Chapter 20: I Do
Roldy sighed as he leaned back against the wall outside the door of the honeymoon suite. He pressed his hands to his eyes for a moment. He was exhausted, yet at the same time excited. Everything he has been working on for the last year had all accumulated to this moment.
On the other side of the door, his husband was waiting for him. It was still hard to believe he was married. He lowered his hands and admired the silver band on his left hand. Noah had the matching ring. It showed the world how they felt for one another. It represented how happy Noah made him and vice versa. It was a sign of their undying love. Most importantly it showed the world that Noah had chosen him.
He had to admit, after everything that had happened over the last week, that he wasn't sure they would survive today. From his mom missing her flight to Matt ex-girlfriend, to fangirls breaking into their rooms, and so many other bad omens. It almost seemed like the universe was working against them. They had faced these challenges and come out stronger because of it. He had pushed all that aside and stood in front of all their family and friends and got married.
Roldy pushed himself off the wall. He dug in his pocket for his key card. He was ready to have his happily ever after with Noah.
14 hours earlier...
Roldy jolted awake as the door to his room was thrown open. He barely had time to register what was going on someone jumped on top of him. He grunted and shoved at the intruder.
"Ro! Time to get up! You're getting married today!" Jared shouted.
"Get off," Roldy said shoving his best friend. "Let me sleep."
"No way, you need to get your ass out of bed. We have so much to do today and so little time," Jared said as he sat up.
"Just a few more minutes?" Roldy covered his head with his pillow. He didn't want to leave his warm cozy bed.
"No can do Rolds, it is almost eight o'clock and we have to get moving and make sure everything is alright with the ballroom and the reception hall," Jared said.
"Fine, Fine, let me get dressed," Roldy groaned. He tossed the blanket aside.
Jared ran from the room promising him five minutes before he returned. Roldy quickly got gathered his things. He exited the room and headed to the bathroom telling Jared he was taking a shower. Jared told him to hurry that Kyle was making breakfast for them.
Roldy just waved him off. He set about taking a shower and getting ready for the day. Today was the big day. Nothing was going to stop him from getting married, not crazy ex-girlfriends, not insane fangirls. Nothing. Roldy was going to marry Noah today, and that was that.
He showered and got dressed. He had a few more things to do today. It was just finishing touches. By this evening he was going to have a husband. Nothing was going to stop him.
Roldy slipped into some jeans and a t-shirt. He was just going to meet Kelly for a quick walkthrough. He wanted to make sure that the reception hall was good. Everything had to be perfect for Noah. He knew how much this meant to him.
"Ro!" Jared called.
"Calm your tits, I'm coming," Roldy said exiting the bathroom.
"Come on, Kelly is sending me thinly veiled death threats. If I don't get you down there now there might not be a wedding," Jared joked.
"I'll come with, I'll get some nice shots of the table settings. Noah wants everything on camera. He wants to make like a whole montage," Miles said.
"Pass, I'll hang back," Kyle said his nose buried in his phone.
"Have it your way," Jared replied.
The three left Kyle alone in the suite. They reached the elevator as Penelope stepped off with her phone in her hand. She greeted them with a smile.
"Shouldn't you be with Noah?" Jared asked teasingly.
"On my way, I gotta get something from my room," Penelope replied. She continued down the hallway.
The guys piled into the elevator. They headed down to the ballroom. Kelly was barking orders and getting everything set up. She stopped once she saw the boys. Miles quickly started his filming of sweeping shots of the tables. They left him alone to work his magic.
"Kelly this is amazing," Roldy said as he looked around.
"I know, I'm amazing and you boys owe me like your first daughter should be named Kelly," Kelly replied.
"Deal," Roldy chuckled.
"Don't demand much do you, just the blood of the firstborn," Jared joked.
"Watch your sass, I'll kick you out of this wedding," Kelly threatened.
"I'm the best man," Jared replied.
"Kyle could take your place," Kelly said.
"I'd be fine with that," Roldy replied.
"Hurtful," Jared said grabbing at his heart. Roldy and kelly both laughed.
"All jokes aside, Kelly you really did amazing and I cannot say thank you enough for all the hard work you did getting this all together," Roldy said. Kelly smiled and gave him a hug.
"I'd do anything for my boys," she said.
"Excuse you, their my boys," Kendall said walking up to the group.
"Oh no mom and dad are fighting again," Jared said nudging Roldy.
Kendall laughed at that looking to Kelly. "That's what we used to say about you and Gustavo." He paused as he realized something. "Does that make me Gustavo in this situation?" It was Kelly's turn to laugh. "I don't like this anymore."
-Happy Mistakes-
Matt watched as Noah paced back and forth. Matt's mission today was to keep Noah in his room. They slept in late, both of them have been up late the night before. Noah had been freaked out by the intruders. Rafi had found two more girls in their room. It had been an eye-opening experience. It was something they had not expected to happen. Fangirls were crazy though.
Noah had been on edge ever since he woke up. Matt knew he was trying not to panic. They had had a crazy week so far. Everything from the photographer not being able to make it to crazy fangirls and even crazier ex-girlfriends. Thank god for Rafi, he had escorted Gabby out of the hotel telling her she was not a wedding guest and that she was on the no-fly list. There was no way she was getting into the wedding. It had put Matt's mind at ease a little bit. Now if only he could get Noah to calm down.
"Noah, relax," Matt said.
"I'm sorry I'm just nervous, like not I'm gonna run away nervous, but nervous about standing up in front of everybody and forgetting what to say and making a fool of myself," Noah said quickly.
He was going to marry Roldy today no matter what. Forget all the bad omens, this was happening. He didn't care what anyone else thought.
"You've performed in front of a thousand fans before," Matt pointed out.
"Yeah, for strangers, this is for family," Noah said slightly panicked.
The door opened. Matt turned as Penelope, Marney, Trini, and Jessie all walked in. They were laughing and giggling, carrying their dresses with them.
"Morning ladies," Matt greeted them.
"Hey Matty," Marney said running over to her brother and hugging him. "Mia is so excited to see her two uncles finally get married," she said looking to Noah.
"Me too, this is taking forever," Noah replied. Marney laughed.
"Oh Bambi, don't worry, it'll get here soon enough and then the time will fly by," Marney said.
"Bambi?" Penelope asked looking at Noah confused.
"Because he's got those precious doe eyes," Marney said, "he's a little Bambi."
"Oh my god, I can kind of see it," Penelope giggled.
"Thank you, Marney, you are now banished," Noah said glaring at her.
"You can't banish me, you love me too much," Marney replied walking up to the brunette and giving him a hug. Noah melted and hugged her back.
"You're on thin ice," Noah warned her.
"Yes Marn, do not upset the groom on his wedding day," Matt said.
"Trini, Jess, has-" Noah started as he turned to his sisters. They both gave him a glum look. He already had his question answered.
"Noah no, not today. If he can't get off his high horse than he's not worth it," Matt said shaking his head.
"But he's my dad Matt, who's gonna walk me down the aisle," Noah asked.
"Mom said-" Trini started.
"She's gotta sit with Rory," Noah said referring to his little brother. "I love her, but she's the only one who can calm his tantrums down."
"We will figure something out," Matt said.
"Oh my god, I'm not gonna have someone to walk me down the aisle. I can't do this," Noah said shaking his head.
"Noah," Matt said.
"All week everything has been going wrong, this is just another sign," Noah said shaking his head. He ran into his room.
Now he was panicked. Maybe now wasn't the right time to be doing this. Maybe they needed to postpone the wedding.
Matt moved to follow him. He sighed as he realized the door was locked. He turned to the girls. They all looked a bit panicked.
"Stay here, try and talk some sense into him, I've got an idea," Matt said turning to them.
"Where are you going?" Penelope asked.
"Just trust me," Matt said as he snatched his phone from the charger. He took off out of the room. He knew just who to get to walk Noah down the aisle.
-Happy Mistakes-
Kendall watched as Kelly barked orders. She had asked him for some help, but it became very clear that she only wanted to bark orders. He had since sat down at one of the tables letting her stuff. After a while, she joined him.
"How does it look? Do you think the boys are gonna like it?" Kelly asked.
"It looks great Kel, the boys are gonna love it," Kendall said, "now you need to relax, everything is fine."
"I know, I can't help it. I just want this to be perfect for the boys. This is going to be a day they will never forget. I want it to be a good day and stress-free for them," Kelly said.
"And it will be, you did an amazing job," Kendall said, "I've said it before and I'll say it again. You were a wedding planner in another life."
"Probably," Kelly chuckled.
"Kendall."
Kendall looked up as Matt approached him. Kendall gestured for him to sit.
"We have a problem, sort of," Matt said.
"What's wrong?" Kendall asked.
"Noah is freaking out because his dad hasn't shown up. None of us expected him to show up," Matt said.
"Why weren't we expecting him?" Kelly asked curiously.
"Both their dads used to work together. It's kind of how we all met Noah actually, but Harry got a promotion over Don and he wasn't happy. He accused Harry of backstabbing him. Things have been tense ever since. He wasn't happy when he heard that Noah and Roldy were dating and the engagement threw him over the edge. He left Cindy after that and has made contact with the kids," Matt explained.
"That's insane! Don't they have like six kids?" Kelly asked.
"Seven," Matt corrected her.
"What do you want me to do?" Kendall asked.
"You are the closest thing he has to a dad. Maybe you can talk some sense into him," Matt said.
"I can give it a shot," Kendall replied.
"That's all I ask. He's freaking out about not having his dad to walk him down the aisle and he refuses to let his mom. He says she's gotta take care of Rory," Matt said.
"Which one is he?" Kendall asked.
"The youngest, he's autistic," Matt replied.
"Right," Kendall said.
"Go on then, we need the boys ready by four," Kelly said.
Kendall followed Matt out of the ballroom. He was thankful to be away from Kelly and her barking orders, but he hoped she would relax soon. She deserved a break after this.
He followed Matt up to Noah's suite. The girls were all sitting around laughing. Penelope looked up as they entered the room.
"This is your big plan," Penelope asked.
"Watch your sass and let me work my magic," Kendall replied.
He walked over to the door to Noah's room. He knocked on the door and waited. He didn't expect to get an answer.
"Noah, open the door," Kendall said. He waited until he heard the lock click. He quickly entered the room shutting the door behind him. He locked it once more for privacy. "So Matt filled me in on some of the details."
"Was it stupid of me to think that he would come?" Noah asked looking up at Kendall. He could tell that Noah had been crying.
"No," Kendall replied as he walked over to the younger man. He sat down beside him. "My dad and I had a similar relationship. He wasn't around much and when he was it's like he wasn't really there. He ran when things got tough."
"Yeah, I can relate," Noah replied.
"Every time he came back I blindly let him back in only to get hurt again," Kendall said shaking his head. "It wasn't until after Jake and Adam were born that I realized I didn't need him in my life. I never let him have that power over me. I decided that if he didn't want to put that effort in then neither was I."
"Just like that?" Noah asked.
"No, I went back and forth and I'm not saying you should cut him out of your life, but to accept that maybe he's not always gonna be there," Kendall replied.
"But what am I gonna do? I've had this fantasy that my dad would give me away. Now what?" Noah asked.
"What about your mom?" Kendall asked.
"You don't understand. She's gotta be with Rory at all times. He freaks out when she's not around," Noah said, "She's got too much to do already. She basically told me to walk alone, which I'd rather not do, but like what other options do I have?" The panic in his voice was rising as he spoke.
"I could do it," Kendall said slowly putting a hand up to stop Noah's rambling.
The words came out before he even thought it through. He didn't need to think about it though. Noah was like a son to him. He would do it for any of the boys.
"What?" Noah asked.
"Noah I would be honored to step in and help you," Kendall said, "all four of you are like my sons at this point. I would do it for Matt ro Roldy too. Not Jared though, because at that point I hope to be giving away my son."
"Seriously?" Noah asked surprised.
Kendall nodded his head, "As long as your mom is ok with it."
"Thank you so much," Noah said throwing his arms around Kendall as the tears started coming.
"Of course Noah," Kendall replied. "I don't think you boys realize how much you've grown on me. You are more than just a band to me, you are family."
"Good, cause you ain't getting rid of us like ever," Noah said sitting back and wiping his tears.
"I don't plan on it," Kendall replied with a smile.
-Happy Mistakes-
Kyle rolled his eyes as Miles shoved his camera in his face. He shoved Miles back a few feet. "Seriously dude, I know Noah said catch everything, but come on. I need some space."
"Too bad," Miles laughed as he got up in his face again.
"Stop it," Kyle said shoving him again.
"Hey, fight nice you two."
The pair turned as Roldy emerged from his room. He was dressed in his suit. They both wolf-whistled at him.
"Looking snazzy Ro," Kyle said.
"Always," Roldy replied with a grin.
"Come on and get dressed, Jake texted me and he's ready for the before photoshoot," Roldy said as a knock at the door came. He answered it and Tim walked in already in his suit as well.
"Figures the kids aren't ready," Tim teased.
"It's his fault, he won't put the camera down," Kyle said, pointing a finger at Miles.
"Get dressed now, Jake is waiting," Jared said as he emerged from the bathroom.
"Is he always this bossy?" Miles asked as he set his camera down. He jumped up as Jared glared at him.
"Always, he likes to think that he wears the pants in this relationship," Kyle replied running into the bathroom ahead of Miles being sure to grab his suit. Miles followed after cracking another joke.
Kyle shut the door and the two started to change. Miles accidentally kicked the garbage can knocking it over.
"God you're such a klutz," Kyle said. They quickly tried cleaning up the mess. Miles paused as he saw a pregnancy test.
"What's that?" Miles asked.
"Seriously?" Kyle asked. He grabbed a tissue and picked it up. It was positive. "Who would need a pregnancy test here?"
"Noah was in the room last night. He was in the bathroom for a long time," Miles said quickly.
"Why would Noah take a pregnancy test in our room?" Kyle asked.
"Because he couldn't wait any longer. He was kind of forced here after those girls broke in here," Miles said.
"You think Noah is pregnant?" Kyle asked.
"Who else could it be?" Miles asked.
A knock at the door brought them from their musing. Jared called for them to hurry up. Kyle tossed the test away.
"We're almost done," Kyle hollered. "Not a word to anyone."
"Promise," Miles said.
"Swear on it," Kyle said.
Outside the room, Roldy shook his head at the pair. He didn't need this right now. He was getting married soon. He shouldn't have to babysit two teenagers.
"You put them both in your wedding," Tim told him.
"Yeah, because they are a package deal. You can't have Kyle without Miles. It's madness," Jared replied.
"Yeah you can't have one without the other," Roldy agreed, "besides Miles tends to grow on you after a while."
"Does he?" Tim asked.
"He comes on a bit strong but that's just Miles. You get used to it after a while," Roldy chuckled remembering the other night.
Miles had declared himself and Tim teammates for the game tournament because he wanted to see if he was any good. He had been in Tim's face all night cracking jokes and trying to make him laugh. It had been pretty funny.
"If you say so," Tim replied.
"Miles is an acquired taste," Kyle said waking out of the bedroom.
"Most people give a warning about me," Miles added as he followed Kyle.
"I was warned, a couple of times," Tim replied, "you're very odd."
"I know isn't it great?" Miles asked with a grin.
"Come on Jake is waiting. We don't have time to waste," Kyle said bringing them back to focus. He grabbed his jacket. "Why we need to go outside I'll never know."
"It's what Noah wants now let's go," Jared said grabbing his jacket as well.
"Right, let's go," Roldy agreed.
They all left the room together. They saw one of Ravi's team standing at the end of the hallway. He pulled out his phone, no doubt letting Rafi know they were coming down.
"They don't mess around do they?" Tim asked as they got into the elevator.
"No, not after last night," Kyle replied. "I bet Rafi is waiting for us."
The guys stepped off the elevator and walked out to the lobby. Rafi was waiting for them, to no one's surprise. He led the guys outside to the back patio of the hotel. Jake was there with his camera and talking with Penelope.
"We're here," Kyle announced.
"Shouldn't you be with Noah," Jared asked Penelope.
"I was just talking to Jake, I'm on my way now," Penelope replied.
She left and the guys quickly set about their pre-wedding photoshoot. Jake was going quickly since he was freezing and wanted to get back inside. Once they were done, they all headed inside. Matt was in the lobby, looking for someone. Once he saw the guys he walked over to them with a small sheepish smile.
"What's wrong?" Roldy asked.
"So uh, you haven't seen...Noah have you?" Matt asked slowly.
"No why?" Jared asked.
"Ok so don't freak out," Matt started.
"Saying that is only gonna make me freak out," Roldy replied.
"I-uh-I can't find Noah," Matt admitted.
"What?" Roldy asked.
"I don't know what happened. He got a phone call and said he was going to the room for privacy and he never returned. I went looking for him and he wasn't there. I went back to the ballroom and the girls haven't seen him. I am running out of options," Matt admitted.
"What? Who called?" Roldy asked.
"No idea, he bolted pretty quickly," Matt said.
"It was my dad."
The guys all whipped around. Noah was walking in the door. He looked unusually calm. The guys weren't sure what to say. They knew how awful his dad was being.
"He called and tried to talk me to my sense that I didn't want to marry into that backstabbing awful family," Noah said slowly. He looked down at the ground. He wasn't sure when things had gotten this bad between him and his dad. "He said if I went through with this, he was going to officially divorce mom."
"Noah," Roldy said.
"Mom already has the paperwork filled out and is going to file when she gets back," Noah replied with a small smile. "I was told today not to rely on others to make you happy. You gotta do what's right for you."
"And?" Roldy asked with a smile.
"I am going to marry you no matter what anyone else thinks. I don't need him in my life if he can't get past his own problems and see that I am truly happy right here with you," Noah said walking up to Roldy with a smile. "Now in two hours, I am getting married. You game Ro?"
"Of course, it was kind of my idea," Roldy said grinning.
"Well then I guess it's a date," Noah said leaning in and dealing their lips in a kiss.
"Hey, save it for later, we've got to go," Matt said interrupting the pair.
"Two hours," Noah said as he took a step back.
"I'll be there," Roldy replied.
-Happy Mistakes-
James looked himself over as he got ready for the wedding. He was happy for the boys. They had been waiting for this day for so long. He was also proud of Kendall for stepping up to help Noah in his time of need.
"Will you hurry up? You look fine," Kendall called from the other room.
"He's gotta make sure you can't see his grey hairs," Carlos called out.
"I wouldn't be talking Carlos," James said as he exited the bathroom. "I'm not the one who's greying."
"It's called aging gracefully," Carlos replied sticking his tongue out.
"Can it, you two," Logan said from across the room. He was sitting in a chair, waiting for them all to get ready, He was always the first one ready.
"Are you sure about this Kendall?" James asked walking up to his husband. "His mom doesn't mind?"
"No, she's fine with it. I would do it for any of those boys," Kendall said quickly, "they are all like family to me."
"Me too," James said nodding his head. He had gotten to know those boys pretty well.
"It's so odd. I remember the days when you forbid Kyle from seeing Jared," Logan mused.
"Oh my god, yes you two were so freaked about them dating," Carlos said.
"Me?" James asked, "Kendall was the one who went crazy. He was spying on Kyle and trying to catch him at every turn. If you think I'm the only neurotic one in this relationship, you should see him sometimes."
"Well, at the time I barely knew the boys. I was just trying to protect my son. What I knew of Jared at the time wasn't too good, but he is full of surprises," Kendall replied, "right now, I would happily take him as a son in law."
"That's if Kyle ever wants to get married, remember he's never getting married," Logan said laughing. The other three laughed as well.
-Happy Mistakes-
Noah smiled as he looked at the silver ring on his finger. The last few hours had been a blur. Everything had been perfect. The ceremony had been beautiful, but he hadn't been paying much attention. All his focus had been on Roldy. He had barely paid attention. All he could think about was how lucky he was to be marrying this man.
He had barely been able to contain himself as he waited for his turn to walk down the aisle. Kendall gave him another dad's speech and told him how honored he was to be doing this for him. Noah had thanked him again.
Then he as there, with Roldy. Standing before family and friends who supported them. They professed their love. There were jokes and there were tears. Noah had never been happier in his entire life. It had all happened so fast. Before he was even aware of what was happening, Roldy was kissing him and walking him back down the aisle. Everyone had stood up for them and happily cheered them on.
Roldy was currently taking pictures with Kyle, Jared, Tim, and Miles. They were all laughing and having a good time. The girls were standing off to the side huddled together for warmth.
"So, how does it feel to be Mr. Noah Harrison," Matt asked walking up to him.
"Amazing," Noah replied, "Everything was kind of a blur."
The two stood back a moment. Noah was so incredibly happy. Nothing could ruin this moment. He wanted this moment to last forever.
"Noah, Matty, you are being summoned," Kyle said walking over to the pair. Matt walked away, but Kyle stopped Noah. "I have a favor to ask of you."
"What?" Noah asked confused.
"Any rumors you hear about you, just confirm it. I'll explain everything later," Kyle said.
"What rumor?" Noah asked skeptically.
"Just trust me, Noah," Kyle said.
"You gotta give me more than that," Noah replied.
"Later, not around everyone. Now go be with your husband and take lovely pictures. This is your day," Kyle said letting go of Noah's arm.
Noah walked over to Roldy with a smile. Roldy greeted him with a kiss. Noah grinned once they parted.
"Hello to you too," Noah replied. Roldy pulled him close. They then posed for pictures with Jared and Matt. He smiled for the camera. He couldn't help but think about what Kyle had said. What rumors were going around about him?
The guys continued posing for pictures. Soon the champagne was brought out. Roldy and Noah turned to Jared. Jared had taught himself how to saber a champagne bottle a few years back to have a cool party trick to show people at parties.
"No," Jared said as a knife was brought out as well. "I haven't done it in forever."
"Come on Jared, you learned the trick to show off," Roldy said.
"Fine," Jared sighed, "but I'm gonna need people to clear out a bit and get out of the way," he said.
"I'll keep Miles out of your way," Kyle called as he grabbed his best friend.
"What are we doing," Miles asked.
"Nothing, just stay right here," Kyle said grabbing his arm.
"Jake, you get one chance at this," Jared called out.
"Ready when you are," Jake replied.
Jared got himself set up. Roldy, Noah, and Matt stood behind him waiting. Jared took a couple of practice swipes.
"Here we go." Jared swung the knife upwards and the top popped clean off and champagne flowed out. Everyone cheered. Penelope ran up with four glasses. The guys each took a glass and Jared filled them. The guys all raised a glass to Noah and Roldy. Jake was busy snapping pictures.
Once they were satisfied with the pictures they had taken, they all started to head inside. Noah fell to the back of the group. He was still thinking about what Kyle had said to him. Matt fell into step beside Noah.
"So is it true?" Matt asked.
"What's true?" Noah asked confused.
"That you are currently with child," matt replied quietly.
"What?" Noah asked. He then remembered what Kyle had said. HE was owed an explanation. "How did you find out?"
"Miles told me, I thought he was trying to pull a fast one over me," Matt said.
"Matty you can't tell anyone," Noah said quickly, "I'm waiting for the right moment."
"I won't tell anyone, but Miles is a blabbermouth," Matt said.
"I'll handle him," Noah replied. He looked ahead to Kyle who was laughing with Miles. They were shoving one another.
Once everyone was inside, Roldy pulled Noah aside, telling Matt that they would catch up. Noah smiled at Roldy.
"So we are married," Noah said grinning, "that means your my husband now."
"And you're mine," Roldy said, "No regrets? Especially about your dad?"
"None, if he can't see how happy I am, then fuck him," Noah said, "it's not like he was my biggest supporter anyways. I'm the middle child. I'm the forgotten one anyways. You make me happy. I regret nothing. The people who care about me are here. That's all that matters to me."
Roldy pulled Noah into a kiss. Noah sighed happily into the kiss. He could never tire of this. He could never get enough of Roldy. This day had been perfect. Not perfect in the traditional sense, but to him it was. He was now married to the man he loved.
The two took a moment longer to enjoy each other's company. They knew that once they entered the reception they weren't going to get a moment peace. They were soaking it all up while they had the chance.
