead just took a few steps forward before kissing Dawn on her cheeks, and whispering 'congratulations' while Buffy hugged Angel.
It was when Buffy stepped back from Angel did she finally get to take a look at the nervous, and some excited and confused, looks on the faces of the Colonials and the Cylons. Buffy gave them a slight wave while mentally taking note that the Cylons looked human… to her it was obvious who the Cylons were given that there were multiple copies of the same models, except for Satterfield who was wearing the SGC BDU's. She then glanced over at the Colonials, and couldn't believe that this was her first encounter with humans from another world.
'No it's not,' thought Buffy to herself before she nodded her head at the two Colonels, 'I've met Teal'c at the SGC, some of the Potentials who knew about the SGC before the big reveal have already trained with the Sodan, but this is my first time off-world… with humans from another world. And human cyborgs too… this is so cool. Okay Summers, don't show how excited you are… umm… Oh God, I hope Xander doesn't do his jumping around bit.'
Willow chuckled at Buffy's loud thoughts before she patted her shoulder, and asked her to think quietly. Buffy gave off a small smile before the two Colonels motioned at everyone to move out. Soon enough, the group met up with Faith and the others. While Dawn as being hugged by Xander, the Colonials and some of the Cylons suddenly felt foolish when they earlier thought that Angel and Dawn were a danger to them. They were surprised by the comradery between the Earthers, with the Colonials and the Cylons also taking note of the number of young women with what seemed to be bladed weapons and crossbows with the secondary group.
One of the Cylons wanted to ask a question, but thought better of it.. at least until they were out of danger.
"Listen up," said Colonel Ferretti before introducing himself and then Colonel Dixon, to the newcomers. The man took a quick look around at what the people in the new group were wearing in terms of weapons, and then he and Colonel Dixon had a quick conference with Willow before looking back at the group, "as you know, we're being chased by hundreds of vampires from our six. We need to double time it to the cave, and use the Stargate to get out of here. There is no way to know how long it would take, so just to be on the safe side, we will gate directly to New Kobol."
"Satterfield," said Colonel Dixon, "I don't want you to translate this. But if we have no choice, we will head directly for New Kobol. Otherwise we will head for our Buffer planet, and then from there we'll send these guys on their merry way. If they ask about the plan, just let them know that they'll be sent home."
"Understood, sir," said Satterfield.
"Major?" said Colonel Ferretti before nodding at Willow.
"Flame units flank the group," yelled Willow as she pointed at either side of her, "Faith, Kara, Xander, take up the rear. We'll be having the greatest danger coming from there… which is where I'll be joining you. Buffy, and the other Slayers and Potentials, keep your crossbows armed."
"running?" asked Buffy.
"As fast as possible," replied Willow while Satterfield and dawn translated for the Cylons and Colonials, "stay as tight as possible, and watch each other's backs. Colonels?"
"Everyone, head out," yelled Colonel Ferretti as everyone took up positions while Willow patted dawn on her shoulder, and gently squeezed Buffy's arm.. telling the blonde to be careful. Buffy nodded her head, but not before telling Willow to watch herself.
"I will," whispered the redhead before she patted Buffy's shoulder, and walked past her to the rear of the group. There, she smiled at Xander, before she wrapped her arm around Faith's waist. The both of them then, in the surrounding darkness, started to walk with the rest of the group towards the Stargate with Hailey notifying Major Neely of what was happening.
Kobol, four hours later.
Apollo could still smell the scent of the humans in the air. He looked up at the sky, and instinctively knew that he didn't have much time left before the sun would rise over the horizon. Running faster than he had ever done in his life, the Colonial officer climbed a tree and then leapt from one trunk to another as a great rate of speed. He could smell the odours of the horde that was heading for the group of humans in front of him, the humans that he was only an hour away from intercepting.
Stopping as his arms wrapped around a thick tree trunk, Apollo looked behind him with his yellow eyes, and vampires senses to note that the horde was gaining much fast than he thought possible. With a smirk on his lips, Apollo went back on his way towards the humans.
He was going to get off this mudball, 'And then… and then I am going to have some fun. I know who I'll be feeding on when I get back to New Kobol with a mysterious new sickness that would make me avoid the sun, but I can't help but also wonder what Winnie would taste like.'
Licking his lips before hitting the ground, rolling forward, and then taking off once again, Apollo thought about heading back to New Kobol, and then asking Dr. Burke back to his quarters for some ambrosia that they had brought down from the Galactica. He imagined closing the door behind him, and then both he and Dr. Burke taking a sip of the yellow liquid, 'I'll then kiss you, Winnie… and then I'll go in for the bite. Maybe I could turn you, and then I turn dad, Roslin, Starbuck, and then the Earthers. We go back to Earth and we have some fun. A new home for our blood-demon brood.'
"Yes," hissed Apollo as he jumped over an undergrowth covered tree trunk and continued running.
It was about an hour later, back with the group heading for the Stargate, Willow and Faith were walking behind the others. The two of them were holding onto each other, their fingers locked in each other's hands while they looked around. However, while one part of them was being careful in making sure that they wouldn't be surprised... another part of them were sitting on a cliff near General O'Neill's cabin. Their feet were handing off the edge, with the clear lake water below, as they looked out at the cabin in the distance. The both of them then looked at each other, and no words passed their lips before Willow placed her head on Faith's shoulder. The dark haired Slayer placed her hand on the string that held Willow's bikini top, and then it went up onto her shoulder.
"I thought we were gonna have some smoochies," pouted Willow while she looked at the cabin in the distance while the both of them swung their hanging legs. The redhead felt Faith's body trembling, and chuckled as her wife giggled before saying that they were still being cautious about the Kobolian vampires in the real world. Willow then lifted her head off Faith's shoulder, and looked at the woman's bright blue swimsuit; and then into her brown eyes as she caressed Willow's cheeks.
"And if we go at it now? Well, it won't be fun since we'll be distracted thanks to.. you know… trying to get away from the vampires that are chasing us.,"
"Aww, darn it," cried Willow before she pursed her lips, and Faith laughed.
Faith instead gave Willow a peck on her lips, before she looked into her eyes. They looked at each other for a few more seconds before the expression on Faith's face became serious. It was then that they found themselves back in the real world, and Willow's heart was racing thanks to her connection to Faith's worry when she whispered that she heard something behind them. The both of them turned around with Willow closing her eyes, and concentrating. The others were a few minutes away from them just as Willow opened her eyes wide in shock while gasping.
"Red?" asked Faith.
"Go, go, go," cried Willow as she and Faith ran towards the group, while motioning their arms forward, "run as fast as you can for the cave."
"Major?" cried one of the Colonels, Colonel Ferretti; while Colonel Dixon was ordering the flamethrowers to the back, while telling Dawn, Hailey, Satterfield, and Buffy to run to the cave which was supposed to be only fifteen minutes away. Colonel Ferretti stood next to Willow who was panting as she performed another remote viewing, telling the Colonel that the vampires were closer, and that they were using the trees as cover.
"Buffy!" yelled Willow as she looked behind Colonel Ferretti, "I need all the Solaris bombs you and your people have."
Buffy nodded her head as all the Slayers and Potentials took off their satchels, and handed them to Buffy. The blonde Slayer then made her way past the screaming Colonials and Cylons who were being led away by Dawn, Satterfield, and the others to the Stargate.
"Here," said Buffy as she took off her Scythe, and handed the satchels to Willow who then thanked her. The redhead, Colonel Ferretti, and then Faith stared at her and Kennedy who joined the blonde, followed by Rona and the other Slayers. They looked at the confused Willow and Colonel before saying that they were staying to fight.
"There's too many of the vampires," said Willow, "I saw at least a hundred coming towards us, and they're less than three hundred meters away. Buffy… I need you and the Slayers to go with the others to the Stargate. Please… you.."
"I'm not leaving you," said Buffy while the others looked on nervously. The Colonel shook his head before telling the Potential Slayers, who looked extremely frightened, to spaces themselves away by a few feet, and then burn the areas around them. He then pointed at Kara, and, and Faith, to fire their plasma repeaters into the trees… taking out as many as possible so that the vampires wouldn't have a place to hide. In the meantime, Buffy was holding onto Willow's hand and telling her that she wasn't leaving the redhead alone, "I.. I'm scared that…."
"I know what you're thinking," said Willow as she grabbed Buffy's shoulder, "but I'll be fine, Xander and the others will be fine and… and I'm still your best friend Buffy."
Buffy nodded her head as she imagined reaching the Stargate only for her to find out that Willow, Xander, Faith, and the others were overcome by the Kobolian vampires. It was this stray thought that Willow had seen, and was telling the blonde Slayer that it won't come to pass.
"Despite all that happened," said Willow as the flames from the flamethrowers were reflected on Buffy's face, "I'm still your best friend, and.. and you're still mine. We're coming back, Buff… but we need you to run."
"Will…"
"Run!" cried Willow, who nodded her head at Kennedy.
AS Kennedy pulled Buffy away, Willow turned to Colonel Ferretti and asked him to go, that she and the others would cover them.
"Go, sir," said Willow nodding at the Colonel. The redhead then looked at the satchels in her hand, and smiled.
Using her telekinesis, the redhead raised all of the spheres of glass into the air. Taking another look at the burning undergrowth caused by the flames and the plasma bursts, Willow then looked up at the spheres, and shattered the glass until the liquid was just floating in the air. The Colonel looked at the balls of liquid which then joined into several thin strands of, what looked like, wire.
"Solaris!" cried Willow as she shot the liquid strands, which had just turned red, high into the trees. With the surface burning, the top of the trees around them were the best place for the vampires to go. The strands flew through the trees, guided by Willow until they gave off a burst of brilliant light. An entire hundred and eighty degree space lit up in a brilliant white and yellow light.
"Sir," said Willow as she looked at the impressed Colonel Ferretti, "it's time to go."
"Everyone move out!" yelled the Colonel as the Potentials dropped their empty tanks and ran towards the group that had already vanished into the trees. They were followed by Xander and then Kara, who were in turn followed by Willow, the Colonel, and then Faith.
They needed to get to the cave.
Willow and the others ran as fast as possible, with Xander and Faith covering them with their plasma repeaters. Then they would take off to be replaced by Willow and Kara firing their energy blasts and plasma repeaters respectively. Hearing the sounds of growls in the distance from the burning trees and undergrowth, Willow frowned before she and Kara took off running again.
At the Stargate, it was Hailey and Satterfield who reached the alien device, followed by Colonel Dixon who told her to take out the laptop with the dialling program from his backpack. Getting the Naquada generator that was already brought to the planet by the previous team, Hailey reconnected the power source to the Stargate, and then connected the laptop into a panel at the base of the Gate. Booting up the computer as Angel ran in with the other Cylons and Colonials, the vampire ushering them inside as more streamed into the cave. The Colonel then made a judgement call and ordered Hailey to dial New Kobol.
"Everyone step back!" yelled Colonel Dixon, translated by Satterfield, as the chevron's lit up. The man knew that the Cylons wouldn't be able to know the address for New Kobol since they weren't using a DHD for them to look at the destination address. He also knew that the buffer planets wouldn't have enough people defending it to protect them in case the vampires went through with them as well. He had to choose between Earth, New Kobol, and Eden… and Earth was totally out of the question.
Mess Tent, New Kobol, 0600 hours.
Riley, Dr. Burke, Commander Adama, Roslin, and Racetrack were having coffee since they had woken up early. The stars were slowly fading away from the early morning sky, which meant that the sun would be coming up in an hour. The five of them were talking about the subject of Hope, the name that Sharon and Helo had given their daughter, with Roslin telling Dr. Burke that her people were still not will to have the child on New Kobol given that she was half-Cylon.
"The anger, and hate, is too raw," said Roslin, her Colonial Standard being translated to English because of the translator that Dr. Burke was wearing, before telling them about the last meeting with the Quorum after they had tried to postpone talking about it, "Hope and Sharon are going to be without a country."
"Or a planet," said Commander Adama.
"I understand he's asked for extended leave?" asked Dr. Burke with Commander Adama nodding his head before saying that they deserved some rest before they really continued the difficult mission of rebuilding their lives.
"We've already begun," said Roslin, "it'll be the first day of school for the children tomorrow, and we have our first meeting with the leaders of Argos."
"You'll like it there," smiled Riley just before his radio buzzed. Excusing himself as he took it out of his holster, the man brought the device to his lips as a panicked voice rang out.
"This SG-13 leader to New Kobol," shouted Colonel Dixon as Riley looked ahead to Dr. Burke, and then to his left at Commander Adama, "Code Red, I repeat, We have a code red. We need armed cover, Colonel Finn; plasma weapons… whatever you have."
Riley then ordered h is team to report to the armoury and grab the staff weapons that were meant for Earth officers only, and then report to the Stargate where Colonel Dixon told him that people, birth Colonials and Cylons were coming through. It was the word 'Cylons' that got the Commander and Roslin worried as they looked at each other, and then at Riley who continued talking on the radio. They then looked at Dr. Burke, and were about to demand an explanation when they jerked their heads at Riley, who looked at Dr. Burke with eyes wide open in fear and surprise.
"Can you repeat, sir?" asked Riley, his hands trembling.
"We're being chased by vampires!" yelled Colonel Dixon as Riley got jumped out of his chair and then ran out of the tent. He rushed past the medical building while his team were behind him carrying the staff weapons, and behind them were Commander Adama, Racetrack, and Roslin, who didn't believe what they had just heard. Getting closer to the Stargate, Riley saw that it was active, and that there were already numerous people huddled together on the grass near the pedestal. Both Colonials and Cylons were crying in relief while Satterfield, Jon, and Hailey were standing by the event horizon ushering more people through.
The Commander looked at the Colonials and Cylons who were huddled together, something he thought he would never see after what happened to the Colonies, and saw the look of fear in their eyes. He and the others then looked at a man in a black coat running through the event horizon, and straight to Riley. The Commander saw that the newcomer seemed to know him as he overheard them talking about everyone being a few minutes behind them.
Back on Kobol, Colonel Dixon had already contacted Major Neely, telling him that they were about to leave. And that he was sorry that he and his team were being left behind.
"We're not, sir," said the Major shaking his head, "we'll be home in a few hours."
"Stay safe," said the Colonel as Colonel Ferretti ran into the cave. The two Colonels ordered everyone through the Stargate as Buffy, Dawn, and Kennedy waited for the others. Once they had seen Kara and Xander rush into the cave shouting that 'they were coming up fast behind them', Buffy and the others were forced through the event horizon. Just before rushing through the blue puddle, Buffy looked over her shoulder and saw Willow rushing in with Faith.
"Go!" yelled Willow as she waved her arms forward before she started to head for the naquada generator. She knew that she was the last one through the cave, so when she heard another figure behind her panting, Willow turned around with the two Colonels and Faith after the cave had emptied to find Apollo looking at them while pointing at the cave entrance and shouting in Colonial Standard.
"He's saying that he's the only survivor!" yelled Faith as she grabbed the man's shoulder, and then pulled him to the Stargate and pushed him through. Willow raised an eyebrow at her wife, who just shrugged her shoulders and said that she knew a little Ancient Greek thanks to work on her Masters, "just hid it from you cause it wasn't a big deal."
Willow smirked at her wife before she rushed to the naquada generator while Faith asked if anyone knew why these vampires were moving much faster.
"Or at least they seem faster, or I could just be thinking that cause they're right on our tails," said Faith while Willow input a code on the generator's panel.
"They probably figured out that we're trying to get out of here," said Colonel Dixon.
"Gives them an incentive to come after us," Colonel Ferretti added while Colonel Dixon nodded his head.
"Faith, Sir's, go, once you get to the other side, make sure no one's in front of the event horizon… I don't know how much of the blast energy will get through," said Willow as she placed a shield around herself, Faith, the two Colonels and the Stargate. She told the others that she needed to wait until the last few seconds before leaving, "probably when the countdown reaches one second.. since the Vampires could do something to it. I mean, I guess the wont but why take the risk."
"But…" said Faith when they saw the vampires rush into the cave growling and gnawing as they hit Willow's shield, causing her to step back from the weight of the vampires, "Red?"
"Go," cried out Willow who shook her head and disconnected the laptop, and then rushed to Faith and handed it to her, "Sirs, I'll be right behind you… go!"
Colonels Dixon and Ferretti nodded their heads before they grabbed the surprised Faith who was suddenly pulled through the event horizon, while screaming to Willow that she had better get to New Kobol, "or else…."
Willow chuckled as she stepped back right at the edge of the event horizon, while putting her hand through the puddle so that it didn't shut down. She looked at the deformed faces of the growling vampires as they scratched at her telekinetic shield, with some of the vampires climbing the walls so that they could jump on top of the shield. Willow looked up at the growling faces, and then at the timer on the generator.
"Twenty seconds," said Willow as she looked back at the vampires, "so… how's your day been? Good? Meet new people? Learned new stuff?"
Willow stared at the vampires while they continued to growl at her. Shaking her head, the redhead looked back at the timer.
"Ten seconds," said Willow as she took a step back when the timer read 'five seconds'.
"And now I say, tata," said Willow as she jumped backwards and reached New Kobol, "get down!"
Willow dived off the pedestal, and hit the ground just as Angel and the others ordered everyone to the ground. It was then that the shield on the other side of the Stargate failed, and the vampires ran towards the open Stargate.
"One second," cried Willow just as the generator exploded, taking with it the vampires in the cave, as well as causing a cave-in that would seal the Stargate. Back on New Kobol, there was a surge of energy form the blast as the nearby trees were shaking thanks to a heavy gust of wind, followed by small rocks and stones that came through the Stargate, followed by the sound of a loud 'boom' that shook the trees and the bodies that were laying around on either side of the Stargate.
And then the Gate shut down, and Willow looked up.
She then sighed before rolling around and sitting up as Faith, who was on the other side of the Stargate, got up and then rushed to the redhead. Willow was pulled up by Faith, while Dawn was pulled up by Jon and Buffy. The Commander and Roslin slowly got up to their feet, and rushed towards Apollo with several questions running through their minds, as Colonial Marines, and other Earth officers ran towards them with doctors and nurses from the medical building. The redhead could hear cries of joy from the Colonials and Cylons who had been on Kobol, thankful for their safety.
It was finally over; all of them were safe. Willow and Faith went to hug Dawn, and then Buffy, glad that they were safe while Colonel Dixon and Ferretti were telling Riley and Dr. Burke a basic gist of what happened, before saying that everyone needed to get checked out.
"We'll send a report to the SGC in the meantime," said Colonel Ferretti, "and once they've been checked out, the Cylons will be sent back to Eden via a buffer planet."
"Understood, sir," said Riley while Apollo overheard them as he talked to Commander Adama, who was asking about the other Colonial teams.
"I'm guessing you'll be briefed soon, dad," said Apollo while he heard his father's heartbeat, and then the heartbeat of Roslin who was shaking his hand. He then saw Dr. Burke heading towards them, the woman asking Apollo if he was alright before telling Commander Adama that the Cylons were here simply because everyone needed to escape as soon as possible. IT was either New Kobol, or Eden.
"As long as they don't know our planet's address, they can leave," said the Commander, "but the President and I wold like to know what happened and why some of our people aren't here."
"We'll be briefing you in twenty minutes," said Dr. Burke as she nodded her head at Commander Adama. It was then that Apollo felt as if he was being watched, and he turned his head to the left and looked at the man in the black jacket, who had been making sure that the people around him were doing alright, looking back at him. He saw the man then turn around and head to the red-haired woman, who after a few seconds looked back at him with a look of fear on her face. Apollo concentrated, and heard her heart beating faster, as was the heart of the dark haired woman next to her.
'Does she know? Does he know?' thought Apollo to himself as he watched the redhead and the dark-haired young woman, followed by a blonde that the man from Earlier had also spoken to, walking towards him, 'oh well, I guess I have to do this the hard way.'
