Chapter 33: Road Trip

Kyle sighed as he listened to Kendall and James remind him and Leora about safety while driving on the freeway. They were acting like Kyle had never driven before. Kendall had finally agreed to let them go to San Deigo to meet up with the guys. They were currently waiting for Miles so they could get on the road.

"Dad, pops we will be fine," Leora assured them. "I can handle these two and keep them on track."

"Yeah, Le is the voice of reason here," Kyle said as his phone started ringing. He pulled his phone out to see Jared was calling. "Oh look it's Jared calling to see if we are on the road yet."

"We will be fine," Leora said as Kyle answered his phone telling Jared they were being delayed.

"I know, but as your dad I have to worry. I will worry until you call me and tell me that you all made it in one piece," Kendall said.

"Yes and while you are there, stay together. I don't want you going anywhere alone," James said.

"Jared I gotta go, I'll have Miles text you once we are on the road," Kyle said as he hung up his phone. "Come on, we have to go if we wanna get there before tomorrow."

"Dad, I'll keep them out of trouble I swear. It's only for the weekend," Leora said, "and pops we will always use the buddy system."

"I'll keep them in line too."

Kyle and Leora turned as Jayda and Miles joined them. He arched a brow at Jayda confused. He wasn't sure why she was here.

"Miles invited me, I hope that's ok," Jayda said.

"Yeah, the more the merrier, and I could always use help keeping these two bozos in line," Leora said.

"Great, let's get this show on the road," Miles said, loading his bag into the car. Jayda did the same.

"Don't worry we will be fine," Leora said running up to Kendall. She gave him a hug and promised to call once they arrived.

"Come Le, we gotta go, Noah is getting impatient," Kyle said as he got into the car.

Leora gave James a quick hug as well before she ran over to the car. She slid in as Kyle started the car.

Soon they were on the highway jamming to music talking and laughing. They were a half hour away from their destination when they needed to gas up. Jayda and Leora ran to the bathroom together. Miles hung back with Kyle as they gassed up the car.

"Dude what am I gonna do?" Miles asked.

"What?" Kyle asked, confused.

"With Leora," Miles hissed. "She's been acting weird these last few days and I don't know what to do."

"She's not acting weird, she's flirting dude," Kyle laughed.

"See, this is why I'm not good at this. I don't understand flirting," Miles said.

Kyle just laughed as Miles panicked. "This is what you've wanted for awhile now."

"Yeah, but like that was before-" Miles stopped.

"Before what? Kyle asked.

"You know what," Miles said.

"She doesn't need to know, besides it's not like we were dating. Besides, isn't this what you wanted," Kyle asked.

"Well yeah, but like I never thought she would be interested. I thought that door closed when she told me she loved me like a brother," Miles said shaking his head.

"You just gotta relax. Do what comes natural. If she asked you out she must like something about you," Kyle laughed as the gas pump stopped.

"What if I don't live up to expectations? What if-"

"Miles relax, everything is going to be ok," Kyle said, cutting him off. "Just be you, you're more charming than you think."

"Gee thanks," Miles said as he climbed into the car.

Kyle quickly followed him, shooting Leora a text to bring them some snacks. He turned to face Miles.

"Relax the hard part is over. She asked you out, meaning she likes you already. All you have to do is be yourself. There is something there already. It's gonna be ok," Kyle said.

"Yeah, she asked me out," Miles said slowly, "except she wasn't interested until Lucas mentioned that I was kind of seeing someone. She hasn't stopped asking about it either. It's like she's not interested unless I'm with someone else. I mean look at how crazy she got when I was with Sara and then when we broke up she went back to normal." he said.

"Jealousy, it works every time," Kyle replied. He glanced up as Jayda and Leora exited the store. "Now be cool and stop freaking out."

The girls got back in the car tossing snacks at the boys. Kyle thanked them as he started driving. His phone started ringing. Miles snatched it from the center console and answered it for him.

"Hello, Wild Willy's Roadside Diner, you kill 'em, we grill 'em," Miles said. Laughter was heard from the other end.

"Hello Miles," Jared said once he sobered up.

"Don't mind him Jer, he was dropped on his head," Kyle chuckled.

"You're just jealous that I'm awesome," Miles shot back.

"How far out are you guys?" Jared asked.

"Less than half an hour, where are we meeting you guys," Kyle asked.

"Noah is sending you the address, are you stopping by the hotel first?" Jared asked.

"Yeah, we will meet you in like an hour," Leora said.

"She really means hour and a half," Kyle said.

"Shut up," Leora said, glaring at him.

"He's not wrong there princess, you take forever to get ready," Miles said ducking as Leora smacked him playfully.

"Ok, we will see you when you get here," Jared said laughing.

"Bye Jared," Kyle and Miles chorused together. Miles hung up and tossed the phone back into the cup holder where Kyle had set it earlier.

"Why do you gotta sell me out like that, I can get ready in an hour," Leora said. Kyle and Miles both started laughing.

-Happy Mistakes-

Layla quickly made her way up to her bedroom where Erika was waiting for her. They were getting a movie night set up for the two of them with Millie, who hadn't arrived yet. Layla entered her room and set the bog bowl of popcorn down on her desk. Erika was surfing through movies to watch.

"No Millie yet?" Erika asked, looking around for the other girl.

"Not yet, she's not one to miss a movie night," Layla said, digging her phone from her pocket. "Oh she texted me." she quickly read the message with a frown.

"What's wrong?" Erika asked, looking at her confused.

"She's grounded for missing curfew last night," Layla replied.

"So it's just the two of us?" Erika asked, walking up to Layla with a grin.

"It would appear so, dad and papa are still at work," Layla said, turning back to look at the TV, "did you pick out a movie?"

"Just the two of us alone," Erika said.

"Yeah, I'm thinking of comedy this time. Since Millie isn't here that means no twilight for once," Layla said as she started surfing movies.

"Just you and me here alone in this big empty house," Erika said a little louder.

"Yeah," Layla said as she looked through more movies. "How about that new Zombie Island movie. I hear it's supposed to be good."

"Oh my god you are dense," Erika sighed.

"What?" Layla asked, confused.

"Oh Lay, my naive little bunny," Erika chuckled as she grabbed the other latina's chin forcing her to look at her.

"Naive little bunny?" Layla asked with a frown.

"Do I have to spell it out for you?" Erika asked as she pulled her close.

Layla opened her mouth to protest, but Erika kissed her instead. She melted into the other girl's touch. Erika grinned as she led Layla over to the bed. She pushed Layla down onto the bed and climbed into her lap. Layla's hands anchored themselves on Erika's hips.

"So, you, me, this big empty house," Erika said slowly as she started to kiss along Layla's jaw. "Do you still just want to watch movies?"

"Maybe later, this is way more fun," Layla said tilting her head to the side.

"Good girl," Erika purred. She leaned in and gave a rough suck to the exposed skin there.

Erika nipped and sucked at her neck. Layla's hand travelled lower under Erika's short skirt. She was never more happy that Erika wore skimpy clothing than in this moment.

"Layla, you naughty girl," Erika gasped.

"I am what you made me," Layla replied, her hand slipped up her thigh.

"I like this assertive Layla," Erika said smiling.

Erika's hand travelled into Layla's shirt. She made quick work of opening her bra. Soon the offending item of clothing was thrown across the room. Erika sat back and looked down at Layla. Her hands traveled to the hem of her shirt. She looked up at Layla asking permission.

"Don't stop there," Layla replied.

Erika grinned as she slowly lifted the shirt revealing more and more skin as she went. Once the shirt was off, she pushed Layla down onto her back. She smiled as she looked her over. This was the first time Layla had let her do this. She couldn't help but marvel at the beauty before her.

"Stop," Layla said blushing. She moved to cover herself, but Erika stopped her.

"I'm sorry, don't be embarrassed, you're beautiful," Erika said, causing the other girl to blush more.

She let go of her hands and brought them to her breasts. She gently caressed them and smiled as Layla let out a little pleasured sigh. Erika leaned forward and took a nipple in her mouth. She gave a gentle suck and nip. She used her tongue to soothe over the bud. Layla gasped at the suddenness. She had not expected that. Erika lapped at her nipple before switching to the other. Layla gasped some more. It felt surprisingly good. She didn't want it to stop.

Suddenly she felt a hand in her panties. She hadn't even noticed Erika had opened her jeans or pulled them down. Erika sat up and looked at her.

"Why'd you stop?" Layla aske confused as she caught her breath.

"Is this ok?" Erika asked.

"More than ok," Layla replied. Erika grinned as she leaned up and sealed their lips together.

Layla gasped as Erika moved her fingers. She ran her fingers teasingly around her clit. Layla whined and bucked her hips. She wanted more. One look told her that Erika knew what she was doing.

"Erika if you don't-ah-"

Her threat was cut off as Erika pulled her panties down to her knees with her jeans. She started to rub Layla's clit with earnest. She watched as the other Latina panted and moaned. Layla felt her peak nearing. It wasn't long before her orgasm hit her like a ton of bricks. It was intense and like nothing she had ever felt before.

Sure she had touched herself in the past, but having someone else touch her and be in control of her pleasure. That was something new. It was amazing.

"How are you so good at that?" Layla asked breathlessly.

"I watch a lot of porn," Erika said her cheeks tinting pink now.

Layla's phone buzzed. Layla sat up and pushed Erika up off her. She glanced at her phone in panic. She knew what that was.

"Get in the bean bag chair," Layla commanded, jumping up and shoving Erika towards the chair. She grabbed her jeans and quickly wrestled them on as she dug her phone out.

"What's going on?" Erika asked, confused.

"Our front door camera went off, my dad is home," Layla said quietly. She slipped her shirt back on and pushed Erika down into the bean bag chair.

"Oh," Erika said.

Layla grabbed her controller and quickly picked a movie they had seen before and skipped fifteen minutes in. She tossed her bean bag chair besides Erika and sat down beside her cuddling her.

"Relax, he will never even know, they don't know that Lilly gave me access to the cameras," Layla said.

They turned their attention to the movie. A knock at the door came a minute later.

"Come in," Layla said as she paused the movie. She looked up as Logan entered the room. "Oh hey dad, I thought you were Millie."

"No it's just me, I've got pizza down stairs," Logan said eyeing her suspiciously. "Where is Millie?" he asked.

"Don't know, I will text her," Layla saidas she stood up.

"I want pizza," Erika said, jumping up. She ran from the room at top speed.

Logan followed her with Layla taking up the rear. They entered the kitchen where Erika was tearing into the pizza.

"Millie is grounded," Layla announced, "she missed curfew again." She waved her phone around.

Kendall smiled as he watched Jenny run around setting up her table with her stuffies. She was having a tea party with all her toys. James was currently making her juice for the party. Kendall was currently seated at the table greeting guests as they arrived and serving them the crackers James had given Jenny.

James returned with her plastic tea kettle filled with juice. Jenny jumped up making grabby hands.

"Welcome James, the tea party is almost ready," Kendall greeted his husband.

"Well it's a good thing I got the tea," James replied as he set the toy tea kettle down. He sat down next to Kendall as Jenny grabbed the kettle and held it out to Kendall.

"Tee." She said.

Kendall poured three cups and passed them to James and Jenny. He poured pretend cups for the rest of their guests.

They sat back chatting and laughing together. Things were comfortable. Jenny was currently babbling with her toys making sure they were eating and drinking too.

"No wonder you're not answering your phone. It seems you both have fallen and are unable to get up."

The pair looked up as Logan stood in the doorway with a smirk. Kendall shot him a glare.

"What do you want, we are busy. Jenny invited us to her tea party which is invite only," Kendall said.

Jenny seeing Logan jumped up and ran over to him. She reached for his hand, which he gave her. She led him to the table.

"Looks like I got an invite," Logan replied as he sat down. Jenny climbed into his lap.

"So what's up?" James asked.

"I just wanted to talk," Logan said looking down at Jenny.

"She's two and a half, she won't be spilling your secrets anytime soon," James said.

"I caught Layla and Erika alone and I'm sure they were...doing things," Logan said.

"What? Aren't they like 12?" Kendall asked.

"16," Logan corrected him, "but she's too young to be doing...things."

"Sex, Logan, just say it," Kendall said.

"Ok fine, sex, I will say I deserve an award for not yelling at her like I did the first time I caught Lilly and Kyle," Logan said looking away from the blonde.

"It gets less shocking as you go through each kid, and maybe you and Carlos need to talk to her before things get out of hand," Kendall said.

"How? She's just like Carlos. Every time I try to talk to her she puts her fingers in her ears and starts singing. Carlos refuses to acknowledge that they are even making out. Like I know things are happening, I just...I don't know what to do."

"Talk to her," James said, "and don't pull a Logan either. Listen to her and make her feel comfortable enough to come to you with her problems."

"I guess," Logan sighed.

"Are they alone right now?" Kendall asked confused.

"No Carlos is there and they are watching movies in the living room," Logan said.

"She's growing up Logan," Kendall said.

"I know," Logan sighed.

"Lo!"

Logan looked down at Jenny. She was holding a cup up to him. He smiled and took the cup from her. He took a sip being sure to tell her it was yummy.

"What do I do?" Logan sighed, "how can I get her to listen?"

"Well, sorry but if you two had been a little more open about sex maybe she wouldn't be so embarrassed," James said.

"Sorry Carlos is the one who is embarrassed about it. He's the one who's not open about it, and that's something Layla has picked up on," Logan said.

"The three of you need to sit down and talk about it. Teach her to be safe and that she can come to you no matter what," Kendall said.

"Why does parenting have to be so hard?" Logan asked, hanging his head.

"Because kids love to test our limits. I'm sure we weren't the best children at times either," James said.

"Kyle's getting a bit out of control. He had a doctors appointment and wouldn't let me go in with him. Something's off and he won't tell us what's wrong," Kendall said.

"Well he is an adult now, and I'm sure if something was really wrong he would tell you," Logan said.

"I guess, but I can't help but worry," Kendall sighed.

"As parents I think it's our jobs to worry," Logan replied.

"Why is raising kids so hard?" James asked.

—Happy Mistakes—

Kyle gasped as he back hit the wall. He heard the door slip shut behind them. Jared's lips were on his neck in seconds. It had only been a few days, but now that they were together it felt like an eternity had passed. Kyle grabbed Jared and made him look up at him. He smashed their lips together.

They were supposed to be getting ready for a movie night with the guys. Jared had offered to get snacks. Miles had left for his date with Leora. Kyle had managed to convince Jared to come back to his room for a few minutes. This was going to be their only chance at alone time this weekend.

"God, I missed you," Kyle said as he pushed Jared back into the room.

"That's crazy, it's only been like three days," Jared replied as he pulled the blonde close.

"I know, but I got spoiled by seeing you everyday," Kyle replied.

"Yeah, it's been strange not seeing you everyday. My hand can only go so far," Jared replied as his knees hit the edge of the bed.

"Same," Kyle laughed as he pushed Jared down onto the bed.

He climbed into his lap. He sealed their lips together again. Jared's hands started to wander up the back of his shirt. Kyle ground his hips down into Jared's trying to convey his message across. They were wearing too many clothes. Kyle started to tug at Jared's shirt. Jared raised his arms to assist in its removal.

The door banged open and Miles ran into the room in a full panic. He paused when he saw the two. Jared quickly pulled his short back down.

"Dude I need your help," Miles shouted.

"Kinda busy, aren't you supposed to be gone?" Kyle asked annoyed, not getting up.

"About that," Miles said slowly.

Kyle groaned as he stood up. He took a breath as he turned to face Miles. "This has better be important."

"What's going on?" Jared asked confused as he laid back on the bed. This has become something of a norm for them, ever since they shared that cabin up north. Miles has no sense of boundaries.

"Leora asked him on a date and he's panicking," Kyle said.

"About time, I thought Kyle and I were gonna be stuck with you forever," Jared replied.

"Yes and she's down in the lobby all dressed up and here I am looking like…well not dressed up," Miles said.

"Dude you knew this was happening, why didn't you pack accordingly?" Kyle asked annoyed. He walked over to his suitcase. "Lucky for you, I think ahead, now start stripping."

"If you wanted to get me naked-" Miles started.

"I don't, I want to get Jared naked and in order to do that I have to get you naked first cause you don't plan ahead," Kyle snapped.

"Yeah, I am woefully unprepared for life in general," Miles replied.

"Yes I know, now please just put these on," Kyle said shoving some clothes at Miles.

Miles cast a glance at Jared who was now on his phone not paying any attention to the pair. He sighed, but didn't look up.

"Miles, I am not looking at you, like Kyle said before, I want to see Kyle naked not you," Jared said.

"Don't act like you don't want this," Miles teased as he started to change his clothes.

"Question," Jared said, interrupting the two. They both turned to look at him. "If you two are sharing a room why is there only one bed?"

"Because they messed up our reservation, Jayda booked two queen suites and when we got here we had two kings. She managed to talk them into one king and one queen. Miles and I have always shared a bed when we were short on beds so we took the king," Kyle replied.

"By the way, do not have sex on that bed. I have to sleep there too," Miles declared.

"Fine, now just go," Kyle said shoving Miles towards the door.

"No need to be so pushy," Miles said.

"Get out," Jared said.

"Seriously not on the bed," Miles said as he opened the door and was knocked on the forehead by Noah, who let out a surprised eek. He stumbled back into Kyle.

"Miles, I'm so sorry," Noah said, his hands flying to his mouth.

"That's ok there's nothing up there," Kyle said laughing.

"Rude," Miles said glaring at Kyle.

"Don't you have somewhere to be?" Kyle asked.

"Crap, I gotta go." Miles bolted from the room shouting a quick goodbye to them.

"Noah, what do I owe this surprise. I didn't tell you my room number," Kyle said leaning against the door frame.

"No but your sister did," Noah replied with a smirk. "I've been sent to fetch Jared. He was supposed to be getting snacks for movie night. Rose is going to be here soon and we have no snacks."

"He's not here, maybe he's still out getting snacks," Kyle lied.

"His car is still in the parking lot Kyle, do I look stupid to you," Noah asked arching a brow at the blonde.

"Noah you are one of the smartest people I know," Kyle replied with a grin. "He came to ask s to go with and I distracted him. I am sorry." Sex

"Just give me his car keys," Noah said holding his hand out.

"I'm not letting you drive my car Noah," Jared said stepping up behind Kyle. He held the keys out. "These are to go to Matty. I am going to text him."

"We never should have trusted you, knowing Kyle was here," Noah said snatching the keys.

"I mean it Noah I'm texting Matt right now," Jared said.

"You've got like twenty minutes before Rose gets here and wants to hang out," Noah said.

"Good, I only need like five minutes anyways," Kyle replied cockily.

"Just five?" Jared asked.

"I've never heard you complain," Kyle said.

"It's a little more than five minutes," Jared said.

"No, you're pretty easy," Kyle said.

"Way more than I needed to know," Noah said, shaking his head. He covered his ears as he ran away from the laughing pair.

"Do you think we scarred him?" Kyle asked as he shut the door.

"Maybe, am I really that easy?" Jared asked curiously.

"Only because I know you so well," Kyle said as he crossed the room to his bag. He grabbed some lube and some condoms from within. "The bed is now off limits so that leaves the bathroom, we are gonna need a shower after anyways."

They entered the bathroom and Kyle pushed Jared into the counter. They locked lips and started to undress one another.

—Happy Mistakes—

Jake paced back and forth with Eli, trying to calm the crying infant. Damien was doing much better. He was right on track with his recovery. He was currently sitting up picking at his supper tray.

The last few days had been tense. He had been distant ever since Camille, Steve, and Logan had had it out in front of him. Camille had broken down and told him everything. Steve had argued with her. Logan just didn't know what to do. None of them had been back in the last few days. Camille was calling Jake asking for updates, but Damien didn't want to see her right now. Jake had come back after Steve left. After that Damien asked everyone to leave, even Jake. So far the only person he let back in was Jake.

"I know it's not the best food, do you want me to go get something else?" Jake asked, trying to lighten the mood.

"I'm not really hungry," Damien replied, not looking up from his food. He continued to stab the meat before him.

"I'm pretty sure it's already dead," Jake said.

"I'm not even sure what it is," Damien replied looking at the meat quizzically.

"You gotta eat Day," Jake said, walking over to the bed.

"Sorry I just…" Damien trailed off.

"I know it's a lot to take in," Jake started.

"A lot to take in? They lied to me my whole life!" Damien shouted causing Jake to jump back. Eli whimpered at the sudden movement.

"Damien I can't imagine what you're going through, but they are still your parents. You need to talk to them," Jake said, as he gently rocked Eli.

"Why? He's not my dad and my mom lied to me," Damien said bluntly.

"Steve is your dad. He raised you and loved you. This changes nothing," Jake said.

"It changes everything!" Damien snapped. "I feel like I don't know who I am anymore. My whole life has been a lie!"

Jake stood back, unsure of what to say. He couldn't imagine what was going through Damien's head right now. He looked down at the baby in his arms. He gave a soft smile.

"You are Damien Saunders. You are the father to my child. You are my husband, my love," Jake said softly.

"I know that," Damien said softly. He reached out for Jake. Jake moved closer to the bed. He allowed Damien to take his hand. "I love you Jake and nothing is going to change that, but you don't understand. A whole part of me feels lost over all this. You weren't here when they were arguing. You didn't hear the things my dad said."

"He was drunk Damien. He was and is still digesting the news," Jake said.

"I know that, but I need time too," Damien said.

"Just call you mom at least. She's driving me nuts," Jake said.

"Ok, in a couple days. Just...I need to process this," Damien said.

"That's fair," Jake replied nodding his head. He glanced down at Eli, who was blissfully unaware.

"But just don't forget about us either. We are here for you too Damien."

"We?" Damien asked.

"Me and Eli," Jake replied with a smile. Damien grabbed his hand again. He brought it to his lips with a smile.

"Thank you," Damien said.

"Seriously though, do you want me to go get you some different food," Jake asked.

"No need big brother."

Jake looked up as Adam entered the room with takeout in hand. Copper was right behind him. The kids were nowhere to be seen.

"I texted Adam awhile ago," Damien admitted looking down at his phone.

"Hey, the food had to be cooked," Adam said walking over to the bed. He saw the bag down on the tray table. "One Buffalo bomber for Jake and a black bean burger for Day." He said.

"I should have known," Jake said, "no kids?"

"They are with pops," Adam said.

"He sent us to try and convince you to let Eli spend the night," Cooper said holding his hands out to his nephew. Jake passed him over before grabbing his food.

"Tell him thanks for the offer but-" Jake started.

"Let him take Eli overnight Jake, you need a little break. You've been running yourself ragged between being here and your classes," Damien said.

"Yeah, I could use a break," Jake admitted as he looked over at Eli.

"Exactly, so let us take the rug rat to your dads and you can go relax and sleep," Cooper said.

"Fine," Jake said.

"Jenny is gonna be so happy. She loves having sleepovers already," Adam said.

"Well I'm sure Leora will be teaching her all about sleepovers and makeup in no time," Jake said.

"I dread the day Miri starts asking about makeup," Adam said, shaking his head.

"That's why we have Leora, she can help them with that," Cooper said.

"Kyle too, I'm sure he's learned a few tricks from his days as a model," Damien said.

"Oh yeah, they used to practice makeup on each other, remember," Adam said, turning to Jake.

—Happy Mistakes—

Miles followed Leora along towards a semi-sketchy looking building. He had met her in the lobby. She had told him to follow her. She had everything planned. Miles trusted her, unlike Kyle she had never steered him wrong. He glanced up at the sign and saw the word bowling. He grinned as he realized what she had in mind. She had done her research.

She led him into the building. There were a few small groups bowling. There were kids running about the small arcade. It smelled of fried food and used bowling shoes. Laughter and the crack of bowling balls hitting pins was all he could hear. It was not a place Miles had expected Leora to take him.

Leora led him up to the counter. She rented them some bowling shoes. They quickly got their shoes on and selected their balls. They picked an open lane and Miles quickly sat down at the computer.

"So should I just go ahead and name myself the winner and you the runner-up?" Miles asked teasingly.

"Oh please, Kyle isn't here to help you win. I'm gonna whoop your ass," Leora said.

"You wish," Miles said. He held out a fist to her. "Winner goes first."

"You're on," Leora said.

After a quick game, Leora won with paper over rock. Miles cursed his luck and allowed her to go first. Leora grabbed her ball and took a breath. As she swung her arm Miles called out.

"Good luck Le, don't let anything distract you!"

Leora jerked and her ball went straight to the gutter. She turned to glare at Miles who was now laughing.

"Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'll be quiet," he promised.

Leora retrieved her ball. She managed to knock nine pins down. She gave a small bow to Miles and told him to take his turn.

Miles grabbed his ball and gave a few practice swings. Once he was sure he was ready he walked up to the lane. He started to swing his ball.

"Oh and Miles don't mess up," Leora called causing him to jump a little.

His ball went off center hitting three pins. He turned to her with a smile. He had taught her so well.

"And so the student had become the master," he said, giving her a small bow. He grabbed his ball and took his next turn hitting three more pins.

The game continued on like that. They were both trying to fluster the other. They were laughing and having a good time. Miles almost forgot this was a date.

Soon they were on their last frame. It was Miles' turn. He just needed to knock down five pins to tie her. He took a deep breath and turned towards the lane. He was trying to block out Leora for the moment. This was crunch time he needed to win.

"Miles?"

Miles turned to Leora, who was now standing behind him. She smiled up at him.

"Good luck," she said as she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek.

Miles felt his face heat up. His words were gone, again. Leave it to these damn Knights to leave him speechless like this. He just nodded his head and turned back to the task at hand. He was so flustered that he gutterballed it.

"And just like that I win!" Leora declared.

"That's not fair, you can't just-you can't do that and expect me to focus," Miles exclaimed.

"Sorry," Leora said her cheeks dusting pink. She looked away before she gathered her courage. She turned back to him with that same cocky smirk as Kyle. "Too bad you didn't win, you couldn't have gotten more." She turned and walked away.

Miles followed her back to the bench. He quickly sat down beside her stopping her from changing her shoes.

"I gotta question," Miles said.

"What?" Leora asked, cocking her head to the side, much like Kyle would.

"Is this like a date date?" Miles asked slowly.

He wasn't sure what he wanted her answer to be. Until recently he had given up on her. He was kind of hoping things with Kyle were changing. Obviously after walking in on him and Jared that wasn't happening. He and Kyle were not on the same page. Maybe it was time to move on and try and start actually dating. Leora seemed like she was ready to give it a try too.

"Yes, I was kind of hoping it was," Leora admitted as she fiddled with her shoelaces.

"Ok then," Miles said slowly. He nodded his head. Leora tilted her head again. "Do you trust me?" He asked.

"Yes," Leora said without any hesitation.

"Come get your shoes on," Miles said as he started to change his shoes.

Once they were done he led her from the bowling alley. They raced back to the car. Miles pulled his phone out and checked something before he tossed it aside. He started driving.

Leora just watched him confused. She remained silent. Something Kyle would not have done. He would have questioned Miles a thousand times. He would demand to know where they were going. Miles parked the car and got out quickly running around to Leora's side of the car. He helped her out.

"Where are we?" Leora asked looking around.

Miles took her hand and led her down the block to a small ice cream shop. "It's one of the few good childhood memories I have." He said as he led her inside. "My mom, I mean Sandra, would bring me here when we would visit abuela. She always spoiled me with ice cream. This is the best ice cream in the whole world."

"I'll be the judge of that," Leora replied with a smile.

Once they reached the front of the line Miles quickly ordered himself an orange twister cone and told Leora to trust him. She ordered the same. Miles quickly paid for everything and they were leaving the shop with their ice cream. They started walking as they ate.

"Ok this is pretty good," Leora said.

"I told you," Miles said cockily.

They walked and talked for a while. Their ice cream was long gone by the time they made their way back to the car. Miles held Leora's car door open for her. She thanked him as she got in.

The ride back to the hotel was filled with more laughter and conversation. This had to be one of the most relaxed dates Miles had ever been on. Things with Leora were so easy. It was like he didn't have to try to impress her. She already knew him and all his tricks. She even managed to pull a few on him tonight.

Once they arrived at the hotel he walked her to her room. They stopped at the door. This is where things got awkward. How was he supposed to end this date. Did she want a kiss? Did he want to kiss her? What was he supposed to do?

"So uh-" Leora said.

The elevator dinged and Miles glanced past Leora as Kyle and Jared bolted past laughing. They quickly entered his and Kyle's room playfully arguing. Neither of them noticed Miles or Leora.

"I'd love to stay and chat but if I don't act quick I won't be sleeping in a bed tonight," Miles said.

"Good night Miles," Leora chuckled. She leaned in and kissed him on the cheek again. She then entered her room.

Miles stood there a moment smiling. He then remembered the two in his room and ran down the hall. He entered the room to find Kyle standing on the bed with a pillow above his head as Jared glared up at him.

"What's going on now?" Miles asked.

"He's mad cause he knows I'm right," Kyle said, not taking his eyes off Jared.

"What now?" Miles asked.

"Star Trek is so overrated and Star Wars is better," Kyle said.

"You are so wrong it hurts," Jared said, shaking his head. He however turned his attention to Miles. "So, how was your date."

"It was pretty fun," Miles said, "we went bowling and then for some ice cream."

"Who won? Did you kick her butt or let her win?" Kyle asked as he got down from the bed, being sure to bop Jared with the pillow. Jared gave him a playful shove.

"I lost by five pins, but I didn't let her win," Miles said. "I just suck a little more than she does."

Kyle and Jared laughed.

"So, was it a date date?" Kyle asked sitting down on the edge of the bed. Jared sat down in the desk chair waiting for details as well.

"Yeah, I was about to seal the deal when you two ran past and kinda killed the moment," Miles said.

"So what you're saying is you didn't kiss her," Jared said.

"No, I was a perfect gentleman," Miles said.

"Are you sure she knew it was a date date?" Kyle asked.

"Yes, I asked her and we agreed that it was a date," Miles said nodding his head.

"So second date?" Jared asked.

"We didn't talk about it. I got distracted by you two and protecting the bed," Miles said.

"It's Leora, it's not like you two are never gonna see each other again," Kyle said.

"Oh by the way totally random here, but how did your appointment go the other day," Jared said switching tracks.

"Oh it went fine. He said I just have a high metabolism and he took some blood work and I won't get the results until next week, but he's sure that things are fine. He also referred me out to a therapist," Kyle said looking down at the ground.

"There's nothing wrong with getting help," Jared said.

"I still go to therapy once in a while. I've got some serious PTSD from my childhood," Miles said taking a seat next to Kyle.

"I know," Kyle said, "oh he also wants me to go to the eye doctor because apparently someone with 20/20 vision should be able to read the fifth line," he added.

"That's bad," Jared said.

"You need glasses," Miles laughed.

"No way, I was just having an off day," Kyle said, shaking his head.

"Sorry I gotta agree with Miles here, you might need glasses," Jared laughed.

"Nah, I'll be fine. It was just a bad day," Kyle said, waving a hand.

Damien yawned as he woke up. It was still strange being in the hospital. So much had happened in the last few days. He wasn't even sure what was going to happen now.

Camille had opened a can of worms when she told him that Logan was his biological father. Steve hadn't helped the situation either. He had been drunk and pestered Camille until she broke down. Logan tried to mediate but Steve just lashed out at him. Damien had not expected that. Eventually he had asked them all to leave, even Jake. He had wanted to be alone. Camille cried and tried to apologize, but he wasn't ready for that. He needed time to process everything.

Logan was his biological father. How was he supposed to take that news? He didn't know what to think about any of this. It was insane. How had Camille managed to lie to him for al these years.

Jake had been by his side the last few days. He had helped Damien talk through his emotions. He told him that nothing was different. He was still the same person he always was. Damien was grateful for Jake. He understood him better than anyone else.

A knock at the door caught his attention. He turned, ready to tell Jake that he should've slept in only to be greeted with the sight of Steve sitting across from him on his phone.

"Dad?"

Steve looked up shocked. "I didn't mean to wake you. I was just gonna-" he started.

"It's ok," Damien said holding up a hand.

"I wanted to apologize for what happened the other day. I didn't handle things well," Steve said.

"I mean, I probably would've done the same thing," Damien replied, "I mean I am your child, blood or not."

Steve laughed at that. He stood and walked over to the bed. He sighed as he thought over his words. Things felt a little awkward now.

"So, have you seen mom?" Damien asked slowly. He knew it was a sore subject, but he needed to know what was happening.

"I haven't been home since the night of your accident," Steve admitted.

"I understand," Damien said.

"I don't know what to do," Steve sighed, "on the one hand I love her, but she lied to me. It feels like our whole life together was built on a lie. I just...I feel so betrayed and I don't know if I can forgive her."

"Does this mean I get two Christmases now?" Damien asked. Steve's jaw dropped for a moment before he started laughing.

"Thanks, I needed that," Steve said, sobering up a bit. "You know, you are my son and I love you. I wanna say this changes nothing but…"

"But it does," Damien said.

"A little." Steve nodded.

"Where do we go from here?" Damien asked.

"When you hit rock bottom, the only place to go is up," Steve said.

"I guess, but you gotta talk to mom sooner or later," Damien said.

"I know, this last week I have taken a lot of time to think and let the news sink in," Steve said. "I shouldn't have been here the other night, but when they called and said you were finally awake I was so relieved. I was glad you were ok. We were all so worried," Steve said.

"I know, it feels like a blur to me. I don't even remember anything after the crash. All I remember is waking up feeling like I had been hit by a bus," Damien said.

"I think it was a pick up truck," Steve said.

"Yeah, that's what Jake and Adam told me," Damien nodded.

The two fell into conversation together. It was a bit tense, and they steered away conversation about Camille and Logan.

James yawned as he followed Kendall upstairs. Kendall was leading a sleepy Jenny and Miri to Jenny's room. He was also cradling a sleeping Kenny in his arms. James was currently holding Eli, who was now wide awake.

"Ok it's nap time," Kendall told the girls.

"Nap pop-pop," Jenny said to James.

"Yes sweetie, it's nap time," James said smiling at her.

She had started calling him pop-pop lately. He was sure it was a mixture of papa and pops. Miri was catching on too. The two girls looked up and him and Kendall and yawned. They would be asleep in no time. Kendall placed Kenny in the playpen. He was already dead to the world. Nothing was waking that kid up. He then led the girls over to Jenny's toddler bed and they both climbed in together. He tucked them both in giving them both kisses on the cheek. James smiled as he selected a nap time story. He handed it to the blonde as he sat down in the rocking chair with Eli. Kendall settled down next to the bed on Jenny's pile of stuffies.

"Now I see why she hides there," James said chuckling. "It's where you sit."

"It's more comfortable than you think," Kendall replied.

He started to read the nap time story to Jenny and Miri. Both girls were already yawning. They would be sleeping in no time.

James sat back rocking Eli gently. He had fed him his bottle before coming up here. His diaper was clean too. He was currently chewing on one of his teething toys. He was content to sit with James who was gently rocking him.

James closed his eyes as he listened to Kendall read. He was relaxed as could be. Having the kids over was exhausting, but he would not trade any of them for the world. He loved all his grandkids.

He continued to gently rock Eli. Back and forth. Kendall's voice was so soothing.

He stirred when he felt Eli move. He opened his eyes and saw Kendall holding Eli. Kendall smiled at him. He pointed to the girls who were now sleeping. When had that happened?

"Go lay down, I can handle Eli," Kendall whispered. He leaned over and pecked James on the lips.

He left the room, James jumped up and followed him. He stopped him at the top of the stairs. As appealing as a nap sounded he didn't want to leave Kendall on his own.

"Kendall," James said.

"You can go take a nap," Kendall told him.

"I'm fine, it was just sitting in the chair and rocking the baby," James said.

"It's ok to be tired James, go and take a nap. I've got this. Eli and I can hang and I've got the baby monitor in case the other three wake up," Kendall said.

"Are you sure? I don't want to leave you all alone?" James asked as he fought another yawn.

"James I'll be fine," Kendall said, waving a hand.

"Ok, don't let me sleep too long," James said.

"I'll wake you when I wake the girls," Kendall promised. He leaned in and pecked James on the cheek. He gave him a shooing motion towards their bedroom.

James headed into his room. He heard Kendall go downstairs talking to Eli about how much fun they were gonna have. James climbed into bed. He heard the door opening. He turned and saw Jenny and Miri peeking in at him.

"Girls it's nap time," he sighed as he sat up. So much for sleeping.

"Pop-pop." Miri said, running up to him.

She tried to climb up onto the bed. Jenny followed her. Once they realized they could not climb, they gave him the biggest puppy eyes they could muster. He tried to remain stern, but he could not. Those eyes were his kryptonite. James smiled as he helped them both into the bed. He laid down with them.

"Pop-pop." Jenny said snuggling in closer to him.

James sighed as he knew the name pops was never gonna go away. He had hoped after the kids had grown up it would, but it seemed Miri and Jenny had picked up on it. He didn't mind it, not as much as he used to. It was Carlos who had started the whole thing as a joke. He had gotten Jake and Adam to say it when they were young and they taught Kyle and Leora, and it stuck around. He didn't mind anymore.

-Happy Mistakes-

Kyle yawned as he moved about his and Miles hotel room. Noah had taken everyone on an adventure for his blog. He had taken them north a couple hours and to a cliff overlooking the ocean. It had been epic and inspired a spur of the moment photo shoot. Miles and Noah had vlogged the entire adventure too. Now everyone was getting ready for shooting with Rose. She had shot her baking videos with the guys the other day. Now she wanted to feature Kyle and Miles in a video and one with Jayda and Leora too. They were going to be working well into the night. It was gonna be worth it though.

Miles exited the bathroom. He jumped onto the bed and arched a brow at the blonde. Kyle walked over to the bed and fell down beside him. He glanced up at Miles.

"I'm surprised Jared isn't here trying to maul you," Miles said.

"We're not attached at the hip," Kyle said.

"I never would have guessed. Yesterday you two couldn't keep your hands or lips to yourselves," Miles replied.

"Jealous?" Kyle asked, smirking up at him.

"No, I just don't want to see that," Miles replied looking away from Kyle. Kyle sat up and scooted closer to the brunette.

"I think someone is jealous," Kyle said sitting up, "don't worry dude, I'll always have time for you. You're my best friend."

"Do best friends do the things we do?" Miles asked slowly.

"What do you mean?" Kyle asked, "this?" he leaned in and sealed their lips together in a soft kiss. It was nothing like the usual rushed kisses they shared.

"Yeah that," Miles said breathlessly.

"I don't know, but it's what we do," Kyle shrugged.

"Should we? I mean I'm kind of seeing your sister," Miles said.

"I'm dating Jared," Kyle shrugged, "it's not like it means anything."

"Right, just bros helping bros, but if things work out, I don't think I'll need the help," Miles replied grinning.

"Please don't talk about my sister like that, it's not a mental image I need," Kyle said, making a face. Miles just laughed at that.

Kyle leaned over and sealed their lips together again. This time with a little more urgency. Miles' laughter died immediately. He leaned into the blonde allowing him to take complete control of the kiss. It was so familiar and inviting.

Miles couldn't help himself. He knew that this was going to have to end soon. If he wanted things to work out with Leora, he couldn't be kissing her brother like this. Kyle was intoxicating though, once he started, he couldn't stop. His brain was trying to tell him to stop, but Kyle's lips were just so inviting.

"We should get going," Kyle whispered, turning his head to the side.

"Probably," Miles gasped, leaning against the blonde.

"The others are probably waiting," Kyle said. He was reluctant to let go.

"Yeah," Miles said, sitting up.

Neither of them knew what to say. Kyle hadn't intended to do that. He had been just joking around, but there was something addicting to all the sneaking around.

—Happy Mistakes—

Kendall moved about the kitchen getting a snack together for the girls. Eli was sitting cozy in his bouncy chair by the table. Kendall was currently cutting up some fruit for the girls. He had some bananas for Kenny too. He was eating more and more foods as the days went by.

The girls had been napping for almost an hour now. Cooper would be here soon to pick up his two rascals and Kendall wanted to make sure they weren't too cranky when he got here. He finished with the fruit and grabbed three juice boxes. He set the table and turned to Eli.

"Alright bubby," Kendall said as he picked the infant up. "Time to go wake everyone up."

He made his way upstairs to Jenny's room. He saw Kenny still fast asleep. He must've been tired. However Jenny and Miri were nowhere to be seen.

"Jenny? Miri?" Kendall said as he walked over to the stuffie pile.

He moved a few stuffies aside and didn't find the girls. Jenny normally would be giggling by this point if she was awake. He turned around and looked around the room. He quickly checked the closet for the girls and they weren't there. He didn't know where they could be.

"Uh-oh Bubby, this isn't good," Kendall said looking down at Eli.

He exited the room and quickly checked Kyle and Leora's rooms. Those girls could be anywhere. He didn't want to tell James that he lost them. He would panic and never trust him again. He had one job and he failed at it.

"Jenny? Miri?"

He checked under the beds and in closets. He checked every crevice the girls might have fit in. He moved on to Adam's old room. They weren't in there either. He sighed as he knew that he needed James's help. Eli was a handful and he could move faster if he didn't have the child in his arms.

He entered his and James' room and paused. James was sleeping with Jenny and Miri cuddled up next to him. They all looked so peaceful and not stressed at all. His panic left, and was replaced with slight annoyance. He should have known better.

"James."

James stirred slightly but did not wake up. Kendall crossed the room. He leaned over, as best he could while holding Eli.

"James is that grey hair I see?" Kendall said.

"Shut up," James mumbled, swatting at him. Kendall caught his hand with a grin. James finally opened his eyes to look at the blonde.

"I couldn't find the girls and I almost panicked," Kendall said glaring at him.

"They were in here with me, we took a nap together," James said sitting up. He looked down at the sleeping girls.

"Yeah, you could've let me know," Kendall said.

"But you were already down stairs and I couldn't say no to those eyes, they both did it," James replied.

"You could've texted me," Kendall said.

"I was too tired to think about that," James admitted.

"You're lucky they were with you," Kendall said. "You had Bubby and I really worried."

"I'm sorry Bubby," James said smiling up at Eli. He grabbed his foot making the infant giggle. He looked down at the two girls sleeping next to him.

"Come on I've got snacks ready," Kendall said.

"Girls," James said, nudging them gently. Miri grunted and shook her head.

"Miri, Jenny, I made snacks," Kendall said.

Jenny sat up and looked at Kendall with a smile. He grinned. She was a girl after his own heart. Food was the answer to a lot of things.

"Come on Bug, let's go get some snacks," Kendall said. James helped her out of bed. "Can you go get Kenny, I was holding Eli and he's still sleeping," he asked James.

"Yes, once I get mini Adam up," James replied.

"Oh my god she is totally like him," Kendall laughed.

He remembered how hard it had been to get Adam up from nap time when he was her age. It was funny to see how much she really was like Adam.

Kendall held a hand out to Jenny. She took his hand and they headed down stairs. Kendall got her all set up to eat her snack by the time James emerged with a crabby Miri and a drowsy Kenny.

"Bear, I've got snacks," Kendall said walking over to her and picking her up.

He placed her in her chair and held out a juice box for her. She snatched it with all the attitude an almost three year old could have and took a big drink. She then saw her fruit and started to devour it. Kendall chuckled and watched as James got Kenny all set up with his banana.

"Feel rested?" Kendall asked.

"Yeah, thanks," James said smiling.

"As soon as Cooper picks the kids up it's my turn for a nap," Kendall said.

"Sure thing old man," James replied.

"I'm so old I can't even deny it anymore. I am so tired and it's barely even one o'clock," Kendall said hanging his head with a chuckle.

-Happy Mistakes-

Leora sighed happily as she looked herself over in the mirror. She was still riding on cloud nine after last night. She had even snagged a few minutes alone with Miles this morning on their hike.

"Girl you got it bad," Jayda said walking up to her.

"What gives you that idea?" Leora asked.

"Well you've been sitting in front of your mirror for like ten minutes not putting any makeup on which is very unlike you," Jayda laughed.

"Sorry, I'm just distracted I guess," Leora said.

"So why now? You never showed much interest in Miles before," Jayda asked.

"I don't know, Miles and I were talking a while back and I kind of had this aha moment, where I was like everything I have been looking for was right there in front of me. It was MIles, and that thought scared me," Leora admitted.

"Scared you?" Jayda asked, confused.

"It's Miles, he's Kyle's best friend. He's my best friend. Like, I didn't know what to do," Leora said.

"So, are you serious about this or…" Jayda asked slowly.

"I am, I have given this a lot of thought. I was scared at first, but I've realized that Miles is a great guy. I think I was more scared of Kyle freaking out about it," Leora said.

"Are you kidding Kyle and I have been trying to get you two crazy cats together for a long time and then you started dating Caleb and he was with Rion and we kind of gave up," Jayda laughed.

"You don't have to worry Jay, I'm not going to hurt him. Not on purpose," Leora said.

"Good," Jayda said.

"That being said, we could find out that we are totally not compatible as a couple," Leora said.

"I think you two are perfect for each other. No one gets him like you do," Jayda said.

"Maybe Kyle knows him better than I do," Leora said.

"Well yeah, they are best friends," Jayda said, "I don't think I've ever seen anyone closer than those two."

"Right, maybe that's why I was so scared. I don't want to come between them, but I noticed Miles was getting more bold with his flirting and Kyle didn't seem to care," Leora shrugged.

"So what about when you leave for college?" Jayda asked.

"I don't know, I'm learning to live in the moment. Miles taught me that," Leora said.

"Who knows what will happen in a few months. Who knows this could end up not working out," Leora said.

"Oh don't talk like that, you two are gonna make a super cute couple," Jayda said waving a hand at her.

"Thanks, come on let's get going, we don't wanna keep Rose waiting," Leora said standing up.

"No rush, I'm sure Kyle and Miles aren't even ready yet," Jayda replied, pushing her back down into her chair.

"Yeah, Kyle can be a bit of a diva," Leora said nodding her head.

"Finish your makeup, I'm not saying like a full going out look either, something simple that highlights your natural beauty. Make him want you more," Jayda said.

"Thanks Jay, you're a good friend," Leora smiled at her.

"I try," Jayda laughed.

The two continued to chat and finish getting ready. Eventually they met the boys in the lobby. Kyle was talking to Jared and Matt while Miles annoyed Roldy. Noah was watching the two amused. Leora ran up to them.

"Miles remember that little voice in your head that tells you to shut up, you should stop ignoring it," Leora teased.

"Jokes on you I don't have that voice," Miles shot back without missing a beat.

"I'm that voice now shut up," Jayda said smacking him upside the head. "Roldy is too polite but I'm not."

"Love you too Jay," Miles said, rubbing the back of his head. "And FYI Roldy just has RBF."

"I've been told that many times," Roldy confirmed nodding his head. "But you are annoying Miles."

"And I've been told that more times than I can count," Miles said.

"Which isn't very high," Jayda teased.

"Hurtful," Miles said, feigning hurt. The group, Miles included, laughed. "We were actually talking about the tour, which I am helping orchestrate in hopes of getting to tag a long."

"He's basically our water boy, and we are telling Kendall we can go on without him," Noah said.

"Yeah, seriously without him and Kyle reminding Kendall to hydrate us we would probably be dead from his boot camp," Roldy said.

"Everyone here? Let's go," Kyle said, getting their attention. He ushered everyone out of the lobby.

"What's the rush?" Miles asked.

"We were supposed to be at Rose's like twenty minutes ago. I don't think you realize just how long these baking videos take to make. We are going to be there till almost midnight," Jared said.

"Here, you go with Kyle and Miles and get them there. I'll go get the caffeine and other junk to keep us going for the night," Roldy said holding out his hand for the car keys.

"Noah isn't allowed to drive," Jared said.

"One scratch!" Noah said.

"Yeah and I don't want anymore," Jared said. He led Kyle and Miles away with Jayda and Leora following them. "I'll drive if you want, I know where we are going."

"Yes please, I'll just get us lost," Kyle said.

"Shotgun!" Miles called as he ran out Kyle. Kyle took off after him.

"No way," Kyle said.

The two started arguing. Jayda shared a look with Jared. He gave her a nod and she walked right past them and got into the front seat. Kyle and Miles paused and looked at her shocked.

"You snooze, you loose boys, now get in back," Jayda said.

"You heard her, get a move on, we gotta go," Jared laughed as he passed them.

The two grumbled as they got into the back with a giggling Leora.
