A blue overlay unit gets consumed as a veil of water restricts Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon.

"Another win under my belt" I say as I look to the sky.

Today was the day of the tournament so I was getting some last minute practice in by dueling Yuto.

"Well it does seem like you're improving" Ruri said coming up to the two of us.

"I'd hope so. At least I finally managed to defeat the both of you. With that I don't think I should have any problems in the tournament except with Shun"

"Guess you're confident. Well we'll be cheering for you" Yuto said.

"Thanks,I guess I gotta go now" I said as I saw Shun approaching me.

"Good luck Raizen," Ruri said.

I nodded as I began walking over to Shun.

"Ready?"

"Yeah"

"Then let's go"

After finding ourselves in the stadium where the duels were taking place I buckled down and relaxed while Shun seemed to check up on every detail.

"What's wrong Shun? You seem to be looking around a lot"

"Nothing. It's just that Akaba Reiji told me that there is a fusion duelist in this tournament"

'When did he get in contact with Reiji? Guess it doesn't really matter'

"A fusion duelist. Yeah we should be on guard"

"I think I'll go out and get some fresh air before the ceremony begins,"I continued.

"Fine"

I walk outside the room I was in and begin looking around until I come face to face with almost the entirety of Yusho.

"Raizen!" Everybody from Yusho says.

Well except Yuya who wasn't present there.

Though that wasn't the surprising part.

"Natsume? What are you doing here?" I asked, surprised.

Is this my fault for changing the story or something.

"Various things happened and I entered this tournament. Then again where were you all this time? I still need to get a rematch for last time"

"I got caught up with something you could say-" I stopped speaking as I looked at the children clinging to me.

"Raizen-oniichan" Ayu and Futoshi said.

"Why are you guys clinging to me?" I said in confusion.

"They're just really happy to see you," Yuzu said.

I tried getting them off but they weren't budging. Sighing, I ignored them and began to speak.

"So where's Yuya? Assuming you all came for the miami championship shouldn't he also be here?"

"Yeah we were searching for Yuya! Have you seen him anywhere Raizen?" Yuzu asked.

Well I know where he is…

"Sadly I don't I have" -I said as I pried off the kids from on top of me- "Since we're in the tournament I don't think we'll get to talk much. So when the tournament's over I think we'll be able to discuss things through"

"Or the alternative if we are matched in the tournament and you defeat me. Well then I'll have to spill things then" I said.

Well it's not like this tournament actually matters but maybe this might make them take their duels a bit more seriously. This is more for their sake then mine.

As much as I'd like to hangout with them I can't even if this makes me seem like i'm hiding something.

Saying all that I left them alone.

As the opening ceremony goes under way Shun and I follow Masumi, Yaiba and Hokuto.

I kept my face bereft of any emotions as I appeared before the crowd. But I could see the stares of everyone from Yusho.

'Damn their stares hurt'

I wish I could have explained things better. Well I'll at least try to give them some sort of explanation in the future.

After Yuya gave the duelists pledge I took my registration card and put it into my duel disk.

Hayate Motoki.

Never heard of the guy before so this shouldn't be too hard.

I walked up to Shun.

"So who's your opponent Shun"

"Sora Shiun'in"

As I expected it seems like Reiji is in control of all the battles that take place. If that's the case then I should take the battle coming my way seriously.

"Raizen you joined LID? Why?" Yuya said as he came up to me.

He then stared at Shun for a while before Shun decided to leave.

"Yeah well things happened, just know that i'm on your side"

"Well I guess I'll choose to believe it for now. Leaving that aside, that person who you were just talking to is dangerous you should stay away from him"

"I'll keep that in mind" I said as I began walking away before the others caught up to me.

After finding myself in a spot free of any distractions I checked my duel disk again.

'So the match is in about an hour'

I had some time to kill since I felt like my deck had already been prepared enough for this.

As I lounged around on the bench I saw a gray haired individual approach me.

"Akaba Reiji"

"Raizen. Your match is scheduled soon. What are you doing here?" He said as he adjusted his glasses.

"Nothing much just I needed some peace and quiet for a chose our opponents for the tournament didn't you?" I said

"Now that's a pretty serious accusation to make. You seem pretty sharp but let's see if your dueling ability matches your intellect" Reiji said as he left with a smile on his face.

'Sure Reiji I can show you that I'm just as good as the other Xyz duelists from my dimension'

Following Reiji's leave I too left since my match was on the verge of beginning though before leaving I paid Hokuto a visit.

"This card, why do you want it?" Hokuto said.

Masumi and Yaiba were engaged in a duel behind him.

"It just works well in my deck Is what I feel and you would almost never use it in yours, right?" I replied.

"I guess it's fine since we're on the same team. Though be sure to return it to me when I ask for it"

"Yeah I'll do that. Woah I'm late gotta go" I said as I ran to the stage.

The crowd began to gather as Nico walked up to the mike.

"Now let's begin our first match with Raizen from the Leo Institute of dueling against Hayate Motoki from Soaring Skies Academy. This is the first time we've seen Raizen duel but he is from LDS so that must mean something. Hayate on the other hand has dueled in a couple of competitions even winning some" he continued.

"Now let us see who among these two is going to take the first win of the day. Action Field Spell:Stratagem Valley !"

"Duelists locked in battle!" I said.

"Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Hayate said.

"They storm through this field" The crowd echoed.

"Behold this is the newest and greatest evolution of dueling!Action Duel" Both of us say as we end the chant.

"Ok then my turn. Draw!" I said.

"Since you control a monster I can special summon General Wayne of the ice barrier"

A warrior with blue armor and a blade appeared.

"Since I special summoned General Wayne I get to add once Ice barrier spell or trap from my deck. I choose medallion of the ice barrier" I say as I place the card in my hand.

"Then I set a monster. Battle Phase! General Wayne attacks your face down monster"

The attack went swiftly as his facedown was destroyed.

"Gusto Eguls effect activates. When it's sent to the graveyard I can special summon a level 4 or lower non tuner monster from my deck. I special summon Pilica descendent of gusto" Hayate said.

"When Pilica is special summoned I get to special summon a tuner from my graveyard come back Gusto Egul"

"I now tune my level 3 Gusto Gulldo with my Level 3 Pilica. Swift controller of winds, the one whose presence blends into nature. Synchro Summon! Level 6 Daigusto Sphreez"

"It seems we have our first extra deck summon in the tournament folks. A synchro summon" Nico announced to the crowd.

"At this moment Gusto Gulldos effect activates, letting me special summon a level 2 monster from my deck.I special summon Winda priestess of gusto . I also activate sphreez's effect allowing me to add Pilica back to my hand from the grave"

"I now tune level 1 Gusto Egul with my Level two Winda. Feared Beard of prey come forth and tear your opponent's to shreds. Synchro summon! Level 3 Mist Bird Clausolas"

He jumps up on Clausolas as they fly around the arena.

"Another Synchro summon in the same turn! As expected from Hayate but this monster seems to have no attack points" Nico said.

"What it lacks in attack points it's effect can compensate. Once per turn I can reduce my opponent's monster's attack to zero and also negate that monsters effects"

A gust of wind hit General Wayne as his attack began to drop.

Seeing General Wayne's attack drop I began searching for action cards.

"It's phase! Daigusto Sphreez attacks General Wayne I also activate my trap card Dust storm of Gusto which prevents my opponent from activating cards and effects when monsters with Gusto in their name battle"

As I finally found the action card General Wayne was destroyed.

"Gah"

Raizen 4000-2000=2000LP

But it was too late.

"Amazing Hayate managed to halve his opponent's life points in a single turn" Nico commented.

"That's all. I end my turn"

"Can Raizen comeback in the game after losing his monster and half his life points while his opponent controls two monsters stay tuned to find out"

I stood up recovering from the attack that I had previously taken.

"Of course I can. Draw!"

"I flip over over my facedown monster:Nightmare Penguin"

"Nightmare Penguin's effect activates, when it's flipped face up I get to return one card on the field back to your hand or the extra deck. I choose Daigusto Sphreez"

"Then I summon:Deep sea diva. Summoning Diva allows me to special summon a level 3 or lower sea serpent from my deck, I special summon Atlantean Heavy infantry"

"Now I tune my level 2 Diva with my level 4 Nightmare Penguin. Furious Oceanic dragon who drifts across the reefs and coral leaving vortexes of destruction in its wake. Synchro Summon! Appear Lvl 6 Coral Dragon"

I jumped on Coral dragon as it swam through the air.

"Coral Dragons effect activates I discard a card to destroy a card my opponent controls I choose Mist Bird Clausolas"

"I activate an action spell:Hiding in plain sight. This allows me to flip a monster I control face down and draw one card" hayate said as he pulled a card. At that moment Clausolas's hologram began to disappear and Hayate jumped onto the ground.

"Since my card was flipped face down Coral Dragon's effect has no target"

"It looks like Hayate should be able to stave off any damage coming his way as Coral Dragon is the only card that can attack " Nico said.

"That won't happen. I normal summon another Diva thanks to Heavy Infantry's effect. Diva's effect allows me to summon a sea serpent I special summon Atlantean Pikeman"

"Now I tune my level 2 Diva with my level 2 Heavy Infantry and Level 2 Pikeman. Pure White Dolphin, lend me your aid. Synchro Summon! Appear Lvl6 White Aura Dolphin"

"Battle Phase I attack with Coral Dragon"

Coral Dragon swam forward and destroyed Hayate's Facedown.

"Now White Aura Dolphin Attack directly"

White Aura Dolphin struck Hayate who was running away.

"Ugh"
