This chapter is based on The Bubbler, featuring Evie with some differences.
Evie had finished getting ready for another day at school.
She was about to leave when she remembered that it was Adrien's birthday.
"Mum, do we have any birthday cards?" Evie asked as she stood outside her parent's room.
Her Mum didn't start work till later.
"I think so, I will have a look," Evie's Mum replied, "If not I can give you some money to get one on the way home from school. Who's birthday is it?"
"Adrien Agreste's," Evie replied, "He's the son of Gabriel Agreste, the fashion designer. I thought it would be nice to give him a card."
"Wait that's the boy that's on most of the bus stops and billboards. I didn't know he went to your school," Evie's Mum said.
"Adrien joined around the same time as me. He's a nice boy," Evie said, "From what I've heard he's never been to school before. He was homeschooled by his father assistant."
"Oh, I see," Evie's Mum said as she took a box out from the cupboard, "Here we are Birthday Cards."
"Thanks Mum, you're the best," Evie said as she hugged her Mum. She took a card from the box.
"Have a good day at school, Evie," Her Mum said.
"See you after school," Evie replied as she left the apartment.
Time Skip.
Evie and Caragh walked out of school. It was lunchtime and lots of the students went home during this time.
"Did everything work out with Marinette?" Caragh asked.
"Yeah, it did. We are friends now and even spent a Saturday together a few weeks ago," Evie replied.
"That was when Stormy Weather attacked the city," Caragh said.
"It was. The three of us were in the park when it happened. Actually, Alya and a girl that Marinette babysits got trapped on the merry-go round. It was scary," Evie said. "At least Ladybug, Chat Noir and Snow Leopard were able to stop Stormy Weather and turn her back to normal,"
"I'm glad we have three superheroes to keep the city safe from Hawkmoth," Caragh said. "I have to say out of the three Snow Leopards my favourite."
"Really, I'm a fan of Chat Noir," Evie admitted as she noticed Marinette standing in front of Adrien. She looked nervous. "Look, there's Marinette. I wonder what she's doing?"
"It looks like she's trying to speak to Adrien or give him a gift," Caragh said.
"It's his birthday," Evie said, "I wonder how this is going to play out."
Evie watched as Marinette went over to Adrien and tried to give him the gift but Chloe pushed her out of the way.
"Poor Marinette. Chloe is so rude," Evie sighed. "I'm going to talk to her. Are you coming Caragh?"
"I have to get home, Mum's got my lunch ready. Maybe another time," Caragh replied.
Caragh left and Evie went over to Marinette and Alya.
"Why can't I just mean what I say?" Marinette said as Evie approached.
"Uh, say what you mean?" Alya corrected.
"Exactly," Marinette said.
"I saw what happened with Chloe. Don't let it get you down. You will find a way to give your gift to Adrien," Evie said. "I have an idea. Adrien's at a photoshoot, why don't you go to his house and post the gift in the mail box."
"That's a great idea, Evie," Alya said.
The three girls arrived outside the Agreste mansion.
"The mailbox won't budge," Marinette complains as she tries to open the box.
"Ring the doorbell," Alya suggested.
"What if Adrien answers?" Marinette panicked.
Alya pressed the doorbell and a camera came out of the wall.
"Yes?" The person on the other side of the camera asked.
"Um, hi. I'm in and I, uh. Heh, did I already say that? Umm... Heh..." Marinette spoke into the camera while holding the present.
"Put it in the box."
The mailbox opened. Marinette put her gift in.
"Wait?" Evie said as she quickly got the card she had written for Adrien out and placed it in the box. The box closed.
"Oh, I hope he likes it," Marinette said.
"Did you sign the gift?" Alya asked. Marinette looks surprised, she forgot to sign the gift.
Evie sat in the kitchen, eating her lunch. Her Mum was busy working and the only sound other than the tapping of keys was the kettle boiling.
"I hope that Adrien liked his card," Evie said.
"I'm sure he will," Evie's Mum said as she got up and made her way to the kitchen side. "Are you looking forward to this afternoon at school?"
"Yep," Evie replied.
"That's good," Her Mum said.
The mother and daughter smiled at each other. The next events happened quickly and Evie didn't have time to react. They found themselves trapped in two giant bubbles. Her Mum's bubble started to float out of the house and up to the sky.
"Mum," Evie called as her bubble started to float in a different direction.
Evie found herself being forced to attend a birthday party. Nino, one of her classmates had been akumatized by Hawkmoth after being told that Adrien couldn't have a party. He trapped all the adults in the sky.
"Evie," Caragh called "I was worried about you. I'm glad your safe."
"I wouldn't call being forced to party by an akumatized villain safe but I know what you mean," Evie said.
"Are you having fun?" Adrien asked.
"Yeah," Evie and Caragh replied "Great party."
Adrien moved on, leaving the two girls alone. A slow song started playing but it didn't last long. A red and black spotted record landed on the player.
"Hey, who changed the tune?" Nino, now the Bubbler asked.
"Your's truly," Ladybug said before disappearing from sight.
Evie suddenly remembered that she had a job to do.
"Evie, are you ok?" Caragh asked. "Lets hope that Ladybug, Chat Noir and Snow Leopard show up to save us all."
"Yeah, I'm good. Just wondering where the bathroom is."
"There might be one in the house," Caragh said.
"Great. I will go look," Evie said.
Evie found a safe place to hide and let Starr out of her pocket.
"I messed up big time. I should have been helping Ladybug," Evie said.
Evie transformed into Snow Leopard.
When Evie returned to the Agreste courtyard, things had changed. The party had been shut down and Ladybug and Chat Noir were fighting the bubbler. Bubbles were being sent all over the place. The bubbler then throws a stream of small red bubbles towards the heroes. They manage to flick them off but Bubbler snaps his fingers and the bubbles return turning green before forming a large bubble around them.
"Give me your miraculous before you run out of air," Bubbler said.
"Dream on Bubbler," Ladybug replied.
"Total party poppers, just like adults," Bubbler told them.
"Kids need adults," Ladybug said.
"False, kids need freedom, fun, let loose and live it up. Adults are controlling and bossy," Bubbler added.
"Adults keep children safe and protected. They care for their kids, they love them" Ladybug said.
Evie noticed the sad face on Chat Noir when Ladybug said this. Her dad wasn't around very often but when he came home, Evie loved spending time with him.
"You must bring the adults back," Chat Noir said.
"Yeah, the adults must be freed," Evie added.
"Nope, never. Know, what since you care about these adults so much, why don't you go float with them for a while," Bubbler said as he ran up to the bubble and kicked it, sending it high into the sky.
Ladybug, Chat Noir and Snow Leopard (Evie) tried to break the bubble.
"Use your cataclysm," Ladybug suggested.
"Couldn't you have said that earlier?" Chat Noir said.
"We can't stay stuck in this bubble forever," Ladybug pointed out.
Chat Noir used his cataclysm to pop the bubble. The three heroes found themselves falling from the sky.
"Shall we see if you land on your feet this time?" Ladybug asked.
"No thanks," Chat Noir replied.
"I'd rather not," Evie added.
As they fell, the Eiffel Tower came into view.
"Chat, your stick," Ladybug said.
Chat Noir threw his stick and it got stuck in the tower.
Ladybug took Chat Noir's hand and made sure that the two of them landed safely on the ground.
The string on Evie's weapon caught the end of Chat Noir's stick and she landed next to them.
"We've got to get to the bubble sword, that's got to be where the Akuma is," Ladybug said.
"Better hurry. I don't have much time left," Chat Noir said as his ring blinked. One of the pads on the paw print faded.
When they arrived at the Agreste mansion, the bubbler was trying to get the party started again. The teenagers and Evie's classmates hid in fear.
"Where is everyone? Get out here and party" the bubbler called.
"Sorry to burst your bubble," Ladybug said.
"This party is over, Bubbler," Evie added.
The teenagers started cheering for their heroes which made the bubbler mad. He used his bubble sward to trap them in bubbles.
"Outer space is the next stop for your peeps and they are never coming back," Bubbler said.
Ladybug, Chat Noir and Evie (Snow Leopard) chased the Bubbler to the Eiffel Tower. As they climbed the tower, bubbler threw exploding bubbles at them which they managed to dodge.
Chat Noir's ring blinked again. "I'm going to switch back soon. Hurry."
Ladybug used her 'Lucky Charm' and got a red and black spotted wrench.
"Your plumbing skills going to help us out?" Chat Noir asked.
Ladybug looked around her and saw a vent, a vent pipe, the screw that connected them, the wrench and Snow Leopard.
"Got it," Ladybug said.
Ladybug hurried towards the pipe while Chat Noir and Snow Leopard dodged the bubbles. She took the screw and took the pipe off. Chat Noir catches it.
Evie used her power and turned invisible. Chat Noir used the air flowing from the pipe to deflect the bubbles. When the bubbler raises his bubble sword, Evie snatches it from him and throws it to Ladybug.
Ladybug broke the bubble sword in half with her knee, freeing the Akuma.
"Get out of here you nasty bug," Ladybug said. "No more evil-doing for you little Akuma," Ladybug opened her Yo-Yo and captured the Akuma. She opened her Yo-Yo and released the pure white butterfly "Bye Bye little butterfly."
Ladybug threw the lucky charm in the air "Miraculous Ladybug." The magic ladybugs flew around Paris, freeing the adults from the bubbles.
"Pound it," Ladybug, Chat Noir and Evie said.
The Bubbler, who turned back into Nino looked confused.
The following day, Evie arrived at school with Caragh. They had met on the way and Caragh had accepted Evie's apology for leaving her at the party. As they walked towards the steps leading to the school, Adrien's car pulled up. He got out of the car, wearing a blue scarf.
"Morning girls," Adrien said.
"Hi, Adrian" Evie said.
"Nice scarf, Adrien," Caragh said.
"Thank you. I got it for my birthday" Adrien replied.
Evie and Caragh smiled at Adrien and then walked into school.
