So Alina went back to the sewers.

More specifically the place where they'd found the Shapeshifter's clothes earlier. Being injured and tired, it took her way longer than the first time to finally get there, but when she did, she heard footsteps coming her way before she was able to go further. She stopped and hid herself behind a wall, waiting for the perfect moment to jump in front of the newcomer and punch him in the face. "What the…Alina?!"

She instantly recognized the voice of the person she had just hit. "Sam?!"

It was him standing in front of her, holding his nose. She was so relieved to see him that she didn't even apologize and wrapped her arms around him. "Sammy I'm so happy to see you."

"Sam?!"

She pulled away from her friend the moment she heard the other familiar voice coming from behind him. She grabbed her dagger and was ready to fight this time, but Sam got between them before Dean could even reach her. "Wait Alina, it's Dean. It's really him."

"How do you know that?"

Dean was still standing behind his brother, but the moment he noticed Alina's state, he pushed Sam away and walked towards the girl, worryingly. "What happened to you?"

Sam also stared at her in horror now that she was properly standing in front of them. She looked exhausted but more importantly, her shirt was ripped open revealing her bra underneath it, and the ugly wound on her stomach that was still bleeding. "Alina are you okay?"

"No I'm not!" She snapped, still aiming her dagger at Dean. She wanted him to be the real one, but she still had to doubt it. "I've had better days! Now touch that freaking blade!"

"Why?" Sam asked confused.

"It's silver." Dean replied for Alina. "If I was a Shapeshifter…" He took his time approaching the girl to avoid scaring her. "I wouldn't be able to touch it."

Alina stayed alert as she let him get closer, and felt her whole body relaxing when Dean took the blade in his hand. She let go of her weapon, allowing him to take it completely from her hand, took two steps closer and let her head fall against his chest. She let out a deep sigh. "I'm sorry. He left with the car, I couldn't stop him."

Dean was completely stunned by what it was seeing and hearing. He didn't know what had happened to her, but obviously she'd gone through a lot. And yet, she was more worried about the car. "It's okay Frenchy we'll get it back." He grabbed her shoulders and slightly pushed her away from him to examine her. But the tears he saw falling down her cheeks, made him want to violently kill whoever was responsible for that. "Alina what happened…what…" The sight of her ripped shirt made him feel uneasy. "Did that son of a bitch touch you? What did he do? I'm gonna make him suffer for that!"

"No…" Alina shook her head, trying to smile with her tears still falling. "I'm fine. I just…I didn't see it. I should've known it wasn't you…"

"Alina." Sam finally intervened as he took off his jacket and put it on her shoulders. "You're bleeding. You need stitches."

All of sudden, the fire in Alina's eyes reappeared. She'd just realized that the Shapeshifter had let her live, but it didn't mean that no one would die tonight if they didn't do something. "No we need to find him." She gave the jacket back to Sam and took off her shirt. It was already ruined, so she attached it around her stomach, tightly enough to stop the bleeding, then took the jacket back from Sam's hand. She didn't want to walk around wearing only a bra and a bloody shirt. "Let's go."

She turned around, ready to leave and was soon followed by Sam. Dean however, couldn't move as he watched her walking away from him. He wanted to believe that the thing wearing his face wasn't the one who'd hurt Alina like that. Because he didn't know if he'd be able to forgive himself, even thought the Shapeshifter was the one responsible for her suffering.

When he finally joined his brother and his friend, they were trying to find an exit, and the Shapeshifter's localization. "If he follows his M.O he's gonna choose a woman that knows Dean, and would open her door for him so he wouldn't leave any sign of a break-in behind. In this town, except for me the only woman that knows him is…"

"Rebecca." Sam finished anxiously. "He went to Rebecca's." They were finally able to find an exit, leading them to a dark alley. "Come on. We gotta find a phone, call the police."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa." Dean stopped Sam. "You're gonna put an APB out on me."

Alina did feel bad about it, because she knew how annoying it was to be chased after by the police, but they had to stop the Shapeshifter. And Sam was thinking the same thing as he simply shrugged at his brother's complain. "Sorry."

Dean groaned. "This way." They started running down the street.

After calling the police, they could only hide and wait for some good news. If they went to Rebecca's now, Dean could get arrested instead of the Shapeshifter. So until then, the boys convinced Alina to get some stitches. Sam was able to get everything they needed from a pharmacy down the street, and while Dean was taking care of their friend, he decided to stay in front of a store window with a display of televisions, waiting to hear something about his friend.

Dean and Alina were in a dark alley to avoid being seen. The girl had taken off Sam's jacket and was holding a flashlight above her stomach, so Dean could see the wound he was stitching up. Alina winced the first time she felt the needle going into her skin, forcing Dean to pause and stare at her. "You okay?"

"Yeah... Let's get this over with."

He nodded and continued his task. He knew what he was doing, his father had shown him many times how to do it. The problem was that he couldn't look at the blood without thinking about himself hurting Alina. And the girl felt his hesitation. "It wasn't you Dean." She said out of nowhere, surprising her friend.

"I know. But I don't know what he did and said to you with my face and my voice. I mean, you don't look like someone who had a nice little chat with him."

Alina was still ashamed by the previous events. By her actions and decisions. She could've avoided so many mistakes, and yet, here she was in a dirty dark alley, covered in blood with Dean completely stressed out. And he had a right to know everything about her encounter with the Shapeshifter. After all, she thought she was with him all along. In addition to that, she was too tired to think too much about every words coming out of her mouth. "He kissed me."

Dean tried not to stop what he was doing when he heard these three words. It wasn't jealousy like Sam enjoyed calling it, he was simply picturing his lips and hands touching Alina without her consent and it just made him sick. But then…

"I let him do it."

This time, Dean froze. He couldn't believe it. Alina thought it was him, and yet she'd still kissed him back? The first time they'd kissed, he was himself but she wasn't completely. Now she was herself but it wasn't him with her. So how could she let him do something like that while being in full control of her body and thoughts.

"You're overreacting again Winchester." She said calmly. "I don't know why I kissed him back…Maybe because he could understand me. And it just feels great to be understood when you think you're going crazy. But in the end I guess I really am crazy."

"Hey no you're not."

"Really? 'Cause for the first time in months I really wanted to share my secrets with someone. I was relieved, I wasn't scared of losing another person I love because of…who I am." And the worst part for her, was that she once again felt like she had to keep these things to herself. The Shapeshifter had been honest with her about his feelings, about how lonely he was. But Dean was…he wasn't the emotional kind of person.

And it killed him inside. He realized that the other him, the fake him, had actually helped Alina in a short time, more than he ever had in his entire life. She was always trying to be there for him, to reassure him. Hell, she'd even told him that she loved the real him without him having to talk about his fear. Sam was right. He wanted to be the one listening to her problems. He wanted to be the one making her feel better. Him, not the Shapeshifter. He really was jealous after all.

Even now that she'd told him all these things, he didn't know what to say in return. So instead, he finished stitching her up before giving her his hand to help her stand back up. However, even now that they were both standing in front of each other, ready to leave, Dean didn't let go of her hand and clumsily stared at her. It hurt him even more that Alina wasn't able to look back at him as he was struggling to find the right words to comfort the girl. He wanted to say a million things. How sorry he was for being so bad at sharing his feelings or listening to hers. How much he needed her in his life. How pretty she was whenever she was laughing, crying, or just looking at him with her warm smile. So why couldn't he? "Hey Frenchy…"

"Guys?" Sam reappeared with a serious look on his face. "You need to see this."

Alina and Dean followed him to the store window, where a news report was being shown on the televisions. "An anonymous tip led police to a home in the Central West End, where a S.W.A.T team discovered a local woman bound and gagged. Her attacker, a white male, approximately twenty-four to thirty years of age, was discovered hiding in her home." A sketch of Dean appeared on the screen.

"Man! That's not even a good picture." Dean complained, happy to see Alina smiling at him again.

"It's good enough." Sam declared, looking around cautiously. He then walked away and was soon followed by his brother and his friend, back to the alley.

They were in such a hurry that Dean didn't noticed the huge puddle in front of him, walking right into it and groaning.

But Sam was too focused on Rebecca to worry about his brother. "They said attempted murder. At least we know…"

"I didn't kill her."

"We'll check with Rebecca in the morning, see if she's all right."

"All right, but first I wanna find that handsome devil and kick the holy crap out of him."

The brothers stopped walking, forcing Alina to wait for them.

"We have no weapons. No silver bullets." Sam reminded his brother.

"Sam, the guy's walking around with my face, and if he really has my memories too, he must be freaking suicidal for laying his hands on Alina, okay? I wanna find him."

Alina felt a huge knot forming in her throat. She didn't want Dean to feel guilty about it.

"Okay. Where do we look?"

"Well, we could start with the sewers."

"We have no weapons. He stole our guns, we need more."

"Than we should find the car before going after him." Alina concluded. "He was driving it the last time I saw him, so he must've drove over to Rebecca's."

"The news said he fled on foot. I bet it's still parked there." Sam said.

"The thought of him driving my car." Dean sighed, upset.

"Yeah well stop thinking about it. 'Cause you won't get to kill that asshole if I find him first."

LATER

They found the car. Unfortunately, the police was also here, so Dean and Alina had to leave Sam behind as a diversion to run away. They stopped running once they reached the park near Rebecca's house and decided to wait there for the police to leave. They hid inside the playground tunnel, allowing Alina to lie down a little. Her wound was hurting again but luckily the stitches hadn't moved.

"You okay?" Dean asked when he saw her slightly grimacing at the pain.

"Yeah… I just can't wait for this night to end." She smiled at him, but stopped once she noticed how angry he still looked. "Dean, are you mad at me?"

"What? No, you did nothing wrong."

"Neither did you."

He simply nodded, refusing to bother Alina with his doubts. But he didn't have to say anything, she could read it on his face. She sighed and looked away from him. "Yeah you're mad at me."

"I said I wasn't!"

"Yeah? So why are you looking at me like I…betrayed you or something?"

"That's not what I'm thinking, okay?"

"Than what is it? Fuck, Dean at least the Shapeshifter wasn't afraid to talk to me!"

"Yeah that's the problem! I don't know what he told you, okay?! That son of a bitch has access to my memories but he still could've told you anything and you could've believed him!"

Alina was being impulsive, and she realized that, when his words brought her back to the moment she thought she was talking to him in the car. After finding out it was the Shapeshifter, she'd assumed that the things he'd said had nothing to do with Dean. But it was only once she'd found the boys, that they'd reminded her how the Shapeshifter was actually connected to Dean. He had his memories and the emotions related to them.

Alina managed to calm herself down, and resumed. "Okay. I get it. You wanna know what we talked about? He told me he felt like a freak compared to Sam and I. That he was jealous because we could have friends, while he was convinced people would runaway from him the moment they'd see the real him. Just like Sam did when he went to college. And John…he said he'd done everything John asked him to do, and yet it wasn't enough because he'd left too without a warning. He said that once I'd find my mom, I'd go back in France and forget about him too."

Dean couldn't face her. He spent the whole time staring at everything but the girl who was being so honest with him. He was ashamed that she'd heard all this things coming out of his mouth, because he wanted to look strong in front of her. He wanted her to feel safe with him, but how could she now that she knew all these things about him? It actually would've been better if the Shapeshifter had lied to her, it would've been easier.

Now he had to listen to her, listing the fears he didn't even want to admit to himself.

Alina knew he would feel this way, that's why she'd chose to say 'he' and not 'you'. Because even if it was coming from him, the Shapeshifter was the actual messenger.

"I guess he didn't believe me when I said that I love the real you." She was still trying to get a reaction from him, but it didn't seem to be enough. And since she refused to let the Shapeshifter know her better than Dean, she chose to see her discussion with her fake friend as a training for the one she was about to have with the real Dean Winchester.

"So I told him that I was scared too, because I feel the exact same way about the people I care about. My dad died, so did Chris, Charlie left me, and now even my mom is hiding from me. I told him that I was a freak too, and that you should probably be the one running away from me."

The moment she finally talked to him, and not about him, Dean's green eyes met hers in a perfect mix of confusion and apprehension. "What are you talking about?" He questioned her.

"I…" Alina wanted to say it. She wanted to free herself from these secrets, but she was still scared. "Dean…I trust you. That's probably why I talked so easily with the Shapeshifter when I thought he was you. But what I'm about to tell you…no one else knows. Neither my mom, Charlie, Sam…so you have to promise me that it'll stay between us."

"Alina…"

"Please Dean. I don't care if you decide that you never wanna see me again after I tell you the truth, just promise me you'll never tell anyone. I need to hear you say it."

Dean was worried to see his friend in such a stressful state. After she'd told him her story with Chris and Charlie, he was convinced that she had nothing more to hide. But obviously, what she'd kept to herself was a much heavier secret to carry. How was this possible? What could be worse than what he already knew? "Okay I promise."

Alina turned completely towards him, her legs crossed and her head slightly bent so she wouldn't bump into the ceiling of the narrow children's tunnel. She'd never imagined talking about this in such a ridiculous place, and yet...

"I didn't tell you the whole story about Chris and the demon that possessed him. It…it wasn't just a vengeful act to make us pay for our previous exorcisms. That demon…" She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and finally let it out. "He had his eyes on me, way before I learned about my dad being a demon expert. I even suspect him to be responsible for me finding out about it. He said I was…special. That I was capable of doing a lot of terrible things but it was taking too much time for me to lose my mind. So he possessed my friend to try and break me. He couldn't do it but…in the end Chris died because of whatever that demon wanted me to become. And the worst part is, I'm not sure he completely failed in his task."

"Alina stop."

The young woman almost jumped when Dean suddenly grabbed her arm to bring her back to herself. "You said it yourself, you can't believe demons. They all lie!"

"That's what I thought too! But ever since that case at Lake Manitoc, weird things started happening to me."

"Like what? The nightmares?"

"No…I've been thinking a lot about this case. Every time I was attacked by the spirit, I was actually thinking about Andrea and Lucas. So much so that I could feel their emotions like they were mine and…I think the spirit felt this connection. He attacked me because he couldn't make the difference between me and them."

"Okay but maybe it was just Lucas. That kid had a strong connection with the spirit, maybe he briefly passed it onto you, that doesn't mean anything Alina."

"And what about that dog yesterday? I don't even know why or how I managed to calm him down without losing a hand, even its owner couldn't control him anymore. And there's Bloody Mary appearing to me twice. I never called her so why was she in the bathroom of our motel room, and why didn't she kill me?! I am responsible for someone's death, but somehow I wasn't even affected by her once she got out of her mirror while you and Sam were dying in front of me! What the hell's wrong with me Dean?! What the hell am I?!"

She was about to have a panic attack when Dean wrapped his arms around her, to hold her against him and calm her down. He didn't know either what all these things meant. He wasn't even aware that Alina had received a second visit from a spirit in their motel room. He would've liked to be there for her at that time. If she'd told him all of this from the beginning, he could've reassured her by telling her the simple truth. "Nothing's wrong with you Frenchy. So I'm not leaving your side until we figure out what's going on. Okay?"

Since she didn't reply, he pulled away from her and took her face in his hands to force her to look him in the eyes. "I mean it. From now on, I want you to tell me everything. If you don't I swear I'll follow your ass everywhere to make sure you're safe."

Alina had never seen so much sincerity in his eyes before. It was so out of character for him, that she could've thought he was the Shapeshifter again. But this time she was convinced he was the real Dean and it warmed her heart. She smiled at him and nodded. "Okay. I'll tell you everything Winchester. I wouldn't want you following me in the bathroom every time I need to take a shower."

Dean let out a soft laugh and tenderly caressed her cheek with his thumb. "I wouldn't mind doing it for your safety, Frenchy."

She laughed too and let her head fall back on his chest to relax for a bit in his arms. Breathing almost felt more natural now that she'd finally told her secrets to someone. Not anyone, Dean Winchester. The Shapeshifter made her feel understood. Dean made her feel safe. That was the difference, and the reason why she would never let herself get fooled again.

They stayed in the arms of one another long enough to be sure that the police was now gone. When they finally left that tunnel, they shared a determined look, and a smile that meant a thousands words. "Let's get your car back Winchester."

"I swear if he did anything to it I'm gonna kill him twice."

Alina chuckled and they both ran back to Rebecca's house to get the Impala, and enough silver bullets to make sure that the Shapeshifter would never hurt anyone else again.

LATER

The night had been so long that Alina welcomed the sun with a big grin on her face. Dean and her had been able to get the Impala and go back to the motel, where they both changed back into their normal clothes. The young woman was exhausted, so Dean had let her fall asleep next to him in the bed, keeping an eye on her until she woke up a few hours later, ready to go after the Shapeshifter.

Sam had warned them not to go without him in the sewers, but obviously, they weren't going to listen. However, Alina was confused to see Dean take one gun filled with silver bullets, and put it in his belt before shutting down the trunk. "Where's mine?" She asked him.

"You're still hurt, you're not going."

"Uh, yes I am, because I'm not crazy enough to let you go after that freak all by yourself. Besides, I don't think he'll kill me."

"Yeah? And how do you know that?"

Alina hesitated, but clearly she had to tell him now. "Well, if we're gonna do this honesty thing now, I have to tell you that…I think he likes me."

"Who? The Shapeshifter?"

"I mean, I get it. After all, he has your memories and you're completely head over heels for me, so…" She gave him a mischievous smile, to which he answered with a fake one.

"So you're definitely not going."

She knew he was right about her being injured. Going down there hadn't been easy for her the previous night, and she was still protected by the adrenaline coursing through her body, making her forget about the pain. Now, she would only slow him down. "Fine! I'm not coming with you. I'm gonna see if I can find Sam at Rebecca's and…make sure she's alright after what she's been through. You better be yourself when you come back Winchester. Shoot anything suspicious."

And she left after waving her hand one last time in his direction. Dean watched the girl walking away from him, still concerned about her safety, but more than relieved that she'd agreed not to come with him. After the events of the previous night, the most important thing for him now was to protect her no matter what. And it started with killing the monster that had used his face to fool her and touch her, the way he never should've done it.

LATER

Alina had walked a long distance already, when she finally saw Rebecca's house a little further away. She hadn't realized that it would actually take her so long to get there, and was getting more and more worried about Dean. The moment she thought about going down the sewers anyway to make sure he was still alive, her phone started to ring. And she was relieved to see the caller ID before hurrying to pick up. "What took you so long?"

"Alina don't go to Rebecca's."

The panic in his voice forced her to stop in the middle of the sidewalk. "Why? What's wrong?"

"She's with me right now, the Shapeshifter took her appearance to trap Sam. I'll be there soon just don't…"

She hung up before he could finish his sentence. She could only imagine Dean's grumpy face after she'd done that, but if Sam was in danger, she just couldn't stay there and wait. She put her phone back in her pocket and ran towards the house. Once she reached the front door, she heard the sounds of struggling and breaking furnitures, so she didn't hesitate to enter and follow the sounds into the living room, finding Sam with a pool cue pressed against his throat. The Shapeshifter was once again wearing Dean's face, and watched her enter the room with a smile. "Honey! You're home!" He yelled in excitement, still strangling Sam with the large stick. "I knew you'd come."

"Oh don't make me listen to your 'we're the same' bullshit again." Alina grumbled with her eyes only on Sam fighting to get the cue away from his throat. "Why don't you put the pool cue down so we could have a little chat?"

"Sure. But first I need to kill my brother."

Luckily, Sam managed to free himself and punched him in the face. Alina ran to her friend to make sure he was okay, but the Shapeshifter hit him from behind with the pool cue, making him fall to the ground with the now broken stick. "Sam!" She saw him trying to get back up with a hand on the back of his head and wanted to go see him, but the fake Dean firmly grabbed her arm and threw her against the wall.

"Don't worry Frenchy, soon it'll just be you and me on the road."

"Don't call me like that!" She kicked him away as he was trying to get closer to her, dodged his fist, and tried hitting him with her elbow, but he bent down at the last minute and hit her at the exact same spot he'd cut her the night before. She felt a sharp pain in her stomach but ignored it. She furiously jumped at him and they both fell into the coffee table, breaking it instantly. This time, Alina wasn't able to ignore the pain as she rolled on her back and touched her wound to see the blood coming out of it once again.

She couldn't even worry about it for too long, because the Shapeshifter quickly got back up and sat on top of her, holding both her wrists to immobilize her. He then leaned down and smelled her neck. "They'll never understand you Alina. Not like I do."

"You're right…" She laughed in disgust. "I might be a freak like you…but at least I'm not alone."

"Hey!"

The Shapeshifter turned around to see the real Dean standing in front of him. He quickly got off of Alina, but Dean was fast to aim his gun at his double and shot him in the heart twice. Alina turned her head to see the Shapeshifter now lying down close to her with his eyes wide-opened, and two circles on his chest.

"Sam!" She recognized Rebecca's voice, and was glad that someone was taking care of her friend, as she was still struggling to move.

"Woah woah woah take it easy!" Dean appeared next to her and put a hand behind her back to help her sitting up. "You were supposed to wait for me Alina."

"Yeah…well you should've lied. You know I can't miss an opportunity to save a Winchester." She chuckled and opened her right hand to reveal the necklace she'd yanked from the Shapeshifter's neck during their fight. "That yours?" She joked.

Dean looked at the object in the palm of her hand covered in blood, and bit his lip not to scold her again. Instead, he just took his necklace back and shook his head in astonishment. That girl was completely crazy.

TWO DAYS LATER

Alina couldn't wait to leave the town. Dean had forced her to lie down in a bed from the moment they got back to the motel, until this morning, when she'd finally been able to leave the dark room, and meet again with the sun, the wind, and the Impala. Sam was talking for the last time with Rebecca, while Dean was by the car, studying a map, and trying not to look too many times at Alina from afar. She was talking on the phone, laughing and smiling, before she eventually hung up and came back next to the curious hunter. "Was that Liam?" He asked, annoyed.

"Who…oh! Angus' owner? No it was Lucie."

Dean finally recognized the satellite phone in her hand and felt stupid for asking this question. How old was he? 12?

However, Alina didn't seem to care about it as much as he did. She just kept talking about her actual phone call. "I told her that I wasn't able to call yesterday, because a certain someone refused to let me get out of bed. And she thanks you for that, even if I still consider that an overreaction."

Dean was listening, not wanting to interrupt her. It was good to see her so joyful after everything that had happened.

"I also told her that I needed to spend more time here. So even after finding my mom, I don't think I'll go back right away."

Dean was taken by surprise with this new information, which now forced him to speak. "Really? I thought your whole life was in France."

"Yeah…that's what I thought too when I came back four months ago. But France is only half of my life and I've been neglecting the other half for way too long." She kept smiling, until she suddenly frowned apprehensively. "Unless you don't want me to stay."

Dean simply stared at her. Obviously he wanted her to stay, but he was also afraid that she was doing it because of what the Shapeshifter had told her. "Of course you can stay, Frenchy. Just…don't do it for me, okay?"

Alina rolled her eyes and hit him in the arm. "You don't tell a girl why she should and shouldn't do something, Winchester. That's so not charming." She then winked at him and turned to see Sam already coming back after saying goodbye to his friend. "Wait I still need to apologize for the coffee table!" So she ran passed Sam and joined Rebecca next to the front door of her house. She also wanted to make sure she'd be fine after everything she'd been through.

Sam went to lean on the car, next to his brother. "Aren't you gonna yell at her to hurry?"

"Shut up Sam."

The youngest sibling couldn't hide his amusement. He was glad that even after the Shapeshifter events, things hadn't changed between Dean and Alina. Not a single thing actually. He turned to his brother, who was still looking at their friend with a gentle grin he probably didn't know he had on his lips. "Dude you're staring again." He warned him.

Dean simply nodded like he wasn't surprised to hear that anymore. "Yeah…I guess you were right."

"Wait, what was that?"

"I'm not gonna say it again." Dean's smile fell and he turned back to the map he was checking earlier. But he didn't even look at it. He leaned over the hood of the Impala and scratched the back of his head nervously.

"So what are you gonna do about it?" Sam was stunned by what his brother had just admitted.

"Nothing. There's nothing to do and if you ever talk to her about this, I swear I'm gonna kick your ass harder than that freak with my face did."

"Woah easy you two." Alina could only hear the last part as she came back, and tried to calm them down thinking they were arguing about their next destination again. "We still have a long road ahead, so less fighting, more driving." She opened the passenger's door and threw her bag inside the car.

Dean and Sam shared one last conflicted look, then decided to change the subject until their next private discussion.

"So, what about your friend, Zack?" Dean asked his brother.

"Cops are blaming this Dean Winchester guy for Emily's murder. They found the murder weapon in the guy's lair, Zack's clothes stained with her blood. Now they're thinking maybe the surveillance tape was tampered with. Yeah, Becca says Zack will be released soon." He smiled at Dean's bitterness expression.

"Don't worry Winchester. You'll see, it's actually easier to do this job when the police thinks you're dead."

"How would you know that?"

"Well let's say that two years ago, Interpol was getting a little too curious about us, so my mom and I unfortunately disappeared in the middle of the North Sea. Tragic, but convincing."

The boys were impressed by the way she talked about her fake death. And by the fact that she'd managed to fool Interpol. Their amazed looks were enough to make Alina proud of herself, so she happily entered the car without another word. Dean and Sam joined her, and soon enough they were on the road, leaving another town with another solved case. After a few minutes of silence, Dean gave Sam a quick glance in the rear view mirror. "Sorry, man."

"About what?"

"I really wish things could be different, you know? I wish you could just be….Joe College."

Alina was surprised to hear Dean apologizing for something like that to his brother. He usually didn't talk about the normal life Sam wanted with such empathy.

"No, that's okay. You know, the truth is, even at Stanford, deep down, I never really fit in."

"Well, that's 'cause you're a freak."

Before this job, Alina wouldn't have understand how much of a compliment that was from Dean Winchester. But now, it just made her smile.

"Yeah, thanks." Sam scoffed.

"Well, I'm a freak, too. I'm right there with you, all the way."

Sam laughed. "Yeah, I know you are."

Alina finally turned to them, with her best cute pouty face on. "I love you guys."

They both chuckled at her childish expression, and shook their head. But that wasn't enough for her. "Hey! You're supposed to say it back!"

Sam laughed from behind her. "We love you too Alina."

She gave him a satisfied look, then turned to Dean. Her friend took his eyes off the road for less than a second, to make sure that she seriously wanted him to say something like that. "Fine. You're a freak too. Happy?"

Alina thought for a moment, then shrugged. "Well if that's your way of saying it…"

He was relieved that she didn't insist, but he still changed the topic so she wouldn't have time to change her mind. "You know, I gotta say…I'm sorry I'm gonna miss it."

"Miss what?" Sam asked, curious.

"How many chances am I gonna have to see my own funeral?"

"Hey, in our line of job Winchester, you never know what's next to come..."

And…scene.

Well I enjoyed writing episode 6! I really wanted Alina to share her secret with Dean before telling Sam, but she will eventually tell her bestie too, don't worry!

So I hope you liked that chapter. As always, please leave a review to let me know what you think about my story, and have a nice day/night!
