Sorry if this chapter is kinda short, I did the best I could with Dr. Archangel.
Gotham City
Clayface mopped the team over the pavement tonight. Everyone lied in shambles and defeat. Aqualad was the only one still struggling to stand. However, Aqualad was quickly punched and sent crashing into the wall. Clayface approached the team ladder laughing at how easy it was to defeat them, he then formed a hammer from his hand and raised it up, preparing the final blow. Until the glass above the ceiling shattered with Batman swooping down. He threw three batarangs into Clayface's arm, as he landed in front of him. Clayface quickly retaliated with a punch with his other arm only for Batman to dodge it then blast him with a high-powered taser. The shock sent him into a melting puddle, and leaving the team in disarray at the expense of their failure.
Batman gave a look of disappointment to Aqualad in particular. The first to pick himself up from the defeat was Wonder Boy, walking over to Aqualad to help him up. Aqualad took the offer of Trevor's help and gave him a hand on his shoulder. The look on his face brought volumes of words to his teammate. He nodded and helped everyone else up starting with Kara and Robin.
Batman escorted the team back to Mt. Justice, "I need to talk to Aqualad. The rest of you, hit the showers and head home."
"Head home? I am home." Superboy shrugged with the rest of the team leaving the room.
Aqualad stood before Batman with Robin beside him, "Just Aqualad."
Kaldur looked at Robin and he took his leave, "I am sorry you had to intervene. I know the team performed poorly-"
"The team performed adequately." Batman corrected, "The problem was you. You're their leader and your head wasn't in the game."
"No you are… correct." Kaldur sighed in defeat, "Of late I am not even convinced I belong on the surface world. For so many years it filled my every thought. But now that i'm here my dreams are all Atlantis."
"Atlantis… Or someone you left behind? You can split your time between the surface and the sea, but not your mind. Either you're here 100% or you need to walk away. Make a decision, Kaldur, and make it soon." Batman walked away leaving Aqualad in an identity crisis to solve.
After a whole day away from any missions, Superboy and Megan spent the entire day in Mt. Justice's recreational room. Megan was in the kitchen while Superbpy did nothing but stare at the TV with nothing but static.
"Would you like me to turn that on?" Megan asked.
Superboy was silent for a moment until he answered, "No."
"Well would you like me to make dinner?" Megan offered.
"No." Superboy responded but he seemed eager despite his answer. She smiled and opened the cookbook.
"Let's see. Uh… We're gonna need some brown sugar." The brown sugar quickly floated to Superboy's hand, "A little butter, some salt cooking oil." Megan leaned into the fridge with all the ingredients flying to Superboy, "Vinegar, a few eggs, couple of tomatoes some milk, a bowl of…" the sound of clattering brought Megan's attention back to Superboy and she found him covered in milk and a bowl over his head.
"Oops. I'm so sorry." Megan pulled a rag from the oven arm and wiped his face of all the ingredients, "I should've paid more attention. It was too much at once. Too much at once. Hello, Megan! That's so me. I uh." Megan didn't realize how close he was to Syperboy until he looked straight at him.
After a moment of pause for the two, they heard a knock from the hallway to show Kara and Trevor catching a glimpse at the two, "Hey guys." Kara greeted.
"Should we wait a moment?" Trevor asked.
"No, I'll head for the showers later." Superboy covered away the embarrassment.
"What are you kids doing here?" Megan asked.
"I was wondering if Superboy would like to come with us to my adopted parents farm. The people who raised Superman are the ones who raise me now." Kara was a little shy in her words.
"I… don't know, do they even know about me?" Superboy asked.
"I told them everything about you, they're really wanting to meet you… y'know, meet their grandson." Supergirl wasn't making the offer easy, but she was being honest.
"You should go, Superboy." Megan suggested.
"They'll be excited to meet you." Kara begged in her words.
"Why are you going Trevor?" Superboy asked.
"Well neither of my parents are home, and things get boring there without them." Trevor answered.
"Please cousin?" Kara is now begging all in.
"Okay fine." Superboy admitted defeat.
"Yay!" Kara jumped with her knees up, arms out.
The three of them took a Zeta beam and a flight and the three were finally arriving at the Kent Family Farm.
"This is embarrassing." Superboy said as Kara and Trevor were holding him as they flew.
"Don't worry, we'll land at the front when it's clear, but don't worry I told them you can't fly." Kara.
"I'm just glad Kara's helping carry you, no offense but you are heavier than you look. At least take pride in that. I almost dropped you and Aqualad when we were rescuing you from Cadmus." Trevor added.
"Well thanks for not dropping me." Superboy thanked.
Trevor looked at Kara and she smiled devilishly and nodded at Superboy. Trevor returned the smile.
"Here, the farm is over there." Kara pointed.
"Ok, can you both please put me down." Superboy requested.
"OK, you asked for it." Trevor replied.
Trevor and Kara releasd Superboy in midair, "He'll be okay, right?" Trevor asked.
"He's my cousin, he'll be fine." Kara waved off.
Trevor's face quickly turned to one of regret as he watched Superboy fall to the ground. "Y'know I thought this would be funny but now I'm not sure. Do you think we should catch him?"
"Uhh, yeah let's do it!" Kara quickly dived to catch her cousin. Trevor quickly followed and caught Superboy a single story before hitting the ground.
"Sorry Superboy. It was my idea, we still cousins?" Kara asked.
"Yeah, I'm sure I would've been fine." Superboy added until a couple of farmers stepped out from the main house.
"You probably would've but we'd prefer you not have made a big crater in front of our doorstep. Clark made quite a few when he was a kid and filing them in was such a hassle."
"Ok, then I guess it's a good thing we didn't let him plummet." Trevor said.
"Anyway, is this Clark's son?" Martha asked.
"I… suppose I am." Superboy answered.
"Welcome to the Kent family, grandson!" Johnathan gave him a hug.
"Kent?" Superboy asked.
"Well of course, I'm Martha Kent, this is my husband Johnathan Kent, and of course you know you're cousin Kara Kent." Martha introduced.
"And… Superman?" Superboy asked.
"That would be our son, Clark Kent." Johnathan asked.
"Kara told us you don't have a name yet." Martha added, "and how Clark has been avoiding you. Oh I swear when I see him next time I'm going to whip some sense into that boy." Martha swore.
"Sorry about Clark." Johnathan apologized on his son's behalf.
"I mean when we saw something unbelievable we didn't deny its existence we raised that boy to be the hero he is today." Martha regained her good demeanor.
"What?" Superboy asked.
"Yeah, c'mon were about to have dinner, Kara said to make room for three."
The five of them were in the middle of dinner resuming their questions, "So how did you meet… My father?" Superboy asked.
"He was just a baby in a pod, and made a massive crater in our cornfield," Martha explained.
"That memory doesn't get old." Johnathan added.
"And we didn't leave him to have others take care of him, I am definitely giving Clark a call." Martha added.
"So Kara says you haven't found a name yet, Superboy." Johnathan brought up.
"Yeah, sorry, but I mean I did find a last name at least. I think I'll give the first name some thought." Superboy smiled.
"So hold on," Trevor picked up on the conversation, "Superman was raised on earth since he was a baby. Kara, you arrived on this earth how long ago?"
"A few months, when I first arrived I was running across the streets of a city with barely any control over my powers." Kara explained, the memories crossing her mind. In her eyes, she was growing uncomfortable.
"Enough about us, we'd love to know a little about you Trevor." Martha shifted the conversation. "Tell us your story."
"Well, my mom is Wonder Woman. As you may not have known, my dad was an airforce pilot now a colonel. They met fifteen years ago on a mission and fell in love shortly afterward, then a few years later they got married and had me. Growing up the two of them always inspired me, their heroism, and compassion. I wanted to be like them my entire life, to do what they did and when I got my powers I've done my best to live up to them, but my mom didn't really like that her seven-year-old son fighting crime. I then spent years begging her to make me her protege until she finally made me Wonder Boy, and I dream of one day taking my place in the Justice League."
"Well Trevor your mom may sound hard to understand but from the way she sounds from what you said I've no doubt when I say she's absolutely proud of you." Martha answered.
"That she is, but if gonna be honest at the table I gotta say it, I've been accomplishing more on the team than I have with Wonder Woman."
"Hey no smack talk in my kitchen." Martha quickly put her foot down.
"Sorry…" Trevor quickly dialed his ego down.
"Your mom may not be here, Trevor, but the things she taught you are with you, and is that kind of talk what she taught you?" Johnathan asked.
"It's the truth and she's strict when it came to the truth. She'd be more disappointed in me if I lied to you."
"That's more like it." Martha turned her disciplinary attitude around.
"Don't get me wrong, I've done a lot of good fighting beside Wonder Woman. I would never take my time with my mom for granted. She raised me better than that. It's just that with this team I've accomplished a lot of remarkable stuff."
"At least she raised you at all." Superboy added, "I mean I have you, the team, my cousin, and now you guys. I wish Superman didn't see me as some stray."
"Just give him time, he'll come around. Until then, you have your cousin and your grandparents." Johnathan assured with a hand on his shoulder.
"And don't worry, he's getting a firm talk when I call him." Martha promised.
"That would be funny to watch." Superboy grinned at the idea.
"Yeah, I would spend my allowance to see that." Trevor commented.
"Yeah I would too." Kara smiled.
The kids started laughing together.
After supper, the Kent's put the three kids to work at the farm. They had some work to do before night comes completely. It's a relief they allowed the kids to use their powers.
Superboy fixed any wrecked fences, Trevor bailed all the hay in the piles, and Kara was sent to tend the animals.
Johnathan and Martha stood under the terrace watching the kids work around their farm, "I'm so happy for Clark, his cousin Kara, and now he has a son." Martha praised.
"Give him time, Martha, our son will stand up as a father in time." Johnathan assured, "And Trevor seems a great kid."
"Wonder Woman is definitely a proud mom." Martha added.
After an evening of chores around the farm, the kids were offered to stay in some of the available rooms.
"This night was child's play!" Trevor yawned.
"It was a nice break after everything this past few weeks." Superboy stretched put his back.
"Tell me about it." Trevor replied, laying down.
"Nice to know some people related to Superman enjoy having me around." Superboy realized.
"And we found you a last name! Superboy Kent." Trevor smiled over Superboy.
"I think I'll just stick with Superboy."
"We should really find you a real name, superboy's starting to get annoying." Trevor spoke honestly.
"Eh, I'll give it some thought." Superboy smiled and got some sleep.
Across the hall, Kara was sleeping in her room. Under her sheets she smiled warmly to herself at the nice day she had with family, "I'd do anything for more days like this, I remember I always spent my early days isolated in a base protected by Superman… Is that why Superman doesn't want to get close to Superboy?"
Mt. Justice
"Recognized. Aqualad, E-0-2."
Aqualad arrived and Batman was at the computer, "Made your decision?"
"The decision is made. I am here. One hundred percent." Aqualad stood confident.
"Just in time for your next mission." Batman said with the rest of the team arriving.
"Aqualad hey, how was Atlantis?" Wonder Boy asked.
"It was good." Aqualad smiled.
"Awesome you know if I ever go to Themyscira how about you come with." Wonder Boy offered.
"I wouldn't mind that." Aqualad smiled.
"Neither would I an island filled with beautiful women who am I to say no." Kid Flash joked which was met with Trevor kicking Wally right in the nuts.
"That would be their response to you." Trevor said as wally fell to the floor clutching his nuts.
"Ow… duly noted."
"Oh get back on your feet, you heal quick." Artemis laughed at Wally's expense.
"Ooh, could I come?" Kara asked.
"Ugh… Sure why not." Trevor was a little hesitant. "Actually might be interesting, Amazons like people like you."
"Alright, Batman you said we have a mission?" Aqualad redirected the attention to their next assignment.
Batman nodded.
