A/N: Thank you to everyone who takes the time to give my story a read, this is my first Labyrinth fanfiction, and I was nervous as all get out about posting it. There isn't going to a set schedule for me to upload the chapters as I have work and real-life issues to deal with.

Please leave a review if you have time, I would love the feedback. And without further ado…

I do not own anything except any OC characters that I choose to add into the story. Thank you.

IX.

Jareth was furious. There wasn't much he could but watch over Sarah until she came to. If she came to. He shook his head. He wasn't going to let himself think those thoughts as he let his eyes roam over her form and paused, holding his breath as he waited. Sarah's form was moving slowly, almost imperceptibly, but with his keen eyesight, the movement didn't go unnoticed. She was breathing, albeit shallowly, but there was at least breath in her lungs. He wasn't sure what kind of damage that blow had done. He would either need to get her to one of his healers or heal her himself. Jareth yanked at the chains that bound him again, but they held firm.

He was sweating, his breath heavy from trying to pry the chains from the wall. Jareth flopped unceremoniously to the floor as he bounded his fists against the stone. The ones responsible for kidnapping both Sarah and him, being traitorous to the Goblin Kingdom, and hurting Sarah were going to pay dearly for their atrocities was the only thing that was keeping Jareth from giving up. The room was quiet, save for both his and Sarah's breathing, until he heard it.

There was a soft scraping sound coming from somewhere on the other side of the wall where the window was located. Jareth looked up and couldn't see anything through the window, since it was so high up on the wall. The scraping sound continued for a few minutes until it stopped. Jareth sensed it before he heard it, which immediately made him to try to get closer to Sarah, but the chains stopped him. He hoped that whatever was about to happen, it wouldn't injure her further. Jareth turned his head just as a loud wrenching sound was heard.

The wall with the window near the ceiling exploded outwards, creating a cloud of dust that caused Jareth to blink and his eyes watered as he peered through the haze of debris. There was a decent 6-foot-wide jagged hole and Jareth had to cover his eyes with one of his arms to combat the onslaught of the sunlight that poured in. A shadow passed across his vision and a familiar masculine voice met his ears, "Jareth!" Jareth removed his arm from over his eyes and was graced with the sight of a man about the same height as him, with the same golden blond hair, but the man's was pulled back into a leather band at the base of his neck. Jareth met the man's eyes, which unlike Jareth's that were mismatched due to a childhood accident that his left eye look brown, this man's were the same brilliant frosty blue as Jareth's right eye.

As Jareth's vision cleared, he noticed that his brother was wearing full armor and regalia befit of the man's station, being the High Prince and all. And the man's face held a smirk as he regarded his twin brother, who was sitting on the stone floor. "Well now, aren't you just a damsel in distress?" The man said, chuckling as Jareth grimaced and glared at his twin. "Very amusing, Cian. (Key-en) I am quite sure we will find this situation amusing later, but as for right now, I would very much like to remove these chains." Jareth replied, his voice hard, gesturing to the manacles around his wrists, jostling the chains noisily. The man, who Jareth had called Cian, nodded once, replaced his smirk with a more serious face, and leaned down to get a better view of the bindings.

"This is some serious magic, brother-mine." Cian replied, his gloved hands gingerly examining the manacles. He turned Jareth's hand over and back a couple of times to inspect the manacle closer. "Not many except higher nobility know of such spells. This smells of deceit." He said, pulling his gloved hands away from Jareth's.

"For once you are correct. It seems I have a rat in my court." Jareth replied, pausing for a moment to raise his eyebrows, "You are late. What kept you?" He asked.

Cian grinned, "Unfortunately, that story will have to wait, brother-mine. My priority is to get you out of here. Although it will not be without difficulty. I currently do not possess the knowledge to remove these bindings, but I know who does. This will have to do for now." He replied as he touched the middle of the chain connected to the wall and it rusted quickly and fell apart, leaving about a foot of chain connected to the manacle on Jareth's wrist. Cian repeated the same motion for each chain and he then helped Jareth to his feet. "That will make it easier to move at least. After you." He said, gesturing to the hole in the wall.

Jareth was about to take a step when a soft cough alerted his ears. His head immediately whipped around. In his excitement of the daring rescue from his twin brother and to be free of the bondage, he had almost forgotten Sarah. He felt ashamed, but squashed his feelings, walked over to Sarah, who thankfully seemed to be uninjured, but still unconscious, which concerned Jareth. "Could you release her bindings as well?" He asked, placing a hand on Sarah's neck, mentally sighing in relief as he felt a strong pulse underneath his fingers.

Cian raised an eyebrow, but chose not to comment, which Jareth was grateful for. He merely nodded and after inspecting Sarah's bindings, tapped on the manacles on her ankles which rusted and proceeded to fall off onto the floor.

Jareth muttered a "Thank you." As he reached down and scooped Sarah into his arms. When he had situated her as best he could, he glanced up at Cian, who had an amused look on his face, but quickly hid it as Jareth's icy gaze met his. "Lead on, Cian." Jareth said, his tone hard. Cian nodded and stepped over some of the stony debris as Jareth followed him outside.

Jareth tightened his hold on Sarah as he used one of his arms to shield his eyes from the mid-day sun. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he was quite surprised to find that Cian was not alone. It seemed that Cian had brought a handful of his own personal soldiers and another handful of goblins, that were looking tremendously pleased with themselves. "Quite the entourage you have assembled." He said, raising an eyebrow at Cian.

Cian chuckled and shook his head, "Suffice it to say, I would have just brought my own men, but when your subjects heard that I was on a rescue mission, they would not take no for an answer. And they are surprisingly useful when it comes to makeshift explosives as well." He said, gesturing to the hole in the wall that had been Jareth's prison.

Jareth nodded in agreement. "They are hardy little creatures, but loyal to a fault." He said, shifting Sarah around in his arms.

Cian clasped a hand on Jareth's shoulder, "Come. There is a little time to tarry before whoever place you here finds our mess. Let us continue this conversation elsewhere." Cian waited for Jareth to nod in response and all 3 of them disappeared in a shower of golden glitter that quickly blew away on the wind.
