Just a small one shot that was stuck in my head after watching a movie. Hope you like it!

The Nanny will be updates soon, and then I am going to be working on some of my other stories.

It had been two months since I shocked the royal council, telling them that I was going to break down the Isle barrier, and a month since the barrier had come down. We were hosting a ball at the castle for all the kingdom and the Isle residents to join. I was getting ready in my room, when someone knocked on my door.

"Come in," I said as it continued to tie my tie.

"Ben?" I heard my mom say, making me turn around to face her. "Are you almost ready?"

I smiled and nodded my head, after seeing how pretty she looked. She was wearing a pastel yellow matte satin off-the-shoulder ball gown. It had a diagonally draped bodice and buttons down to waist with a cathedral train.

"You look beautiful, mom," I said as I walked up and kissed her cheek.

"Thank you, sweetheart," she said as she smiled at me. "Would you like some help?" She asked as she pointed to my tie.

"I can tie my tie," I told her, making her laugh.

"I know," she said as she grabbed it and started to tie it. "But, I can still be your mother and tie it for you."

I shook my head and laughed as she tied my tie. I know she loved doing these small things. I may be 24, but if it made her happy I was going to let her do them.

"There," she said as she patted the lapels of my vest and smiled up at me. "You look as handsome as ever."

"All I need is my coat," I said as I turned to walk to my bed.

I had the feeling that I was forgetting something, but I couldn't, for the life of me, remember what it was.

"Are you forgetting something?" My mom asked, making me turn to look at her.

She was holding my crown in her hands, and I sighed looking at it. You would have thought that after being king for 8 years, I wouldn't forget my crown.

"Thanks, mom," I said as I buttoned up my coat and stood in front of her.

She placed the crown on my head, before tilting it to the side, and making me laugh again. Whenever my mom fixed my appearance, she always tilted my crown on my head. I knew she was going to annoy me, but I grew to love it and it always made me think of her.

"Are you ready?" She asked as I fixed my crown.

"Yeah," I said with a nod. "I just hope that everything goes well."

"Nothing bad has happened yet," she told me. "I know that we were very skeptical when you said that you wanted to break down the barrier, but I have to say," she said, making me look at her. "You were right."

I know it had been almost 30 years with the barrier over the Isle, and I had always felt this connection to it, and this sense of wonder. I wanted to give the villains a second chance. A chance to be a part of Auradon.

"You keep listening to your heart," she told me. "You have made your father and I so proud."

"That is all I wanted," I said as I held my arm out for her to take. "May I escort you to your husband?" I asked, making her chuckle.

"Let's go," she said, before the both of us walked out of my room to join the rest of the royals.

"So, the Isle girl residents and the princesses and girls of Auradon are going to be announced?" Aziz asked as everyone else waited at the bottom of the staircase.

"Yep," Ben said as shoved his hands into his pockets.

"You're the king," Ryder said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "And you're not going to be formally announced?"

"Not today," Ben said. "This is us interacting with the Isle residents ever. I don't want a big fan fair for me."

"But the girls of both kingdoms are different?" Doug asked.

"I don't know," Ben said. "I'm just going along with what the council said to do."

They nodded their heads before Chad walked over with a smirk on his face.

"So, who are you all going to escort to the dance floor?" He asked.

"I have to be last," Ben said as he fixed his cuffs. "And you know who always makes sure that she is last so she could have the first dance with me."

"You would think, after you guys broke up 6 years ago, that she would stop but she doesn't," Ryder said.

"I will gladly dance with Audrey," Chad said.

"And I would gladly let you, but it's about placement," Ben said as he shook his head. "And she makes sure that she is the last to enter."

Everyone shook their heads and chuckled as Ben grew a little irritated.

"Snow asked me to escort her sister. Her name is Evilyn, and Snow said that she is going to be the third to last to be announced," Doug said.

"Snow has a sister?" Chad asked.

"Yeah," Doug said. "You know the Evil Queen has a daughter? Which makes her Snow's sister. You know, like how your cousins and aunts are here."

"I see," Chad said. "What about the rest of you?"

"I don't know, but look," Aziz said as he pointed across the room.

They all looked to see people they had never seen before enter the room. They were dressed very nicely, but you could tell that these were the Isle residents. One of them pointed to Ben, making three others look in his direction. They walked over, making Ben grow a lump in his throat.

"Hello, your majesty," one said as he bowed to Ben and the rest copied his actions. "My name is Jayden Jabar, son of Jafar, but you may call me Jay."

As Jay stood up, Ben held his hand out for him to shake.

"I'm Ben," he said. "And just Ben. No need for titles."

Jay nodded his head and smiled before shaking the king's hand.

"It is very nice to meet you," Jay said. "These are some of my friends," he said as he turned to the three other guys behind him.

"I'm Carlos DeVil, son of Cruella," Carlos said as he walked up and shook Ben's hand.

"I'm Gillian Rogers, son of… um… Gaston, but you can call me Gil," Gil said as he slowly raised his hand up for Ben to shake.

"You don't have to be nervous around me," Ben said as he squeezed Gil's hand. "What our parents did in their past does not make who we are today."

Gil smiled and nodded before he sighed in relief. He was nervous about meeting the royal family. He didn't know how they were going to treat him, after what his father did all those years ago.

"Aye, my name is Harrison Hook," the last guy said as he walked up to Ben. "I am the son of Captain Killian James Hook, but I go by Harry."

"It's very nice to meet you all," Ben said. "These are my friends. "Chad Charming, Doug Dwarfson, Aziz Ali, and Ryder Fitzherbert."

"Hey," Aziz said as he pointed to Jay. "Want to steal something later?" He asked with a smile and wink.

Jay laughed before nodding his head, and before Aziz playfully punched his arm. They stood and talked for a moment, before Lumier cleared his throat.

"If I could please have your attention," he said, making everyone turn to him. "May the gentlemen who will be escorting form a line at the bottom of the stairs, I will begin the introductions."

"We have to stand in a line?" Jay asked as he turned to Ben.

"I have no clue what is going on," he said. "This was the council's idea."

"So, we don't know who we are going to escort?" Carlos asked.

"The only one I know is the girl I will be escorting, because she makes it that way," Ben said as he shook his head.

"It's going to be the luck of the draw," Chad said.

"Uma's not going to like that, if you have to escort someone else," Jay said as he nudged Harry's shoulder.

"If, mate, if," Harry said as he walked to stand in line. The line was long, but it wasn't as long as they thought it was going to be. Lumier started to announce the girls, and it was a mix of Auradon and aisle girls. It was coming down to the final introductions and the only guys left there standing were Aziz, Ryder, Jay, Carlos, Harry, Doug, Chad, Gil, and Ben in that order.

"Announcing, Princess Ruby Fitzherbert of Corona," Lumier said.

Ruby walked down in her pale pink ball gown, and Aziz gave her his arm.

"Announcing, Lady Freida Facilier, daughter of Dr. Facilier."

Ryder walked forward and offered her his arm, before walking her into the ballroom. Ben started to sway back and forth, getting bored. He knew who he was dancing with, and just wanted to get it over with already.

"Announcing, Princess Lonnie Shang, of China."

Jay swallowed the lump in his throat, before he walked up and snaked Lonnie's arm through his. He was so nervous, but had to admit that Lonnie was very pretty.

"Announcing, Jane Coggs, daughter of The Fairy Godmother and Cogsworth."

Jane was shaky as she made her way down the stairs. She didn't want to make a fool of herself. She wasn't a princess. She didn't normally get announced like this, but Belle and Adam had insisted on it. Now, she was just trying not to trip on her long dress. Once she was at the bottom of the staircase, a hand came into her view, making her look up. She wasn't expecting the warm smile she got from the white haired boy, but it made her feel better. She gently took his hand, before he led her into the ballroom.

"Announcing, Lady Uma Eladis, daughter of Ursula and Dr. Facilier."

Harry smirked to himself as he watched his girlfriend walk down the staircase. She was wearing a teal mermaid dress with an overlay skirt that was wrapped around her waist.

"You look like a dream, love," he said as he kissed her hand.

"Shut up," she said with a chuckle as they walked into the ballroom together.

"Announcing, Princess Evilyn Grimhild, daughter of Queen Regina Grimhild."

Doug almost fell when he saw Evie enter the room and make her way down the stairs. She was wearing a ball gown with a sweetheart neckline, and sparkles everywhere. He held his hand out for her to take, before she gave him a kind smile, and they disappeared into the ballroom.

"Hope I get a pretty one," Chad said as he looked up at the staircase.

Ben shook his head. He really hated how shallow Chad was when it came to girls he dated, but he knew that it would fade one day, because he treats his sisters with nothing but the utmost respect.

"Announcing, Princess Mallory Drakos, daughter of Maleficent and Lord Hades."

Ben looked up to see the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. She had long, beautiful, and curled purple hair. Her skin was pale, but her cheeks were rosy. She had plump pink lips and glorious green eyes. She was wearing a beautiful eggplant purple scoop neck lace appliqued satin ball gown, and it hugged her waist perfectly. Chad was about to walk up and hold his hand out to her, but Ben pushed him away and walked to the staircase. She gave him slightly wide eyes, before she slowly took his hand. He guided them into the ballroom, not caring about the looks that he was. Getting from the other royals in the room. He led her into the ballroom, and took the spot in the middle of the dance floor.

"Hi," he said as he peeked at her from the side.

"Hello," she said as a flush crept up on her cheeks. "I was not expecting to be dancing with the king tonight," she said in a low voice as Chad walked in with Jordan.

"Why?" He asked.

"Well, your friend Audrey, and what a delight she is," she said, making Ben chuckle. "Said that you were always the last to escort in."

"She would be correct," he said as Audrey walked in with Gil.

She had a scowl on her face, and when she saw Ben with Mal, she went into shock. She normally would have made a scene, but they were in front of the entire kingdom, and she wasn't going to embarrass her family tonight.

"She doesn't look happy," Mal said.

"Well normally, I'm the one not happy," he said a s the music started and he turned to face her.

"And why is that?" She asked as he placed a hand on her waist and she put her hand on his shoulder.

They started to move across the floor so effortlessly, like they had done this a million times.

"Because she is my ex-girlfriend," he said, making her look at him with a slightly shocked expression.

"I would have thought you two were together, by the way she talks about you."

"Why?" He asked as they continued to sway across the dance floor, moving around people as they did. "What did she say about me?"

"That you two were together," she said with a laugh. "She said that she always had the first dance with you, because a king dances with his queen before anyone else."

"I can definitely assure you that we are not together anymore," he said.

"I know," she said. "I was technically supposed to be dancing with Gil," she said as she nudged her head toward Gil and Audrey. "Your friend Jordan stood between Audrey and I, because she was more than less than kind to me."

"Why?" He asked.

"Well, my mother in Maleficent for one," she said, making him chuckle. "She hates me by association. Jordan also said that she is very hung up on you."

"That's her problem," he said. "She is… different, in her ways of thinking. And I thought that you thought that we were together?"

"I don't know if my friends talked with you, but if they did, I bet they didn't mention how sassy I am," she said as she smirked at him.

"They didn't mention you at all, which I should consider a crime," he said, making her laugh.

"So, your majesty," she said, making him look into her beautiful green eyes. "What, per say, are you thinking?"

He smiled before the music sped up a little, before he smiled back down at her and started to sing.

Ten minutes ago I saw you

I looked up when you came through the door

She chuckled as he guided her around the dance floor.

My head started reeling

You gave me the feeling

The room had no ceiling or floor

Ten minutes ago I met you

And we murmured our how-do-you-do's

I wanted to ring out the bells

And fling out my arms and to sing out the news

Everyone was watching Ben and Mal now. The others had stopped dancing, but Ben and Mal didn't notice, because they were lost in their own world. And no one noticed both sets of their parents smiling as they watched their kids.

I have found her, she's an angel

With the dust of the stars in her eyes

We are dancing, we are flying

And she's taking me back to the skies

In the arms of my love i'm flying

Over mountain and meadow and glen

And I like it so well, that for all I can tell

I may never come down again

I may never come down to earth again.

She laughed as they continued to dance. She didn't know why, but she felt very comfortable around him. She didn't know if it was because he was confident in himself or if it was because he had this gleam in his eyes that made her feel warm. She smiled before she started to sing.

Ten minutes ago I met you

And we murmured our how-do-you-do's

I wanted to ring out the bells

And fling out my arms and to sing out the news

He smiled brightly at her. He didn't know what was coming over him, but he liked it. He was never this forward with a girl, but she wasn't just any ordinary girl. She was different.

I have found her

He sang as he spun her around the dance floor.

I have found him

She sang back as she smiled brightly at him. Everyone in the room was watching the interaction. They were shocked to see the couple in such a trance that they didn't notice that they were the only two dancing.

"So, Beast," Hades said, making Adam turn to him. "Looks like our kids hit it off."

"It would appear so," Adam said as he watched his son dance around with Hades' daughter.

"It also looks like your wife is about to cry," he said as he pointed to Belle who was patting her eyes with a handkerchief.

Adam shook his head and chuckled. "She has never seen Ben this concentrated on a girl," he said. "I think she is just happy."

"If it makes you feel better," Hades said. "My Mally has never been this entranced into talking with someone."

They smiled at each other, before turning to watch their kids again just as both Ben and Mal started to sing and dance out onto the balcony outside.

In the arms of my love I'm flying

Over mountain and meadow and glen

And I like it so well

That for all I can tell

I may never come down again

I may never come down to earth again

They twirled under the stars, not taking their eyes off the other, and not realizing that they had danced out of the ball. The music faded and they started to slow their pace.

"So, what were you thinking again?" She asked as the music continued to fade.

She chucked and smiled before he put his index finger under her chin, and pulled her in for a soft kiss. Their lips felt warm and perfect against each other's. There was an explosion in both of their chest as the kiss lingered. He moved his hands to her waist as she brought hers up to his hair. He felt her tilt his crown to the side of his head, making them both laugh, and ending their kiss.

"You tilted my crown," he said with a joyous smile on his head.

He immediately thought of his mom when he felt the crown tilt, which he thought was weird, but she was the only one who would ever tilt his crown until now. It warmed his heart, because that was something he loved.

"I did," she said with a cheeky smile. "It suits you."

"I have been told," he said before he pulled her in for another kiss, and before they had to go back in and mingle for the rest of the night.
