"Then it's a good thing that my trap doesn't target, it returns all face up fusion monsters to the extra deck" I said interrupting her once more.
Leo Dancer was pulled in by the tractor beam and returned back to the extra deck.
"No this can't be happening I lost against a criminal" she began muttering to herself
"You have no cards in your hand or on your field, so end your turn" I said
"I end my turn" she said somehow still determined

I stretched my arms a bit then relaxed my shoulders. Jeez that was pretty close if I hadn't drawn Mispolymerization I'm not sure whether I would have survived.
"You can do what you want with her Reiji" I said as I stepped back
Before Reiji could step forward she ran away.
Reiji stood by doing nothing.
"Aren't you going to chase after her?" I asked him
"No I don't think we'll get much use out of her as long as she's an enemy, though good job on the duel I almost thought that I would have to step in to help you when it began to get tough" he said raising his glasses
"Thanks, but now that I know I was captive in the fusion dimension I'm sure they must have messed with me somehow. I'll need to get some more information before things get hectic" I said as I handed him the card which hokuto was sealed in
Reiji gave a knowing nod as we headed back to LDS.
After heading back to Lds I went back to my room and turned on the tv. The results for the top 16 were going to be displayed so I was curious who else made it.
"And now to announce the top 16.."
I listened keenly as I put the names of the people in the top 16 to memory.
Taka,Nagi,,Hikage,Tsukikage, Halil,Olga, Dennis Mackfield,Michio,Daiki,Bram,Ashley,Kachidoki,Gongenzaka,Yuzu, me and Shun.
'Yuya losing might make things go way different than canon. Though this tournament won't mean much in the end, I'll just need to prevent Yuri and the others from getting at any of the bracelet girls'
I try to recall the fleeting memory of the duel I supposedly had with him but I couldn't. With nothing else to do I turned the tv off and went to bed so that I would be ready for what was to come.
When morning arrived I met up with Shun who found out about my duel with Serena. Though instead of getting angry he was calm.
"So you aren't angry that I taunted her into battle?" I asked him
"No. In the end we'll have to fight against the fusion dimension to put an end to this conflict plus I think you've already proved yourself capable of defeating academia's soldiers" he said with a slight smile
"Nice to hear praise for once" I said as my ego was stroked
I had managed to defeat two academia elite duelists already, maybe I was being too cautious.
Maybe they're the ones who should fear me.
The two of us went to debrief with Reiji where I saw Yuu who recognised me but we didn't exchange any words.
After Reiji spoke to us about Academia's interference we left.
As the tournament began I went to the volcano area. Shun and I separated at a certain point though I would need to check up on him later.
But for the time being I wanted to deal with the people from the bandit warrior academy since those guys pissed me off.
After I found my pendulum cards I began to search for Isao Kachidoki.
Moving past the smoldering hot terrain I finally found them seemingly talking amongst themselves.
"Isao Kachidoki I challenge you to a duel" I said as I activated my duel disk
Isao and his buddies looked towards me.
"A duel? How about you take on my two friends here and if you defeat them then maybe we'll talk" Isao said with a smirk
"Sure let's get this over with" I said as the two of them activated their duel disks.
"I'm Taka" one said
"And I'm Nagi, you're making a mistake underestima-" the other said
"Quit with the chatter already I'm taking the first turn"

I looked at my cards.

The two monsters glow as they float into the sky.

My card flipped over revealing a nimble sunfish who was subsequently destroyed.
"When nimble sunfish is destroyed I get to send a fish type monster from my deck to my graveyard, I choose to send fishborg archer. Then I get to special summon another nimble sunfish from the deck, I do so in defense position" I said
"Then I'll destroy your other monster too, Arashi attacks nimble sunfish" he said
My nimble sunfish was destroyed once more.
"I activate its effect once again by sending fishborg launcher to the grave I special summon another nimble sunfish" I said
"Grr that's all I end my turn"
"Don't worry Taka I'll finish him off, draw!" Nagi said as he pulled a card from his deck

Skybolt came at me and hit me with it's stick making me flinch for a second.

"You sure seemed confident when you challenged me but if you can't even beat these two you stand no chance against me" Isao said with a smirk
"You guys are seriously underestimating me, I think it's time I show you how terrifying I am, Draw!" I shouted as I pulled my card.

"I activate the effect of fishborg archer from my graveyard by discarding a card from my hand I get to special summon it, I send Mermail Abyssmegalo to the graveyard to special summon it"

I activate the effect of Mermail Abyssteus in my hand by discarding a water monster I get to special summon it to the field also I get to add a mermail monster to my hand I choose Mermail Abysslinde"

The two named monsters turned into blue rays of light and shot into the spiraling galaxies at the floor.

A wave dissipated revealing Mermail Abyssgaios with its overlay units surrounding it.
"Synchro, Xyz now there's only one more method remaining right?" I said as I looked towards my opponents
"You can't be-"
"That's-"
"Yep that's what I'm going to be doing I activate from the field the spell card:Polymerization I had set" I said as I interrupted the two of them and revealed my card
"Using this card I fuse mermail abysslinde, Zujin of the ice barrier and Atlantean Marksman from my hand"
The three monsters I named left my hand and merged together onto the field.
