Washington Trevor Family Penthouse
In the Trevor family penthouse, things were quiet, and unbearably torturous.
In Trevor's room, the young hero laid in his bed in his PJs with a remote in hand surfing through channel after channel. Since he was cooped up in his room the only thing he could do was lay in bed and watch TV which is fun at first but gets boring very quickly. "By the gods, why isn't there anything good on, you'd think with access to unlimited channels there'd be something good, but no there isn't."
Surfing the channels Trevor started growling until he finally decided to settle for some weird Sci-fi fantasy show.
"Star Trek reruns?" Trevor said out loud.
"OK, that's enough." Trevor picked up the remote and turned the TV off, laying in quiet seemed much better than watching TV.
However, the quiet would soon be cut short by a knock that came from Trevor's door. "It's open."
"Hey Trevor!" Kara opened the door with a smile.
Trevor smiled at the sight of Kara, after spending days in bed seeing her was a welcome sight, "Kara It's you!" Trevor shouted, and then realized she was here in his room in regular clothes with a box in hand.
"Kara, it's you!" Trevor said again but in terrifying surprise.
"Trevor, are you okay?" Kara asked as she entered the room.
Trevor shrugged. "I'm fine, just a little… ok, I'm very tired of laying in bed all day."
"I'm sorry you have to deal with that." Kara apologized, taking a seat on the bed.
"It's fine… So what's in the box?" Trevor asked.
"A gift." Kara answered.
"A gift, what are we on a date?" Trevor joked.
Trevor's question lit up Kara's cheeks, "Umm, ugh-are we?"
"Just give me the box." Trevor said trying to avoid the heat on his face.
"It's not just from me it's from the entire team." Kara explained.
"Oh?" Trevor was surprised to hear that.
"Connor told me about the mission, how that brain weakened you. Well, they invited me back to Mount Justice so that I can bring you this." Kara gave Trevor the box.
Trevor opened the box to see a generic trophy of a man standing tall like a leader does. Beneath the figure was an engraving, "To Steven Trevor II, the one who remained loyal." Trevor read out loud, "Steven Trevor the second? I kinda like that."
"Kid Flash thought you'd like that." Kara said.
Trevor then noticed the card laying at the bottom of the box. "What's this?"
"It's a card from everyone on the team. Even that one Archer in red wrote something for you." Kara giggled under her breath.
"Even Roy signed? He's not even a member of the team." Trevor said.
"You kept yourself very whelmed on that mission: Robin."
"Way to keep the steady head: Kid Flash."
"You're a leader in the making: Aqualad."
"Hope to see you soon, I need a sparring partner in the next training session: Superboy."
"Get well soon, Trevor, Team's not the same without you: M'gann."
"For a boy with Amazon strength, you're lighter than I thought: Artemis."
"Get well soon, kid: Red Arrow."
"Well, that's nice of them." Trevor said.
"Oh, don't you notice someone missing on the card?" Kara asked.
"I mean even Roy signed it, who else?" Trevor asked.
Kara smiled with a clever sneer in her eyes and gave him another card.
"Oh, how could I forget?" Trevor slapped the side of his head. He opened the card, to find Kara's greeting.
"Get well soon Trevor, my heat vision is getting better, hope to be back on the team soon: Kara." Trevor read out loud and sounded excited in his voice.
"Seriously?" Trevor asked.
"Yeah, I made a flicker but that's progress. Even managed to get two shots after flying up close to the sun." Kara said.
"Whoa, what? You flew up to the sun?" Trevor asked.
"Yeah, It wasn't much. I guess given how new I am to all of this. Maybe I'm just not old enough yet." Kara made a convincing observation to her problem.
"Yeah that could make sense. You've been on Earth for less than a year, right?" Trevor asked.
"Yeah." Kara didn't want to talk about this, "Can we not, you know?"
"Of course, I'm sorry." Trevor assured. He took a breath, and looked down at his current attire, "Okay, I've had it."
Having enough Trevor removed the sheet got up from the bed and removed his PJs.
"Ew! What are you doing?!" Kara asked covering her eyes.
Trevor went over to his closet grabbed a pair of jeans from the shelf putting them on. "I've had enough of laying around I want to go out and get something good to eat."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Kara asked, still keeping her eyes covered.
"It's been days, most of my blood has most likely been replenished." Trevor argued, grabbing a plain green shirt off the rack and putting it on.
"For Rao's sake if you don't have clothes on I'm gonna laser my own eyes out." Kara begged, keeping her eyes closed.
"I'm sorry, Kara." Trevor sincerely spoke as he zipped up his jeans, "Okay, I'm dressed, you can stop covering your eyes."
"Next time give me a heads up before you do that." Kara requested as she put her hands down. The first thing she noticed when she looked at Trevor he was fully clothed as promised.
"Alright," Trevor replied grabbing a hoodie and putting it on.
"Wanna come with me?" Trevor asked.
"Yeah, I'd like that." Kara smiled.
Trevor and Kara walked to the front door but before his hand could touch the door his hand was grabbed. "And where do you think you're going, young man?"
Trevor and Kara looked up to see Diana standing over them with a look of disappointment and one hand placed on her hip.
"Um… we're going out to eat." Trevor explained.
"Well, I'm afraid that's not happening, given your condition, sweetheart." Diana crossed her arms, "Unless you have adult supervision that has money."
"I have money and I'll have Kryptonian supervision." Trevor said holding out his wallet and pointing to Kara.
"You sure?" Diana smiled.
Trevor looked in his wallet, and found it empty, "You didn't invite me the last time you two went to have fun. You'd invite Dad to the arcade, but not me?"
"Because you get weird when it's me and Kara." Trevor groaned.
"And I'm sorry for that. So Trevor, will you allow your mom to join you?" Diana cooed.
"Well, grandma did say you didn't mention Kara when you spoke about the team. I guess we're both weird in this case." Trevor countered the weird feeling in the room, "Fine but please give me back my money."
"Of course dear." Diana returned her son's cash.
Just then they heard the door knocking, "Hmm, who could that be?"
Diana opened the door to see a ten-year-old boy in a red hoodie.
"Hello there, is there something we can do for you?" Diana asked.
"Uh, yeah hi I'm Billy Batson I'm a friend of Trevor's." Billy waved at them.
Kara walked over to the front door and looked down at the little ten-year-old kid, "Um, how do you know this kid?" Kara asked.
Trevor grabbed Kara by the arm and brought her close whispering into her ear, after a few seconds her eyes widened. "Really?"
Trevor nodded.
"OK, wow." Kara responded.
"Yeah wow." Trevor added.
"I'm sorry how do you know this kid, Trevor?" Diana asked.
"We met a short while ago and we became friends." Trevor covered.
"Very well." Diana smiled, "Let's get something to eat."
Big Belly Burger
The four of them arrived at a Big Belly Burger restaurant, and the first thing they were greeted with was a man, "Oh hello beautiful!" he cooed at Diana.
Diana lightly pushed the man away politely saying. "Buzz off, I'm married."
Trevor, Kara, and Billy all walked up to the cashier counter, "Hello, welcome to Big Belly Burger how can I help you." the cashier greeted.
"Give us fourteen Big Belly Burgers with extra ketchup and bacon." Trevor requested.
"Fourteen?" the cashier repeated, surprised.
"We have a get-together planned today with friends." Diana answered.
The cashier nodded. "Ah, okay then."
The four waited at the nearest table, and Kara decided to break the ice, "So I ugh, have an update on my… what's a good word?" Supergirl wanted to explain how she's getting better at her heat vision control, but to use them openly in a public restaurant wouldn't help.
"Do you have a progress report on your extracurricular activities at home, Kara?" Diana asked.
Kara looked at her and Diana nodded with a smile, implying she was using code, "My activities at home are doing much better than I could've hoped. Interesting results we can go through later, hopefully, they'll be enough to have me return to school."
Diana looked at her son and he could read her face like a book, he was anxious to hear the results. Hoping to have her back on the team.
"Well, we'll find out after we get our order." Diana answered.
After a few more minutes of talking about other things, real school, and any other hobbies, the counter cashier called the group's number.
"Alright, fourteen burgers, with a side of medium-sized fries." The cashier cited the order on the receipt.
"Yes, thank you for the meal!" Diana smiled as he hauled the bag of burgers.
The four of them left the restaurant but before Diana could open the exit door she was stopped by the man she just pushed away. "You?" the earlier customer that tried to flirt with her is back and he's a lot more handsy.
"Hey girl, you need some alone time away from the kids?" He put her hand on Diana's shoulder.
Trevor had his fists balled, ready for a fight, but Kara held him back. Her touch helped ease his anger peacefully. "Not in front of all these people."
"I said it before, and I'll say it again." Diana took the creep's hand, the hand that had her wedding ring and twisted it with a portion of her strength, making the man shriek in pain. "I'm. Happily. Married."
"OKAY OKAY OKAY!" The guy squealed.
The kids behind Diana started chuckling.
"Wow, your mom is tough." Billy whispered.
"Should you really be surprised, you are secretly a member of the Justice League." Trevor replied just as quietly.
"Yeah, but tell you the truth I like working with you guys more." Billy admitted.
"Thanks for that." Trevor patted Billy's back.
"I hope we can work on a mission someday." Kara added.
"Thanks Kara. Hope to have you back soon."
Just then Billy's phone started ringing. "Hello…Okay."
"I have to go see you guys at Mount Justice." Billy said, grabbing a couple of the burgers out of the bag then running out of the restaurant.
"Where's he going?" Diana asked.
"Something about a family emergency." Kara lied.
Diana looked over at the boy running across the street, "Very well. Let's go eat." Just then, Diana received a phonecall shortly after, "Hello?" Trevor and Kara looked at eachother, thinking something big might be happening, "Okay I'll be there soon." Diana hung up and looked at the two kids.
"Something's come up, kids, we're needed. Let's go." Diana looked serious.
"Okay. Guess we're eating on the way."
Mt. Justice
"Recognized Wonder Boy B-0-5, Supergirl B-0-7"
Kara and Trevor arrived from the Zeta tubes with their bag of food half empty. "Wow thats five how many more can you eat?" Trevor asked Kara.
"You've had four." Kara argued back.
"Heh, fair enough." Trevor finished his last bite, "Hey KF, you here yet?" Trevor called out.
"Someone call?" Kid Flash ran over to the two.
"We have three more Burgers, want the rest?" Trevor offered to Wally.
"Heck yeah, Trev!" Wally took what's left of their burgers, and dashed away.
Walking their way to the central hub of the base, Kara and Trevor found Robin and Aqualad sparring, alongside Captain Marvel and Zatara, "Trevor!" Captain Marvel waved.
"Trevor?" Robin looked to find the kids have returned.
"Trevor, good to see you recovered." Aqualad smiled.
"Likewise, Kaldur." Trevor stood before his friends with a smile.
"Always good to have you here, Kara." Robin greeted.
"Thanks guys." Kara was glad to hear that.
To their left, Connor and M'gann were approaching the room with their new companion. Wolf saw Kara, and he dashed straight for the girl with a wagging tail.
"You know they're a couple right?" Robin asked.
"I believe I knew before they did." Kaldur answered.
"Wolf!" Kara embraced their new friend, and started scratching his belly, "Who's our big snuffly wuffly!" Kara cooed, and tackled him with a hug. Wolf growled happily and yipped Kara in the air, and landed on his back.
"A Kryptonian girl mounted on a mutated wolf?" Trevor asked.
"Ooh!" Kara thought of something and pulled out the necklace that Hippolyta gave her. She put herself in a heroic pose while sitting on Wolf, "Take a picture of me and show your grandma on your next visit."
Trevor laughed at her funny take on posing as an Amazon Cavalier, "Okay fine." Trevor pulled out his phone and took a snapshot of the two.
"Those two don't know it yet." M'Gann said walking over to Kaldur and Robin.
"Eh let'em be, they're nice enough as it is." Robin said.
From the other side Wally walked up with Artemis eating the final bites of their cheeseburgers provided by Trevor and Kara.
"Do we tell them?" Trevor asked.
"Do we?" Robin followed.
"It's not our place." Kaldur responded.
"So if Zatara is our babysitter of the week, why is he still here? And why is he eating my snacks?" Wally pointed at Captain Marvel who was eating one of Wally's candy bars.
"We made an arrangement with the league." Zatara answered.
Captain Marvel finished his candy bar before he answered, "We split our time watching you guys. When Zatara is watching you, I'm making amends with Wonder Boy! Wonder Woman's kinda angry with me for putting you in that position."
Wonder Boy gave Captain Marvel a fist bump.
"I'm not one to hold a grudge but if you put me in a position like that again I will put you in a world of hurt." Wonder Boy threatened.
"Ehem!" Zatara cleared his throat, "And when Captain Marvel is watching you, I'm looking into helping your other friend Michael Nelson heal from his slumber."
"I wouldn't, that magic pod is healing his mind and it's mostly healed." Trevor argued.
"Don't worry, this isn't my first time magically healing people." Zatara assured.
"I'm just saying if you do something wrong you could do something that could end up setting the process back and he's nearly recovered." Wonder Boy said.
"Son, don't worry, I've known Michael Kent and his condition for a good long while I know how to handle this." Zatara assured.
Wonder Boy crossed his arms. "Fine but if you do something wrong I'll put you into a coma."
"Wonder Boy we do not threaten League members." Captain Marvel stopped him.
"Sorry just a little grouchy from being in bed for days." Wonder Boy explained.
"Yes, I've heard." Zatara added. "Such a horrific feat to be drained of blood from the Brain."
"I'm not worried about that, I'm more worried about what the Brain is gonna do with it." Trevor replied.
"Recognized Batman 0-2."
"Computer, National news." Batman said mid-way through the portal.
The hall's main screen popped open, and a report from Cat Grant opened, "The initial attack was short-lived but Metropolis was only granted a short reprieve. And despite the intervention of Superman, and the Justice League. There seems to be no end in sight."
"Should we get out there?" Robin asked.
Batman turned to the Team. "No. The League will soon have the situation under control. That's not why I'm here."
An image of Sportsmaster, popped beside Batman, "According to your intel, Sportsmaster supplied Cadmus' Blockbuster formula to Kobra."
"Who combined it with Bane's venom to create Kobra venom." Wally recapped, followed by Robin, "Which the Brain used to create his animal army."
"And upgrade Wolf." Connor patted him under Wolf's chin while Kara rubbed his side.
"The Brain used inhibitor collars like the ones at Belle Reve Penitentiary." M'Gann
"Let's not forget he tried to take Shazam's brain and stole my blood." Wonder Boy added.
"All the similarities, this can't just be coincidence." Kara added.
"Batman, is it possible that plant thingy's on Kobra venom too?" Artemis asked the obvious question.
"I had Green Lantern run a spot analysis. Divine Cellulose does contain trace amounts of Kobra venom variant." Batman showed the results on the monitor.
"Kara's right, these cannot be coincidences. Unrelated criminals are cooperating with one another worldwide." Aqualad backed Kara.
"Exactly, It's now clear our enemies have formed some kind of Secret Society of Super-Villains." Batman confirmed their suspicion, "The attack on Metropolis is only the beginning."
"You got that right. Plant creatures have sprouted in Gotham City, Paris, Star City, Taipei-" Robin was interrupted by a sudden burst of static.
"Dude." Wally looked over at Robin.
"It's not me. Someone's cutting into the satellite signal. All satelite signals." Robin defended.
The screen went back to reveal the Joker tapping on the screen with his devious smile. "Ladies and Gentlemen we interrupt your regularly scheduled mayhem to bring you this important announcement… from the Injustice League."
Joker then turned the camera to show eight supervillains, "We are responsible for the attacks on your cities. If you wish to save them, a ransom of ten billion American dollars is required. Delivery instructions have been sent to the united nations. There is no time limit, but the longer your governments wait."
Joker turned the camera back to him, "The more we get to have our... Jollies."
The transmission then cut off just then Batman received a transmission from Aquaman. "Roger that, Aquaman. The UN will prepare the ransom as a fallback but it wont come to that."
Trevor then whispered to Robin. "You know of all the villains I've seen Joker is probably the most annoying."
"Don't have to tell me that." Robin replied as he reminded the footage, "Count Vertigo, the Joker, Ultra-Humanite, Atomic Skull, Black Adam, Wotan, Metallo, and Cheetah. Nine heavy hitters. Probably behind nearly every everything, and everyone we ever faced."
"There's your secret society." Wally said.
"Not so secret anymore." Artemis said.
"Perhaps after India, they realized we would deduce the truth, and saw now point in hiding any longer." Aqualad realized.
"Yeah. That was their mistake. Right now I say we go kick some plant creature's butt." Wally shouted.
"The Justice League will handle the plants. I have a different job for this team." Batman redirected Wally's idea.
"Oh man. Uh!" Wally was smacked in the shoulder by Artemis.
"Recognized Wonder Woman, Speedy B-0-6." The Zeta tube said a Red Arrow and Wonder Woman came through.
"Again with Speedy, I told you to change the name to Red Arrow." Red Arrow complained.
"Mom?" Trevor asked.
"With the plants attacking so many locations simultaneously there must be a central control system. Your mission is to destroy it." Batman instructed.
"Is that why Roy's here, is he here to help us?" Trevor asked.
"You made a convincing argument back when I was last here, Trevor. Aqualad came to my help over in Korea. When I heard of your run-in with the Brain, I figured I'd return the favor so I'll stick with your team but just for this mission." Roy explained.
"Oh yeah man, I know we're gonna work well together." Wally cheered.
"All of us are here now!" Kara cheered next.
"Except," Batman's glare could be felt on Kara, "You're still suspended from the team, Kara."
"What?" Kara turned, "I've been getting better at controlling my heat vision. I'm ready to get back on the team."
"That may be but none of us forgotten what you did to Wonder Boy, until you've proven you have better control over your powers you still have no place on the team."
"I'm sorry? You're not gonna allow me back on the team, when Trevor has forgiven me, and was under bedrest from the Brain. Which I was not there for, but you're gonna allow Roy to help when he's hardly been around the team from the first place!" Kara spat facts in spite of not being in her place.
"Hey Kara don't you dare ruin this!" Wally defended Roy.
"And don't you dare point fingers at one of our friends." Trevor defended Kara.
Zatara and Wonder Woman stepped up with their faces written with concern. "You realize what you're asking them to do."
"Zatara's right, I doubt the team is ready to take these villains on." Wonder Woman said.
"They're ready." Batman spoke the truth.
"And what if they're not?" Wonder Woman asked. "We're sending these kids to Tartarus if things go wrong."
"Diana, I know how you're feeling, but this needs to be done. We don't have any other options." Batman was not wrong.
Diana looked at her son with worry, after what happened with the Brain it's normal for a mother to worry about her son's well-being. "Fine. He wouldn't forgive me even if I did keep him from this. But if anything happens to these children it will be your head, Batman."
"Stand down, Wonder Woman." Batman glared.
"So what are we ready for exactly?" Wally asked to which Atremis whacked him in the arm. "Ow. Will you cut that-"
"Did you not hear Wonder Woman? If the Big guns are fighting the plants who do you think we'll be fighting?" Artemis asked hoping Wally knew the answer.
"I don't know. I guess we'll…" Wally truly was clueless.
Fortunately, Artemis pointed the screen with the image of the villains and Wally realized what they were going to be doing. "O-h-h."
"How are you two not in love already?" Trevor asked.
"Shut up Trevor!" Both Wally and Artemis yelled at the same time.
"Clearly in love." Trevor responded which got Kara to giggle behind them.
"Trevor we must focus on the task at hand." Aqualad said and turned to Roy, "Red Arrow, as your friend I trust indefinitely, but as the leader of this team, can I count on you in this team?"
"Yes, Aqualad." Roy promised.
Zatara and Wonder Woman then turned to Batman. "Well, Batman I trust you are correct."
"I trust you can locate the enemy." Batman said.
"Indeed. Wotans involvement suggests sorcery is part of how the plants are controlled." Zatara explained then turned to Robin. "Robin if you would provide the holo map…"
Doing as instructed Robin, "I'll search for signs of concentrated sorcerous activitiy."
Zataro, held his hands and cited, "Etacol retnecipe fo yrecros."
"Did he just say a sentence backward?" Trevor asked.
"Yes." Robin answered.
"How in the name of the Gods is that supposed to work? I wish we could talk to Michael about this." Trevor was eager to meet him again.
Kara walked quietly towards Trevor and whispered, "By the way what's Tartarus?"
"Shh, tell you later." Trevor promised.
Just then a small red dot appeared on the holomap, "That is where you will find the Injustice League's central control system."
"Coordinated logged in. The Lousiana Bayou."
"We are on our way." Kaldur said.
"Let's suit up and get out there!" Trevor said.
The Team proceeded to leave but Trevor was quickly stopped by Wonder Woman. "Be careful Trevor, these villains are foes you or the team should not underestimate."
"I promise I won't make that mistake again with Guerllia Gorilla." Trevor promised.
Diana smiled and gave her son a kiss on his forehead, but before he could leave he took one last look at Kara. He walked up to her, "I'll see you after the mission."
"What's Tartarus?" Kara asked before he could leave.
"The dungeon that prisons the Mythological Greek Titans." Trevor answered.
"I should be going with you." Kara responded, "If this mission is as dangerous as your mom says…" Kara couldn't finish her sentence.
"It'll be okay." Trevor promised.
Kara grabbed Trevor wrapping her arms around him. "Be careful."
Trevor returned the hug. "I will."
At the other side of the hallway, M'gann and Artemis eavesdropped on the kid's moment, "I swear those two!" M'gann smiled.
"You think she'll find a way to help us out?" Artemis asked.
"Probably but we know disobeying the Justice League doesn't bode well for us, but then again, this team exists because some of us disobeyed." M'gann said
"True." Artemis had to admit.
Bioship - Bayou Bartholomew
"This ship is pretty impressive." Roy complimented as he counted his arrows.
"Yeah, it has a multitude of capabilities." Wonder Boy replied as he turned to work on the straps on his shield.
Artemis did a recount on her arrows.
Robin did a double-check on his utility belt.
"What's in the duffle?" Kid Flash asked as he was eating a banana.
"Plan B." Aqualad answered.
"Do we wanna know what Plan B is?" Wonder Boy asked.
"No you don't." Aqualad said
"OK, then I hope we never have to use it then." Wonder Boy replied. "We should've brought Kara with us if Metallo's part of this then we may need her help."
"Metallo has a Kryptonite heart he'd slaughter her. Superman went against him many times and nearly lost his life against him." Kid Flash corrected.
Further down their way, M'gann started to struggle, like she's getting dizzy.
"You alright?" Superboy asked.
"Dizzy." M'gann answered.
"Martians get airsick?" Robin questioned.
"She does look a bit greener than usual." Kid Flash commented.
"Not me, it's her." M'gann said and all of the boys looked at Artemis.
"I feel fine." Artemis answered.
"Not her, the bioship. She's trying to shield us, but-" M'gann tried to explain, but she was cut off by Trevor.
"They know we're here!" Trevor stood as he realized.
Outside the Bioshop, Vertigo, and Black Adam had a feed on the ship. Using his mind powers, Vertigo managed to decloak the Bioship, "There it is Adam, go." Vertigo pointed and Adam flew straight for the ship. Picking up on speed, he landed a punch straight beneath the hull of the ship.
"Miss Martian open the door, I'll handle this bozo." Wonder Boy ordered.
"Wonder Boy do not be stupid Black Adam is too powerful for you to fight alone." Aqualad argued.
"We have to do something, I'm going out there." Wonder Boy said then unstrapped himself.
With their ship struggling in a body of water, growing vines from the super plant started restraining the ship. Shortly after, a thump on the roof of the hop caught everyone's attention and a sharp pain could be heard from the Bioship as Black Adam tore open a hole.
"Ah, he's hurting her." M'gann said.
"OK, I've had enough of this guy already." With that Wonder Boy flew up delivering a swift punch to Black Adam's face. "I'll keep this guy occupied."
"Wonder Boy No!" M'gann tried to stop him.
Wonder Boy already flew out of the hole Black Adam made. Unfortunately for the rest of the team, they had to put up with a sinking bioship, "No. No way I'm nearly drowning three missions in a row." Artemis refuses as she puts on a rebreather, and hands another to Kid Flash.
"Wow, uh thanks." Kid Flash was actually impressed.
Aqualad handed another to Red Arrow.
"M'gann, we need to get out. Open a hatch." Superboy looked over at Miss Martian.
"Hello, Megan. Of course." Miss Martian smacked her forehead and morphed gills on her neck. Swimming their way down to the bottom of the ship, the ship created an escape hatch.
"Out everyone out." Aqualad shouted via telepathy.
The team swam out of the ship, and safely to shore.
Keeping up with Black Adam, Wonder Boy finally managed to strike an elbow on Black Adam's back sending him crashing to the ground
"You are brave boy, let me show you where your bravery will get you." Black Adam taunted.
Wonder Boy raised his fists ready for a fight, this is not going to be easy nor is it going to be quick but he has to keep him busy. Black Adam growled fiercely and flew directly at him letting out a vicious cry. Wonder Boy did the same.
Two Gods have clashed on the battlefield.
Wonder Boy landed the first punch in Black Adam's gut, the feeling made him proud in the moment. Unfortunately, he fell right into Adam's trap and he took his punch and swung the boy across the forest.
Black Adam flew to where Wonder Boy landed, and he found an empty hole, "Quick little one, very quick." Quicker than Adam realized, when Wonder Boy arrived from behind to deal another strike from above the tree line. Going as planned Wonder Boy delivered a hard and swift punch to Black Adam's head disorienting him. Using the opportunity Wonder Boy grabbed Black Adam spinning him around and throwing him through several trees. Wasting No time Wonder Boy flew to where Black Adam crashed and unleashed a flurry of punches.
All of his attacks only lead to Black Adam chuckling while snatching Wonder Boy's neck, "Meaningless, though I must admit that did hurt but only a little. You are strong boy but not strong enough." Black Adam threw Wonder Boy a few feet back but he managed to land on his feet.
Wonder Boy pulled out his sword and retracted his shield, "You're merely a boy in armor too big for his own good. Even Ares wouldn't deem you worthy of your place amongst us Gods." Black Adam belittled Trevor.
"Ares is gone. Wonder Woman saw to that." Wonder Boy spat.
"Did she?" Black Adam smiled.
The words slithered into Wonder Boy's mind, but he knows what this is, he's provoking him while in the field, and unfortunately, it's working. Trevor raised his blade and charged straight for Adam but before he could someone grabbed him from behind.
"Hello, Wonder Boy." A woman hissed into his ear from behind it was a voice that he knew all too well.
"Cheetah!" Wonder Boy exclaimed.
"You've had your fun Black Adam I'll take it from here." Cheetah said then turned to Wonder Boy, letting out a menacing hiss.
With the rest of the team making their way out of the waters, they tucked down and looked to see the Bioship struggle with the sentient vines, "She's in shock, she'll need time to recover."
Before the team could even make their next move, a wave of psychic force sent the group to the ground screaming in agony. Kid Flash looked to see it was none other than Count Vertigo. "Veritgo."
"Count Vertigo to you, peasant." he introduced.
Superboy got up attempting to punch Vertigo but Black Adam punched him sending him flying a few feet. Also, Wonder Boy emerged from the bushes falling on his back but wasted no time in getting back up and raising his shield.
Emerging from the bushes was Cheetah with Wonder Boy's sword in hand. "I'm gonna have fun with you Wonder Boy, since Wonder Woman isn't here I can take my time."
Aqualad stood from his daze, and pulled the water out to strike at Count Vertigo. The strike made a direct hit, giving the team an opening to scatter, "Robin, Red Arrow, Miss Martian, disappear." Aqualad called via telepathy. We'll keep them busy. You two fulfill the mission objective." Aqualad called and the three have already vanished.
Black Adam flew over to Aqualad and smacked a punch to his left cheek. Wolf tackled Black Adam, following with Artemis and Kid Flash attempting to lend a hand, but Adam threw Wolf back at the two. Black Adam flew over to the three but Wonder Boy landed a jab at Adam with the tip of his shield. Cheetah pounced on Wonder Boy with his own sword in hand, but he caught a glimpse at her move. He blocked the attack, and using her momentum, he used his shield to throw herself over him. The move made her drop his blade which he gladly reached.
Kent Farm
Kara spent the last two missions cooked up in her own farm in Smallville.
"This is Cat Grant reporting live, we're in Louisiana, where the attack is the least active. Though for some reason, vines are growing ever rapidly across the world. There's no confirming this mystery, but we can assure you, we'll find the answers in time." Cat Grant explained.
Kara let out a grunt of frustration throwing the remote to the floor, breaking upon contact. "Grrrrrrrr! That does it I don't care what Batman says anymore. I may not be a member of the team but that won't stop me from helping them."
Kara then ran up to the room bumping into Martha. "Kara, where are you going?"
"To get my suit, my friends need me! I'm not gonna sit here knowing they could be in trouble!" Kara exclaimed.
"What's your plan then?" Martha asked.
"Simple take the nearest Zeta beam and kick some serious butt!" Kara explained her half-baked plan to her adoptive mother.
Kara races upstairs to her room to fetch her suit.
Entering their home, Jonathan finds Martha at the bottom of the stairs, "What's going on?"
"Kara's going off to help her team." Martha explained.
"But I thought she wasn't a member of the team anymore." Jonathan said.
"Yes, but she may not be a member of the team, doesn't mean she needs to help her friends." Martha explained.
Walking down the stairs, Kara was dressed in her suit, "Are you ready, Kara?" Martha asked.
Kara stood, and exhaled very hard, "I am very nervous." She confessed.
"Why?" Jonathan asked, he of course already knew, but having Kara explain will help iron her nerves.
"If I do this, they may never let me back on the team." Kara's hands shook to the idea.
"Kara." Martha put both of her hands on Kara's shoulders, "You are a Superhero and it is your duty to keep the world safe from evil,"
"And I'll bet those friends of yours need you now more than they realize." Jonathan patted Kara's head. "Are you willing to let the Big Bat tell you
"Breaking news!" The TV suddenly went live, "Reports of one of the Villains from today's broadcast known as Black Adam was spotted in Louisiana and our view isn't clear as of right now, but he seems to be fighting someone half his size. The feed doesn't have seem clear but it looks like the individual is carrying a shield. It would appear Adam nearly has this fight in hand. We will update you more when more information is provided."
The rest of the report was no longer needed for Kara. In control of her powers or not, her friends are in danger, and she's needed. She ran out the door and flew straight for the nearby Zeta Tube outlet.
Louisiana Bayou
"There are four missing." Count Vertigo counted.
"Black Adam and Cheetah are on their way with one." Wotan explained.
"But that still leaves the remaining three." Count Vertigo replied.
"Fear not, Vertigo, Ivy will find them, the plants are on her side."
Arriving from the skies, Black Adam is flying down with Wonder Boy over his arms, and Cheetah drops from the treeline.
"At least we have one of the four now." Vertigo spoke, relieved.
Black Adam dropped Wonder Boy with the rest of the kids. Cheetah got on top of Wonder Boy. "Oh, so many ways I could end your life boy: clawing you to death, slitting your throat with my claws, or my personal favorite ripping out your heart."
"Aw does the little kitty want to play with yarn?" Wonder Boy joked.
Cheetah growled and then punched him right in the face, "You are nothing but a boy playing hero."
"You will lose, we'll find a way there's always a way." Wonder Boy said.
Vertigo laughed. "Despite your recent victories, we have the upper hand. Wotan would you kindly."
Wotan held his hands out, and he conjured a golden cage around the captured young heroes
Black Adam hauled the cage with the aid of Wotan's magic. Cheetah latched along the bars and the rest climbed up to the top. The rest of the team was unconscious while Wonder Boy was still barely conscious, he saw Cheetah staring while licking her chops. He just turned around from her gaze and just wanted a moment before losing consciousness. The thought of her brought him at ease, as he slips from his consciousness, Kara's smile brought a slimmer of relief before blacking out.
Robin, Red Arrow, and Miss Martian quietly make their way to the central hub of the injustice society, "I blocked contact with Aqualad and the others. Should we-" Miss Martian was interrupted by Robin via telepathy.
"Sorry, that's not the gig. This is." Robin removed a trickle of vines to reveal the base, "The Injustice League central control system. Looks like that plant is acting as an antenna to control the other plants worldwide."
"This telepathy thing is crazy. Much more efficient than comms." Red Arrow had to admit it until he heard a faint sound of rustle. Drawing out an arrow she had eyes on the rogues.
"Ivy!" Red Arrow called sending everyone on the offense.
"Well hello." Ivy called the three when various violent vines restrained the three. From behind another one of the villains, Ultra-Humanite arrived with an armed high-powered ballistic rifle aiming it at the three of them, "And goodbye."
Ulta Humanite was about to pull the trigger but before he could Miss Martian used her telepathic powers to redirect his blaster fire at the vines freeing them.
"Sorry Boy Wonder, I'm putting an end to your little reconnaissance mission." Ivy held out her hands and the vines started attacking the three.
Robin dodged an incoming vine, and hopped on the next while grinding off of it. Hopping for the high ground, using his acrobatic skill set to jump and swing from the branch and pounce on the nearby tree's to land safely on the ground.
Miss Martian was able to handle Ultra Humanite gunshots given her cloaking and phase shifting, but Red Arrow on the other hand wasn't going to make it easy on him to land a shot. He fired a clean hit but was thwarted by Ivy's vines luckily when it made contact it did burn the vines. Another shot went to Ultra Humanite's rifle rendering it useless thanks to its second explosion. Backflipping to avoid another band of vines he stabbed another vine with a fire and arrow up close.
Supergirl arrived just as soon as the group left the grounds, but lucky for her, a friend was left behind, "The Bioship." Supergirl flew down to the Bioship, using her xray vision she scanned the bioship seeing nobody inside. "OK, so they didn't drown, but where did they go?"
The bioship hopped back to life, and turned in a different direction, but it wouldn't move. Supergirl flew up to it, and was curious about it. The ship started nudging its right-wing tapping Supergirl in the side.
"What was that for?" Supergirl asked. She only responded with a low grumbling sound of relief, "Oh, I guess that means you missed me too?" then the ship made a more cheerful grumble.
"Well I missed you too, do you know where the team's at?" Supergirl asked and was greeted not with a response but with the ship flying off in some random direction.
Trevor slowly woke up still encaged in their trap from Wotan, "They awaken, you're certain this will hold them?" Vertigo asked.
Trevor noticed Aqualad has woken up as well.
"The cage is impenetrable. Even the Superboy has no chance of escaping." Wotan was certain.
"You are not the only one trained in the mystic arts, Wotan." Aqualad harnessed his water powers but with what power he has left it hardly left a dent.
"Please, Atlantian. Do not pretend you're in my league."
"Wonder Boy do you have any magic?" Aqualad asked.
"The only thing this bastard Amazon has is everything he never deserved." Cheetah growled, still clinging to the side of the cage near Trevor. Cheetah then grabbed the young Amazon and slammed him into the end of the cage, and held him face to face, "Everything he has was gifted to him, isn't that right?"
"No, what I have I earned, what you have you have taken from others."
"Except there's only one difference, you're in a cage, and I'm not." Cheetah glared looking deeper in the boy's gaze.
Trevor's next response was without words, but instead he held tight on Cheetah's grip, and took a hard bite on Cheetah's face till the bridge of her nose bled.
"Aauugh get this thing off me!" Cheetah had to tear herself away from the boy just to be free.
"Since when did Amazons have a better bite than a Cheetah?" Trevor spit out blood in her face. Her blood, "The tables will Turn Cheetah, count on that. And if you don't believe me, look in a mirror and let that scar settle."
"YOU! YOU!" Cheetah was about to unfurl her claws but Aqualad quickly released a jolt of electricity at her.
"As long as I am the leader of this team I will not allow you to harm a member of my team." Aqualad glared with his hand out.
"Thanks, Aqualad, tell me, would Count Vertigo say the same for you?" Trevor asked.
"I don't need to, plebeian, you're the ones in the cage which speaks more than words ever need." Vertigo spoke the truth.
From below, Robin, Red Arrow and Miss Martian struggle with more of these plants. During the struggle, Miss Martian felt a signal from someone. After dealing with the vines she could finally speak from her mind, "Robin, Red Arrow, she's made contact."
"Who?" Robin asked.
"Artemis?" Red Arrow guessed.
"No, and she's not alone!" Miss Martian sounded excited.
Just then Wonder Boy saw two things flying towards them in the distance he took a closer look and smiled. "Remember what I just said about the tables turning? It seems the tables have turned in our favor."
Shortly after, the Bioship struck Wotan, and below, the one and only Supergirl smacks Black Adam from behind his back.
The team landed in a wide puddle but they were able to land on their feet with ease. Supergirl and Wonder Boy floated easily down to the team.
Wonder Boy flew up next to Supergirl, "Supergirl, why am I not surprised."
"There was no way I was gonna let you guys do this alone, good I came when I did. You needed the help." Supergirl smiled as she raised her hand up.
Wonder Boy smiled, "You're the best, Supergirl!" Wonder Boy reached for a high-five.
Supergirl responded by returning the high five.
"Hey fight now flirt later!" Kid Flash barked.
"WE'RE NOT FLIRTING!" Wonder Boy and Supergirl shrieked in unison.
Ultra-Humanite arrives with his rifle fully repaired, "I hate monkeys!" Superboy enraged and yells with a hard punch to follow. Along with a ferocious bite from Wolf.
Aqualad and Artemis are met with Poison Ivy, who summoned more vines they reached for their weapons but quickly realized they were unarmed. "Ah I feel naked, and not in a fun way." Artemis said shamefully.
"In a fun way?" Wonder Boy caught that line.
Poison Ivy hurled the vines at them to which they dodged.
"We will make our own fun, as we have been trained." Aqualad ran for Artemis, "Maneuver seven."
Artemis used Aqualad's push off the ground to soar high and land a well earned kick to Ivy's face.
Kid Flash picked himself up to find Count Vertigo being landed safely by Black Adam. Kid Flash ran straight for the two, but Vertigo unleashed another wave of sonic pulses to render Kid Flash in a daze. The closer he made it to Vertigo he came slower to the point of stopping right in front of the two. Which gave Black Adam to opening to smack him aside.
"Where are Robin, and the Martian?" Vertigo asked.
"And the other archer?" Cheetah asked until she caught the edge of Wonder Boy's shield.
"Wouldn't you like to know bad kitty!" Wonder Boy glared.
She has had it with this kid, and his sass, "You will suffer for what you did to my face!" Cheetah pounced away from Wonder Boy's grip and charged straight to him, claws at the ready.
Ultra Humanite swatted Superboy's grip and threw over Wolf down in the swampy water.
Supergirl rushed to help Wonder Boy but she was blasted by a green burst of energy sending her flying towards Superboy
Supergirl groaned a little from the pain from the heat she looked to see a cyborg with menacing green eyes walking toward her. "So you're Superman's little proteges."
"And you are?" Superboy asked.
"This is Metallo." Supergirl answered. "Superman told me about him once."
"Ah I'm glad at least one of you has done your homework. Why don't the three of us have a chat, but come closer I trouble hearing from afar." Metallo said as he held his chest.
Superboy attempted to charge but he was stopped by Supergirl. "NO! He has a Krytonite heart, if we get too close he'll use it on us!"
Superboy was already too far to hear her cousin. Metallo opened his chest releasing the energy of his kryptonite heart at the young Kryptonians, the energy from the Kryponite caused their power to deteriorate rapidly.
"Oh what's thi-." Superboy dropped like a lizard under a hot son.
"No." Supergirl struggled to stay on her feet. As Metallo walked closer to her, "Oh such disappointing students Superman's taken under his cape. Already falling to my feet Superman always put up much more of a fight. Oh well." Metallo then transformed his hand into a giant chainsaw. The teeth were laced with Kryptonite.
Wonder Boy wasn't faring any better against Cheetah, she was proving too fast with her animal abilities. She wrapped her body around him to keep him subdued while she noticed Metallo preparing to carve Supergirl in two, "Well well, Wonder Boy, big metal man is about to have his way with your little friend. Do you wanna watch?"
Cheetah grabbed Wonder Boys face and turned his head into the direction, "The fast friend of yours, what did he tell you, were you flirting with this girl?"
Wonder Boy was silent to her question, he won't give her the satisfaction, "Strong silent type, I think I know the answer now. Then allow me to say, that'll be fun watching the lil Kryptonian sawed in two. And you will be hopeless when her life becomes no more! The most perfect vengeance when I do the same to you in front of Wonder Woman!"
"Supergirl!" Wonder Boy growled angrily. Sensing a burning spark in his fingertips. The spark is summoning the strength Wonder Boy needs to flip her off of him slamming her to the ground then grabbing Cheetah by her tail and throwing her directly at Metallo.
"I'm gonna have fun with-" Metallo didn't finish his sentence before Cheetah hit him, sending him to the ground. Wonder Boy then grabbed Metallo throwing him away with an unexpected feat of strength.
"Wonder Boy?" Supergirl groaned with the pain slowly dissipating from the Kryptonite.
"Supergirl." Wonder Boy helped Supergirl onto her feet.
"Eeggh! Your hands are burning." Normally fire wouldn't harm a Kryptonian but since the Kryptonite has drastically weakened her she's vulnerable, or was it something else?
"You and Superboy take care of Cheetah, Kryptonite has no effect on me." Wonder Boy looked at Superboy as he was just getting up.
"Go beat up Metallo, we'll handle the bad cat." Supergirl smiled.
Wonder Boy nodded and then turned to Metallo who was getting back onto his feet, "And who might you be young man?"
"I'm the Amazon who's immune to your Kryptonite." Wonder Boy Drew out his sword, while Metallo revved up his chainsaw.
Poison Ivy threw a vine over to smack Artemis away. In the middle of her fighting, she felt her central plant calling her, "My baby." Ivy looked back at her plant and saw explosive bird-a-rangs and arrows. The explosion went off loud and with a rumble. The sound of the plant in pain can actually be heard
Robin, Miss Martian, and Red Robin were up above the structure with fires blazing the plants into ash, "Timber." Robin said.
Ivy then grew angry and threw what plants she had left over at the three kids.
They missed their target but new ones were being found, the two Kryptonians were in need of how sensitive the plants can be.
"You seriously upset over a stupid plant? Here's an idea have a real child. Seriously I hear a lot of good things about dating." Supergirl suggested to Ivy while fighting Cheetah.
"Like I'm gonna take relationship advice from a twelve-year-old girl." Ivy spat.
"And your ideas are any better?" Supergirl replied.
"Oh as much as I'd love that for her, but I wish the same could be said for you when I slice that pretty little neck open!" Cheetah glared but was instantly kicked in the gut but Superboy, "Not gonna happen, bad kitty."
Metallo pressed the arm saw into Wonder Boys shield but he saw it was having little to no effect in cutting through it. Using the advantage, Wonder Boy flung Metallo's arm away and took a slice at him with his blade. Wonder Boy then went in for his final attack he reached into his chest and grabbed his Kryptonite heart ripping it clean out.
"No NO! My heart, give it back!" Metallo demanded.
"OK." Wonder Boy then threw it with his super strength sending it flying into the air. "Go get it."
"You wretched, puny-" Metallo let out before collapsing to the ground, shutting down.
Wonder Boy then sighed. "He'll be fine, he's a machine after all."
Supergirl and Superboy were putting Cheetah in a world of hurt.
"So tell me kids, how is the big Superman?" Cheetah asked.
Supergirl and Superboy exchanged glances, "I wouldn't know, the big man prefers not to talk to me. Though on the contrary, I have my cousin here, she's got a mean hook, just like me." Supergirl and Superboy both laid a mean right hook to her face knocking out one of her fangs and knocking her out in the process.
"Did you really mean that?" Supergirl had to ask.
"Of course I did." Superboy said then held his fist out for a fist bump.
"You're the best, Supey!" Supergirl returned the fist bump.
The two were instantly stunned and immobilized by Wotans magic. The rest of the team were in the same bind, and the last was Miss Martian who landed near Aqualad. She looked up at him and he looked down on her, "Plan B." Aqualad said.
Miss Martian called the Bioship and from above while invisible it dropped a dufflebag. Aqualad reached down opening up the duffel bag pulling out the Helmet of Fate.
"The Helmet of Fate." Wotan called out.
"No Aqualad, don't!" Kid Flash cried until Black Adam kicked him in the face. Superboy followed punching Adam right in the face sending him flying.
"Oh dude." Kid Flash looked over to Nabu.
Aqualad under the control of Nabu floated to meet with Wotan, "Wotan you are mine."
Wotan struck first, but Nabu's strike pierced right through Wotans blast and morphed into chains.
Back with the team on the ground, Robin was spotted by the Prince of Clowns himself, "Wonderboy, you are mine." The Joker held a knife.
Joker sliced through Robin, but his nimble agility kept him from getting any hits, "You do know Wonder Boy is over there, right?"
Joker stood for a moment, "True, but I've always wanted to carve my favorite bird." Joker charged straight to Robin with another knife in both hands.
"Solvo quod reverto." Wotan broke free from the chains. The chains were fired back to Nabu, but he absorbed them through his sigil powers.
"Wotan has prepared for your return, Doctor." Wotan raised more of his powers, "Fulmin venite!" He fired at Nabu and his power struck through Nabu's shield.
As Nabu flew up to return the favor, Miss Martian was invisible struggling to avoid Poison Ivy's plants, "I can't see you, Martian, but perhaps I'll hear you scream."
"And perhaps I can be of assistance." Vertigo unleashed his power once more, and it worked like a charm. Miss Martian is exposed and is vulnerable.
Before they could strike, Kid Flash swiped a piece of Vertigo's jacket giving the two a brief distraction for Artemis to land a solid kick on Vertigo and Red Arrow to send a solid sweep under Poison Ivy's leg.
The three regrouped with Kid Flash so Artemis can mend his arm, "Hey that's my souvenir."
"Hold still." Artemis finished patching her makeshift armband for Kid Flash.
Before Kid Flash could thank
"Should we help Nabu?" Wonder Boy asked Supergirl.
"No, our focus has to be on helping the others. Come on." Supergirl ordered.
"You're right." Wonder Boy did not argue, she was right. From the corner of Supergirl's sight, she noticed a beam seconds away from hitting Wonder Boy. By the time it made impact supergirl was stunned she turned to see it was Atomic Skull another arch enemy of Superman, "Supergirl, I'm a huge fan of your teacher."
"Great another whackjob Supervillain has decided to join the party." Wonder Boy said equipping his weapons.
"Wanna tag team this one, Wonder Boy?" Supergirl smiled at him.
"Thought you'd never ask, Supergirl." Wonder Boy smiled in return to her.
"Tell us where have you been?" Wonder Boy demanded to know.
"Your friend Speedy kept me occupied, but he split when a couple of your friends were in danger. I guess I'll have to settle with you two." Atomic Skull smiled.
"It's Red Arrow, Atomic Skull!" Supergirl correct
"And totally now what I was asking, but we'll get our answers." Wonder Boy spat.
Atomic Skull crunched his knuckles then powered up his fists and charged straight for the two kids.
"Don't let his energy touch you!" Supergirl shrieked.
Unfortunately, Supergirl's warning was too late Atomic Skull released a blast of energy sending the two of them crashing into the trees. Wonder Boy groaned in pain he looked up to see his skin sizzling from the radiation blast. "Ow."
Atomic Skull fired again at Wonder Boy but he was ready this time and blocked the shot with his shield.
"Let me!" Supergirl responded, and aimed her gaze at Atomic Skull and was prepared to lay her heat vision on him but there was nothing but spark again.
"Oh, do you need lessons? Allow me to give you your first taste of heat vision." Atomic Skull redirected her Atomic beam from Wonder Boy to Supergirl. Atomic Skull unleashed his blast hitting Supergirl directly in the chest, the heat from the blast left a bad burn on her chest scorching a part of her suit.
"YOU PIECE OF CRAP!" Wonder Boy flew straight for Atomic Skull and started wailing heavy punches on him with full force.
The force sent the villain crashing into a tree stunning him. Using the opportunity Wonder Boy flew over to Kara to check on her. "Are you okay?" Wonder Boy asked.
"Yeah just weak from Metallo's Kryptonite. I'm not at full power, that must be why he was able to hurt me." Supergirl said.
"Don't worry as long as we fight together we have a chance." Wonder Boy helped her back to her feet. "Ready?"
"Born ready!" Supergirl made their way beating the crap out of Atomic Skull.
Supergirl was the first to strike with a kick, and followed by a hard punch from Wonder Boy. Another kick from Supergirl's other foot, with a kick from Wonder Boy. In perfect rhythmic sequence, Supergirl followed with a punch and Wonder Boy followed with a kick to Atomic Skull's chest. Both nodded at each other and they both gave him a very well-deserved kick in the chest.
All the strength from both a Kryptonian and Amazon, Atomic Skull went out cold like a light.
"Whoo now that's what I call teamwork!" Wonder Boy waved his fists like he was boxing.
In the swamps, Robin fought hand to hand with the Joker, "Quite a nimble bird, aren't you?"
"Now you notice?" Robin asked, "How about a joke of my own?" Robin is getting the Joker's attention as they continue their fight.
"Ooh tell me." Joker said as he took a huge lunge for Robin with both knives.
"What do you get when a bird meets a bat, during the night?" Robin asked as he continued dodging.
"And what is that?" The Joker asked.
Robin's punchline was responded with one retractable metal rod. When Joker made another thrust Robin deflected it, and wrapped his wrist locking it in place, and he threw Joker across the swamp. Robin leaped over at the Joker to deliver his final knock on the head, rendering the Joker unconscious, "You go night night!" Robin laughed as he tied the Joker in binds.
Kid Flash was handling Ultra-Humanite until he noticed an incoming projectile, "Hold your breath, KF!" Robin called to Kid Flash via telepathy. Robin rigged the birdarang not with explosives, but with a light dose of tear gas.
The blast sent Ultra Humanite into a fit of screaming and blindness. The moment gave Kid Flash to dash out.
From behind, Kid Flash noticed Black Adam and Superboy fighting, making his way out of the fighting zone, he found Wonder Boy and Supergirl.
"Where were you two and why are your clothes scorched?" Kid Flash asked.
"Don't worry about us worry about yourself, what wrong with your arm?" Wonderboy asked.
Supergirl walked over to Kid Flash and used her x-ray vision. "Oh no, that's a pretty bad break."
"Don't worry, metabolism should have it healed in a few days. Good to have you back Supergirl." Kid Flash was relievd.
"No better place to be." Supergirl smiled.
With over half of the Injustice League out for the count or immobilized, Wotan held his hands, refusing defeat. Firing another shot at Nabu, he had him just where he needs him, "I can defeat you and I will!"
"Ekirts natoW nwod!" Zatara subdued Wotan before he could make another shot at Nabu, "Not tonight, Wotan."
Zatara arrived along with the rest of the League.
Green Lantern brought all of the flightless hero's with his ring
Seeing as how they stood no chance against the team and the League the Injustice society raised their hands up in surrender.
"It's over." Batman spoke true.
"There will be another day." Vertigo swore.
"Another day? Another day! There won't be another day!" Joker used his gloves to release his gas around the whole area.
"Joker venom spores. Don't breathe." Batman shouted as he punched Joker out.
"Fear not!" Nabu used his magic to absorb the gas, "Fate has intervened."
After the gas has been cleaned, and the villains taken away, all that was left was the League and their assessment on the team.
"What were you thinking?" Kid Flash walked over to Nabu, "How could you let him put on the helmet? Nabu will never release him now. Kaldur will be trapped inside Dr. Fate forever.
Dr. Fate stood silent and still for a while until he removed the helmet, which sent a slight shock to the team.
"Nabu let you go?" Kid Flash ran over to his friend.
"He almost did not. But your friend Kent was most helpful. He says hello, and hopes you'll give his love to his grandson Michael. Says he'll be ready to wake up before the end of the month." Aqualad smiled.
"Were done here. The supervillain secret society has been neutralized. As for your performance…" Batman ran through the results based on the field reports from other members, "Joker was in binds before we arrived, Metallo and Cheetah were out of commission before we arrived, Ultra Humanite was subdued as we arrived. Atomic Skull was knocked unconscious before we arrived. Ivy and Vertigo were subdued as we arrived. It was slightly more exceptional than I anticipated. On the other hand given your thir party intervention."
Batman walked over to Supergirl with a mean look. "I thought I made it clear that you are suspended and to not interfere."
"Please forgive me Batman, I couldn't just sit this out." Supergirl looked down away from Batman's glare.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't fire you where you stand?" Batman was dead serious.
"Because she helped us!" Wonder Boy defended her, "If it wasn't for her this could've gone south badly. I know she hurt me, and she's still learning to control her powers, but I can say with full confidence she's ready to get back on our team!"
"I will decide that Wonder Boy."
Aqualad had to stop this, "With all due respect, Batman, Supergirl was a part of this team, and as Leader of this team, I trust Wonder Boy in this decision." Aqualad stepped up beside Trevor.
"I'm with Aqualad, I'm pretty sure we deserve to have a say whether Supergirl is ready to come back." Miss Martian added.
"No way you're letting her off after the help she gave us." Superboy defended.
The team came to Supergirl's defense.
"Very well but know this if she loses control again Kara will be removed from the team permanently." Batman looked over at Supergirl, "Consider yourself reinstated, Supergirl for now."
The tension from the moment lifted away from her body. The moment made her knee's shake, but the team helped keep her standing.
"We're all back!" Wonder Boy shouted.
"Heck yeah." Supergirl grabbed Wonder Boy pulling him into a tight hug.
"Oh so-" Kid Flash was about to make a comment on the two, but Artemis kept his mouth shut.
"Don't KF, let'em have this one. We got our second Kryptonian back." Artemis claimed.
"Ehh, fair." Kid Flash had to admit.
"Kara, you're crushing me." Wonder Boy groaned through the pain.
"Oh, sorry!" Supergirl let him go upon realizing she was hurting him.
"OK, that's a mean grip you got. You good there, Wonder Boy?" Robin joked.
Wonder Boy clutched his chest, groaning but giving a thumbs up. "Yeah…yeah, just… need a minute." Wonder Boy shook off the pain in his shoulders.
"Let's get back to base, everyone." Aqualad smiled.
"Yeah we love earned a celebration, we beat the Injustice Society, and we got our friend back in the team!" Kid Flash cheered.
Mt. Justice
The pizza is fresh and the drinks are in great variety. Kid Flash and Supergirl were absolutely over the moon given their metabolism. The music wasn't much from a loud boom box, but the ambiance was appreciated.
Trevor sat there deep in focus deep in the swill of his lime soda.
It wasn't until someone nudged him out of his deep train of thought, "Are you okay Trevor, come on have some pizza." Kara offered, handing him a plate.
"Somethings bothering me, Kara." Trevor stepped up, and walked over to the central computer.
"Trevor, what're you doing?" Aqualad asked.
"Kaldur, Robin, help me out here." Trevor tried to pull up the computer.
Robin walked up beside Trevor, "What do you need looked up?" Kid Flash walked up with a slice of Pizza.
The rest of the team followed, along with Roy.
"Bring the reports on the central hub station of the Injustice Society." Trevor requested.
"Okay." Robin went over to the computer and pulled up all the files from the mission.
"Well its all here, Trevor. Do you see something?" Robin asked.
"Yeah, we tore that place inside out for information, and there's no record or any evidence of my blood the Brain took."
"Well it could be a coincidence." Kid Flash commented.
"Holy smokes, he's right." Robin realized, "If all this adds up right, this could mean that-" Robin crunched the numbers again.
"What does this mean?" Kid Flash asked.
"It means that this wasn't the real supervillain threat." Supergirl concluded.
"It was a setup." Aqualad realized, "They knew we were getting close."
"And now they're back in the dark." Robin added.
"Well this party just took a downturn." Artemis added.
"We need to inform the Justice League." Trevor advised.
"Already on it." Robin assured as he sent the message to Batman.
"So what do we do now?" Miss Martian asked.
"We can always go back and finish our pizza." Wally suggested.
"I'm actually in the mood for some pizza now." Trevor had to admit, "We have a member of our team back, we can celebrate for that still."
"Of course, you'd say that, however you're not wrong." Artemis snickered.
"Unfortunately I've had my fill guys so I'll be heading out now." Roy admitted.
"Oh c'mon Roy!" Wally complained, "We all made a good team today, and that includes Artemis."
"I'm sorry what?" Artemis asked and then smacked him behind his head.
"Look you guys are great and all but I have a dream of joining the Justice League, and yeah you were right Trevor. This team can help me get to the League, but right now I'd prefer to do things solo." Roy stood firm in his beliefs.
"We won't stop you, Roy, but since you're going out solo, I don't suppose we can still count on you for keeping tabs on Trevor's blood?" Aqualad asked.
"Now that I can do. I'll see you guys." Roy was about to leave through the Zeta tubes.
"Recognized, Red Arrow B-0-6"
Roy looked back at the team, "For helping us out today." Robin gave Roy the thumbs up.
"I'll keep my ears open for any leads, c'ya guys." Roy left through the zeta tubes.
"Well, that was nice of him, hope he gets into the league." Supergirl said then turned to Trevor. "Now Trevor, don't be so serious right now, I'm back on the team, let's celebrate!" Kara shoved a slice of Pizza in his mouth.
The entire team except Kaldur laughed. Red Arrow may not have joined but they have Supergirl back on the team.
"Aw that is so sweet." Miss Martian cooed.
"Not as sweet as your baking, M'gann!" Wally laid his arm over her shoulders.
Wally's response was met with someone throwing pizza directly at his face. "Will you stop it Wally Miss Martian doesn't reciprocate your feelings."
"Yeah, I've said it before and I'll say it again, you would have better chances with Artemis." Wonder Boy spat.
"Like I'd ever want to hang out with…" Wally trailed off.
"What?!" Artemis demanded.
"I can't argue right now, you helped me today with my arm. So…thanks." Kid Flash thanked.
"Oh… Well thanks, Wally." Artemis replied a bit stunned to hear that.
After the moment seeped out from the eating, Wally has had his fill, "OK, I'm gonna go home now." Wally then left for the Zeta tube.
As soon as Wally was gone Trevor said to Kara. "I really want to tell him about Connor and M'gann. I'm surprised he hasn't noticed."
"For a genius, he isn't very bright." Trevor said.
The two kids just laughed at their own comments over their two friends.
"It's so good to be back!" Supergirl couldn't be more relieved
"Come on it hasn't been that long." Trevor assured.
"Yeah, well see it from my side of the story, and you'll know how this feels." Kara explained.
Trevor sighed. "Fair enough."
"Any updates on Michael?" Kara asked.
"None that I know of. All I know is Zatara's gonna work his magic on him soon." Trevor explained.
"Well, I guess we better turn in, tonight. See you tomorrow?" Kara suggested.
"Count on it!" Trevor offered a fist bump, which she returned.
"Looking forward to the next mission!" Supergirl was excited as the two of them made their leave for home.
