Situations from their lives
Grasp of the white death, part 2
"Link should've been back by now…" Zelda half whispered while pacing around her office. She had called the two dark Hylians over as she knew them to be able to go after the missing Hero. Her gaze went into the duo and simply nodded. "Find him. Bring him back home alive." The Queen of Hyrule almost commanded.
"You can count on us, Your Highness." The younger dark Hylian replied and bowed deep. His oldest brother mimicked him before they left the room. "We need to stock up before going to the mountain." The Hero's Shadow told as he led the other dark Hylian back to the room they shared with Link.
"Darky, what do you think has happened?" The older dark Hylian inquired while picking up his weapons and putting on the Goron Tunic. The younger one shrugged while making sure he had all needed things along.
"Hard to say." Darky answered with a slight shrug. "Currently all I've felt is that he had bit of a harsh fight." He told with a slight frown before shaking his head. "Might be that we crash up with him while he's returning from the given mission." The young dark Hylian continued with a slight grin.
"I kinda hope for that." Dark answered while being unable to shake off the feeling of something being hellishly wrong. He looked at his left hand. He had made a blood-pact with the Hero of Hyrule and ever since that little action he was able to feel whenever Link got hurt. Sure, it wasn't as strong as what the younger Dark Hylian had with their middle brother but at least it was something. "Just… You'll let me know if things go worse for Link. Right?" He half begged while turning his gaze into Darky.
"Of course I will." Darky answered while giving a reassuring smile. "Just stop worrying, 'k. You and I both know that Link can look after himself." He continued and made last check before heading to the door. "Let's just go and check on him." The younger dark Hylian stated surprisingly calmly. The older one nodded and followed silently.
They fetched Darky's stallion Storm for quicker moving. In less than an hour they reached the start of the snowy mountain. The black horse was left to fend for himself while the duo left to climb up.
The higher they got, the colder the weather became. The snowing started somewhere in midway of the road. It didn't bother the duo as they pulled the hat over their ears and relayed on their Goron Tunics for the warmth. Suddenly Darky stopped with a frown and looked around. "What is it?" Dark inquired through the mind connection of Shadows. He didn't want to risk his words to be swept away by the harsh wind that was blowing the snow around.
"Link…" The younger dark Hylian half whispered through mind before changing his road more towards left. "I know I'm not feeling the cold of this weather but Link…. I think he's freezing." He continued with rising worry. Dark was fully startled and he wanted to inquire more of the situation but he wasn't certain of how.
Soon the duo was running through the blizzard with Darky being in the lead. Suddenly his sharp eyes caught a movement ahead of him and Dark. "There!" He half shouted to his brother while trying to move even faster. "LINK!" He screamed out as loudly as he could. The figure stopped for a moment before continuing forward. Yet, after couple of steps, he fell.
The two dark Hylians hit into the snowy ground and slid couple of meters while stopping right by their brother. "Link! Wake up!" Darky screamed out while shaking the unconscious body of the Hero. He looked around in search of anything that could've been used as shelter but saw nothing worthy.
"We gotta warm him up or we'll lose him!" Dark almost panicked while gently pulling Link up to his lap. Darky nodded as he already started to dig into the snow. "What are you doing? We gotta get Link the hell out of here!" The older one almost barked while desperately bringing out the Din's Fire to warm Link up.
"Shelter. We need a shelter from this weather. Link's out of it already so he'll be dead by the time we get the fuck out of this mountain." Darky answered bit harshly while still digging. "Just hold on to him and use that Din's Fire. That just might save his life." He continued while patting on the walls to make sure they'll hold. Dark simply nodded while trying to shelter Link from the harsh weather by using his own body.
It took a moment but eventually Darky managed to create some kind of snow castle. He helped Dark to move Link into the sheltered area before he already called out Din's Fire. "I gotta hold on to that since we got nothing to burn." He half apologized while going through his pockets.
Dark simply nodded while cradling Link and running his hands up and down around him while keeping the heat of Din's Fire out. Soon enough Darky came over and helped with the work. They slowly got Link's clothes warmed up which in turn helped their work quite a much.
Eventually Link started to shiver but that was also when they noticed the harsh wound in the Hero's back. "The hell's done that?" Dark asked while checking the bleeding gash. It bit freaked the duo out since it clearly gave out a much stronger enemy than the normal monsters.
"I have no idea but I sure as hell don't like it." Darky answered while already searching out the red potion. He carefully got Link to drink the healing liquid. As it started to work with the damage done, the Hero slightly groaned in pain.
A while after the potion had healed the wound, Link blinked his eyes open. "You okay, Duckling?" Dark called bit worriedly while letting his adopted brother move. The Hero whined while closing his eyes again and leaning fully against the older dark Hylian's chest as he slightly shivered.
"W-what happened?" Link half whispered before slowly opening his eyes again. He frowned when he saw the snow around him. He carefully pulled off while bit shaking his head to clear his thoughts.
Dark simply let him move but kept a light hold of him in case he'd crash. "I don't know what happened, bro. But what I do know is that you freaked the hell out of me and Sweet Pea here." He stated out before bit sighing and gently pulling Link back into a hug and kissed the side of his head. "Yet, I'm simply grateful that you're alright." He half whispered.
Darky watched the scene with a small smile. "Zelda sent us to check on you. And I'm happy she did that. We found you just in time." He explained carefully and slightly grinned. "I'm also glad that I took along the extra Goron Tunic." He stated calmly since he and Dark had taken off Link's torn clothes and, even though missing the chainmail, given him new shirt and tunic.
Link sighed in relief and slumped again against his brother. "I thought this would've been an easy mission, you know." He started and chuckled humorlessly before explaining about the Lynel, Ice Wizzrobe and his pathway in the icy river. Dark and Darky listened quietly while nodding now and then.
"Well, I'm pretty certain we can take those two down easily." Dark started with a smirk. "They won't stand a chance against us three." He stated with a cruel chuckle.
