The LDS institute, a dueling school which produced the highest caliber duelists in the city.
Unlike my last arrival the place was completely silent due to it being late.
We walked into an office and took a seat as Reiji went and took his own seat.
"So where do I begin?" He asks Yuya.
"We can start with sora, what happened to him?" Yuya said as he stared at Reiji.
"Sora retreated back to the fusion dimension after he lost a duel against Raizen, though I'm sure you don't know much about what I'm talking about" Reiji said as he stood up.
"There are 4 dimensions Standard which we are in, fusion,synchro and xyz. The two people in dark clothes you see are from the xyz dimension" Reiji said as he pointed at Yuto and Shun.
"The fusion dimension attacked the xyz dimension but we somehow managed to survive. The conflict still continues back home…" Shun said.
"So you're telling me that sora is the enemy, I- what about you Raizen what's your story?" Yuya asked.
"I'm also from the xyz dimension but I seem to have undergone some form of amnesia on my way to this dimension. You can take some time to think things over Yuya. I'm sure you'll need it" I said as I patted his shoulder.
"Yeah all this seems too surreal and I'm not even sure why you look like me and our dragons apparently fought against each other... I'll see you later Raizen" Yuya said as he left the room.
"You two can head to bed as well. I need to talk to Raizen about his dragon" Reiji said.
"Sure" Yuto said
"When you're done, swing by my room," Shun said to me.
The two of them walked out and closed the door.
"Are you giving me some sort of punishment?" I asked.
"No, since the damage caused wasn't permanent it's fine. I just wanted to scan your dragon and enter it in the system which should help me create variants of it if they exist and maybe I can find a way to help you stabilise the card" Reiji said.
"That's fine, here" I say, handing the card over.
"Just take a seat it should take about a minute" He said as he took a device similar to a scanner and ran it over the front and back of the card.
"Here I'm done" he said as he handed the card back to me.
I accepted the card and placed it back where I previously kept it.
"Ok then, Good night Raizen I'll be counting on your assistance in the future"
"Yeah that's fine"
I step out of the room and take the elevator down to the lower floors where our rooms were situated.
I knocked on Shun's and Ruri's room's door and waited for a while. I could hear a decent amount of chatter from inside.
The door opened after a few seconds and I stepped in.
"So what were you guys talking about?" I said as I took a seat on Ruri's bed and turned to the three of them.
"We were just telling Ruri about what happened today? I didn't know you had a strange card like that" Shun said as he folded his hands.
"Yeah it surprised me too seeing Trishula go out of control like that, that's why Reiji told me not to use it for a while" I said.
"That seems wise. Leaving that aside, what happened to you out there Yuto" Shun asked Yuto who was sitting next to him.
"I really have no clue...I just had this desire to battle Yuya, that person who looks like me" Yuto said after thinking for a few seconds
"It's strange that there's someone that looks just like you Yuto, I'd like to see that" Ruri said.
'Too bad you probably won't be able to Ruri' I thought.
Luckily Ruri wasn't around earlier otherwise defeating my rogue dragon would have just been impossible.
"So anything else or should I just head to bed?" I asked as I leaned back, stretched my hands and yawned.
"No, you two can head to bed. The tournament is still on so get some rest" Shun said.
"Yeah see you two later" I said as I walked out of the room.
Yuto followed me a few seconds later and we began walking to our room.
"Are you alright? You seem kinda tense" I said without making eye contact.
"Physically, yes, but mentally I don't really know. I didn't tell Shun this but there was this strange voice in my head that was saying some strange things. Hopefully it's just the exhaustion of this whole mission catching up" Yuto said as he continued forward.
"Don't worry if you start acting up I'll duel you to submission" I said as I smirked.
"Hah, glad to hear that" Yuto said as we reached our room.

Yuto took a break from dueling after the incident that took place leading me to practice with Ruri since Shun was hardly around.
My second duel was in a few days so I needed to improve my skills before that. The problem was fighting against a single opponent helped me specialize against them but not exactly improve.
So I now had an edge against Ruri's techniques but it wasn't anything generally applicable plus her deck with level 1 monsters was pretty unique.
So after one last battle against her I left for the city to find some duels. I had one day remaining before the battle.
While I did manage to get some battles in the city, they weren't very helpful so I came back to LDS where I assumed I would get a challenge.

I watched Hokuto duel against his fellow Lds classmate, Masumi, which ended in a draw.
After the duel was over I walked on over to the three of them.
"Are any of you up for another duel?" I asked.
"You're the one who took my card, I'm pretty sure if I had constellar ptolemy M6 I could have won against that other guy" Hokuto said as he came up to me.
"Yeah about that, since you're not going to be in the tournament anyway let me keep this card for a little longer" I said as I folded my hands.
"Don't you want to see your dragon delivering the final attack and winning the duel in front of thousands of people" I added.
Hearing that he thought for a while and then nodded.
"Fine you can keep the card, but after this tournament is done I want it back immediately" he said.
"Yeah that's fine, so are you up for a duel?" I asked.
"No I'm done for the day" he said, waving me off.
"How about you two?" I asked as I turned to my two remaining options.
"I'm done too," Masumi said.
"Guess I'm the only one left, I've seen your synchro summons in the tournament and as the leading synchro user of LDS we need to see which one of us is the better synchro user" Yaiba said as he smirked.
"Sure you're on," I said as I walked to the other side of the arena.
We both activated our duel disks.
"I'll take the first turn,draw!" I said.
Turn 1-Raizen
"I set a monster, I set a card. That's all I end my turn" I said.
"I draw," Yaiba said.
Turn 2-Yaiba
"I summon XX-saber boggart knight"
A warrior with a blade materialised with the x saber's signature cape and lustrous armor.
"I activate XX-saber boggart knight's effect which allows me to summon another X-saber, come out X-saber Airbellum"
A humanoid tiger with sharp wolverine-esque claws appeared.
"Then I special summon XX-Saber Faultroll from my hand"
A humanoid warrior with a huge sword materializes.
"Now I tune my X-saber Airbellum with my XX-Saber boggart bladed warrior whose blades can't be shielded against, Synchro summon! Appear Lvl-7 X-Saber Souza"

"But I'm not done yet, I use XX-Saber Faultroll's effect to special summon X-Saber Airbellum from the graveyard"
"And now I tune X-Saber Airbellum with XX-Saber your silver armor shine and crush the hope of everything that opposes you! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 9! XX-Saber Gottoms!"

X-Saber souza slashes at my face down monster and destroys it.
"The monster you just destroyed was mermail abysslinde and it has an effect that allows me to special summon a mermail monster from my deck when it's destroyed. I special summon mermail abysspike'' I said

"Also when mermail abysspike is special summoned I get to discard a water monster to add another level 3 water monster, I discard fishborg archer and add Mermail Abyssnereia to my hand" I said.
"The monster you've summoned isn't too strong so I'll take it out with Gottoms, go silver slash" he said.
My abysspike was defeated but my life points were safe.
"I end my turn"
"Here I go draw!" I said.
Turn-3 Raizen
"I activate fishborg archer's effect to special summon it to the field by discarding atlantean heavy infantry. When Atlantean heavy infantry is discarded to the graveyard for a water monster's effect I can destroy a monster you control, I destroy XX-Saber gottoms"
A corporeal form of atlantean heavy infantry rams into XX-Saber gottoms-
"Not so fast I activate I activate an action spell Guard cover to make your effect target X-Saber souza instead"
The corporeal body of atlantean heavy infantry gets deflected and rams into X-Saber Souza.
"Good thing I'm not done yet. I summon atlantean marksman. Now I tune my level 3 fishborg archer with my level 3 atlantean marksman. Pure white dolphin unfettered by the waves of change, lend me your strength"
"Synchro summon! Appear Lvl 6 White Aura Dolphin"

"Too bad it seems you summoned a monster that doesn't have enough attack points above my gottoms" Yaiba quipped.
"It won't be needing any attack points since I'll be cutting yours down. I activate White Aura Dolphin's effect to halve the attack of your XX-Saber Gottoms" I said.

White Aura Dolphin sent a wave of water that destroyed Gottoms.

"You might think I'm done for but this isn't the end, draw" Yaiba said.
Turn 4-Yaiba
"Since I control no monsters I can special summon XX-Saber Gardestrike , I also normally summon XX-saber Fullhelmknight. I end my turn"
"I thought you'd do more than just summon two monsters.." I said.
"I've already played what I needed," he replied.
"Fine then I'm coming for you, draw!"
Turn 5-Raizen
" I activate the effect of white aura dolphin to halve Fulhelmnight's attack"

"Battle phase! I attack Fullhelmknight with White Aura Dolphin-"
"That attack won't go through, I activate the effect of fulhelmknight to negate your attack" he said.
"Guess I have nothing else to do I end my turn"
"Time for my comeback, I draw!" he said.
Turn 6-Yaiba
"I summon XX-Saber Boggart Knight and activate his effect to special summon XX-Saber Ragigura. Ragigura's effect allows me to add XX-Saber Faultroll to my hand which I'll special summon since I have more than two x sabers on my field"
With the last summon all of Yaiba's monster zones were filled.
"Now I tune my level 1 ragigura with my level 5 of shining Majestic blades, I Synchro summon. Appear Lvl 6 X-Saber Hyunlei
XX-Saber Hyunlei

"XX-Saber Hyunlei's effect activates destroying your single face down spell or trap card-"
"I chain my trap card:Abyss sphere to your monster's effect and activate it. I use it to special summon mermail abysslinde who is destroyed since abyss sphere is destroyed. And when Abysslinde is sent to the graveyard I can special summon a monster, I special summon mermail abysspike" I said.
"Mermail abysspike's effect activates allowing me to add a lvl 3 water monster when I discard a water monster from my hand. I add atlantean marksman and discard fishborg planter"
"You managed to turn a disadvantage into an advantage, interesting. But my turn isn't done yet" he said.
"I then tune my level 3 fulhelmknight with my level 4 XX-Saber Boggart knight. Synchro summon, Appear Lvl 7 X-Saber Souza"
"Then I activate faultroll's effect bringing back fulhelmknight and use it along with faultroll to synchro summon. Appear Lvl 9 XX-Saber Gottoms"
Three synchro summoned monsters stood before me.
"Battle phase this will end it all XX-Saber Hyunlei attacks Mermail abysspike"
A glowing blade sliced through abysspike and it went to the graveyard.
"Your remaining two monsters don't have the attack necessary to finish this" I said.
"I know that's why I activate the action spell Double attack to double the attack of my X-Saber Gottoms" he said
XX-Saber Gottoms

"Battle phase! Gottoms attacks your White Aura Dolphin!"
Gottoms sword slices cleanly through White Aura Dolphin shattering it.
"Gah" I said as I felt my life points drop.
Raizen:4000-3800=200 LP
"And now to finish it-"
"Yeah that's not happening White Aura Dolphin's effect activates allowing me to banish a water monster to special summon it from the graveyard. I banish fishborg archer and special summon my dolphin in defense position" I said as I interrupted him.
"You're barely hanging on anyway. I attack your White Aura Dolphin with my XX-Saber Souza" he said.
"By banishing atlantean marksman I revive my dolphin once more," I said.
"Guess Yaiba has this in the bag" Hokuto said from the stands and I noticed Masumi nod her head.
"I end my turn, this duel's already over" he said.
"Yeah you're right it is, Draw!" I said as I smiled.
Turn-7 Raizen
"You've demonstrated some good technique Yaiba so it's only fair that I return the favor. I summon Beautunaful princess. Also when my White Aura Dolphin is summoned from the grave it turns into a tuner"
"So I tune my level 6 White Aura Dolphin with my lvl 1 Beautunaful. Waves of purity lend me your strength, Synchro Summon! Appear Lvl-7 White Aura Monoceros"

"If it cannot attack, why'd you bring it out?" he asked.
"You'll see, I activate White Aura dolphin's effect to halve your gottoms attack"

"Battle phase! I attack XX-Saber Souza with my White Aura Monoceros"
The two monsters collide and both shatter.
"I activate Monoceros's effect bringing it back to the field by banishing beautunaful princess and I use it to attack your gottoms"
Monoceros swam towards gottoms in an attempt to collide with it.
"And now I activate Mermail abyssnereia's effect which makes me destroy a water monster to give it's attack to another water monster. I destroy White Aura Dolphin to give it's attack to White Aura Monoceros"

Yaiba covered his eyes as a wave rushed towards him destroying XX-Saber Gottoms.

"Phew, that was a tough duel, thanks for honoring my request," I said as I extended my hand forward.
"Yeah no problem, if you ever need a sparring partner give me a call" he said as we exchanged duel id's.
With that duel out of the way I felt prepared for the upcoming fight.
