Chapter 43
It's the day of Manny's Bachelorette party. Chester's at the studio working with his artist and Manny's at home getting ready, her phone rings
Manny: Hello?
Emma: Hello Soon to be Mrs. Johnson again
Manny laughs
Manny: What time are you picking me up?
Emma: About 5ish
Manny: Ok, sounds good to me. After yesterday, I need to throw some things
Emma: Oh boy. Tell me about it when I come get you
Manny: Oh, I will
Manny laughs as she hears Rose crying in the background
Manny: Go take care of my niece, I'll see you later
Emma: Alright I'll see you tonight
Manny hangs up, as Emma picks up Rose, her phone rings
Emma: Hello?
Nick: Emma! Hey, it's Nick
Emma: Hi Nick, is everything ok?
Emma said as she tries getting Rose to stop crying
Nick: Everything is fine, listen I was wondering if you'd want to go out sometime
Emma: I'm sure we can do a group thing when I come back
Emma said as Rose continues crying
Emma: Listen, Nick. I'm sorry, I have to go. The baby is having a fit for some reason
Nick: No, I get it. Go do what you got to do
Emma hangs up
Sean: Who was that?
Sean said as he takes Rose from Emma and gets her to stop crying
Emma: It was Nick
Sean: As in the guy who subbed in your class while you were pregnant?
Emma: Yep
Sean: Um, ok then. Why is he calling you?
Emma: He was asking me out, I think?
Sean (chuckles): Uhm, did he forget you're married?
Emma shrugs her shoulders
Emma: I don't know, but I'm just glad you got Rose to stop crying
Sean: All she wanted was her daddy, isn't that right sweet girl?
Rose begins to smile and babble
Emma: You're so great with her
Sean: I always said I'd be a better dad to my kids than my dad was with me
Emma: Well, you definitely are an amazing dad
Sean kisses Emma
Sean: I love our family
Emma smiles
Sean (to Rose): Come on, princess. Time for your nap
Emma (to Rose): I love you sweetpea
Sean takes Rose to her nursery as Emma hears a knock at the door
Emma walks to the front door and opens it to see Tracker in the doorway
Emma: Track! I thought you weren't coming until later
Tracker: I left a little earlier
Emma: Come on in. Sean just put the baby down for a nap
Tracker walks in the house
Tracker: So, how is my little niece?
Emma: She's good. She'll be happy to see her Uncle Tracker when she gets up
Sean comes down the stairs
Sean (to Tracker): Hey Track, man. When did you get in?
Tracker: I just got here a few minutes ago. Give your big brother a hug, punk
Sean chuckles as he walks over to Tracker and gives him a hug
Tracker: Since I have you both here, I have some news for you
Sean: What did you do now, Track?
Emma playfully smacks Sean
Emma: Be nice
Track: Very funny, I'm thinking about moving down here
Sean: Seriously?
Emma: What about your job in Alberta?
Tracker: I can transfer down here. I want out of Alberta
Sean: How does Wendy feel about this?
Tracker: She left me, a few months ago
Emma: Oh, wow.
Tracker: It is what it is
Sean: Well, if you need a job I can always give you a job at the shop for now
Emma: And you can stay with us until you find a place
Tracker: I couldn't impose on you guys
Sean: You're family Track, it's no imposition at all
Emma: And you can spend more time with your niece
Tracker smiles as he laughs
Tracker: This is true.
Emma looks at her phone
Emma: If you'll excuse me boys, I have to get ready for Manny's Bachelorette Party
Emma gives Sean a quick kiss as she goes upstairs and gets ready
Sean: What happen with you and Wendy, man? You guys have been together for a while
Tracker: I don't know Man, I came home from work one day, all her stuff was gone. She left me a note saying she was leaving
Sean: I'm sorry buddy. I know she meant a lot to you.
Tracker: We were together for 7 years.
Sean: Geeze dude. That's rough
Tracker: I'm ok, It stopped hurting a couple months ago
Sean: When are you putting your house in Alberta for sale?
Tracker: I don't know yet. I'm still thinking about whether or not I want to
A few minutes later, Emma comes downstairs wearing a Demin Skirt with a Red one shoulder shirt with her make up done and her hair done up in a ponytail
Emma: Well, how do I look?
Tracker: You look great Em.
Sean: You look incredible, babe.
Emma smiles as she walks over to the mirror
Emma: Are you sure?
Emma said as she looks in the mirror
Sean: Baby. You look stunning. I promise.
Emma hears Rose crying upstairs
Tracker: I got her
Tracker goes upstairs and gets Rose
Emma (to Sean): Ok, I'm going to get out of here.
Sean gives Emma a kiss
Sean: I love you beautiful. Have fun tonight.
Emma: I love you too, babe. You guys have fun
Emma walks out the door, gets in her car and calls Manny on her way her place
Manny: Hello?
Emma: Hey, I'm on my way. I'll be there in 5 minutes
Manny: Sounds good, I'll see you in a bit
Emma hangs up a couple minutes later, Emma pulls up to Manny's house, Manny walks out wearing a White Strapless shirt and Black Leather Skirt with her hair and Make-up done
Emma: Someone looks hot tonight
Manny: Speak for yourself, sister
They laugh as Manny gets in the car and Emma drives off
Emma: So, Tracker is thinking about moving back down here
Manny: What about Alberta and his girlfriend?
Emma: She left him a few months ago
Manny: I never did think she was good enough for him
Emma laughs
Emma: I don't know if he really is going to move down here or not
Manny: It would be nice, then Rose gets some time with her Uncle
Emma: Sean won't admit it but I know he misses his brother
Manny: Yea, I get it.
Manny: So, Jay came to the studio yesterday
Emma: I'm sorry, What?!
Manny laughs
Manny: You know, being his usual Jay self
Emma: Begging you to take him back?
Manny: And he called me a bitch
Manny said laughing
Emma: Ok, he's lost his damn mind. What did you say?
Manny: Well, first off, he tried to tell me Chester doesn't love me like he does and oh yea he's seen Chester out with other women when I'm not around
Emma: Yea, ok. He's full of shit
Manny: I told him, piss off, I'm perfectly happy with Chester. Chester's showed me everything I wanted and don't want in a relationship. Most importantly, he's patient with me
Emma: And how'd he take it?
Manny: Oh, that's when he called me a bitch, Tommy came out of the studio.
Emma: I know he was mad
Manny: Oh yeah. But I told him I could handle Jay. Which I did. I told him leave and never come back, and if I found out he came anywhere near your family or mine. I'd report him for harassment. I'm done playing his games, Em.
They arrive at the sport complex, spend an hour there then leave to go to the bar
Emma: Do you feel a little better now?
Manny: Oh, for sure. It felt good to get out that frustration and anger
Emma: Well, now we're heading to meet the girls at the bar
They arrive at the bar a short time later and meet up with Tori and Jamie inside the bar
Jamie (to Manny): Look at you, Good lookin'!
Manny smiles
Emma: I'm going to go get us some drinks
Emma heads to the bar and gets 4 drinks, she makes her way back to the girls with the drinks and hands everyone a drink
Tori: A toast, to Manny. May you look fierce in your wedding dress and may you and Chester have a lifetime of happiness
Jamie: I'll drink to that!
Emma: Here, here
Manny smiles as they all toast their glasses and take a drink
Manny: Thank you, to you 3 incredible ladies for standing up with me tomorrow. I couldn't ask for a bridal party
Emma: We've been best friends for most of our lives, there's nowhere else I'd rather be than next to my best friend on her big day
Manny gives Emma a hug
Manny: I love you, Em. You're the best
Emma reaches in her purse to pull out a box and hands it to Manny
Emma: I have this for you
Manny opens the box to find a beautiful diamond bracelet with blue stones
Emma: Consider it your something new and something blue
Manny: I love it, thank you Em
The girls continue having fun, laughing, and dancing at the bar before heading back to Manny's
Tori: I am so happy you and Chester have each other. You two are perfect for one another
Manny: I'm so grateful for him, you guys don't even understand. I was coming out of a dark place when we reconnected
Jamie: Really?
Manny: Oh yea, I was fresh out of a toxic relationship when he saw me at Smithdale
Tori: So how long did he wait before he asked you out?

The girls laugh
