"Here Raizen eat as much as you want you too Sora" Yoko sakaki said as she served us breakfast.
"Thanks for the food""Thanks" Sora and I said as we dug in.
"Huh Raizen what are you doing here so early in the morning and you're here too" he said as he gave a stink eye towards sora.
"Now Now Yuya you musn't be rude to our guests" Yoko said as she gave sora another serving.
I was mostly full so I didn't want to be present for what followed next. Plus I had made plans for today.
"Mom you should stop just inviting everyone you meet especially him" he said pointing to sora.
"Well me and Raizen talked a bit yesterday and after hearing his situation with food I asked him to drop in to eat if he felt like. When he came today I also noticed Sora so I invited him too" She said.
"I'm thankful for the help so when will you be able to give me those lessons?" I asked.
"Lessons? Are you talking about Duel Lessons? Is teacher's mother also a duelist?" Sora asked.
"Haha the lessons I'm teaching aren't for dueling" she replied.
"When we spoke yesterday after dinner I spoke of my interest in bikes and Yoko said she'd give me a few tips" I answered.
"Why do you want to learn to ride a bike?" Yuya asked confused.
"To make it a hobby I guess. I've gotten somewhat bored with dueling being my main source of entertainment" I answered.
"Don't you have school too though?" Yuya asked me.
"Me? Nah I was somehow forced to enter the school that day I don't really go to school here. My school is on vacation" I bluffed.
"That's fine then I guess I'll leave for school" Yuya says as he heads out after taking his school bag.
I saw sora also heading out.
"So you're going after him?" I asked sora.
"That's the plan I need him to accept me as his apprentice" he replied.
"Well good luck out there then kid" I said waving as he left.
That was pretty stupid of me talking to a spy so casually. But not talking would be more suspicious I guess.
"Let me just finish up some chores then we can head to the garage. You can turn the t.v. on if you'd like" she spoke.
"Sure" I said switching the tv on.
I surfed the channels but there wasn't anything that I considered interesting. Until I stopped on a peculiar channel.
"Akaba Reiji" I said.
The tv showed a young Reiji battling in some sort of tournament. This was apparently the last match.
"D/D/D Flame King Genghis direct attack" As he said that his opponent's LP fell to zero.
I turned the tv off expecting Yoko to have been done with her work. I stared into space going over the events that led me to arrive here but it all turned to a blank.
'STOP!'
I clutched my head. Thinking about it seemed to be a waste of time so I got up and headed to the direction of the garage.
I stood in front of the garage door waiting for her.
"Oh I'm done. Let's get going" Yoko said as she opened the garage remotely.
I looked in awe as I saw the number of bikes that were present. But that awe didn't last long as I would come to realize that I was in for a hellish ride. With a demon of an instructor.
"Ithinkwe'regoingabittoofast" I quickly said as we were approaching impressive speeds.
"Nonsense we're going pretty slow right now. Increase your pace I'll show you what's speed" She said as her ride went even faster.
"I'm not gonna be outdone here by an ex-biker gang member" I said increasing my speed.
"Guess you've got some guts then come on show me what you got" she said speeding into the distance.
"You asked for this" I said matching her speed.
We rode for a long time as I desperately tried to get ahead of Yoko. On the last stretch I finally managed.
"I win phew" I say as I begin to slow down as we were approaching Yuya's place.
"It wasn't a competition you know. But well you seem to have a good handle on that ride have you ever ridden one before?" she asked.
"I might have rode something similar.." I replied as we finally reached the garage.
"Thanks for the help I'll be sure to come again to ride sometime" I said.
"Sure feel free to ask me again" she said.
"Is yuya back yet?" I ask.
"It doesn't seem like it the door was locked when I checked" she replied.
'I guess I'll check at yuusho's duel academy'
I wave yoko goodbye as I head towards the direction of the duel academy. It was a minimum 10 minute walk with me easily closing the distance due to sprinting.
"Should I just enter I don't think I've ever been in here?" I say to myself.
Well I couldn't waste time just standing around. So I just let my thoughts settle and pushed the door open.
'It's strange that the door was left open, well they're probably inside'
Coming here was probably not the best use of my time but I had to deepen our bonds or something similar to that. Also I was planning on joining yuusho duel school so i'd have an excuse to meddle. Being an outsider did have it's advantages but I felt like I had to join either of the two schools.
'And yuusho's was the cheaper option'
I came across Sora and Yuya who were engaged in an action bystanders didn't notice me yet so I just blended into the crowd as the duel proceeded.
One of the three kids managed to notice.
"Raizen?" Yuzu said.
"Yep it's me" I said.
"You know this boy yuzu?" Her father asked her.
"Yeah he helped us when that whole fiasco took place at LDS" she replied.
"A duelist! Are you here to join our dueling school? Of course we'll be glad to have you the fees is right-" He wanted to say more but he was hit by yuzu's fan.
"Stop embarassing us Dad" Yuzu said.
"Nah It's fine Yuzu, no need for any violence. I do admit that I did have the intention of joining" I said.
"That seems unlikely. I hate to admit it but we don't really have the best equipment for teaching or dueling" she said.
"Yuzu.." Her father said.
"I don't really need any help anyway and the equipment seems...decent at least. Well the main reason I wanted to join was Yuya" I said.
"Yuya?" Yuzu said confused.
"Yeah those cards really are special. When we duel though some cards won't be able to bridge the gap between us. Anyway sign me up for Yuusho's" I said.
Yuzu seemed a bit on edge from what I said but other than her everyone else was more or less happy with me joining.
"Come with me here's your admission slip" He said walking me over to a desk.
I filled in the details as best as I could creating what looked to be the perfect backstory.
"Raizen Arashi all the documents seem to be in order. Now all you need is to pay the fees" he said.
I took a wallet from my pocket from which I gave him the necessary amount. The money I had gained from bets I had placed during the match between strong and yuya left me with a couple extra cash.
When we went back to the others Yuya and Sora seemed to be talking with them. I guess the match between them had been done.
"So who won?" I asked as Yuzu's father and I walked towards them.
"It was Yuya" Sora said somewhat disappointed but his face quickly cleared up.
"Well now I'll atleast be free from all the teacher nonsense" Yuya said.
"Well I can just be your friend then Yuya" Sora said.
"But-""Now hold on Yuya after that fiery hot duel ofcourse you're friends" Syuzo said interrupting Yuya.
"Students of duel schools are equals after all so what do you say interested in joining?" he asked Sora.
"Of course Yuusho is way more exciting than LDS" Sora said.
"I mirror that sentiment" I said.
"Wait Raizen does that mean you're joining too?" Yuya asked.
"Well I already did, Yuya you up for a duel?" I replied.
"Haha Not today i'm already tired from the duel I had today" he replied.
"Well next time then" I said leaving.
"Wait that's all you came for?"Yuya asked.
"Yeah, I gotta go over my strategies in getting ready for the maiami championship. Maybe that's where our match will take place" I said walking out the door.
"He's a strange dude" Yuya said.
