Author Notes:
Hello! Here's the actual Chapter 14!
I haven't really dropped a full chapter in over two years, my bad. Been dealing with work, art, etc etc...
As usual updates will be a toss up and I'll reply to the latest comments, please do enjoy the chapter!
Teeheee: Yeah I remember that! Man 616 Wolverine is a dick at times, lol… However, I've heard that Logan will sometimes say messed up things in order to get people to let out pent up frustration. Most likely from the fact that he can't die no matter what they do anyway. (Or, maybe he just gets a kick out of it because he's nearly 200 years old with nothing else to do…) Either way, good times… XD
BobIsBadAtEnglish: Yeah, I've been planning how I want things to go for a while. And I believe I know exactly how to approach the next few chapters. Now I just have to actually write them.
El-lectro327: Thanks a ton man, it means a lot to hear the good wishes… I can't wait to show y'all what I have cooking up too!
QDtrident: Heh, in due time my friend. Eventually he'll open up to these people trying to help him out.
Champions ET: You know I went back to reread my stuff for the revisions, and while plenty of it is definitely in need of MAJOR polish and change. I actually don't mind the overall direction I took.
Luke: You do bring up a good point, and some versions of Peter probably wouldn't mind sharing his identity with the X-Men since they already know that Parker has powers. But, with the fact that this is a Peter that lost Gwen not too long ago, I feel like he'd want Spider-Man and Peter to remain seperate for as long as possible. Tho you'll see how long they stay separate in this story .
P6lishb6sker: Oh believe me, rereading my stuff and seeing the glaring issues has been cringe-inducing to say the least…
Ykomat: Thank You! Glad you like my story so far!
bleacherspam1: I'll try my best! Glad you're enjoying what I'm cooking up!
Sansman212: 1. I'm glad you love it, I've been having fun looking back at my earlier chapters!
2. Hmmmm… I'm not telling, but they're dynamic should start shifting soon however :D
Starfire202010: Thank you for the kind words, and yes I do understand your complaints. I will not lie, midway through there was a little change from the original plans. Which was much more edgy as I realized I enjoyed reading and writing the more slice of life/fun interactions. However I never intended him finally suiting up would be the end of his guilt, no no no… Plenty more will come.
Guest: Trust me, I know the feeling, and I apologize for promising something I couldn't hold myself to. I've been trying to sit down and write but I've taken so much more interest in other things lately. I do think about this every now and then and where to go next. Problem is motivation to actually do so…
Smargio: Thanks for checking my stuff out, plenty more where that came from. And, from now on I'll mainly post any "Spider of The X-Men'' art on my Deviantart (you know, if I ever make anymore…)
Starfire202010: Glad you're loving this, here's the update you wanted, and sorry it took so long. Been busy with work and got sick with a cold.
Guest: I can see the appeal in your idea, however I'll probably just stick to this story for now.
Resonan: Aight, so I WAS updating and then BOOM. turns out DocX files can't be uploaded, so I had to concert all of this into a story file then reread it because all bolds, segments, and spaces between paragraphs were gone... But glad to see people still want this continued :D
A metal claw moves along its predetermined path, as a young girl with short brunette hair controls its movements. A distracting voice can be heard in the background.
"Ya almost there" Rogue said as Rayne meticulously adjusted the controls. Her tongue sticking out to the side of her mouth while deep within a high level of concentration. She flicked the joystick to the left, then she flicked it that same direction again.
"come ooon…" Rayne muttered as her efforts to line the crane over the black widow plushy were becoming frustrating. One moment the claw was right beside the drop point, then it was too far off, then it was just beside it once again, only to end up WAY too far off. It just kept moving past where it needed to.
"I'm telling you it's rigged" Peter stated before receiving a look of disapproval from Rogue who was coaching Rayne. "What? I'm just telling you all ahead of time…"
Rayne was hyper-focused as she finally clicked the infamous red button. All of the last five minutes of adjusting and re-adjusting were about to pay off; she had finally won. The metallic mechanism was descending ever so slowly into the pit of stuffed animals with a singular purpose. The light sound of machinery filled the group's ears as it lowered itself upon the sewn face of the Avenger known as Black Widow.
The three stood silently as it made contact with the doll. They stared into its black button eyes as the claw began clutching its soft interwoven texture before…
It tragically let go during ascension.
Rayne's head dropped and Rogue cursed under her breath with crossed arms. "Maybe it is rigged?" said the southern belle as she placed both palms on her hips and began wondering where the two slackers were, she could hear them all the way from over here. Rayne was devastated as she looked at the doll one more time, that was until Peter dropped a couple arcade tokens in her palm.
"I'm going to see what those two are up to, win it for me okay?" Rayne threw her hands in the air as she popped in another coin immediately getting to work as Peter walked off. The boy followed the sounds of screams and cheers from Bobby and Evan.
And, once he arrived on the scene he was met with the two of them in a serious game of racing. He walked up to one of the kids at the wheel and asked "What's going on here?" with a friendly tone. Evan glanced over his shoulder and smiled.
"Sup Pete, just schooling ice boy over here, thinks he can beat me in a game!"
"I don't think, I know" Bobby replied as he took a hard right turn. "Loser does both players' chores tomorrow!" Peter chuckled as he stuck both hands in the pockets of his hoodie to watch the show. Evan scoffed as the race went on and the two garnered a small crowd just from their sheer energy alone. The tension grew thick as both contestants were neck in neck, trading first and second place with one another as the trash talk ensued. Egging each other on word after word, insult after insult fueling their banter.
"What's up guys?" said Scott, walking into the arcade with Jean beside him, carrying a bag or two of freshly bought clothes. Looking up from her phone, she turns the device off to look at her friends.
"You two at it again?" She questioned Evan and Bobby as her and Scott had to squeeze through the small crowd in order to even get to the boys.
"Yeah, but don't worry, Bobby here doesn't know he's already lost" Evan replied with a cocky nature. Pulling ahead of the other boy, much to Bobby's dismay as he hyper focused on gaining the lead. The two slowing up and then twisting the wheel as they hit a super sharp turn for a shortcut, simultaneously flooring the gas as their cars sped through the caverns, neck n neck all while speaking the same trash talk coupled with a smirk.
As the gang bares witness to the boys' rivalry, Rogue and Rayne make their way over as the younger of the two holds her Black Widow plushy in hand. Jean looked over her shoulder and as she greeted the others joining them spots the doll "I see someone here won herself a prize".
"Quite the hassle, but nothing I couldn't handle '' Rayne declared with a smile, before looking at her plushie and raising it to eye level as she inspected the doll. Its black button eyes shine with a blinding glimmer from the lights above.
"Come On!!" Bobby shouted as the group turned their heads toward the shouts. A single chuckle leaving Jean as Scott rolled his eyes.
"What are the odds…" stated Peter as large letters flashed on Evan and Bobby's screens, revealing that their big race had ended in a draw of all things.
Evan slumped back in his chair, "I didn't pay two dollars to end up with a draw" he said filled with disbelief sprinkled with some disappointment.
"Well it was this, or a loss on your end buddy" Bobby said with an overwhelmingly smug attitude.
"Not even in your-"
"Well… now that the entertainment has come to an end, how about we get something to eat. Passed the Diner on the way here" Scott suggested as he pointed his thumb towards the exit of the arcade.
The group pondered on this and before long they all came into agreement that a meal would be good right about now. And so off they went towards the Mall's single most popular food spot, walking through the doors as the aroma of chocolate awaited them. Pryde looked over to a sign on her left with beautiful bold letters reading the recently added items.
"Oooo, like, they added new desserts to the menu" Kitty said as she walked closer to the board, pointing at each letter as she read aloud the delicious additions.
"Well then it seems we chose the perfect day to visit the mall" said Jean as a waitress sat the group down by a window, handed everyone a menu, and then took down everyone's drinks as she headed back to the kitchen.
The teens then went into a small ruckus as they socialized amongst themselves. Evan and Bobby were already making plans to hit the race machine again after the meal. Jean was making mental notes on the clothes she bought as Scott just listened. Rogue and Rayne filled in Kitty on the rigged set up of the infamous crane machine. But Peter, he was lost in thought as per usual.
"I wonder how's May doing?... Haven't checked on her in awhile, I've been too busy with the spider half of myself, I'm neglecting my responsibilities as Parker" Peter thought to himself all while time seemed to pass him by. So much so that the menu he doesn't even remember receiving caught no more than a blank stare from him. A stare that was broken when Kitty waved her hand in front of his face.
"Helloooo, Earth to Peter" she stated, he looked to her direction as she pointed to the waiter listening for an answer.
"Your order sir?" Asked the man, as Peter just looked at him for who knows how long before the question finally registered. "OH, uh…" Peter stared down at the laminated booklet, combing through the options until he settled on a simple burger. The waiter wrote down the order and headed for the kitchen.
"You alright Pete" Kitty asked him, baffled at how heavily he was zoning out.
"Uh yeah… Yeah, I'm just thinking about my Aunt. I'm not used to the thought of her just being alone."
"Just ask The Professor if she can visit. He's pretty cool with that." interjected Evan before Rogue added her own two cents "You're just plotting on them cookies, aren't you?" The boy shrugged in return, sparking a laugh from the gang. Peter laughed as well, before nodding in response as he went back to thinking about May.
Only for those thoughts to be interrupted with the intense ringing of his spider-sense.
Peter shot up and searched in the direction his sense warned him about, frantically trying to pick up on any possible source as the gang stared in confusion. "Uh, Everything alright?" Asked Rogue as Peter ignored the question. The source then reveals itself in the form of a bright light changing everything into a shade of yellow as it passed by.
"GET DOWN!" Peter exclaimed as that light came crashing through the windows, sending debris and smoke everywhere with an explosion.
Wood shifted into place as it settled into its new home while dust slipped through its crevices and onto the face of our resident hero. A heat overcame Parker as the smoke and ash escaped his lungs with a couple coughs. "I'd know those yellow bolts anywhere, Electro's free again" he thought to himself "And it looks like he's picking up new hobbies, since when were 3 star restruants on his to do list??". The boy had more questions than answers, rubbing his head, a familiar voice behind him called out, prompting Peter to turn around.
It was Jean, holding the debris above them from collapse with her telekinesis as Scott laid beside her unconscious. A few cuts along his left arm, coupled with purplish skin from bruising, luckily none of the blood seemed to originate from his chest or head, which was as good of a sign as any. "P-Peter, are you alright??" She exclaimed and the boy looked himself over before nodding in response, a sigh of relief leaving her lips. "What was that? It was like, one moment everything went bright yellow, and then it got dark when the building collapsed".
"I don't know…" Peter replied as he searched their small makeshift cave of wood and cement, but the three of them were the only inhabitants…
Peter rushed his next words out with no hesitation as his worry grew "Where are the others? How are they doing??".
Jean groaned as she struggled to keep her composure enough to speak a full sentence.
"They're… okay. Kitty phased Rogue and Rayne" she stopped for a much needed breath.
"And… Kurt teleported the rest."
Peter looked at her, a guilt washing over him while he tried to find a solution that protected their animosity. "There's no doubt about it, that was one of Electro's blasts." The boy clenched his first with anger and disappointment, things weren't adding up. Both Shocker and Electro freed themselves in a week's time, who else was outside of prison walls and ready to cause mayhem??
He grabbed the sides of an iron support beam "Hey Jean, I'm going to take this out, can you support the sudden shift in weight?" She nodded in response. So, Peter yanked the beam and Jean clenched her teeth as she tried to stabilize the shifted mass above them while he figured out a plan. "I can't just punch my way out, judging from the dome like shape a decent amount of debris has settled…" he glanced over to the telekinetic red head, a gloom face as he studied her expressions of strain "And there's no guarantee Jean can support the spike in pressure."
Peter pulled Scott closer to them as he turned to Jean again "Now, I need you to gently make your way over".
The girl did so, scooching along as she held up the debris above their head occasionally stopping her grip on it lessened. "Now, I'm going to jam this upwards and when I do, you focus all of your telekinesis into a single field. Right above it, with a radius about three to four feet." Jean nodded, and with his signal Peter jammed the beam in place as he too provided extra strength to this shield much smaller shield. Protecting only a space above them so the rest of the rubble could fall around them, creating a large cloud of dust and dirt. The perfect concealer for our spider hero to shove all the rest of the debris from a top them.
Jean finally collapsed in exhaustion, a pained cough following this gesture as a small group of civilians came over.
"Are you kids alright?" asked an older man, and Peter nodded.
"Y-yeah, we're fine… luckily" he looked at the beam and then the others, Jean was probably suffering a major headache from the constant pressure. Scott on the other hand, was still unconscious and in need of medical attention for sure.
"Oh that boy doesn't look too good… But don't worry, my son called 911-"
"He can't go to the hospital!…" Jean telepathically exclaimed. Peter turned around, responding in his head that there was a great possibility of severe injury. "When they check for the dilation in his eyes it won't look pretty, Scott's beams are no joke"
"He can't control them??"
"They fire whenever his eyes open"
"Crap…"
"We'll have to take him back to the infirmary…"
"Can you drive in this condition?"
Jean rubbed her head as she cleared her throat and nodded in response "Yeah… Yeah I can. It's just a headache for the most part." The boy looked at her before nodding in response.
Jean then brought herself to her feet and Peter picked up Scott as well. The horrors of disaster hit them viciously as they finally took in their surroundings. Bleeding bystanders resting in the heaps of dirt, others receiving help from family and friends compressing their wounds. It was only a couple people at max…
But it was a couple more than they ever wanted to see.
Peter took a deep breath, and then he was off with Jean following not too far behind.
"Guys, Scott's hurt! We need to take him to the infirmary now!" Jean ordered through a mental message. Which in turn prompted some panic in the group, multiple people "talking" over each other as they tried to piece together the recent events until they all reached the car and could see Scott in person.
"Oh my God!" Exclaimed Kitty.
"Everyone in the car" Jean stated, the crew while loud, obeyed the order and began filling the seats. Once inside, they took Scott out of Peter's hands, the stench of blood continued to raid Peter's nostrils as he watched them set the boy down. Bobby forming a couple ice cubes as Kitty handed over her pink jacket to make a makeshift ice pack.
"Yo Pete, get in man" Evan called out to him, Peter froze when his name was called.
One thing he didn't wanna do was abandon them with Scott in this condition, caused by one of his enemies. But Peter had to get to the bottom of this and stop it in it's tracks.
"Look, I gotta check on my Aunt"
"What?-"
"I'll see y'all back at the mansion! Sorry!" Peter shouted as he ran off back in the direction they came from, leaving everyone else confused at the car before ultimately leaving.
Peter ran down an alleyway at breakneck speeds, practically ripping off his clothes as his frustration began to make his blood boil. People hurt left and right by his villains, HIS villains… but he wasn't gonna let this continue.
New York's Skies
Action figures of Iron Man and Captain America clashed as the hands that controlled them slammed them against one another.
"Hey, my avenger is stronger then yours!" declared boy one.
"So?" Said boy two.
"It means I win!"
"Nuh uh! Cap has a shield, so you can't hurt him-"
The boys jumped as a red and blue figure flew past their open window. Pulling the attention of these young super hero enthusiasts as he swung by.
"I should still have my Electro tech at home!" He thought aloud while landing on a house engulfed within the orange rays of a sunset. He crawled down to the window and while he was grateful for this trick at times, it definitely added to his worry with Aunt May being alone. He stuck to the glass and shook the window a few times before the lock fell out of place, allowing him to crawl inside.
"Can't believe I left my gear" he said as the red fabric of his gloves rubbed against multiple materials as he searched the boxes. Your occasional faded t-shirt accompanied by the rough texture of jeans, then spandex for suit repairs in-between that. "How long was he even locked up??" He groaned as he began to lose hope of ever finding the thing. That was until his hand finally touched something tougher. He grabbed the box-like device and flipped it over.
"Yes!" He nearly shouted, and it would've surely alerted the owner of this home if it wasn't for the noise already coming from downstairs. He heard laughter and joy, it sounded like she had some of her friends over for coffee. Peter was definitely tempted to walk right through that door and see how his aunt was doing. But, for now her laughter would have to suffice as he closed the window behind him and headed in the direction of the newly destroyed restaurant.
Upon arrival however, damage control had already begun repairs and dealing with the aftermath. The guys were fast, Spider-Man had to give them that.
"Alright, where'd you head off to Max…"
Spider-Man turned on the device, and it lit up while scanning the area for Electro's energy signature. And once it had finally caught on, he was off again to find out where his electric "friend" had been hiding.
Broken Down Warehouse in Manhattan
It was late in the afternoon when Spider-Man swung onto the scene and landed upon its forgotten grounds. He began surveying the area first in the hopes to get as knowledgeable as possible on the situation, but there wasn't much to go off of outside. From the looks of the lot, this was a popular hangout spot for thugs, junkies, and/or reckless teens from all the litter that riddled the pavement. Glass and plastic bottles alike, a little bit of everything could be found here.
Spider-Man jumped onto the exterior and began crawling along in search of a way in, but for the most part it looked like there were no signs of forced entry.
"Yep, his signature is definitely coming from inside" the boy noted.
He gets to a nearby window, and with a little spider strength the lock comes clean off.
"I would just enter in the hole he already made, but I guess Max has decided to make a criminal out of me". Spidey shoots a web to the ceiling and pulls himself inside as he begins to crawl around in search of Electro. "Then again I guess the mask already does that…"
The inside carried a visible age to it, everything was covered in dirt and dust as weeds grew out of the cement and even they wilted from the lack of sunlight. This pungent, stale smell was just the cherry on top of this disgusting mess.
Spider-Man shivered before exhaling hard through with a cough. "God! It stinks in here!"
The smell was all he could think about… he crawled through the darkness, the walls peeling as he searched for Max Dillion. "You'd think a psychotic glow stick would be easy to find-"
"Looking for me Web Head" Electro stated with a ringing to the spider-sense. Warning Spidey of the imminent attack as a bolt of lighting struck the walls with sparks flying on contact. Illuminating the room for a split second as rim light bounced off the shrouded clothing and litter. Our hero looked towards the source and right in the flesh stood Max Dillion, aka electro with an ear to ear grin. His eyes a glow as the yellow and green non-conductive jumper he wore shined with the cackling of his electricity. But, to Spider-Man's surprise there also stood a familiar face, the Shocker.
"Wait, Herman? How-"
"Am I standing here?... Let's just say it helps to have friends in high places" he devilishly says before blasting the space Spider-Man occupied. The teenage webslinger maneuvered around the cone of pure weaponized vibrations, before another bolt forced him to contort his body in an effort to dodge.
"I just fought Herman last week, and the cops took him away I'm sure of it!" Spidey contemplated the options in his head while avoiding their blast. "He's C-list at best and just as broke as I am, there's no way he escaped all on his own in a matter of days."
BLAM, Spidey hits a nearby wall as Shocker's blast caught him in thought.
"That's what you get you little sh*t!" he exclaimed while charging the next attack, the spider sense ringing its alarm to which Spider-Man reacted accordingly. Flipping onto the railing of the second floor and retaliating with a barrage of web pellets that were vaporized by Herman's friend.
But just as the flaming residue of his webs hit the ground Peter had noticed something, there was a mound, a mountain of something in the middle of the floor covered by cloth. It wasn't for the next few seconds that Peter had realized that this mountain wasn't just cloth, but the bodies. Peter froze in his tracks before another blast from Electro struck him straight in the chest.
"What is this?!?!" shouted our hero as anger began to boil from within.
"Just something to get ya riled up!" and right on cue Shocker blasted a hole in the roof with his vibration gauntlets. Spreading the collateral damage to the walls and overall structure of the warehouse. Spider-Man attempted to rush the two before they could finish whatever they had planned but Electro shot him to the ground with a surge of lightning.
Spider-Man hit the concrete with a pain filled grunt, it wasn't fun taking a point blank blast from Electro. But our hero wouldn't have time to gather his bearings as his spider-sense warned him of a new danger. He rolled out of the way of debris as he left the vicinity of falling structure beams and metal scraps. All while dodging attacks from shocker, Electro placed a hand on his partner's shoulder.
"No wasting time, boss man wants us out of here fast." Shocker groaned, he didn't want to leave, not just when he was REALLY having fun. But, he reluctantly followed said orders as a yellow field of electricity surged around them. It was a protective barrier preventing the incoming webs from wrapping them up.
Spidey immediately lunged forward but was cut off short when a bolt of electricity shot him back down. And, as if right on cue more concrete fell on top of our wall crawler and the scene was obscured by smoke and debris.
The parking lot finally settled into a peaceful quietness. The quiet of this cool night yet again interrupted, this time by the sound of Spider-Man grunting as he burst from the rubble like the undead. He checked himself for any injuries or revealing tearing in the suit, but was relieved to find the spandex mostly survived the encounter.
He leapt from the bed of rubble and landed within the dirty parking lot of what was the warehouse. Whipping his body left and right, he searched for the culprits only to come to an aggravating realization. There was no sign of the escaped villains, just shattered concrete and metal scattered everywhere.
"Damn It!" Shouted the hero as he cracked the earth beneath him with a clenched fist. His previous confusion had evolved into anger, villains escaping custody was nothing new to the superhero world. But, that didn't soothe the frustration Peter felt at the occurrence. The swiftness in this time only added more fuel to the fire.
In defeat, our hero shot a web line to the nearest point of leverage and swung away into the dimming sky.
X-Mansion Livingroom
The atmosphere was tense as everyone awaited to hear the news on Scott regaining consciousness. Some sat twiddling their thumbs, and others tried to fight off their thoughts with the TV. However every channel only wanted to talk about one thing: the recent explosion at Romita's Diner.
"Today, a tragic attack at Romita's Diner in central Bayville had occurred. Just under 4 hours ago, citizens described something similar to a 'yellow flash' struck the right side of the mall where residents within the establishment were blinded before being struck with charred debris and rumble..."
Kitty raised her hand and turned down the volume of the TV, like the rest of her friends she wanted to drown the coverage out yet couldn't find the strength to sit in complete silence eith their thoughts. She hugged her knees while leaning onto Rayne who sat beside her. However soon enough blocking out the TV wouldn't be much of a problem.
"This is bogus!" Evan exclaimed as he stood up from his kitchen chair. " 'leave him be', you and Proffessor expect us to just be cool with that, with him?" Evan questioned his aunt as she tended to the student's supper.
"I understand why you're upset, I just ask you leave open the possibility that maybe he has a reason."
"Better have a good reason" Rogue said under her breath.
"I mean he left to check on his Aunt right?" Kurt added, only for Rogue to roll her eyes in return.
"Ya don't seriously buy that, do ya?" she asked with a tone full of sarcasm.
"Auntie O, we invited him into our lives and at the first sign of trouble he's gone??" Ororo stopped cutting up the vegetables and placed her hands on the counter as she rested her body weight upon them.
"Your feelings are valid Evan, the confusion and aggravation. However, yours aren't the only ones at play here. Hold onto your opinion as you will, but perhaps our newest friend has validity in his own"
Evan scoffed at this response and just headed off into the hallway towards the stairs, passing Laura who stood in the hallway observing everything.
The girl watched him stomp off towards his room. She looked around at her fellow students, observing the bruises and bandages they were sporting before walking off in a different direction on the main floor.
The room getting back to an unnerving silence as murmurs from the muffled news report provided background noise.
X-Mansion (Basement)
Hank McCoy, the resident scientist of the facility was sorting out the tools and stick of his lab. Peter being the bare minimum of company as he sat at the desk in silence.
"Mr. Parker" he said with a pleasant tone. The boy looked over his shoulder and coldly greeted the man before returning back to the device in hand. Hank sat his cup down on the metallic counter, before pulling up a chair of his own and sitting down next to Peter.
"What exactly is keeping you. Surely talking to your friends must be more important?" He asked the boy.
"It's Spider-Man stuff" Peter stated through the awkwardness, there was no point in beating around a nonexistent bush. Hank looked over Parker's shoulder, and began to analyze the parts he could see in the boy's hands. Without a word, he got up from his chair, and walked over to a nearby cabinet where spare parts could be found. Grabbing what he believed to be necessary, he walked back to his seat and handed the parts to Peter.
"You built this?" He asked.
"Yeah" Peter responded.
"It's quite the remarkable piece of tech, and developed on a high schooler's budget no less, may I?" Beast politely put forward an open palm, and Peter handed over the device.
Beast took the opposite hand, and brought the pieces of broken tech to eye level. While crudely put together, that didn't devalue any of the genius the machine shined. The mix matching pieces of new and old metals cased a truly well crafted device. From the remains the furry man could tell Its wires were very few and optimally put together.
"Mr. Parker, this truly is some impressive craftsmanship. If not for the rusted and, 'crude condition' , of the materials used. I would've sworn this was from one of New York's finest institutes." The compliment was unappreciated by the youth. The boy was too focused on finding the correct items to fix said machine.
"Any reason as to why this suddenly needs to be fixed" the man questioned while handing over a few tools. "This wouldn't happen to have anything to do with Scott, would it?"
Peter dropped his tools and sighed, the exhale fought back the building up stress and frustration. having lived in a house with his aunt May and no shoulders to lean on, Peter has become accustomed to holding onto the baggage of his herioc life. But, unlike those times he now lives with a mansion full of people like him. He took a deep breath, and finally let his thoughts latch onto the ears of another.
"There's a guy, Max Dillion, but you guys would probably know him better as Electro. And, I dont know how or why but HE was the one who attacked the diner, attacked us?!" Peter collected himself before swallowing the build up in emotion. "Scott, he's alright?"
"Well, he took a pretty heavy hit to the head" Peter filled his hands with fabric as he clenched his thighs in anticipation. "However, it isn't anything we couldn't tend to. A nasty concussion was pretty much the end of it, he'll be recovering for about two weeks. Everyone else's injuries however were tended to with a bandage here and there."
Peter let out a tense sigh, a weight on his shoulders was lifted at the sound of this bitter sweet news.
"This, Max Dillion, you blame yourself because he's a regular of our friend Spider-Man right?" Peter nodded. "Yet, I still fail to see how any of this is strictly your fault?" The blue haired man rose up and placed a hand on Parker's shoulder.
"Because of you and Jean's efforts, he walked away with a far less severe consequence to being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe dwell on that for sometime while you're working" And with that the furry man left Peter to concentrate on his device, and consider the positives of the situtation while he finishes.
Once repares were complete, Peter brought his elbows onto the table as he rested his head within his hands. Focusing on the good was far easier said than done. But tracking Electro, that was far easier.
X-Mansion Livingroom
Peter walked with conviction as through the livingroom, catching the attention of his friends who called out his name. Their shouts falling on deaf ears.
"Hey Peter! How are you feeling?" Kurt asked him, a question that recieved no reply. So with one look to the others he flipped off the ceiling and teleported in front of the boy.
"We're just wrried about you, what's going on?"
"Yeah yeah, I'll tell y'all everything later" Peter stated as he walked past his blue friend and headed out the door. Leaving the rest who witnessed this confused to the sudden shift in the sudden cold shoulder he was giving everyone.
And, while the others listened to Xavier's request, one raven haired girl decided to find out what Parker was hiding. Maybe get to the bottom of what he's been up to ever since he's arrived in their doors.
