Chapter 29
Next morning, Emma is lying in Sean's arms with the sheet wrapped around them. He begins to wake up, looking over at her smiling, when he hears a noise downstairs. Startling Emma awake
Emma: What was that?
Sean: It's probably the drunken house guest we had last night.
Emma: I was hoping that was just a dream
Sean: The sex last night wasn't a dream though
Sean said with a smirk as Emma curls up closer to Sean
Emma: No, that was not a dream.
They hear the noise again.
Sean: Ugh, I'm going to kill Jay.
Sean leans over the side of the bed and puts his pajama pants on. He gets out of bed softly kisses Emma's head
Sean: Stay up here, I'll deal with him
Emma sits up in bed as Sean goes downstairs
Jay: Man, you look how I feel, rough
Sean: Yea, well when unlike someone, I didn't show up at my former best friends house drunk off my ass, wanting my ex back and making comments about my said former best friends wife
Jay: Oh god, dude I'm so sorry
Sean: You need to go, Jay. Before Emma comes down.
Jay: Sean, buddy-
Sean: Jay, save it, you need to go. You're not welcomed here or in my life.
Jay: Man, listen I can explain-
Sean begins to yell
Sean: Get out Jay!
Jay: I'm sorry about everything last night-
Sean: I had a very intimate night with my wife last night, and planned on having an intimate morning until your loud ass scared her and woke her up
Emma begins to come down the stairs wearing one of Sean's oversized shirts
Emma: Babe?
Sean turns around and sees Emma on the stairs
Sean: Emma, I thought I told you to stay in bed, babe.
Emma: When I can hear my husband yelling from upstairs, I'm going to be concerned.
Jay: Em, I'm sorry about what I -
Sean turns and Looks at Jay
Sean: Don't even finish that sentence. You don't speak to her. When you come at my family, making comments about my wife, and how good she looks, that's where I draw the line
Sean punches Jay
Emma: Sean!
Sean: Your done Jay, I let you stay here last night against my better judgement because you were drunk off your ass last night. Now your sober, and I want you gone.
Jay grabs his hat and jacket and walks out the front door
Emma: Why'd you punch him?
Sean: He pissed me off last night when he made them comments about how good you look
Emma comes down the stairs into the living room where Emma takes Sean by the hand
Emma: Jay was drunk last night, babe. I'm not making excuses for him, but I doubt he really knew what the hell he was doing last night.
Sean: You're my wife, my girl, if anyone should be telling you how good you look, it's me.
Emma smiles as she wraps her arms around Sean's neck
Emma: Believe me, you told me in several different ways last night.
Sean smiles as he laughs
Emma: I love that smile.
Sean: That's because you caused it, when you stole my heart
Sean said with a smile as he kisses Emma
Emma: Is it crazy that sometimes I think our fairytale is a dream still?
Sean wraps his arms around Emma's waist as she wraps her arms around his neck
Sean: Why do you say that, babe?
Emma: I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm the happiest I've ever been, but -
Sean: Sometimes you feel like it's too good to be true?
Emma: Yea, something like that
Sean: That's how I felt on our wedding day.
Emma: Really?
Sean nods yes
Sean: But when I saw the most beautiful, breath taking brown eyed girl, walking down the aisle, all those fears went away, I was instantly relieved
Sean sweeps Emma's hair out of her eyes
Sean: That moment was what I had dreamt about since I first saw you. I didn't care about anything else or anyone else. All I cared about; was I was marrying the most beautiful girl I could ever lay eyes on.
Emma: Awe, that's so sweet honey.
Sean: Babe, my point is, we've been together long enough to know that our love is greater than any fairytale known to man.
Emma looks down at the floor shyly
Sean (softly): Hey look at me
Sean said as he gently lifts Emma's chin and looks into her beautiful big brown eyes
Sean: It's ok, to be afraid still.
Emma: No, you're right, our love is greater than any fairytale
Sean(softly): Em, honey. I get it, you're worried about things with us after the baby comes, if I'll leave you and Rose, and make you a single mother.
Emma pulls away as she wipes a tear away
Emma: I know I shouldn't be worried about it, I know you would be there for us, but you said it yourself years ago, you didn't have the best childhood growing up.
Emma begins pacing in the living room
Sean: Babe
Emma: All this time we've been together, we never talked about whether you wanted a family or how many kids you wanted if we did.
Sean grabs Emma by the hand
Sean: Baby, relax. Take a breath, your spiraling.
Emma takes a deep breath
Sean: Yes, I didn't have the best childhood growing up, but that would never stop me from having a family with my girl.
Emma: Well, it'd be a little late to choose otherwise, unless you leave.
Sean: I'm not leaving you anymore, babe, when I surprised you last year at your graduation, I was home for good. Nothing will keep me from you anymore.
Sean softly kisses Emma's forehead
Sean: I want a big family, with you and only you. This little girl right here-
Sean places her hand on Emma's stomach
Sean: This little girl, she's just the beginning of our family.
Emma smiles
Emma: I love you
Sean pulls Emma into his arms
Sean: I love you too, baby. Always and forever.
Emma: So, how many kids are we talking about here?
Sean laughs
Sean: As many as you want or until we decide to stop
Emma: I like that idea
Emma places her hand on Sean's chest as she looks up and softly kisses him
Emma: Forever with you sounds perfect to me
Sean: Get used to it Emma. I'm not going anywhere
Emma: I know, you always pick me up when I need it, One of these days you're going to get tired of picking me up
Sean: I could never get tired of reminding you how much I love you or picking you up when you need it babe.
