" I end my turn.I'd like to see you make a comeback so go on," I said, passing my turn.

This battle was basically over.

"I draw," Hayate said as he grabbed his card.

"I summon Pilica who's effect allows me to special summon a tuner from the grave. I special summon Gusto Gulldo and once more synchro summon Daigusto Sphreez"

"Using Sphreez's effect I once again add Pilica to my hand and using Gulldo's effect I special summon Gusto Falco from the deck in defense position. I also activate the spell card Contract with Gusto to shuffle Gusto Egul and Daigusto Sphreez back to the deck to destroy your coral Dragon"

Coral dragon shattered into chunks as it was overwhelmed by inscriptions on its body.

"When Coral Dragon is destroyed I get to draw a card" I say grabbing a card from my deck.

"Battle phase I attack White Aura Dolphin with Daigusto Sphreez"

"What is Hayate doing attacking a monster with a higher attack?" Nico shouted comically as he clutched his mic.

'There obviously is a reason Nico I'm sure my opponent will reveal that soon'

"When Daigusto Sphreez attacks my opponent takes all the damage"

Raizen 2000-400=1600LP

"Also Daigusto Sphreez cannot be destroyed by battle. I end my turn"

"How will Raizen deal damage to Hayate now with all his attacks dealing him the damage" Nico announced.

'This might become a problem if I let him gain any more advantage'

"I draw"- I looked to the card I drew- "hopefully this should be over fast"

"I set a monster. Battle phase I attack Gusto Falco with White Aura Dolphin"

Dolphin smashes through Falco, shattering it.

"I set one card and end my turn"

"If that's all I'm going to be taking over now. I draw!"

Turn 7

"You know the deal I summon Pilica and use its effect to summon Gusto Gulldo to synchro summon another Daigusto Sphreez adding Pilica to my hand once more by its effect. Also Gulldo's effect allows me to special summon Gusto Egul in defense position from my deck."

'This was what I feared would happen'

"Battle Phase! I attack your White Aura Dolphin with both my Digusto Sphreez"

"Another turn and Raizen won't be able to survive. Is the match finally decided? Stay tuned to find out"

"Well I need to hope this next draw counts, don't I. Draw!"

"I actually lied. The card that would lead me to victory is already set" I said.

"Is that so then show me?" Hayate asked.

"I flip over the monster I set last turn"

"What is that monster going to do against my Daigusto Sphreez, it doesn't have the attack points to be capable of doing any damage"

"I guess you've forgotten"

"What?"

"Like the Nightmare Penguin from before this penguin also has a special effect that allows me to return two monsters you control to the hand. So away with those two Daigusto Sphreez"

A wave rushed at the Daigusto Sphreez as they were cleared from the field.

"Seems like I'm beat," Hayate said with a hint of a smile.

It seemed too soon to give up. He didn't seem to be in any rush to get any action cards. There must be a trick up his sleeves.

The only monster present on his field is Gusto Egul. I probably should get rid of it before the battle phase. Luckily I have just the cards.

"I discard Mermail Abysslinde to special summon White Stingray. I also normal summon Geomancer of the ice barrier"

"Geomancer of the Ice barrier is a it comes! Now I tune my level 3 Geomancer of the ice barrier with my level 4 White stingray to perform a final synchro summon. Frigid chilling Tundra, Cold Icy Dragon, escape your prison and eradicate! Synchro Summon! Lvl 7 Gungnir Dragon of the ice barrier!"

Gungnir hit the field as a blizzard began to spread around the field. Which after a few seconds began to subside.

"Time to finish this! I activate Gungnir's effect by discarding a card from my hand. I get to destroy a monster on your Hell!"

Gungnir shot a frigid roar which shattered Gusto Egul.

Seeing his Field empty Hayate began running around the field in a frantic hurry.

"I won't let this chance slip away. Battle phase! Gungnir attacks you Revelation!"

Gungnir shot a number of Icicles towards Hayate who despite his best efforts couldn't outrun it.

I heaved a sigh of relief as the action field dissipated.

The first challenge was done with.

"And with that display of technique and power Raizen has taken the this win he proceeds to the next round"

I began to walk down the arena as the sound of hands clapping surrounded me.

Looking to the crowd I managed to catch Natsume watching the match. The others probably were checking out the kids matches.

When she noticed me looking at her she could probably sense the awkwardness.

I turned away and continued walking down. Words weren't going to help me deal with this.

"Good job out there. I almost expected you to lose and me to be the only one carrying this contract forward" Shun said leaning against the wall.

."I'm sure you could handle it alone. Though I won't be losing any time soon. Let's meet at the finals where I'll win this entire tournament" I said as I began to walk away.

"Guess you're confident, just be vigilant. I have a bad feeling about things" Shun said as he went the opposite direction.

As I walked out of the alley I caught sight of pink in the distance.

"Yuzu, you're not that good at hiding you know," I said.

"Uhh *sigh* I didn't expect you would notice" She said stepping forward.

"I'm guessing you were trying to listen in on our conversation. You didn't blurt out the information we told you already did you?"

"No I haven't. I don't even know whether I believe it all to be true"

"Well don't stress about it too much I'm guessing your match is the one coming up next right?"

"Yeah I should be heading back" Yuzu said as she took off.

'Don't stress huh'

In my effort to improve my dueling ability I seem to have neglected my foresight on things to come. Particularly the encounter with Yuri which seems to be a high possibility.

"Agh" I clutched my head.

A memory resurfaced.

On one side was Starving Venom Fusion Dragon with Yuri standing behind it. On my side was a dark beast whose name wasn't coming to mind.

"..u. K... attack Starving Venom Fusion Dragon-"

The memory ended.

I looked around making sure I was still in good shape. That memory resurfacing seemed to make a headache spur on me.

For now I decided to head into the back of the audience and watch the match.

The match went as I expected with Yuzu winning. Nothing new there.

So things were still the same.

That should be a good thing at least for now until the time to act arrives.

"Ugh" I clutched my head once more.

The headache didn't seem to be going away.

Luckily my match for the day had been done and I seemed to be free for a certain amount of time.

'Guess I need to head to a hospital to get checked'

After somehow getting in contact with Reiji he sent someone to escort me to the hospital.

The doctor did a number of tests. He told me everything was fine but I could stay overnight if I was still feeling sick. So I decided to do that.

When I finally hit the bed I fell asleep.

"...your body is mine"

Staying the night did seem to ease up things but since I didn't really have anything else to do until my next match I decided to wait at the hospital.

It wasn't as boring as I thought it would be since all the patients around knew I was in the tournament from the broadcast.

Which led to me getting a bunch of challenges.

"With my level 3 Fishborg archer and level 4 fishborg doctor I synchro summon Gungnir Dragon of the Ice barrier" I said placing the card on the floor.

I didn't want to use my dueling desk taking into account the fact that my opponents didn't have one and also the fact that my synchro summons could cause problems.

"Using Gungnir's effect I discard three cards to destroy three cards on the field. I choose Crashbug X, Crashbug Y and Crashbug Hell!"

"Then I activate Mermail Abyssneri's effect and destroy Mermail Abysslinde in my hand to increase Gungnir's attack"

"Now with Gungnir I attack you revelation. And that's all for today"I said as I began picking my cards up.

"That's too bad we had fun playing with you"

"Come visit again"

"Win that tournament Raizen"

The kids said one by one.

"Yeah sure maybe" I gave some vague promises as I left after a suspicious person.

"So the doctor's plan worked," Sora said as he looked at me.

"The doctor's plan? What are you talking about?" I asked.

"So you're still you huh? Why did you follow me down here? Did you think you could take me on xyz scum?"

With Ruri not being kidnapped Yuto didn't come here to confront Sora. So that means we're alone.

Why did I come here? That's a tough question to answer. But it seems like Sora knows about me. This doctor's plan is particularly interesting information.

"If you win I'll let you have your rematch with Shun. But if I win you need to let this Doctor's plan slip, Deal?"

"Sure Deal. I think it's about time I showed you your place"

"I'd love to know where my place is"

We both activated our duel disks.

"I'm going first. I set a monster. I set a card. I end my turn" I said.

"My turn I draw. I activate Polymerization and send Fluffal penguin and Edge imp tomahawk from my hand to the graveyard. Monster that drags its victims into the depths of the ocean. Fusion Summon! Appear Lvl 8 Frightfur Kraken"

"Since I used Fluffal penguin to fusion summon I get to draw two cards but have to discard one .I also summon Fluffal Leo. Battle Phase! I attack your facedown with Frightfur Kraken"

Frightfur Kraken sends its tentacles towards my monster destroying it.

"The monster you just destroyed was nimble sunfish. When it's destroyed I get to send a fish monster from my deck to the graveyard. I send Fishborg archer. Then I can special summon another one which I'll do in defense position"

"My Kraken's effect allows it to attack once more. Go Frightfur Kraken attack nimble sunfish"

With Kraken's attack nimble sunfish went to the grave.

"Nimble sunfish's effect allows me to send a fish monster from the deck to the grave I send Fishborg Planter. Since I have no more Nimble sunfish in my deck it's second effect doesn't activate"

"Finally go Fluffal leo attack Raizen directly. Fluffal leo's attack increases by 600 points when it attacks"

"Gahh!"

I could feel the shockwave from the attack hit me as my life points dropped.

"How did you like that you xyz scum. This is me being serious. If you can't handle it surrender right now"

I stood up and dusted my shirt.

"Surrender? I don't even need to consider that. Since everything so far has gone my way"

"That's a bluff"

"Well how about I prove that it's not. Draw!"

"I activate the effect of the fishborg archer in my graveyard. By discarding Fishborg Doctor I special summon it to the field"

"Then I activate the effect of Fishborg Planter by excavating the top card of my deck".-I reveal White Stingray- "I can special summon fishborg planter"

"And Finally I activate the effect of fishborg doctor to special summon it to the field"

"What will you do with those three weak monsters? They aren't even the same level to xyz summon"

"You must not have watched my match today otherwise you would've known that I don't consider xyz to be my speciality. It's actually synchro-"

"Synchro summon"

"Yes if you count the three monsters on my field it should be clear the level of the monster I'm me for over explaining but I don't think you've heard much about synchro"

"I know enough. So a level 9 what good will that do"

"You wish it was any level 9. This card is special. I didn't think I would need to reveal it right strongest Dragon"

"Don't waste my time talking about it. How about you get on with the duel and we'll see how powerful this dragon of yours is"

"I tune my level 3 Fishborg Archer with my level 4 Fishborg Doctor and my level 2 Fishborg planter-"
