Chapter 2

Jin sat on the stairs outside of the campus using his smartphone, while a couple of students walked out to the break as well. One of the students sat down next to Jin, who was revealed to be Luka.

"Hey, Jin. How were the lessons?" Questioned the Frenchman taking out his smartphone as well.

"We're going through the topic of the human body and its functions. In A more detailed way," Responded Jin making Luka nod. "What about you?"

"We're analyzing the built of the modern mixing desk, that is found in the recording studios. Our teacher showed a short movie about how they had evolved since their first presence back in 1958," Answered Luka. "It's actually an interesting topic, just a little tense to follow through the entire documentary,"

"I believe that," Confessed Jin making Luka smile. "Did Marinette tell you anything more, besides what happened last night?"

"Not yet. The only thing she mentioned was, that Alya got to figure out that two other idols she loves also attended Françoise Dupont years ago. Not only the journalist," Commented Luka.

"That's cool," Mentioned Jin returning his eyes to his smartphone to continue scrolling through the dash of his Facestargram account. Jin received a notification, then clicked on it to see a picture he shared had its one-year anniversary he opened it to see it was him sitting by the canal of the Seine along with Yi sharing an ice cream. "Hey, my account just showed me a picture of me and Yi, which I took last year. When we sat all together by the Seine,"

"Oh good," Said Luka watching Jin show him the picture. "That was the day you asked her out, right?"

"Yes," Responded Jin smiling, then he widened his eyes realizing both had been dating for a year already. "Oh, shot. It's our anniversary,"

"There is no dating anniversary, Jin," Commented Luka. "Or at least, officially,"

"I thought about, when we would reach one year of dating, I could invite her for dinner, but I have forgotten it,"

"You still can do something for her," Suggested Luka. "I don't know exactly what. For Marinette at some point of the year, I gifted her a song lyric I wrote about her. By the way, I know this is out of context, but I'm planning to do for Kitty Section another music video and I'm looking for actors again,"

"I wouldn't mind playing in it if you need someone good-looking in it," Jin said making Luka shake his head amused. "I don't have at the moment time for it, so I'm passing on this,"

"I thought you would say this. Anyway, if you're looking to do something special for you and Yi, I suggest you take her to a restaurant she likes or one, that serves food, that she could like. You just need to make sure you reserve a table for you two. Finding in Paris a free space without reservation is like searching for a vinyl record in an electronic shop," Commented Luka making Jin nod. "You're planning it for today, right?"

"Yes…...well, this is even more difficult. People surely have reserved their tables earlier,"
"You sure will find something. Otherwise, you could order takeaway food and invite her home or go out for a picnic together. It's the start of September, so there's currently no chance of a storm or anything for now," Luka mentioned watching Jin open the weather forecast app of his smartphone to check the weather.

"Perfect! I just need to figure out, where exactly we should take it," Mentioned Jin making Luka nod.

"If many places are taken by other picnickers, you could look for a different place. It doesn't have to be a garden or a corner of the forest. Marinette and I once shared dinner on her balcony. We both laughed and listened for the rest of the evening to Jagged Stone. It didn't really matter to us, that we couldn't go to the restaurant we planned on going to. What only mattered, was the time we spent together," Luka commented while Jin pondered about what he should plan for himself and his girlfriend. Jin afterward widened his eyes upon hearing about Luka's one date, puzzling a plan for his dating night.

Yi returned to the classroom, then got down on her seat and unpacked her writing utensils to prepare herself for the next lessons. The girl placed the bag under her table, then looked into the shelf under her table, where she had a file with her name on it, afterward she took it out to open it, taking out a red sheet saying Motivational poster on it. Yi looked at the poster, which contained a picture of herself sitting on the couch together with her late father, her mother, and her maternal grandmother. On the corners of the left side, Yi had a picture of herself together with Kagami in two different locations and the right side Jin was on there with Yi herself, one by the zoo and the other by the Eiffel Tower. Yi smiled amused at the image, then lied it over her table to look at it. By the side, Marc Anciel appeared getting down to his seat as well, while holding a smartphone in his hand, then tapped Yi on the shoulder.

"Look at this reel Nathaniel showed me," Marc said opening the reel to the girl, showing an oddly CGI animated goat with the caption Mom: Did you study?

"Did I? Did I….Did I….Did I…..Did I, Did I Did I Did I, Did I, Did I do,"

Yi did a little chuckle, despite not understanding the meme to 100%.

"I bet you studied, right?" Questioned Marc watching Yi shrug her shoulders.

"I'm more concerned about if the time I spent learning for it was worth it. I feel like the more I study for science the deeper my grade gets," Yi commented making Marc nod. "My mom doesn't say anything about me getting grades in science, 'cause she knows I tried my hardest,"

"That's cool. Mines think I spend too much time in front of the computer on social media, but I'm most of the time writing fanfiction…..Sometimes I get distracted by other internet pages, or when I research something I end up wasting too much time. Funnily I've spent more time doing that, than playing Humans 4," Marc pointed out making Yi nod. "What are your hobbies besides playing the violin?" Questioned Marc watching Yi look up to think about his answer, but the only thing she remembered was her doing her tasks as Hydra in the superhero team.

"Uh…...well, without counting the moments I hang out with Kagami or Jin I would watch TV or do collages. I haven't had time to pick a new hobby since I left Shanghai. Back in China, when Jin was still around together with his younger cousin we would play together basketball,"

"Oh that's why you're so good at it despite your height," Commented Marc making Yi chuckle.

"You know, if you had someone a head taller than you during the match, you would learn to find a way to go around it," Mentioned Yi making Marc nod, afterward they observed the rest of the classmates get down, then watched a raven-haired girl sigh while glimpsing at her smartphone. "Is everything okay, Katrina?" Questioned Marc watching the girl shrug her shoulders.

"More or less. Since my mom asked my father for the divorce things have gone wild in our household. Both just can't agree on, what they want to do during this issue," Responded the girl. "I leave them fighting because I have no idea, what else to do. I don't even know how an akuma hasn't caught anyone yet,"

"Perhaps none of you is angry or sad enough?" Mentioned Marc unsure. "You can get akumatized, when angry, right?"

"Well, it is considered a negative feeling, so….." Yi added looking at the sad girl. "If I'm allowed to know, why are your parents getting divorced?"

"My dad slept with my aunt and now she's pregnant," Responded the student making Marc widen his eyes.

"Ouch…..now that's a dumb situation they have gotten themselves into,"

Considering…..he told my mom, what happened and only, because this happened. Apparently, this case has been going on for almost a year,"

"Man, your dad was a really big jerk," Commented Marc, afterward they heard the door getting closed and Fred Hapréle got into the class surprising the students.

"Good morning students, Mrs. Mendeleiev had to leave due to a family issue and won't be around for the rest of the day. She told me, I should give you the test, she announced last time and afterward, you could read the next chapter and resume, what you've understood," Announced the brunette man. "Have you got anything at the moment to ask?" Myléne's father asked watching a student move up his arm. "Yes?"

"Can we look at our motivational posters, before we take the test?" Questioned the boy making the man nod.

"Of course. If it helps you, you can leave it on top of your desk, if it gives you more inspiration," Answered the man making the kids nod, afterward Fred spread around the class the tests, while some students took out their posters, including Yi, which let hers over the table to look at the image of her father together with herself.

Marinette's class was attending gym lessons under the watch of Mr. D'Argencourt, which had been scheduled after warming up the kids to play handball against each other. Marinette along with her friends Alya and Nino were set together along with Juleka, Sabrina, and Myléne to be a team, while the others were their enemy team, standing on the other side of the field with red team bands.

"I'll stay on the net," Offered Nino waving at his girlfriend getting to the end of the hall, while the rest of their group got to their spot on their side and Marinette was the third person in the middle standing behind Kim, which took the forward part together with Alya Césaire. Kim faced the pink-haired girl, Alix, which smirked at him and Rose was the co-striker, which happily stood by the classmate.

"Oh Rose, you're taking the lead this time?" Asked Kim curious. "Looks like we've finally got our mini-Agreste," Joked the Vietnamese boy making Rose giggle.

"Rose's currently the only girl in the team, that can keep up with a ball," Mentioned Alix, hearing Nathaniel complain.

"Hey!"

"Keeping up in like a pro," Corrected Alix looking back at her friend, which frowned and threw his band against her friend, which chuckled about his reaction. "If you throw the ball the way you threw it at me, we're never gonna score,"

"Without practice, I can't throw well," Mentioned Nathaniel, then heard Max tapping on his smartphone.

"You know, one thing about Nathaniel has changed... Nathaniel had over the year improved his endurance and speed. He doesn't get as tired as he used to," Mentioned Max earning the attention of Alix, Nathaniel and Lila, who stood on his right side. "It's unusual for someone with low interest in going out to be like this. Have you been practicing?" Questioned the dark-skinned boy directing his question at Nathaniel, which rolled his eyes up to recall various scenarios of himself running as Super Snake after his superhero friends for their job.

"Uh…...yes," Responded Nathaniel unsure about his response, then observed Armand approach Max to take his phone away, which without any struggle gave it up. "I had practiced in case…...I would attend the annual marathon here in Paris….I lost a bet…...and I have to do that," Nathaniel made up making Max tilt his head confused while the redhead's deskmate frowned slightly suspicious of the friend.

The teacher whistled with his whistle, catching the attention of the students and threw the ball into the middle watching Kim and Alix jump together in the air to catch the ball. Kim made it to take it, then ran aside watching Alya and Myléne cross together the field, then he passed the ball to Alya, which took it and ran aside watching Max and Lila run after her towards the goalkeeper, which was Ivan. Alya threw the ball, which Ivan managed to catch easily making Alya frown and move back to her field. Ivan threw the ball at Chloé, which caught it, and looked at the enemy team approaching her, while she was there confused.

"I'm still confused about this game. Aren't we supposed to play it with our feet?" Asked Chloé watching Kim jump in front of her stretching his arms up, shrieking Chloé, which threw the ball up in the air watching it fly toward Max's direction, which managed to catch it, then ran along with Rose towards the enemy field, while Alix and Nathaniel were close to the goal.

Max passed at Rose, which got blocked by Marinette, who tried to prevent Rose from going through, thereafter Rose threw the ball at the ground watching it bounce toward Nathaniel, who picked it up and made his way toward the goalkeeper, which got ready to defend the ball. Nathaniel threw the ball against the goal, watching it smack on the post and land in front of Nino's feet. Nathaniel rolled his eyes, unsurprised about his failure, then observed Nino give the ball to Marinette, which ran along with Alya across the field.

"Hey girl, have you planned anything over lunch?" Questioned Alya earning a nod from Marinette, which threw the ball above Alya watching along with her see Sabrina catch the ball, then pass by her friend, which smirked as her friend came along and tried to block the friend from passing. Marinette and Alya stopped, then Alya eyed her best friend to continue their conversation. "Is it something with Luka?"

"Yes, I asked him to come over for lunch. After school we can do something together if you'd like," Suggested Marinette making Alya smile.

"I'd like to. It's been a while since we've done something together," Commented Alya, followed by hearing their enemy team celebrate their first goal, which was made by Kim, which ran at Sabrina to high-five her.

"Great, shall we do our homework together or are you thinking about meeting afterward?" Questioned Marinette, then heard someone yell her name and both girls shrieked as the ball flew above their heads towards Juleka, which opened her hands to catch it and went along with Kim. "Alright, I think we can discuss that later," The blue-haired girl suggested watching Alya pat her friend on the shoulder, then they moved further to assist their team, when they would get their chance and watched Ivan catch the ball, which was thrown by Myléne.

Over the bridge of Daydé drove a black SUV among other vehicles on the road reaching a one-single road that lead in four different directions. All cars left on the first road, while the SUV kept going straight, slowing down a little and moving towards the second road on the right and stopped facing with the car an abandoned building, which was fenced all around plastered with advertising for the future of the building. The car's engine was still on, afterward it went silent and the door of the driver's side opened up, so the driver got out dressed in a dark blue-greyish suit to reveal her face. The brunette got to look around the area, bewildered, then took out her smartphone to check the GPS's address and zoomed out of the map to see, she was just like on the map on the Seguin island.

"I would suggest you to avoid using the car of the embassy to get here, Mrs. Rossi," Said a voice getting the attention of the woman, which looked at the fence to see behind it a familiar face.

"Mr. Agreste? I wasn't expecting to land on a construction zone or…..well, an abandoned building," Commented Mrs. Rossi making the blonde nod.

"Don't worry. This project has been postponed for a year. No one else will put their feet on this lot until the needed goals are fulfilled. Until then, we've got enough time to work on our goal….."

"And you'll leave my daughter out of this, as promised?" Questioned Mrs. Rossi serious making Gabriel nod.

"You know I haven't put my finger on her since our first meeting. Help me achieve my goals and you two will be free from anything I do. We'll move on as if we have never interacted. Is that good enough?" Questioned the man raising an eyebrow watching the brunette ponder about it unsure, then nodded.

"Good, I will help you," Answered the Italian woman making Gabriel smirk.

"Good, follow me, I will show you, where to go when I call you," Asked Gabriel walking along the fence, followed by the woman who came to meet the man afterward by the entrance to the construction zone.
