A/N: I realized I had the roman numerals wrong on a few chapters, I edited and fixed that. I also realized after reading it over that I had said Sarah's eyes were blue in the beginning instead of green. I fixed that as well. I don't have a beta, so all the mistakes are my own. I will fix them as I see them. Thanks.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to give my story a read, this is my first Labyrinth fanfiction, and I was nervous as all get out about posting it. There isn't going to a set schedule for me to upload the chapters as I have work and real-life issues to deal with.

Please leave a review if you have time, I would love the feedback. And without further ado…

I do not own anything except any OC characters that I choose to add into the story. Thank you.

XIII.

Sarah accepted the goblet and took a small sip, it tasted earthy, but sweet, and she could tell this wasn't wine from aboveground. After another longer sip, she sighed softly, "I'm alright for now. Though I could use a 'hot soak' as Ayden suggested." She replied, wondering how the plumbing was in the underground, hoping it wasn't archaic.

Jareth nodded in response and gestured his hand to the door, which swung open on it's own. "Uma!" He called out in a commanding tone, that made Sarah jump upon hearing it suddenly without warning.

A greyish-green goblin appeared in the doorway of his bedchamber, it was medium-sized and was wearing what looked like a dingy dress with a stained, once white apron tied to the front of it. The goblin's black eyes blinked quickly, and a look of surprise passed over the goblin's face, but it quickly hid it. "You called, your majesty?" The goblin asked in a low rasp, it's voice slightly feminine, but sounded like it had been a smoker for 30 years.

"Yes. This is Lady Sarah. You will show her to the chambers next to mine and see to her needs. Do you understand?" He commanded.

Uma looked shocked for a moment, then composed herself. Sarah took notice of the shocked look and decided she would ask the goblin later when they were alone what she meant. "The c-chambers n-next to y-yours?" She asked nervously. She fidgeted her feet as she waited for her King to answer.

Jareth's gaze turned hard. "Yes. The chambers next to mine. And Uma, see to it that Lady Sarah wants for naught. Anything she needs." He replied, the commanding tone in his voice never wavering.

Uma nodded, "Yes. Your majesty." She answered, gulping quietly, noting the seriousness of his tone. Uma looked to Sarah, who was taking another sip from the wine goblet. "If you're ready, m'lady?" Uma asked, eager to show the lady to her room.

Sarah looked at Jareth as she handed the wine goblet back to him. "Thank you again, I really appreciate it." She said, her emerald gaze boring in to his mismatched one.

Jareth nodded, accepting the goblet from her. "It is nothing, Precious. Uma will show you to the rooms and help see to your needs. In the meantime, try to relax. We will figure out what is going on soon." He said, his tone softening only for her, as his serious expression melted back into a smile. "Should you need me…?"

Sarah rose from the bed as he spoke, and she met his smile with her own as he used a familiar phrase. "I'll call." She replied, walking towards the door, to follow Uma.

Uma turned and began to walk through the sitting room towards the main door to the King's chambers.

Sarah glanced one more time at Jareth as she reached the door to his bedchamber and was met with a gentle smile. She returned his smile again, with her own and walked out of the room, following Uma.

As soon as Jareth heard the main door of his rooms shut, he gestured with his hand and the door to his bedchamber shut itself with a snap. He sat up, pulled his knees to his chest, and put his head in his hands as he rested them on his knees, letting his hair fall around his face. There was so much that wasn't said, and he wasn't sure how Sarah was going to take it when he told her everything. But right now, he was going to let her have some time to herself, and he would discuss all the important things over supper. It was a mess and half, but there wasn't much he could do about it now. Jareth rose from the bed and with a wave of his hand, cleaned and dressed himself in a fresh pair of tight-fitting black leggings, a deep mauve tunic which hung open loosely in the front, and a pair of clean boots. He ran his hand through his hair, and it was instantly clean as well. He flexed his fingers in a pair of black gloves that had appeared over his hands and walked over to the mirror that stood next to his armoire. Once he decided that his appearance was adequate, he departed his bedchambers, his next task set in his mind.

Uma led Sarah out of the King's chambers and to a door that just a few steps down the long hallway from his. The goblin hesitated and looked up at Sarah. "You have to open the door, m'lady. Just a touch will do." She rasped, gesturing to the door.

Sarah looked at the door and placed a hand on the middle of the door. After a moment, the door warmed underneath her hand and swung open slowly.

As soon the door was fully open, Uma walked through, beckoning Sarah to follow her.

Sarah walked through the doorway and noticed that the chambers were set up in the same fashion and furniture style of Jareth's but with subtle differences. The color scheme was of hues of deep greens and browns, which matched suspiciously with Sarah's eyes and hair. Sarah put that thought on the back burner for the moment as she followed Uma to another door that was along the wall.

"Lady Sarah, you'll need the same gesture for this door as well." Uma replied, looking from the door to Sarah expectantly.

Sarah nodded and copied the same movement on the door as the first one. Again, after a moment, the door warmed under her palm and it swung open slowly.

Uma stepped through as Sarah followed. The bedchamber was built in a similar fashion to Jareth's, with the same color scheme of greens and browns from the sitting room. To Sarah, it was a palace compared to the tiny apartment she owned aboveground. Uma turned to Sarah, clearly enjoying the pleasant look on Sarah's face as she watched Sarah examine the room around her. "His majesty said to see to your needs. What do you need, Lady Sarah?" She rasped out good-naturedly.

Sarah was surprised at the cheerfulness of the female goblin, but replied none the less, "It's just Sarah. And um, I had asked him about having a bath." Sarah looked down at her worn clothes and pulled at one of the holes in her shirt. "And maybe something to wear. Please." She asked, timidly.

Uma nodded and directed Sarah over to a door that was near the armoire. She opened the door and stood back to let Sarah step inside first.

As Sarah entered, she was bewildered at the sight of the bathroom. It was almost as enormous as the bedchamber. It was decorated in deep blue, almost black, swirled with white marble that was accented with gold filigree décor. It had a moderately high ceiling that was covered it what looked like stars that swirled and twinkled with their own light. There was a wall-length countertop/mirror with all sorts of pots, containers, brushes, and combs upon it. In one corner there was a square shower that was fully enclosed by glass-like walls and from what Sarah could tell, it might hold up to 3 or 4 people at a time. Her eyes roamed along the walls as she noticed the ornate shelves which held a vast assortment of different sized towels and sponges. She stared in amazement at the bathtub, which took up most of the room, was designed like the roman-style baths, complete with a waterfall coming out of one of the walls. Along the edges of the bath sat a multitude of bottles with different colored glass and stoppers. Sarah's mind reeled at the exquisiteness of it all and turned to Uma. "I guess I will have a soak then." She said, still mystified by the elegance of the bathroom.
