"Ugh," Whirlwind grunted. He was still wrapped in bandages from all the pecking and clawing Kessy and Tobias did to him. They didn't have proper medicine at the Hollow Kingdom, so they would just wrap themselves in cloth and hope they don't get sick by infection. Right now, Whirlwind was sore. He moaned and groaned as he went down the steps of the dark hallway of the castle of the Dark Dream King. "Do we have to go see him?" He asked. "You do realize what he'll do to us, right?"

"Just keep walking." Hurricane grunted. He was in no mood for his partner's whimpering. As far as the king told them, they had to come to the castle right away.

Whirlwind can never understand why he would always get paired with Hurricane. His partner was mean and just heartless. As for himself, he found the comfort in the missions they get. Their kingdom was abysmal. Empty. Barely anything to eat. In the other kingdoms, there was always so much color and yummy stuff. Warm sun. Cool, clear water. He had to admit, he was starting to miss the Hundred Acre Wood. That yellow bear and his friends were a lot of fun. Even if they were annoying and pummeled him. Then, he thought of an idea. "Hey," He said with a sly smile crept on his face. "Have you got word or seen your girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend?" Hurricane asked. His brow arched at that remark. "What are you talking about, Whirlwind?"

"Well...You've spent a lot of time in the Golden Desert. Most of the time, you would be where that queen is. What's her name again? Sandkisser?" Whirlwind puckered his lips. "Big lips? Eyelashes?"

"Sandwisher! Her name is Sandwisher! She's a camel and a dangerous fighter. Her lips aren't that big and her eyelashes aren't made for flirting even if they are pretty!" Hurricane stopped. His ears flattened.

"HA!" Whirlwind laughed. "I knew it! You LOOOOOOVVVE her! Hurricane has a girlfriend! Hurricane has a girlfriend!" He continued chanting as he ran down the hall with his partner in tow. His pain forgotten. Talons clicking the black stone.

"What is the meaning of this nonsense?!" A deep voice roared.

Whirlwind screeched to a halt. His wings outstretched to balance him. Hurricane hitting his back with a heavy whump. Pain radiating along his back. He muffled his scream to look up at the red eyes of the Dark Dream King. He knows his king hated anything joyful. Even mere humming would put him in a bad mood. "J-Just making a mention of H-H-H-Hurricane's missions at the Golden Desert and his fights with the queen." He swallowed hard. The long-eared chimera gulped hard. His heart hammering in his chest.

"Forget your petty squabbles!" The king hissed. He glared hard in the darkness of his throne. Even though his body couldn't be seen, but Hurricane and Whirlwind could his immense size shifting. "I have a mission for you. You must spy on this 'Pooh' and his miserable friends." A red orb materialized before the two Chimeras. "Make sure you have this on you. Don't lose it. Stay hidden until I plan the next move." He produced a large whoosh of wind, dismissing them.

"What about the-" Whirlwind was caught off by Hurricane and dragged out of the hallway.

Hurricane sighed. "Whirlwind when will you ever learn to keep your mouth shut when it comes to these things." He flew away from his 'companion'. He never really understood why of all the chimeras, he had to be the one to be paired with Whirlwind. He was better off alone. That was what he's ever known all his life. Work hard or get eaten. Not that there's much to eat except dead plants and fungus. Until one day, a baby Whirlwind got stuck training with him and they had been together since. When he got the chance to finally get out of the Hallow Realm, his first assignment was to explore the caravans in the Golden Desert. That was where he first laid eyes on Queen Sandwisher.

Though she was a camel, she moved with grace. Even with a saber in her mouth, she was the fiercest warrior in the world. She could run and swing her head hard. Her amber eyes turning gold at the sight of dawn. What surprised him most is how sad she was. Even though most of the Starlight Kingdom are happy and cheerful, Sandwisher would just look weary and depressed whenever he saw her. He only saw her laugh once and it was when a meerkat got catapulted out of a tree and landed on a tumbleweed.

Suddenly, he shook himself. He had to focus on what was important. The mission was to learn more about Pooh and his friends. If they are a threat to their kind, then they must be eliminated.

Just a small blurb of Whirlwind and Hurricane. Thought it would be nice to see where they go from here. Don't worry, I get back to Pooh and friends in the next chapter.
