Raizen Pov
All I could see around was ever expanding darkness. I floated through a void with no control.
The last thing I could remember was fighting Yuri and I had lost. I should've known not to go after him alone, I should've tried to run.
Was I now a card? Was this yugioh purgatory?
Probably not. Wherever I am I need to find a way out.
"You're not going anywhere" A dissonant voice said
"I did feel that I wasn't alone. So who do I have the pleasure of speaking too?" I asked
"I am the shaddoll core or Shad" The voice said
A humanoid figure draped in shadows appeared before me.
"And right now I'm the one in control of your body. It does make a pretty good vessel I'd say" Shad said
"Why my body?" I asked
"No particular reason I just had the opportunity to take control of it and I did. I wasn't particularly aiming for it" he said
"And I'm assuming you're not just going to be returning my body back" I said
"You would be right in making that assumption" he said
"So what will it take?" I asked
"Oh I don't know..How about a shadow game?"
Yuya Pov
The teleportation device had been successful as the surroundings had now completely changed
"So this is the synchro dimension, where should we be heading next Reij-" I began to speak but then stopped myself as I noticed Reiji wasn't around
Besides myself there was only Natusme, Isao and Reira.
"Where's Reiji?" Reira said as he began to shiver
"We'll find him soon Reira stop crying" Natsume said with uncertainty dripping from her voice
"We don't really need him around do we? I'm sure we can find our way to where these supposed allies of ours are" Isao said as he began to walk forward
Reira didn't seem to be happy at Isao's words.
"Who made you the leader of this operation?" Natsume asked
"Well unlike you two schmucks I actually managed to make it to the maiami championship and the kid over there is from the youth championship so of course he doesn't have any authority. So are we doing this my way or should we have a duel to settle this?" Isao said his hand reaching for his duel disk
"Oh bring it on I'll show you your place" Natsume said as she activated her duel disk
'This doesn't look too good'
Reira stood behind me as the two of them faced each other.
But before they could start dueling we were all surrounded by 6 security guards on bikes.
"Seems like this situation got even more worse" I said as we looked on to the people surrounding us
"That's him the guy who's been messing with us all this time though it seems his partner is not here right now" One of them said
"Well getting one of them is better than none. They need to sector security isn't to be trifled with" Another spoke
They all activated their duel disks.
"If they're not holding back they're asking for a beatdown" Isao said
"For once I agree with you" Natsume said
"Don't worry Reira I won't let them hurt you" I said
The action field crossover activated causing the area around to subtly change and

"I draw" One of the sector security officers said as he took the turn

"I activate the spell card:Double Summon. This allows me to normal summon twice instead of only once" he says as he activated his card
"An now using it's effect I normal summon Jutte Lord and Stygian Security"

The security officer falls off his bike.
"You may have defeated my partner but you don't have another attack remaining for me" the security officer said nervously
"Normally I wouldn't but I luckily managed to find this. I activate the action spell:Wonder chance which allows my monster to attack once more. Once again during damage calculation your monsters attack is reduced to zero" Isao said

While Isao had finished his battle, Natsume managed to finish her own.
"Fire fist-swan attack directly"

"And horse prince attack directly"

And I had to finish my own.
"Rune eyes pendulum dragon attack both the opponents assault dogs"

And with that we were free or so we thought.
As soon as we defeated the security a backup unit with 12 or so officers arrived.
'This was bad'
We could try our chances against them but I had a feeling that it wouldn't go so well.
I took Reira's hand and tried to run away but we were both stopped by some kind of transparent wall. I had no idea why these guys were after us but I needed to make sure that at least Reira managed to escape.
As numerous thoughts swirled in my mind the sky itself began to swirl with dark clouds which were accompanied with lightning.
"Spread your jet-black wings, and storm forth in tandem with the roaring thunder! Slash apart the lightning! Synchro Summon! Cascade! Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower!" A voice shouted
I was whisked away on one of the bikes by the person who performed the synchro summon and we rode away.
The bikes finally stopped in front of a slightly old looking house.
I and the rest of the lancers present got off our bikes as all of the bikers left except for the one who had synchro summoned the monster earlier.
"Uhh" I began to speak but stopped
The biker noticed this and began to speak
"I'm Crow how about we talk inside" he said
He walked to the house, opened the door and stepped inside.
Isao and Natsume followed after him.
Following the three of them Reira and I entered the house.
The interior of the house was as I expected antique looking but it also had a homely sense to it.
When I turned to crow I noticed he was surrounded by three children.
He placed some tuna on the dining table which were then used to make tuna sandwiches by the kids.
Crow began to gobble his sandwiches while I slowly munched on my own. Natsume and Isao, similar to me, were also eating.
The only one who wasn't eating was Reira.
I turned to Crow and began to speak
"I'm Yuya thanks for before,if you didn't arrive, I have no idea what would have happened" I said
"No thanks necessary. Once I saw how you protected that kid I could tell that you weren't a bad guy. So what brings you guys here to the slums? You don't seem like you live here" he asked
"We came here to find strong duelists from the standard dimension," Natsume said
"Speaking of which we need to find our friends" I said
"Dimensions? I don't get what that means but it seems like you guys need a place for now. If that's the case then you can lay low here for a while until the heat on you people dies down" Crow said
"Thanks we'll make sure to not to overstay our welcome" I said
"Haha sure, let me know if you need my help. I'll be heading out now see you later" Crow said before exiting
I sat down and began to think.
Getting to Yuzu and the others quickly was necessary otherwise who knows how long it would be until the fusion dimension made their move.
Ruri Pov
As my surroundings began to stabilize I noticed that the teleportation was successful.
But looking around, the only people next to me were Sawatari and Yuzu.
"Where is everyone else?" Yuzu asked as she looked between to me and Sawatari
"There must have been some sort of malfunction. Let's see if they're around here. Serena!" I called out
"Yuya! Gong! Natsume!" Yuzu called out
Our calls fell to deaf ears.
"Now, Now, you two don't need to worry. As long as Neo-Sawatari is around nothing bad is going to happen-" Sawatari stopped talking as he realized the two of us had already began walking
He quickly joined us.
We continued to call out but to no avail, leading to us stopping and checking our surroundings.
"This is the synchro dimension, right? We haven't been thrown into some other place by the teleporter?" Yuzu asked
"It most likely is. Look ahead at the duel taking place" Sawatari said
Two kids were dueling.
"Using my two monsters I synchro summon, Samurai Destroyer" One of them said
Guess that clears it.
"So where do we go from here? Should we start asking around for information?" I asked
"That sounds like a good idea. Hey there sir-"
"Please don't talk to me I have a family" The man interrupted Yuzu and ran away
"Why was he so scared of me?" Yuzu asked as she looked around
The people around were eying us with caution.
The atmosphere had been getting worse by the moment.
"Oh look what we have here. Sir Shad did say they would be in the synchro dimension and here they are" A man said jumping in front of the three of us
"Who are you? And how do you know Shad?" I said with a serious expression
"You may not recognise me since I'm not in uniform. The obelisk force I'm sure you've heard of us" he said
"I have. Where is Shad? I have some words for him" I said walking forward
"Wait Ruri. We shouldn't be going after him when most of the lancers are missing" Yuzu said
"You should listen to her, Sir Shad would easily take you all out. But if you really want to know then beat me in a duel" he said activating his duel disk
The sword extending as he activated his duel disk brought back memories of heartland. The pain, the rage.
I was going to destroy him.
"I acc-"
"I accept" Sawatari said cutting me off
"Sawatari? This isn't your fight to be had" I said
"Why? Because I'm an outsider? When we became part of the lancers our destinies merged. So trust in me, trust in us the lancers as your comrades as you trusted in your comrades from the xyz dimension" Sawatari said with a smile as he activated his duel disk
I paused as I thought over his words.
He was right. I had to trust my comrades, the lancers. I alone couldn't destroy academia or I would fail just like Raizen did.
"I'm placing my trust in you Sawatari" I said returning a smile
"Thank you. Now it's time we begin the show" he said as he activated his duel disk.
